2015 It is now official: the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it lost its 16-year hold on power because former President Goodluck Jonathan betrayed the north. Cairo Ojougboh, vice-chairman (south-south) of the PDP, told journalists in Abuja on Friday that if Jonathan had kept to his promise to do only one term in 2011, the party would not have lost the election. In a report published by THISDAY on Sunday, Ojougboh said even the Christian north turned against Jonathan in the 2015 polls because of the “injustice” of reneging on his promise. Although he was widely reported to have promised to do only one term in 2011, Jonathan denied entering such a pact and challenged his accusers to provide evidence. But Ojougboh maintained that Jonathan did make the promise after succeeding President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua, who had barely spent three years in office when he died. The PDP leader said: “Jonathan himself said he will do only four years. Emirs, leaders and stakeholders in the country accepted that Jonathan will do only four years so that power can shift to the north. When the time came, a lot of macabre dance started. People started putting pressure here and there, and people started encouraging Jonathan to contest. “Unfortunately, Jonathan didn’t have the nerve to say, no, I will keep my agreement. So, Jonathan contesting meant that zoning formula had been breached. The north didn’t take kindly to it; they said, no, this is not what we agreed. Even the Christian north that used to be very friendly, especially the north-central, said, we had an agreement. “Some governors, about five of them, left the party because of that because they saw what was happening. The north now agreed that they must take power back, that it was their turn.” He said the 2015 election was a battle between the north and the south. “The south had done more than enough for the time being, for the agreement of 1998/1999. So the north said, look we are going to vote for our son, whether he is good or bad,” he said. Jonathan lost to President Muhammadu Buhari by 2.57 million votes, having won in 2011 by a difference of 10 million votes. https://www.thecable.ng/pdp-lost-gej-betrayed-north |

In the heat of insurgency in Nigeria, Mr. Anthony Egbase, a Nigerian legal practitioner and security advocate based in the United States of America, met with the President Barack Obama and his wife. Egbase shares his experience and details of the meeting in this television- excerpted interview monitored by our correspondent. Mitchell Obama with Egbase READ ALSO: Buhari Disappoints US, UK Governments, READ What He Did Give us a background of what your understanding of the Boko Haram in Nigeria. Of course as you know, the Boko Haram issue began in Nigeria and started escalating. With their kidnapping of the 200 Chibok girls, the issue of Boko Haram was brought to the doorstep of the whole world. Then, we in the diaspora, especially in the United States, felt that we should do something about it. I didn’t think Nigeria as a country was doing enough to push the issue and I believed that I could actually find out what was going on. I read in the newspapers that there was a United States embargo on helping Nigeria with military assistance. On the other hand, there was the argument that Nigeria did not want to seek assistance from the United States because that would tilt Nigeria to the west when half of Nigeria is a Muslim country. So I decided to first of all meet with the First Lady of the United States, Mitchell Obama and discuss the issue. And of course, I thanked her for bringing the issue to the world stage, because as you know, she also posed with the #BringBackOurGirls placard. So I thanked her and let her know that we needed more assistance from her husband. I went through the African way of doing things by going through the wife so that she would be able to push better for me. She wasn’t able to speak on that because she doesn’t talk about national security issues, but I knew I could reach the President also. So I reached President Obama and we discussed the issue extensively. What Mr. Obama told me was that the problem in Nigeria, the way he sees it, is that if the Nigerian government dared to go against the Boko Haram, it would be interpreted as one section of the country against the other section. But, in my conversation with President Obama, I realised that what he actually wanted is for the affected African countries coming together to form a coalition and going after insurgency. With that, the United States would be comfortable rendering assistance just like they are doing it in the Middle East. Don’t you think America has more access to information to dissect the situation? I don’t agree with you on that. I don’t think they have more access than we do. You are talking about foreigners understanding your country better than you do? No! I don’t understand how attacking Boko Haram would be interpreted to mean one section of the country against the other. What I believe he meant was that we should understand that the President at that time (Goodluck Jonathan) is from the South. So if he decided to go against the Boko Haram in full force, it would be interpreted as the Southern part of the country going against the Northern part of the country. I believe he was wrong though, but that is obviously what he got from the Department of States. And when he suggested or when he stated that what he wanted to see was the countries affected forming a coalition, you should understand that most of these affected countries are Muslim countries. But my point