According to the July 2019 Visa Bulletin (linked at the bottom of this post), the priority date for F1 immigrant visas is 08 Mar 2012. That means that if your petition was filed on that date, you should expect to be called for an interview soon. Because your petition wasn't filed until November 2014, you will have to wait a bit longer. Nobody can tell you exactly when that will be, but if you routinely check the State Department visa bulletins, you will have a better idea of when you will be called.

These visas are numerically limited by fiscal year, which explains the long wait time. F1 visas are currently limited to 23,400 a year. Please review the following links for more information:

Good evening VO.. thank you for your help and support.. please I want to quickly ask some few questions.

1. I’m a beneficiary of a F1 category( unmarried son of a US citizen) he filed Nov 2014, we only got the receipt notice up till now there has been no other notice ( approval notice); does it get this long before it’s approved? Or is that it has already been approved?

2. Is there anything we need to do or is there something wrong with the petition? Though I sometimes check my case status on uscis website.

My Dad who is a US citizen filed for my siblings and I (6 of us). we had our interview Oct 14 2017.DNA was requested. January 2018 we submitted our DNA samples...we have been waiting for a response from the consular since then...we sent an email and we were told "the cases are still under review".....please what does this mean?... what happens during case review?...is it the same thing as administrative review?.. is it a negative signal Cos we have waited for over 3month Now...

Good morning,

It sounds like you are the beneficiary of an F11 visa petition (unmarried son or daughter of a U.S. citizen). Family-sponsored preference visas like the F11 are numerically limited worldwide every year, and as such you must wait until your case becomes current. You will need to know your priority date. The priority date is the date on which the completed, signed petition is properly filed with USCIS. Once the petition is approved, it is forwarded to the National Visa Center (NVC). When your petition is current, or is likely to become current within one year, NVC will initiate pre-processing (collecting fees, forms, and documents).

For F11 applicants from Nigeria, the cutoff date for October 2017 is 22 December 2010, which means if your petition was filed before that date (i.e. your priority date is before 22 December 2010), your case will become current. These cutoff dates change by the month, and can be tracked by checking the visa bulletin available at travel.state.gov (https://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/law-and-policy/bulletin.html)

We recognize that this process can be confusing, but hopefully this is somewhat helpful.

If you are checking the status of your case on the USCIS website, it sounds like it is still under review at USCIS. If the petition is approved, USCIS will send it to the National Visa Center (NVC) to await such a time as your petition becomes current. At that point, they will notify you of the documentation they will need. I hope this is helpful.

Thanks for your response! But my dad called the number on USCIS website and was told that since, the beneficiary is above 21, there's a wait time before it get to my turn. Does it mean the petition has been approved? Now I'm confused, is USCIS the same as NVC? If no, please shed more light on it. And what's NVC official website and contact? So we could reach them.

I just want to ask a quick question. My dad (USC) filed for me (unmarried son above 21yr) in 2014. I received a copy of case receipt stating that, the case was received and it's on process". And I was able to check case status via uscis website. Now the question is; does it mean that uscis approved the case? And is there something we are missing or left to do?

What do you think about the new Nokia D1C?

Following the rumor that has been making rounds on the Internet about the Nokia upcoming smartphone, Nokia D1C. Its seems the Nokia D1C is not a smartphone instead it might be a tablet

According to the new rumor that surfaces today, the new Nokia D1C is going to be a 13.8-inch tablet that will be running on the new Android 7.0 OS. However, we all now Nokia is struggling to come back or rather trying so hard to reclaim thier long lost glory, but coming out with Nokia D1C tablet! It's a no no! It doesn't make sense considering the specs on geek benchmark. Below is the leaked Nokia D1C specs:

Apple recently released their new IOS 9.3.2 update that include different bugs fix. But a day after this update was live, a new problem emerge, "Error 56" .

According to users report, this "error 56" is an error regarding hardware. This error prompt them to connect their device to iTunes, which unfortunately, doesn't work. This "error 56" has reportedly been causing serious issues, though not all, iPad owners, bricking their new 9.7-inche ipad Pro in the process.

According to Apple comment on iMore today, warns users to stick with the 9.3.1 update for now until a fix is available and also state that they are working on a fix. below is Apple's exact words:

"We're working on a fix for an issue impacting a small number of iPad units that are receiving an error when trying to update the software," wrote the spokesperson. "We'll issue an update as quickly as possible."

Nokia today has announced that they will be back again on mobile business again which will be licensed under a new name HMD Global Oy.

According to Nokia Press Release, HMD Global Oy is base in Finland, The new company has agreed to acquire all nokia rights from Microsoft. Though Nokia Technologies will not have direct investments with HMD but nokia will be on a seat of Board of Directors, And Arto Nummela, ex-Nokia executive and current head of Microsoft Mobile Devices will be CEO of the new company.

HMD will be led by Arto Nummela, a Nokia veteran who moved to Microsoft when the latter company took over the former's mobile business, Arto Nummela - until now is the head of Microsoft's Mobile Devices business for Greater Asia, Middle East and Africa. The president/Chairman will also be the Ex Nokia and current Microsoft executive, Nokia will get royalties covering its name and its IP. HMD is Nokia. don't get it twisted.

HMD global also has acquired "certain related design rights" from the Windows maker; it's too soon to say whether that means the distinctive polycarbonate and metal design we'd grown familiar with from Lumia will be returning, but that's likely to be the hope among Nokia fans

Nokia Featurephone will be making a come back with a new range of Android Smartphones and Tablets.

Nokia second coming with the mind of manufacturing Android devices might be too late and a total failure despite the fact that the company will have to rival other giant company, the like of HTC, Samsung, Apple, Huawei and the Chinese phone makers Xioami and others.
