Culled from https://www.facebook.com/kelechiadieleandco Simply put, a contract is an agreement which the law would recognize and enforce. The key word is agreement. Every contract involves an agreement. However, it is not every agreement that qualifies as an enforceable contract. For there to be an enforceable contract, some key features must be in place. First, there must be an offer, which is a promise made by one party to the other party with the intention that it shall become binding on the maker once it is accepted by the other party. An offer must be distinguished from a mere invitation to treat. A vacancy advertisement, for example, is not an offer but an invitation to treat. What constitutes offer is the letter of application written in response to the vacancy. Secondly, there must be an acceptance. This is a total assent to the terms of an offer. Any modification of the offer is no longer an acceptance but a counter offer, which is open to further acceptance or rejection. For example, where A applies for the position of an Administrative Officer in B company as advertised by B, and B offers him a job as a Security Officer instead, what B has made is a counter offer and not an acceptance of A’s application which is the initial offer. It is then left for A to accept the counter offer or reject it, and until he accepts the counter offer, there is no binding contract. Thirdly, there must be consideration. This is the value, whether in money or otherwise given or given up in exchange for the offer. The law is that a party who has not furnished consideration in a contract cannot sue to enforce it, except the contract is under seal or made by deed. A contract is under seal when it is printed in the standard format and signed, sealed and delivered by the parties. Where A and B agree for A to supply 10 bags of cement to B, if A fails to supply as agreed, B cannot sue him for breach of contract except B had given value(consideration) pursuant to the agreement. This can be by way of payment of money or other forms of commitment. B can however sue for breach of contract if the agreement was made under seal or by deed. Mere promises not backed by consideration are called gratuitous promises. They are generally unenforceable. Thus a promise by a kind family friend to give me one million naira in a month’s time does not translate to a contract between us. It is unenforceable for the reason that I did not furnish consideration for the promise. Where the key ingredients of a binding contract as discussed above are lacking in any agreement, such cannot be regarded as a binding contract in law, neither can it be enforced in court. |
Before I comment on this post, I need to ask OP a few questions: 1. Are you a christian? 2. Do you believe in salvation? 3. Do you believe in the possibility of living a victorious life through knowledge of the Truth and faith in God?. If your answer to these questions is yes, then you have no business believing in spirit husbands and spirit wives. Here is my candid opinion borne out of knowledge: 1. Spirits don't marry. 2. Nobody can send spirit husband and spirit wife to another, it is absolutely not possible. 3. If you receive knowledge of the Truth in Christ, you would be enabled by the power of the Holy Spirit to live above the lusts of the flesh which produce all these struggles in the flesh that people give all manner of names out of ignorance. 4. If you continue to walk in the Spirit, you will continually live in victory over sin and all sorrows associated with it. 5. You are not meant to live under the bondage of any false spirit, in actual fact no one fights spirits by his physical strength. All you need is to seek God and serve Him, He it is that will set you at liberty from every yoke, protect and guide you. 6. If you are not married yet, you will do well to marry, cos that way you would be saved a great deal of struggle with the flesh. Your deliverance is in your hands, bro. Only the Truth can set you free. God bless you! |

Being an atheist is nothing to be proud about! Those who deny the existence of God are not wise, to put it mildly. They might as well deny the very air they breath! The surest protection from evil in all its ramifications is to constantly dwell in the Light of God! This can be achieved by recognizing the laws of God in creation and obeying them, and maintaining an unbroken commitment to doing good. |
[color=#000099]In preparation for our first baby, I and my wife tried some of these methods because we (particularly I) wanted a boy. Alas! we ended up with a beautiful baby girl. Ten months after her delivery, at a time when we were not even contemplating another pregnancy, my wife took in again and it turned out to be a baby boy. The moral of my story: There is no hard and fast rules about these things. They are largely subsumed in the sovereignty of the Almighty! He giveth to whom He willeth What He willeth at the time He willeth. Period. |
The Fool says in his heart "There is no God". No be me talk am. Atheism is definitely not the way to go. Doesn't matter how many "prominent" people have taken that route. They sure have all erred! I rest my case. |
She is real and natural....no fake accent, no fake complexion, no fake nails, hair and eye lashes; and certainly no fake boobs and bum! Her natural fair complexion and the right curves in the right places played a big part, but the decisive things for me were her calmness of spirit, good home training, sense of economy and contentment, her mad love for me, and above all her fear of God! |

It is a fallacy! Did anyone hear about spirit husbands/wives in the olden days when boys and girls were married in their early teens? This phenomenon was brought about by westernisation and modernisation of society. By the time the youth of nowadays finish from university, get a job and settle down to marry, they are either in their late twenties, or in their thirties! Meanwhile their bodies have been ready for intimacy and procreation right from their teenage years. Is it any wonder then that once in a while most unmarried youths experience intimacy in their dreams? It is only natural! Nature abhors a vacuum. My opinion, though. |
There's this very meaningful song by Etcetera. The title is something like "Ring the Alarm". The song is deep and captures the reality of the Nigerian situation. Any body agree? |

The idea of compulsory celibacy was an aberration ab initio. It is against the laws of nature and against the will of God. It was only a matter of time. |
]Fake story, Shikina! |
I completed my NYSC in 2006. I had saved up about 45K. Got back to Lagos and added some money to make it 54K with which I purchased Intercontinental Bank shares being sold on Public Offer then. The shares I eventual yielded 178k by February, 2008 when I sold same. Sadly though, I reinvested the whole money in purchasing Insurance penny stock, which started nosediving shortly. Today, the investment is worth less than 30k! I guess thats the way the cookie crumbles! Thats my NYSC story folks! |
Its so sad that many Nigerians find it difficult to reason objectively without adding sentiments. Would it be wise to argue that one convict should be left off the hook because other criminals are not apprehended and prosecuted? That, to me is a logical fallacy. Justice should be allowed to take its full course! |
This story looks made up! I very much doubt the authenticity of the story. It is true that stuffs happen, but this sounds like a carefully crafted fallacy, contrived to induce skepticism, or at best make people laugh and wonder! |

Ha ha ha ha.....! I still dey lafoooooo! Dr. DONATUS!!!! Akpabio on point! Who knows how much he must have donated to those folks to clinch this award. It is laughable. Though he has done much better than most governors in Nigeria in terms of infrastructural development, putting him in perspective at the African stage is taking the joke too far. |