is that we shouldn’t let foreigners think for us. He (Obama) was right in that aspect that the countries affected should form a coalition. Is that the same coalition we are getting to see now? That is what we are getting to see now. We should have seen that before the United States or President Obama saw it. So if you had gotten the countries affected together and you figured a way to deal with the issue, we wouldn’t be where we are now. After that, did you meet anyone in Nigeria to inform such a person of what President Obama thinks about the insurgency? Yes, I did, but if you are talking about someone in government, probably no. It is easier for me to talk to elected officials in the US, than to talk to elected officials here for obvious reasons. But I did talk to former President Olusegun Obasanjo. I was fortunate to meet him and we had a lengthy conversation. We actually flew from Atlanta to Lagos together for 12 hours. We had an interactive session where we discussed this issue in details. I also met again with him in his residence at Ota (in Ogun State). He actually told me all the efforts he had made trying to broker the issue of insurgency and the Boko Haram and the meetings he had with former President Jonathan and suggestions that he made were not taken. And I believe him. We now have a new president in Nigeria and Boko Haram has continued. What solutions would you want to suggest right now? Shortly before President Jonathan left office, there was increase in the fight against insurgency. That did have an effect. What now happened is surgical strikes by the insurgents. Prior to now, they were taking villages and territories. Now, it is surgical strikes. That is expected. How do you combat that? Through intelligence. Someone is obviously dropping the ball. Don’t tell me that in a country like Nigeria, an African country where you have communal living, neighbours know their neighbours, that you can’t have the intelligence to know the stranger in town? That baffles me. Israel is one of the safest countries in the Middle East, but has the greatest number of enemies around it. Why is it safe? It is because of intelligence. We should be doing that and even ask countries like Israel and the US on how to do that. Aren’t we doing that already? Are we? I heard President Buhari is meeting with Obama. I would like him to stress on that part. He should tap on the US intelligence capability. President Obama said some days ago that the fight on ideology can only be won by better ideology. That is true, but how do you go about that? Educate people; free education for every Nigerian child. If the law is already there, enforce it so that every Nigerian child is educated. Create opportunities, provide infrastructure and open up the economy. READ ALSO: President Buhari Reveals What He Expects From Meeting With Obama Let us identify the root-cause of this insurgency. The root-cause in my opinion is hopelessness, lack of opportunities and infrastructure. Even though it is an ideological war, it is based on something; an opportunity which the people have to tap into. www.naij.com/485208-what-president-obama-told-me-about-boko-haram-egbase.html

AMERICA CANNOT BE WRONG? The influence of America and her culture on the church in Nigeria is monumental. Although Christianity did not come from America, America was as gentile as Nigeria as far as the salvation programme of God is concerned, people here have come to see America as the standard of Christianity. Any minister of God who travels to America to preach, even though to less than two dozen people, leaving the hundreds of brethren in his congregation behind is considered a big and successful minister of God. Here we have adopted the American style of worship. Our musical instruments are American; our lyrics are American. Our ministers dress American; some even mimic popular American preachers sounding miserable in the process. When our brothers, (Americana pastors) came back from America, they began to tell us that it no longer matter for our sisters to cover their heads in prayer meetings. Everybody (except some few "conservatives" said yes; America cannot bewrong. Later they told us that since women wear trousers to church in America, it no longer matter for sisters here to do same. Everybody complied; America cannot be wrong! Recently, men come to church with braided hair while women come with "skin" haircut, many are in church with tattoo and men wear ear rings. We all sing, jump and shout together in church in the American way; these things do not matter because that is what they do in America and America cannot be wrong! Now American men are marrying themselves in church and their women are doing the same. Soon American churches will be full of couples who are Mr Wood and Mr Wood married legally in the church and Mrs and Mrs Stones married together. America is always right! That is the position here! Soon in Nigeria, shall also see Olu and Ade, two brothers in the church as couple, one in the choir and the other an usher? I hope America will be wrong for once and something will really matter to the church in Nigeria! Soon it will no longer matter in America for Mr Coal to marry his dog and for Miss Bush to marry her horse. Then, I hope it will matter to the church in Nigeria! Brethren, for how long will the culture of America be the culture of the church? The "name it and claim it" faith movement came from America; also, the capitalistic Christianity where wealth is used to measure God's approval. Where is America leading the churches in our land? Our bishops and reverends, I hope that after your next trip to America, homosexuality will still be a sin; I hope it will still matter? We do not need any prophet again to know that the trumpet of the home call will sound any moment from now. How ready are you? I hope the matter of eternity still matter to you? (If it matters to you, share this message with those that matter in your life) Think on these things and may God give you understanding in Jesus name. Shalom! |
