The part of Lagos Island you went to needs government attention but it does not constitute the whole of Lagos Island like you suggested.

As you can see from your pics, most of those people living there contribute to the problems you saw.

You said you went to spend Xmas with your family, can you encourage them to be cleaner and stop putting their waste in the drainage- it blocks it and leads to flooding and makes the road unmotorable. That is not the fault of the government.
