Personally, it is necessary. MIL says for about three months daily ( though now not as frequent as d first 4 weeks since i put to bed). She grinded spring onion, kafra pelebe and uda together, after which she placed them and in a small piece of cloth and tied.
We had to get a lantern for this purpose, the cloth is made moist at d bottom and placed on the top of the lantern for heating purposes and placed on DS's navel( the heat is first placed on my cheek oooo,to be sure it isnt hot and repeated like 6 times at a moment esp morning and evening bath).

It does help reduce stomach pain.I noticed in the first few weeks,once it is placed on his navel, he farts and all but now not so much when it is done, MIL says he is healing up already.

I use cotton wool with moko glycerin for babies and it does the magic. note u will wrap the cotton on your finger before dipping into the glycerin bottle so that u can get to the corners of your lo's mouth. hope this helps

I saw this topic on the family section of nairaland and thought to share ( I've been thinking what i would do if it happened to me).

outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take so I told her we'll just buy them all.
She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said let's get a pair for each outfit.

We went on to the jewelry department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings.
Let me tell you ... she was so excited. She must have thought I was one
wave short of a shipwreck!

I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis.

I think I threw her for a loop when I said, "That's fine, honey."

She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement.Smiling with excited anticipation she finally said, "I think this is all dear,let's go to the cashier."
I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out,

"No honey, I don't feel like it."

Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled
"WHAT !!!"

I then said, "Really honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while.
You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough
for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman."

And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me I added, "Why
can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy
you?"

My BS:-

On 12th September, i was 40 wks 5days pregnant, i have been feeling pains but the kind of back pain i had around 9pm was different so i told DH i would go to the hospital the following day(Sunday) though my next ANC was Monday. Around 3am, Sunday morning, i heard this cork sound while on the bed and immediately i concluded my water had broken, about 5 minutes later, i went to pee and on returning to the bed, water gushed out, i woke DH and advised we head to the hospital (FTM things and as per what i don dey hear about the danger of first poop by the baby coming out immediately .....).

We got to the hospital with my things around 4:15am but i was being tossed up and down before i got a bed space as the only thing i told the nurses when asked why i came to the hospital was that my water broke. I was told to go look for a doctor to minute on my file that i should be admitted in the ANC ward and seeing a doctor at that time was difficult but God granted me favor and after about an hour i found a doctor,when he tested me,i was 5 cm gone but no serious contractions. I got a bed space and during the morning ward round( around 10am),the doctor on duty complained that the doctor who attended to me should have augmented my labor because when he also checked me,i was still 5cm, oxytocin was administered and the process began, by 2pm, i was contracting and the pleasure no be here, i just kept saying, God help me, Blood of Jesus( you know how e dey be when e reach d peak).

By 4 pm i was 7cm gone and taken to the delivery room but warned not to push or sit or poo poo that it wasn't yet time. From that time on, it was heaven on earth ,around 5:30pm the nurse came ,checked me and said i had catput( pronounced that way but not sure of the spelling) that i might have to deliver via CS. I started praying in my mind and my DH where he was ,he was told to get blood sample etc which he got but he kept destroying " last minute battle organized at the gate of my safe delivery".

There and then , a doctor kept coming 30-45 mins interval and kept checking me, at a point ,he said he was mild catput,that i can deliver myself. I felt like vomiting and pooing at the same time, around 8pm,i was 10cm and taken to the second stage labor room. The nurse told me to hold legs and forcefully push, God helped me,after about 6 pushes ,my joy came forth at 8 :05pm weighing 3.5.

It can only be God.

This undescribable yet amazing experience helped me appreciate my mother more.

VIGILANTE IS SOOOOO REAL and i strongly pray every one in this dear family will experience it .


To my BS, coming soon ( i used to wonder before putting to bed how and why some mothers who had put to bed here usually post midnight but,i understand now). It feels refreshing posting after breastfeeding and changing diapers for me.

I have been in same shoes before, i pressed garlic juice on the affected tooth for about 1-2 mins( its stinginly painful though) then i rinse off with warm water.

I repeat like every 2 hours.

It will go if done religiously.

Note:

My pharmacist said it can be well avoided by brushing after meals or preferably before bed time,so i do that now.

All is well.

So another 5mins passed and Doc did another check, by this time my sisters baby's heart rate had gone to 166,
Doc then explained again that the least a baby's heart rate should go is 120 and the highest is 160.

At this point he said madam, don't panic I am just explaining to you so you understand and flow with me, just do as I say without delay or fear and let God do the rest. He then said please stop walking go to your bed and lie on your left side and reduce speech, by that time I was just praying and praising in my mind.

After 5 mins again he sent for me and did another scan, then he said heart rate was now 180 and we must do a CS immediately. I was so calm that my mum didnt even know what was happening, but inside me my heart had sunk.

So the nurses came prepared me and when I was going in was when my mum knew I was going for a CS.

At around 11pm to the glory of God my princess came weighing 3.5kg.

It was the next day early morning the doc came back to check me again, it was then he now said madam let's thank God ,I didn't want to alarm you but what I suspected and feared almost happened, as the uterus was already rupturing before the CS, so you will bleed but don't be scared.

My sister if you see clothed blood that came out, the biggest was the size of a 100 naira pineapple. But Gods mercy and grace took charge.

So my dear sisters the best thing that can happen to anyone is God's grace, I and my baby are Ok by his grace.

My ex-team September mama's shake body o, you know say I Don senior una now, keep the payers going and bounce in the Lord.

Finally my sister I say to you once again VIGILANTE is real.