Let me start by bringing you back to a decision made by Chad govt after suicide bombings in the country. "Chad has banned people from wearing the full-face veil, following two suicide bomb attacks on Monday. Chad's government accused Nigerian militant Islamist group Boko Haram of the bombings which killed more than 20 people. The prime minister said the veil was used as a "camouflage" by militants and said the security forces will burn all full-face veils sold in markets. Chad is to host a new regional force set up to tackle Boko Haram. The militant group has not commented on the attack but has previously threatened to attack Chad, after its forces started to help Nigeria. At a meeting with religious leaders, Prime Minister Kalzeube Pahimi Deubet said the ban applied everywhere, not only public places. He added that any clothing that covers everything but the eyes was a camouflage. Now my own view is dat if Chad with 53.1% Muslims can ban the use of face veil so as to expose bombers that use it as camouflage, why cant Nigeria with 50.4% muslim population do the same? particularly in the North East. With these faces of everbody would been seen and it would be most difficult for you to move with explosives without been suspected. i understand the current president is a muslim, but is the president of Chad also not a muslim? Abi guys what's ur take on this cause am fed up of hearing boko bombings everyday. For goodness sake people Are dying. GOD BLESS ME GOD BLESS YOU GOD BLESS THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA

Buhari has solutions to Nigeria’s problems – Mohammed JULY 3, 2015 : SUCCESS NWOGU 34 Comments President Muhammadu Buhari The National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has said the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has the blueprint to tackle Nigeria’s developmental challenges. He noted that Nigeria has enormously and critical challenges in many sectors especially in areas of health, poverty, education and unemployment. He, however, said Buhari’s administration had worked out immediate, intermediate and long term measures to ameliorate the challenges in all critical sectors. Mohammed spoke on Thursday during his 9th Ramadan Lecture in Oro, Kwara State. He said Buhari’s government would solve the problems ‘even in the face of paucity of funds. According to him, the paucity of funds was caused by the fall in the price of crude oil, which Nigeria depended on for most of its foreign exchange earnings. He added that the paucity of funds was caused by the alleged “unbridled and maddening corruption that has seen public officers ferreting away public funds.” Mohammed said, “I have deliberately taken us through the grim statistics in the very key areas of health, education, poverty and unemployment to drive home the point that we are in trouble, as a nation, if we don’t act in a deliberate, concerted and determined way to turn things around for the better.” He said that while Nigerians had made history by voting for the APC to take over the reins of power from a ruling party, the Peoples Democratic Party, that held sway for 16 years, they must now follow up by ensuring that the process of change – which they brought about – came into fruition. According to him, the best way to do it is for Nigerians to remain politically-aware and engaged as they were in the run-up to the elections. “That simply means they must be willing to defend the change they voted for by continuing to support the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, while preventing the reactionary forces, who never wanted or voted for change anyway, from sabotaging his party’s change mantra. Whatever is worth fighting for is worth defending. “I say this with all sense of responsibility, and against the stark realities that we face daunting challenges in all sectors. Never before has our nation been put in a situation where it virtually had to start rebuilding from the scratch, after almost all sectors have become nearly comatose. This is why it is necessary for the new government at the centre to make haste slowly, and get it right once and for all. “Whereas we face huge problems in the economic and security sectors, as well as in the area of infrastructural renewal, just to mention a few, let us restrict ourselves to the social issues alone for the purpose of these remarks.” He said that the nation’s health sector was in serious distress. According to him, Nigeria’s health statistics are worse than the average for African countries, even though Nigeria claims to be the giant of Africa. He said 128 children were dying in every 1000 live births as of 2013 while mortality from malaria was estimated at 1,157 deaths per 100,000 population. He added that tuberculosis was estimated at five deaths per 100,000 population in 2013. He stated that “about 900,000 children and mothers die each year in Nigeria, accounting for 14 per cent of all maternal and 13 per cent of all under-5 deaths globally, and second only to India.” According to him, at 576 deaths per 100,000 live births, the maternal mortality ratio has remained static since 2008. He stated that although child mortality is falling, progress is insufficient to reach the MDG