Agriculture / Re: Profitability Of Pig Farming In Nigeria by dynamix101(m): 1:01pm On Jan 07, 2018 |
femu: haywhy17: Practically, yes. If you are dealing with the average breeds we have in Nigeria. If we talk about exotic breed, what will be the initial cost of the animal. If you decide to take the shorter route of feeding them to achieve greater weight in shorter time, 65 naira cannot feed them. Please outline here what formula you use that will cost you 65 naira and how many kg it will come out as. Also what is the weight gain expected per animal? This is practical, not theory |

maxipharo: Hello Nice write-up and an encouraging one. Piggery can be a rewarding experience, but in the long term. I have some observations and additions: 1. You didn't include the cost price of the pig which is around 5000-6000 for weaners and 12000 for growers. 2. You didn't account for cost of accommodation which averages 200 naira per month per pig. 3. Cost of attendant isn't included. 4. U said it takes 125 days or 4 months to achieve 50kg. In theory it's okay. In practical, it takes an average of 8 months from weaner age to attain 60kg. 5. Pigs require around 3kg of feed daily esp as they grow older 6. The cost per kg live weight is 420 naira as at today in oke aro. Outside farms sell for 470 thereabouts. Selling at 1100 means you are slaughtering and you then have to add 1500 as slaughtering cost minus the whole wahala of transporting, marketing etc. From this, the profit of 10,281.25 per animal (35kg X 293.75) will have been decimated. Pig farming can be a very rewarding experience but it's not a get rich scheme; it takes time and lots of it. If you aren't passionate, you will run in and run out as a lot of people have been doing. Software/Programmer Market / Who Can Design An Ecommerce Site Like Alibaba For Me?? by dynamix101(m): 10:15am On Dec 28, 2017 |
Good morning, My cousin and I want to design an ecommerce site for b2b companies like alibaba. The concept of that site is what we will like to employ with some tweaks. Can anyone design it? How long will it take and what will it cost us? Also, in terms of management and administration, what other software and hardware will we need? |

Good morning, Christmas has come early and i am dropping my own christmas present . I got a call on Sunday from someone in the East who wanted to purchase pork from me so he could resell. I saw it as an impossible endeavour both logistically and cost-wise. This week, the same issue came up. I have decided to drop some pointers so that everyone can be helped. The biggest problem any producer or manufacturer faces is the problem of disposal/selling of his/her products. Whenever people sell ebooks or do seminars, they focus so much on the profitability of the business (check out those mouthwatering millions) and how to make the business work; they conveniently, or maybe mistakenly, forget to talk about disposing the end product (i am talking to everyone, not just pig farmers). As a result, people enter the business and then are heartbroken when they cannot sell anything. With poultry, its worse. MARKETING OF YOUR PORK You have reared your pigs and they have attained market weight, how do you sell them off, especially if you arent in a pig community? Here are some suggestions: 1. Go down to real communities around or near you and make connections. Connections and networks are the net worth of every entrepreneur. Don't be too lazy or afraid to go out and make contacts with people who can buy from you. Please, be careful so that you don't get duped or owed. Cash is king always. 2. Why not forward integrate and control the entire process from start to finish, like i said above in one of my posts? Even if you dont have a piggery and are looking to tap into the business, sell pork and make money. as a producer, it becomes doubly rewarding because you end up making more money than you would if you sold them as live animals. Note that it is the processors of any product that make more money than the raw material producers. What are your views on the issue of marketing, whatever agricultural angle you might be coming from? What have been your experiences? Lets tackle this all-important issue and see if we can make a headway and make farming very interesting. N.B. A lot of people have been demanding for a comprehensive seminar that will practically discuss the entire process of pig rearing, from start to finish, embracing both backward and forward integration. I have been hesitant, but the question is this: will a seminar in 2018 be a good idea? Let me know your thoughts |

Dis daddy freeze. I dey look am. He has finished tithes and has entered the domain of the Holy Ghost who doesnt forgive blasphemy against Himself. This is always the problem when someone brings up a controversy against biblical teachings and has a large following. Now the devil is setting him up for destruction. I pity him cos he doesnt seem to believe hell is real. To his followers and supporters beware; whoever strenghtens the hand of the wicked will join in d judgement. |

Ola1emmy: Go to Obasanjo's poultry farm after Ifo, register and become a distributor. Or you can enquire from farms along badagry/seme axis. Their eggs are usually cheaper Once you have a source, try to raise funds the old-fashioned way; from family and friends. 1 Like |

Religion / Re: Primate Nicholas Okoh Speaks On Tithing by dynamix101(m): 5:32pm On Nov 14, 2017 |
The issue of tithing and its rightful place being in the Old Testament is very funny. Do we scrap the entire Old Testament because we are in the dispensation of grace? Do the 10 commandments become of no effect to us now? Do God's promises and instructions become of no effect to us now? Read this article with an open mind The scripture most frequently referenced regarding the tithe is indeed in the Old Testament (Malachi 3:10-12), but the tithe is also referenced in the New Testament. In Matthew 23:23, Jesus talks to the Pharisees, condemning them for tithing to the penny but neglecting the more important issues of justice, mercy and faith. He then goes on to tell them that they should in fact tithe, but that they shouldn't neglect the more important things. Jesus recognized the importance of keeping the tithe and we should, too. There are many practices in the Old Testament that don't make sense to us today, yet many of these ancient ways carry over to the New Testament law of grace as part of Christ's promise to not abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). For instance we no longer sacrifice animals but as believers we are called to offer ourselves up as a living sacrifice (Rom 12:1). Men no longer are required to be circumcised, but we all have a circumcision of the heart through the Holy Spirit (Rom 2:29). Most of us don't have grain and produce to bring to the storehouse, but we do have incomes that we can bring the first tenth of into the church. In other words, just because something is written in the Old Testament doesn't mean it lacks application to us today in some way or another. Zoe4Ever, left a comment on my previous article regarding this principle that I found insightful: When I think of Christians asking themselves whether "tithing" is commanded in the Bible, is an Old Testament or New Testament teaching, I wonder how many of these Christians "send back" the many scriptural blessings God has given His people in the Old Testament. How many people when they are blessed and given hope through the mention of God's works, words etc. through the Old Testament Scriptures say ‘I don't receive this or that blessing or confirmation because it's in the Old Testament'?" While it is true that we are no longer under the old law, that we are under grace, we must not forget the purpose of grace: to help us live for God and do the things He wants us to do. Romans 8:4 tells us that Jesus came that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, not so that we could altogether dismiss it. And Romans 3:21-31 talks about how we have righteousness through faith and not through following the law, but verse 31 adds "Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law." God's grace gives us the power and ability to tithe! Let us not be deceived by false doctrine and teachers 1 Like 1 Share |
