Health › Re: As A Nurse, These 7 Health Mistakes I See Nigerians Make Too Often by eagleonearth(m): 7:17am On May 29 |
nkirukaloveth: I am writing this not to scare anyone, but because many health problems we battle today could have been prevented with early awareness.
As a Nurse, there are some mistakes I keep seeing people make over and over again.
1. Ignoring symptoms for too long Many people wait until a sickness becomes unbearable before seeking help. That persistent headache, unusual bleeding, constant weakness, or repeated fever should not always be ignored.
2. Self-medication without proper guidance Because “someone used it and got better,” many people take random medications. Sometimes symptoms may reduce while the actual problem continues underneath.
3. Not drinking enough water You’ll be surprised how many people function daily while severely dehydrated. Water affects energy, skin, concentration, digestion, and even headaches.
4. Poor sleep habits Sleeping at 2–3am daily and expecting your body to cooperate forever is risky. Rest is not laziness; your body repairs during sleep.
5. Ignoring preventive checkups Many illnesses are easier and cheaper to handle when discovered early.
6. Normalizing stress Everything cannot be “I’m managing.” Constant stress affects both mind and body.
7. Waiting for sickness before caring for health Health is not only about treatment. Prevention matters too.
Health problems don’t always start loudly.
Sometimes your body whispers before it screams.
What health mistake do you think Nigerians make the most?
Let’s discuss. I was awake by 3:46am reading this and when I got to no 4, I knew you were talking to me. I did not read further I quickly dropped my phone, closed up my blinds and slept , woke up 2hrs later to finish up the rest and type this. I am going back to sleep after typing this. |

MEGA4BILLION: This most happened when the lady in question is a big fan of her mother. Totally in support of her mother's character and attitude Even when she is not. These traits are traditionally ingrained as a bloodline. If the mother constantly quarrelled the father, tendency is that the daughter will toe that path. Law of unconscious assimilation of what we see everyday is the reason most people don't raise children in a ghetto. That same law works in a girl who is constantly with the mother. Only exception to this rule is a girl who has dedicated her life to Christ and actively following his precepts, not a church goer oo. |

Precious201010: I no fit talk wetin dey my mind again, because I don even dey pity U... Character or habit is one thing U can't change in a person...
Avoid any lady that is always on tick-tock, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, especially when she's jobless...
I had one like that, if I buy data 1.5gb for 300 Naira it'll take me for at least 3 to 4 days, but her one 1.5GB doesn't last up to 4 hours, and she expect me to be buying for her, I politely told her that I can only send data to her once in a while not everyday..
Secondly even me as a man I do go to the market to buy things, cook and eat before leaving the house, but she as a lady doesn't cook at home, she prefers eating outside in expensive restaurants, and her salary was 75k ..
Each time I try talking to her about planning, she'll keep telling me that she didn't come this life to suffer, my brother I no even seek for advice anywhere, I quietly abandoned ship, she called and begged and explained everything, I just told her that I cannot afford her lifestyle....
As it is now, if U mistakenly marry that lady you're completely finished.... how can someone earning 75k be eating in an expensive restaurant? It means the money will finish in 3 days max. That means she is an olosho. Oloshoism bankrolls her prodigality. |

Romance › Re: “When You Get Married, You Will Feel It”- Man Warns Ladies Using intimacy gadgets by eagleonearth(m): 9:23am On May 21 |
spiceadole: As a single lady,it is better to use intimacy gadgets than actually having sex with men,if you cannot control your urges.
That's my point and there is nothing wrong with it. Having sex with a man outside the confines of matrimony will damage a lady MORE than using intimacy gadgets in her private space. well the aftereffect of the use of intimacy gadgets is the undertone of this thread. From a Christian perspective, a woman can suppress her urges and wait for her own man. I guess the argument here is now perspective based though. |