targets. Mohammed also said that “an increasing proportion of child deaths, that is 37 per cent, occurs during the first month of life from largely preventable causes which are complications during birth, infection and complications of premature births.” He added that under-nutrition remained a significant challenge, contributing to 35 per cent of deaths in children under-5 years in Nigeria. “The proportion of underweight – children who have low weight for their age- increased by 21% between 2003 and 2013, and the proportion of children with wasting, that is low weight for height, increased by 64% during the same period. “Overall, socio-economic and geographical inequalities in health outcomes and access to healthcare are stark and increasing, with the poor and rural having worst outcomes. “In the area of immunisation, Nigeria is still one of the three remaining polio-endemic countries, together with Pakistan and Afghanistan. In addition, Nigeria has the world’s largest burden of HIV-positive newborns, with more than 50,000 children born with positive status each year.” The APC spokesperson said Nigeria’s education system should prepare the children for the responsibilities of citizenship and prepare the youths to contribute to the development of the country. He stated that unfortunately the current system was failing to equip Nigeria’s children with the knowledge and skills they needed to thrive in today’s rapidly changing society and economy. According to him,the current situation of education in Nigeria depicts large numbers of children, that is 10.5 million, remain out of school. He added that children from poorer households, rural areas and females were more likely not to be in school. According to him, primary school attendance is 44 per cent in the northeast compared to 81 per cent in the southeast. Even when children are in school, a large proportion are not learning. According to him nearly half of all children who have completed primary school cannot read a complete sentence. Mohammed also said that a large proportion of Nigerian population live very close to the poverty line and are highly vulnerable to small variations of income. He stated that since 2003, Nigeria had recorded strong economic growth, with real Gross Domestic Product growth averaging seven per cent. He added that however, in the same period, poverty rate had only declined slightly from about 48.4 per cent in 2003 to 46 per cent in 2010. www.punchng.com/news/buhari-has-solutions-to-nigerias-problems-mohammed/ |

Egbin power plant now generates 1,000MW JULY 2, 2015 : STANLEY OPARA 45 Comments Egbin thermal station Nigeria’s largest power generation plant, Egbin Power Plc, is for the first time in eight years generating above 1,000 megawatts of electricity. This follows continuous investment and upgrade activities on the plant by the Sahara Power Group and Korea Electric Power Corporation, Egbin Power explained in a statement on Wednesday. Eight years ago, the plant hit the 1,000MW mark for barely two hours and never attained it again until now, according to the company. Prior to the privatisation of the plant in November 2013, the Egbin plant average generation was below 500MW due to the dismal state of its six units. At its lowest point, only two of the six units were operational, according to the statement. The Chairman, Egbin Power Plc, Mr. Kola Adesina, was quoted as saying that the feat signposted the unfolding success of the privatisation process and the power sector reform in the country. Adesina attributed the achievement partly to the direct intervention of the Federal Government in its determination to resolve the power crisis, which had resulted in recent improvements in gas supply. “This is driving the increase in power supply in the nation and boosting socio-economic development. Prior to this, we had invested heavily and had the plant ready to generate power at full capacity, but there was no gas to do so. This, is indeed, a good development for the power sector in Nigeria,” he said. The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dallas Peavey, also said the transformation in Egbin commenced following its acquisition by Kepco Energy Resource Limited, in collaboration with its technical partners, Korea Electric Power Corporation. He said, “Through the injection of close to N50bn in new capital into Egbin post privatisation, the Sahara Power/KEPCO partnership has brought to the power plant an unprecedented level of innovativeness, professionalism, human capital development and continuing investment in new technology. The control room panels, installed at the plant’s inception, have been removed and upgraded to state of the art digital panels. “The highlight of the main plant rehabilitation occurred in the first quarter of 2015, when the company successfully rehabilitated ST Unit 6, bringing an additional 220MW to the national grid and restoring the power plant to its installed capacity of 1,320MW. |

