Chayi, people can lie..all in the name of politics...my own very mother is a director in that organisation. Alhaji Marshi the outgoing FIRS boss has been acting since 2012... appointed by GEJ. National assembly and top management wanted Marshi out but he enjoyed unwavering protection from GEJ...by our law, Marshi shud act for 6 months only, he acted for 3years plus...Samuel Ogungbesan has been coordinating director and due for that Chairmanship since 2012 but for GEJ and Marshi's interest....Marshi has delivered on promise...was not sacked because he was never a substantive chairman...he only acted..

Get your facts right before you spew rubbish here in the name of politics

Am not into politics and you are a cheap liar whop has no respect for his country or fear of God.

You dare to get on this forum to deny this and claim your mum is a director in firs.....your mum is then protecting her so called job.

Tell her to please fear God and either speak the truth or keep quiet, rubbish!!!!! Imagine,do u feel I will get on public forum and just state this because of politics or what?

Dear Friend, here is your response as promised.I have made attempt to compare the perceived worse government (abacha’s) that Nigeria has ever had to joesatan’s

In the order of successive administrations in my lifetime, I think this would be the worst in terms of delivery of services, in terms of organisation, in terms of even the style of governance, in terms of transparency, in terms of economic management and of course in terms of security. So this is the worst government. You would say maybe Abacha was worse but you can understand Abacha was a military dictator. Nobody voted for him. He just hijacked power and he did whatever he wanted with it. But even within that framework as you can see, the Abacha regime is actually better than the Jonathan regime and I’m sorry to say this because you could almost feel that this country was more secure during those days. The value of the naira under Abacha’s regime was higher than the value of the naira under Jonathan regime; in fact it’s double that rate now. There were even better roads, in some cases better schools, in some cases better opportunities.

In terms of performance, President Jonathan is the most clueless among his elected counterparts since independence. You cannot be the best performer and yet find it difficult and impossible to defeat the terrorism under you watch for over four years. In terms of achievements, he has achieved the least among his elected counterparts since independence. You cannot be the most achieved and yet call corruption mere stealing and do more or less nothing to alleviate the poverty of the land. Also there is only little on the ground to reflect the huge budgetary allocations from 2010 till now. From 2010 through 2014, Nigeria’s approved budget is approximately N23.42 Trillion. See breakdown by year : Year Approximate value (N) 2010 4.61t 2011 4.484t 2012 4.7t 2013 4.987t 2014 4.64t Total 23.42t This is an enormous amount that is only read on the pages of the dailies but barely felt in the key sectors of the nation and in the lives of the citizen. You cannot have so much as president within your disposal but do so little and flaunt yourself as the best in Nigeria since independence. It is absolutely derogatory and absurd! Nigeria has had four elected presidents since independence whose individual achievements no matter how controversial they are, are far better and cannot be compared to that of President Good luck Jonathan. Starting from Chief Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe (16th January 1966 – 1st October 1963), to Shehu shagari (1st October 1979 – 31st December 1983), then Chief Olusegun Obasanjo (29th May 1999 – 29th May 2007) and Umaru Musa Yar’Adua (29th May – 5th May 2010). President Good luck Jonathan has been president for approximately six years. I would not say that for these years that he has done nothing. Saying that would mean exaggerating the scenario, but the truth is, his achievements do not in any way match up the weight of resources and strength within his disposal. Don’t be deceived by the recent fall in Brent crude oil price. His administration is the richest since independence yet the most under-achieved. Yes, assessments of the key sectors of national life under President Jonathan shows that the president has not in any way performed up to expectation. Yes, it is true that the North Eastern parts of the country have been faced with incidents of insurgency and terrorism, especially in the last few years. But you cannot possibly say that is the reason why the president has not been able to tackle corruption squarely. Or is the insurgency also responsible for the use of force and military power against the opposition? Does terrorism prevent him from fixing the health sector too? And others? Of course, I do not shy away from the fact that majority of these challenges have been before this present administration, but at the same time all actions on ground show that this present regime is not willing to address these challenges and his actions so far have only aggravated the challenges and made them look unsolvable.

By the time you look at the entire corruption that Abacha perpetrated in his five years in power I guess, we are looking at 10billion dollars. Jonathan’s people stole at least 20 billion in less than 3 years from just sales of crude oil alone. If you add that to what the oil marketers or importers stole, which was 6.8 billion dollars, so you are looking already at 28 billion dollars stolen under Jonathan’s regime which is three times more than what Abacha stole during his regime. I’m not making this comparison saying that Nigerians deserve any of these leaders from Babangida to Abacha and the rest of them.

There is a difference between what the government says its doing and what we know the government is doing. For example, they claim to have created 1.5 million jobs and we have been asking for them to provide us the sector of the economy or society where those jobs were created and nobody can give us answers. If the U.S says they have 240,000 jobs, they can tell you how many of them were from the hospitality business, academics, road construction. All of the sectors that we count, . They said a few months ago that they had turned around the power sector by privatising the power sector. As we speak today, you and I know that they have only invested more money in buying more darkness for the Nigerian people.

