I answered NO and they asked me to explain.

No or yes, it doesn’t really matter, I’ve seen people answer yes but later get the vaccinations done during medical while some answer No, with an explanation of “I will get it before interview”

Which ever answer you tick, you are still going to get vaccinated before interview. Though I answered No during my time.

My mum petitioned for me and my brother and we are already at the NVC stage. We have paid all the necessary fees and we are filing our Visa forms and about to start uploading documents.

The place of birth on my brother's NPC birth certificate carries Owerri while the one on his passport carries Mbaise. We are confused as to whether to use the information on the passport or birth certificate to fill the form.

He would have requested for another birth certificate that would tally with the information on the passport but he already submitted this current birthday certificate to USCIS. And knowing that USCIS transferred the case to NVC, NVC might have this current birthday certificate already.

Won't we complicate issues if they discover that we uploaded a different certificate

Let him use the name on the passport and also since the mbaise and owerri are in IMO state; I don’t think there should be any issue.

2. I would have been truthful if I we weren't filed for under different names than the ones on our educational certificates.

I'm a WAEC and B.sc holder for instance, but the name on my certificates is different from the one my mum used to file for us.

Let's say in the form I fill that I have a degree or have worked under my field of study (computer science) before, won't I complicate things for my self should they ever ask to see my certificate or my place of work? And if they do, what would be my fate if they discover my certificates carry different names..

Initially you said you’re having issue with irregularities on your brother place of birth, now you are saying your mom file with different names? Which is different from the one on your waec, I don’t get! Or you are just making an example of what you are trying to communicate? Get back to me on that.

Anyways, regarding your initial question, I make some google search and it appear mbaise and owerri are in IMO state. if your brother passport states mbaise instead of owerri then he should stick with the mbaise. Let your mother use the details on the passport to file for your brother if she has not filed yet.

Btw, what birth certificate does your brother have, is it the one from NPC or normal local govt birth certificate? If it’s local government, then he should get the npc with the right place of birth on the passport. If not it shouldn’t be a yardstick since mbaise and owerri are both in IMO state.

Regarding your questions;

1. First, who’s filing for who; Is it that your brother is filing for you or you are filing for your brother or someone is filing for you and your brother?
• if the petitioner is the one that has different place of birth, then you the beneficiary should have no issue with that. Just follow the one on his/her passport.
• But if it’s the beneficiary, he should stick with the one on international passport. It’s more difficult to change details on government issued documents these days.


2. Your second question is simple, if you’ve worked just fill the organization/company you’ve worked with. And state your educational level; like the name of your primary school, secondary school and tertiary institutions if any.

If you didn’t have the privilege to go to school just state it. Be truthful in all your fillings, don’t complicate things for yourself.

Can be done when she’s naturalized. Once your mom become citizen, she’ll be the one to call NVC not you.

2. I believe you’ve not yet been approved? You’ll have to wait for the approval first. The lawyer cant do much, they’re just after the money the client will pay them. Trust me, you can do this yourself.

However, while you wait for approval, you can tell you fiancé to contact USCIS to inquire about your case.

You’ve two option here, it’s either you tell your mom to not apply for citizen yet

You allow her applied but you’ll have to let NVC know that you don’t want to opt out of the F2B.

Yes cancelled interview are been rescheduled.. fresh interview letter will start rolling in by April.

You are still on track, since the AOS you submitted has not expire, you have nothing to worry about. However, if the AOS expire before your interview, they will need to download and fill fresh AOS, in which you’ll take to the interview.

Please I need an advice on what to do next, my visa category is ir1 and I got interviewed in 2019 but was found inadmissible due to previous issues and was advised to seek a waiver which I got earlier this year, and I was notified the decision has been sent to Lagos and that I should contact the embassy for further questioning about visa issuance. Do I need to schedule visa appointment myself or do I need to wait for Lagos embassy to contact me on that

Contact Lagos embassy, I’m sure they’ll tell you what to do, don’t wait for them to contact you.

Nothing to do, just wait till you hear from them. Please when you ask questions always include your visa category, so we’ll know how to advice you.

The last time I checked it before today, the Case Last Updated was April last year and I checked it today it is showing November last year. What do I do my wonderful friends?

Nothing to do. If your Aunty is under the ban category, she’ll have to wait till the ban is lifted

What do you mean missing? You mean your sponsor has misplaced the AOS ? If that’s what you mean, you don’t have any issue, since you’ve already submitted it on the nvc and got DQ. You’ll not be needing it on your interview. However if the AOS you submitted has expired, tell your sponsor to download the current one and fill it out. Then they will scan it to you, you’ll need it on your interview. (You only bring current AOS form to interview if and only if the previous one you fill has expired; if it has not, there’s no need for it )

Yes! Ir1, Ir2 and Cr1, cr2 are all getting interviewed. And those cancelled interview appointments are rescheduled. Those in labor ban P10014 will have to wait till the ban is lifted