Petrol sells for N500 per litre in Anambra JULY 2, 2015 : TONY OKAFOR 14 Comments Petrol stations Residents of Anambra State woke up on Wednesday to another round of fuel scarcity due to the closure of most filling stations in protest over what they described as high levies imposed on them by the state government. As a consequence, motorists and other users of petrol resorted to buying the product from black marketers for as much as N500 per litre. A petroleum products’ marketer, Joseph Nwakpadolu, told our correspondent that most of his colleagues closed their retail outlets to protest the heavy levies imposed on them by the state government. He said the marketers had to convene an emergency meeting to discuss the levies and taxes imposed on them by the government. Nwakpadolu said each filling station owner was being asked to pay a huge sum annually, which he said would kill their businesses if implemented. He said the general meeting had become imperative after all efforts to get the government to rescind the plan failed. “We met to discuss the high levies the government has billed our businesses; they are giving us a combined bill of over N500,000 per year exclusive of tax. Our position is that the amount is high and cannot be sustained if we must remain in business,” he added. The Chairman, Petroleum Dealers’ Association of Nigeria, Anambra State chapter, Chief Osita Ofodile, confirmed that the marketers were being asked to pay over N500,000 each, which their colleagues in other states were paying. No government official could be reached for reaction because of the state’s Executive Council meeting that was still going on at 5.30pm when this report was sent. Copyright PUNCH.All rights reserved. Suspected Boko Haram member attacks Civil Defence Corps Officer in Anambra (ONITSHA) Pandemonium broke out Tuesday evening at Nkpor Junction in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra state, near Onitsha, when information filtered that a man suspected to be a Boko Haram member was spotted in the area with explosive materials on his person. According to eye witness account, the man, a Northerner, had boarded a bike from Umuoji community to an undisclosed destination and the cyclist who became uncomfortable with his mannerisms and the contents of the passenger’s bag, suddenly stopped at Nkpor junction and alerted the armed men of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who quickly cordoned off the area and made to arrest the man. The Northerner resisted arrest and engaged the officers in a struggle before punching one of them. The officers finally overpowered him and frantically searched his bag as on-lookers and inhabitants of the area scampered for safety, suspecting that the man may be carrying a bomb or other explosive device. The news quickly spread within Onitsha and environs, even as some shop owners within the area quickly made efforts to close and run away from the scene. Our reporter on the scene confirmed the incident from a civil defense officer, who said officers over-powered the suspect and whisked him off to their office for interrogation. He noted that on getting to their office, the man was searched and some six inches nails and a lighter were found in his bag. There has been heightened fear and apprehension in Anambra since the reported relocation from the north of the detained Boko Haram insurgents to Ekwulobia prisons in Aguata Local Government Area of the state. A situation that has made residents fear that Boko Haram might invade the state in retaliatory attacks. sunnewsonline.com/new/suspected-boko-haram-member-attacks-civil-defence-corps-officer-in-anambra/ |
PMB Will Surprise Everyone With Uncommon Performance – APC By George Agba — Jul 1, 2015 7:51 am | 1 Comment Amid widespread views and criticisms that the President Muhammadu Buhari- led government has failed to hit the ground running 32 days after its inauguration, the All Progressives Congress (APC) yesterday explained that the government is being methodic in its approaches to achieve uncommon performance that will surprise everyone. APC national publicity secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, told journalists at a press briefing in Lagos that contrary to some individualized views, the Buhari- led government had taken some measures that had endeared it to both Nigerians and international community. He said, “It has been about one month now since President Buhari assumed office, and I can tell you that there has been motion and there has been movement contrary to what is being peddled in some quarters.” Mohammed lamented that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was bent on frustrating the APC-led government, pointing out that the Buhari administration got the handover notes from the former government just four days before the inauguration, thus hampering its efforts to have a clear understanding of the position of things so that the party could map out the necessary measures to address them. He said: “If any disease is not appropriately diagnosed, it cannot be effectively treated. Any government that is truly desirous of bringing about real change will not act hastily and without the necessary understanding of what is on ground. Coupled with the delay in getting the much-needed information, that takes time.” On insecurity and the fight against terrorism, the APC scribe said the Buhari administration had since hit the ground running. “The president had hardly been sworn into office when he embarked on a shuttle diplomacy to rally Nigeria’s neighbours to act as a common front against the terror group, Boko Haram. The president travelled to Chad and Niger, and then hosted a summit of the Lake Chad Basin Commission that comprised Cameroon, Chad and Niger, with Benin also invited.” Stressing that the fight against corruption ranks very high on the list of Buhari administration’s priorities, he asserted that the fight against terror cannot succeed without putting an end to the kind of massive corruption being witnessed in the country. He said, “That is why the president also included it on the wish list he took to Germany during the last G7 summit. Thankfully, some Western nations have now assured the Buhari administration of all possible assistances in its efforts to recover the