When you experience a block and you login to poetry sites, please don't make it a habit to always read the works of great poets. Login to the member area and read the works of normal people like us who in the realest sense of the word aren't actually poets. When you read too much of those classics, you tend to set some unrealistic standard for yourself, and setting one of those standards is one of the most dangerous things that can happen to a poet.

You're a guy? That's amazing! E383, you know, I talked to other writers, and I realized that thing is quite normal. Interestingly, I've been reading some book that was written about Rupert Brooke and I've seen numerous instances where he took long breaks from writing anything. I suspect that the blocks caused those.

When that happens again, don't try too hard. Just login to allpoetry.com or poemhunters.com and read poems from the genre you tried to write to about. It helped me conquer some blocks, but some were just too stubborn to be conquered even if I had read all of the Shakespearan sonnets. I know those ones when they come. They're good friends. I just close up whatever device I'm writing with and start doing something else.

It was the best time to write something. Thanks though.

When I saw you trying to critique other people's works in your rude way, I thought you would be able to write poetry without flaws. You're a big joke! You don't even know how to punctuate correctly.

You can't spell shrieking correctly.

You can't even spell encountered correctly.

You don't even know how to spell thorns.

You can't spell untattered correctly.

You can't spell tear-filled without error.

You don't even know when to use the comma or the full stop, or where to even place them.

You've been jumping around all day and you don't even know the difference between 'is' and 'it is'.

I'd severely punish my 12 year old brother for these mistakes. You should just stop trying to write poetry already. You won't get anywhere for all great poets were known with the most extreme of humility. You're an embarrassment to poetry and all the poets of the world; the living and the dead of them, if this is all you can offer. I can already see Robert Frost covering his face in shame for this balderdash you just posted.

It can be very difficult to come up with inspiration for a poem, especially since my inspirations come with emotions embedded in each word, phrase or sentence. I have been struggling since after the competition to write a line.
