PoliticsApc National Chairman Speaks On Current NASS Crisis by dunsman(op): 2:12pm On Jun 29, 2015
We ’ re Unhappy With Recent Developments In
NASS – APC State Chairmen
The All Progressives Congress chairmen from the 36 states of the
federation on Friday expressed displeasure at recent happenings in
the National Assembly.
This is contained in a communique issued in Abuja by the Acting
Chairman of the APC State Chairmen Forum, Alhaji Umar
Mohammed.
The News Agency
of Nigeria reports
that the chairmen
converged on the
federal capital for
a meeting, which
began on
Thursday, to
review current
leadership
challenges facing
the NASS.
There was a free-
for-all in the
lower chamber of the National Assembly over the choice of principal
officers and sittings had to be adjourned till July 21.
The two-day meeting of the chairmen, apparently not yielding result,
led to the adjournment of the forum to next week.
According to the communique, the chairmen met to reaffirm their
belief and loyalty to the party’s supremacy as contained in its
constitution.
“As direct grassroots leaders, we are concerned about the
development and, therefore, reaffirm our belief and loyalty to APC’s
supremacy as contained in the party’s constitution and decision of
its leadership.
“We are also not happy with recent developments in the National
Assembly, especially the lower chamber, and call on the party
leadership to put in place proper machineries to checkmate further
occurrences.
“We also call on party leaders to use the long break to resolve the
matter so that the much needed change will be seen and enjoyed by
everybody”, the communique urged. www.informationng.com/2015/06/were-unhappy-with-recent-developments-in-nass-apc-state-chairmen.html
PoliticsLeave Me Out Of Nass Crisis Ekweremadu Pleas by dunsman(op): 1:22pm On Jun 29, 2015
Leave Me Out of NASS Crisis, Ekweremadu Pleads
Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu
Olaoluwakitan Babatunde and Christopher Isiguzo in Enugu
The Deputy President of the Senate, Ike Ekweremadu has denied reports
making the rounds in the social media and online newspapers in which
he was quoted to have tried to explain away the brawls at the National
Assembly.
This is as his kinsmen on Friday dismissed calls for the lawmaker's
resignation as a principal officer of the Senate as not only laughable
but anti-democratic.
The said report read in part: “Dear Nigerians, please be rest assured
that we are all fighting for your interest. We need your prayer and
support for a better Nigeria”.
A statement yesterday by Ekweremadu’s Media Adviser, Uche
Anichukwu said the report supposedly written from Ekweremadu’s
purported Twitter handle was fraudulent and mischievous.
Anichukwu stated: “It would be recalled that this office had cause to
issue a statement about a year ago (specifically on June 29, 2014) to
the effect that the Senator had since shut down his social media
platforms and warned members of the public to disregard any message
put out on these platforms supposedly by him. That decision was
necessitated by fraudulent and mischievous activities such as the
current report.
“The Deputy President of the Senate did not tweet, does not own a
Twitter handle, and did not even grant any interview whatsoever to any
reporter on the sad developments at the National Assembly yet.
“Those who are strenuously trying to drag Senator Ike Ekweremadu into
the fray should please bear their cross and leave him out of it.
Nigerians know those brawling at the National Assembly, and it is up to
them to explain to Nigerians why they brawl.
“We call on the media houses, to kindly crosscheck with our office on
information such as the one in question before going to the public with
it, so as to help check the activities of mischief-makers.”
In a statement, the Vice chairman of the Association of Local
Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Enugu state chapter and chairman of
Awgu local government, Hon. Mathanus Nnanna Nze said the people of
Greater Awgu, Enugu-west and South-east, were opposed to such
resignation calls.
He noted that the calls by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and
some other individuals for Ekweremadu's resignation was shocking and
amounted to a volte-face by "the disciples of change".
"It is unimaginable for disciples of change to turn 360 degrees against
change; more importantly, Ekweremadu's re-election was an act of God
because the constitutional requirements were met by the senators.
"I think that majority of Nigerians are quite happy including the APC as
a party which will stand to benefit from his wealth of experience having
served as council chairman, Chief of Staff, SSG, and record four-time
senator and also as Deputy Senate President.
"We the people of Enugu West and indeed the Igbo race are solidly
behind our senator which was shown when the people trooped out in
their numbers to welcome him on arrival at the Akanu Ibiam
International Airport, Enugu," he said.
He further congratulated the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and other
senators for deepening democracy and urged them not to be
intimidated.
Nze also applauded President Muhamadu Buhari for upholding the
constitution and urged him to remain consistent in order to succeed as
president. www.thisdaylive.com/articles/leave-me-out-of-nass-crisis-ekweremadu-pleads/213219/
PoliticsCan The United States Be Trusted? by dunsman(op): 10:12am On Jun 29, 2015
hello Nigerians. I just perceived something and I want to share it with you. I noticed DAT most Nigerian youth on this site, always take it as something special wen United States pledges support to Nigeria in one particular way or the other, most especially insecurity and corruption. But remember this same US has been going against the law of humanity and God for years past. though are one of d leading countries in d world, but can Nigerians trust them totally that they are who they say they are. Cause d US I know will help u with #1 and demand for #2. Its high time we start making our stand as a nation and begin to question, investigate, and if credible praise d alliance of so called powerful countries especially d US.

GOD BLESS ME
GOD BLESS YOU
GOD BLESS INTROVERT☺

Re: FG Builds Helipad For Buhari In Daura by Rawani: 7:48am
Building a helipad which will allow the President fly to Daura directly from the villa will be a cheaper option than using the Eagle One Presidential jet to first fly to Katsina and then moving the entire convoy by road to Daura, a trip that is repeated for his return as well.

Let's keep in mind that the soil in Otueke is loamy, in contrast to the sandy Daura soil which would raise dust when landing that could disastrously block the pilots visibility. The construction cost of a helipad is about N2 million.

This is a 'clueful' decision which is highly efficient, especially as it significantly reduces the cost of governance.

PoliticsRe: Reason We Attacked Militants Hideout In Calabar - Ohwo by dunsman(f): 6:54pm On Jun 21, 2015
fulanimafia:
I don't understand how everyone can see the efforts PMB is putting in, in the fight against BH yet some people deliberately pretend the armed forces have completely ignored BH and are facing Calabar.

1. Relocation of the command centre

2. The composition of the MNJTF and establishment of their headquarters

3. The commitment of $100 million to fight the terrorists.

4. The release of $21 million already for the fight.

5. The donation of $5 million from the U.S alongside technical and weapons support.

6. The commitment of the G7 to eliminating the terrorists.

While there is clearly a brief transitional lull in the actual fight which makes the terrorists appear to be winning, it should be appreciated that the aforementioned are crucial and vital for a solid foundation for dealing the blood suckers a final fatal blow. Fighting the militants does not translate into stopping the fight against BH, allowing such criminals to fester in the first place is what balloons into problems like BH.

All militants, kidnappers, and demented elements that think they can threaten Nigerians should either make good their threats, repent, or embrace the Hell-fire from the air.
and since all dose pledging... how many headlines have u seen 400 BH killed in successful gunfight with d military. biko oya tell me... instead suicide bomber did dis, suicide bomber did dat