billions of Naira that spirited away from the public till by public officers in the immediate past administration.” Mohammed recalled that the president had, on Monday, ordered revenue generating agencies, including the NNPC, FIRS, Customs and NPA, to close all Illegal revenue accounts and to also remit all funds generated to the federation account. “This is a momentous step considering that those illegal accounts are being used to siphon public funds. Thanks to the painstaking efforts of President Buhari, Nigerians now know that out of N8.1 trillion generated by the NNPC in three years, N3.8 trillion of it was not remitted to the federation account. “Nigerians now know that the cash in the excess crude account has been depleted by $2 billion without explanation. A panel of four governors has been set up to investigate what happened to the money that was not remitted to the federation account. The rot met by the Buhari Administration is sickening, and the president is working hard to plug all loopholes for siphoning public funds, in addition to recovering looted public funds,” he stated. The APC spokesman added that these actions were just the beginning of the fight against corruption in the country and urged Nigerians to prepare to watch as events unfold in the anti-corruption fight in the days ahead. “It will no longer be business as usual as the Buhari administration seeks to make sure that every kobo of national funds is spent for the benefit of Nigerians, not to fill the deep pockets of a few fat cats.” On the international scene, he also noted that since President Buhari’s election on March 28, 2015, Nigeria has been moving fast to regain its deserved place in the comity of respected nations. According to him, “leaders who once shunned Nigeria have been inviting President Buhari to visit their countries. The latest is US President Barack Obama who will play host to our president at the White House on July 20.” He pointed out that there is no better indication of how much Nigeria is regaining its lost glory than the recent election of former agriculture minister, Dr Akinwumi Adesina, as the president of the African Development Bank (AfDB), the first time Nigeria would be winning the post in the many decades of the organization’s existence. “Recall that Nigeria has never before led the continental bank despite its front-line role there. In backing and campaigning for Dr. Adesina, President Buhari put his acclaimed sterling qualities to a global test, and he passed in flying colours. Adesina’s election is a testimony to the perception of Nigeria under President Buhari’s leadership,” he said. leadership.ng/news/444055/pmb-will-surprise-everyone-with-uncommon-performance-apc |
Buhari Changes Personal Security But leaves Nation Under Risk – by Perry Brimah Article written by Dr Peregrino Brimah of Ends.ng. Read below… Nigeria’s president Muhammad Buhari takes his personal security seriously. After being sworn in, the president waited over a month before moving into his official Aso rock residence. The delay in relocation was attributed to suspicious security lapses, possible espionage and overall distrust of the department of state security, DSS headed by the service chief Ita Ekpeyong and NSA Sambo Dasuki. Reliable reports have it that the DSS has been expelled from all sensitive positions in Aso rock. It is understandable that where Buhari has a choice, he chose not to move into Aso rock because he did not trust the nation’s service chiefs and security departments. The people of Maiduguri have no such choice, nor do the people of Adamawa and Yobe. They cannot simply decide to not occupy homes under protection by these same risky chiefs. They cannot order an overhaul or select the departments to provide them security. They cannot simply handpick what agents and agencies to protect their displaced camps and rescue their abducted sons and daughters. While president Buhari obviously considers his personal security seriously, can we say he does the same with the entire nation as he keeps the very same Sambo Dasuki, DSS chief and Defense and army chiefs Badeh and Minimah in charge of the nation’s security? Based on the history it is reasoned that the service chiefs left at the reigns are likely planting devices to permanently undermine and sabotage Nigeria and larger Africa’s war against terror and Nigeria’s security capacity for decades to come. Obama's Aide The legalisation of Gay marriage as a constitutional right by the Supreme Court of the United States, has taken a dramatic turn as ex- aide to president Barrack Obama says it will help fight forces of Islamic extremist terrorism. Gay Marriage Will Help Us Fight Bok Rosa Brooks, a former counselor to the defense undersecretary for policy, and former senior adviser for the State Department, believes sharing images of the gay rights jubilation will help fight ISIS. The George town university law professor explained that the images of gay jubilation could bring about great difference in tackling the insurgents. Brooks who was a former adviser to Obama believe gay marriage can actually help defeat ISIS. She said, “Do you want to fight the Islamic State and the forces of Islamic extremist terrorism? I’ll tell you the best way to send a message to those masked gunmen in Iraq and Syria and to everyone else who gains power by sowing violence and fear. “Just keep posting that second set of images. Post them on Facebook and Twitter and Reddit and in comments all over the Internet. Send them to your friends and your family. Send them to your pen pal in France and your old roommate in Tunisia. Send them to strangers”.