RECENT POVERTY LEVEL REPORT ON NIGERIA: http://dailyindependentnig.com/2014/05/world-bank-report-poverty-nigeria/

I don’t think the North and the South are the issue, what Nigeria needs is a competent president, whether he is from the North or South; it is immaterial .

We want competent governors that will serve the people, whether blue, black, from the moon or south we are not concerned with that, and I think Nigerians should stop voting people on the basis of where they come from. President Jonathan is the most incompetent president in Nigeria f

PDP is only afraid of the emergence of APC; they are aware of the strength of the party and certainly APC is an alternative to PDP

Am not disputing that marshi was acting its public knowledge.

But let's reason here even if u will not believe, marshi was acting 3 years as agianst the stipulated 6 months and the president all of a sudden less than 2 weeks to election put in a new chairman?? Hmmmmm.

If you have people most especially at top level management, none of them will tell u it was because he was acting.

Politics / Re: "It's Going To Be A Very Difficult Year," Ngozi Okonji Iweala (CNN) by eagleeyez: 9:17pm On Mar 18, 2015
tbaba1234:
Oil price slump is choking this OPEC economy
March 18

Nigeria's currency is trading at a record low against the U.S. dollar, the stock market has slumped 15% this year --making it the worst performer in Africa -- and financial reserves are being depleted.

"It's going to be a very difficult year," Nigeria's Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala told CNN. "We've had a more than 50% fall in the price of oil and that has naturally impacted the economy."

Nigeria is currently pumping about 1.8 million barrels of crude oil per day, making it OPEC's 7th biggest producer --alongside Angola.

It relies on oil for 70% of its income, and needs a price of nearly $120 a barrel to balance its budget, according to Deutsche Bank.

The slump has taken world prices below $43 a barrel, their lowest level in six years, and that has placed the economy under severe strain.

It is a crisis that is affecting rich and poor. Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote, the richest man in Africa, has lost over half of his $25 billion wealth in the crisis, according to Bloomberg. Much of that has been wiped out by the falling currency and the stock market crash.

However much pain Nigeria is feeling, it's not the worst performing oil exporter.

The Russian economy is set to shrink by 5% this year, with international sanctions exacerbating the impact of the oil price collapse, and Venezuelan GDP could fall by 7%.

Still, the IMF has slashed its 2015 growth forecast for Nigeria to 4.8%, from 7.3% last October. And the government is having to cut spending in many areas.

"Nigeria is actually still growing and still one of the 20 fastest growing economies in the world," says Okonjo-Iweala. ""We've had to cut back on some investments but to support growth, we've taken the little we have and focused on high priority, high impact investments - mostly in infrastructure and health."

Nigeria faces another a more immediate problem.

It is set to hold one of the closest elections in its history. Political uncertainty and the threat of instability, and even violence, during and after voting has meant many investors and businesses have adopted a "wait and see" approach.

The elections have already been postponed by six weeks after the military announced they could not guarantee security on voting day due to a new military offensive against Islamist terror group Boko Haram.

Yes of ccourse, tell us about the treasury also....what of the directives you give firs? And the circular you sent round to all goverment and agencies and parastatals to stop employment as government has no funds for recruitment.

Am not going to respond to any one who disagrees with me. Go and do your investigation

One main reason why jonathan is sacared of losing is because the true state of our treasury will be exposed amongst other atrocities he has committed.

For his own good......hmmmm

Dear NL, I went to a chemist to explain my health challenges but was referred to see a doctor in a nearby clinic.

When I got to the clinic, being my first time ever to visit a normal hospital set up, I was confused with protocol however got to see the doctor and gave him all the answers to the numerous questions he asked.

He told me that I should run some test including taking sample from my vagina.

I was told to come for the results the next day which I did. Before now, my boyfriend has done some test and insisted I should see a doctor.

When I got to the doctor for my results and probably to start up treatment, the doctor was in his office, strangely he stood up and hugged me warmly. I was like could it be because of my new hairdo or makeover?

He offered me a seat and raised a topic off the main issue why I came.

I wasn't moved until he keep talking as if he wanted to tell me that I failed an exams. Curiosity were all over me until he finally told me that I have the deadly virus.(HIV)

The gum I was chewing just fell off my mouth, I started sweating on my palms and nose. I held the chair firmly for support but was almost dead.

He told me that it was for my best interest to know now than later when I might come down with bigger signs and symptoms.

I never told him to include HIV test,

I can barely eat since then.

I have lost weight.

I see the doctor as a monster.

Please advise me on what to do.

This happened to my friend in bayelsa.
She needed advise if at all she will listen.

I will want to believe the test request was handed over to her, did she not go over it?

Any way repeat the test after 6 months which is window period .you might wish to report him to medical council and besides its wrong of him to have hugged u. That's unethical, you are not his friend and that isn't encouraged as such might be perceived as sexual advance

If it turns out u r indeed positive, not the end of the world. Millios are living with it including some of our ogas at the top. It does not stop u from getting married and having children.it also can't stop u from having a good job. Companies are not allowed to run hiv tests you have a right to decline the test and they dare not discriminate.