spiceadole: It is still you that will judge a woman harshly by the number of men she has slept with. Better to use intimacy gadgets than indulging promiscuity that comes with regrets, diseases and slut shaming. Bringing a goat to a tether and bringing a tether to a goat's neck is one and same thing. The way promiscuity damages you as a woman is same way love gadgets and masturbation damage you too. End result will be dissatisfaction with your permanent partner. Mistermoon: Please, I need advice on what to do. The community disconnected electricity supply to our compound because the landlord did not pay a community electrification due (money for transformer) that predates our tenancy and the landlord gave only me a quit notice with 30 days ultimatum because I was the only one brave enough to demand that he pays the due so that electricity can be restored to the house.
I want to take him up legally but I need guidance on how to go about it plus L do not personally know a lawyer. you cannot fight a house owner and win except he did something against the law like forcefully breaking into your house. Landlord can wake up and fire you from his property for reasons best known to him. He is not Called lord for jokes. Romance › Re: What Did She Do That Made You Realize She Wouldn't Qualify As Future Wife? by eagleonearth(m): 9:27am On May 20 |
Fiscus105: Wen she visited, I realised that she is a type of woman, that wants husband to join her in doing house chores, "if I do 2 he must do 1".
This is a lady that was not working then ooo, I would go to office, while she doing nothing at home, yet expected me to come back and join her in the kitchen, infact, wen she served me food, she still wanted me to go and serve myself water, this is a lady who sang like angel in choir department oooo.
In summary, she is a type. I would be struggling to control, and whenever a man lost his position to be in charge of his marriage/family. He is finished.
Ten years after I discarded her, she was still in the wilderness of singleness, perhaps God has shown her Mercy now. Exactly. Feminist in disguise who drag position with men. They will die single most of them. I am closely observing one who is 35yrs at the moment to see if I can have anything to do with her. |

Business › Re: Anybody Telling You Money Isn’t Important Has Probably Never Really Suffered by eagleonearth(m): 12:01pm On May 16 |
Dpsychologist: Mu At some point in life, many Nigerians stop chasing motivation and start chasing survival. At this point is when reality humbles all those sweet sounding quotes people post online.
“Money isn’t everything.” “Just be happy.” “Follow your passion.” “Love is enough.”
This are Nice words but try hearing them when your rent is due, your mother is sick, your account balance is ₦842, your younger ones need school fees, and your phone is suddenly on airplane mode because too many people are calling for debt. Reality changes perspective very fast.
Let’s be honest with ourselves for once. Money may not buy happiness directly, but lack of money can create a kind of stress that drains happiness from almost everything else.
Anybody that has stayed awake at night calculating bills understands this. Anybody that has entered a hospital in Nigeria without enough cash understands this. Anybody that has watched opportunities pass because transport money or application fees were missing understands this.
Even peace of mind behaves differently when money enters your life. Suddenly you eat better, sleep better, move better, think clearer, help more people, and breathe easier.
This is reality and no, this is not worshipping money. It is simply understanding the world we live in.
Even spiritual spaces run on finances whether people admit it or not. Churches need land, Mosques need maintenance and Outreaches need logistics.
Sound systems, generators, welfare, transportation, media equipment, all require money. Yes Prayer matters, faith matters and haracter matters. But pretending money is “not that important” is one of the biggest coping mechanisms people use against the pain of financial struggle.
In fact, many moral decisions people praise today become easier when basic needs are already covered.
Poverty pressures people psychologically. It can make intelligent people desperate, good people compromise, talented people abandon dreams, relationships become strained and Mental health suffers quietly.
This is why financial stability matters deeply. This is not because money makes someone superiorbut because survival itself has become expensive.
Want to eat healthy? Money.
Want good healthcare? Money.
Want stable electricity? Money.
Want to relocate your parents from hardship? Money.
Want to raise children properly? Money.
Want freedom? Most times, money is attached somewhere.
This is the painful truth many people avoid:
A lot of suffering in this country is not caused by lack of intelligence. It is caused by lack of financial breathing space.
So nobody is saying worship money blindly but stop romanticizing poverty. Stop acting like struggling endlessly is some badge of spiritual purity.
There is dignity in being financially stable. There is peace in not panicking over every emergency. There is power in being able to solve problems without begging.
So yes, build character, have values, have faith, have purpose. But also build income because in the real world, purpose without financial structure quickly turns into frustration.
Make money ethically, Learn skills, Invest wisely., Increase your value and Create opportunities for yourself because whether people admit it publicly or not, money quietly affects almost every part of adult life. while I appreciate the fact that money is extremely important in our day to day adult life, I must say that your write-up has an undertone of mockery to faith. Paul said that he understands first hand what it means to be rich and what it means to be poor. It is okay to arrive at your lowest at some point in your life in order to appreciate what the homeless, destitutes, and less privileged pass thru everyday. See, sometimes, it takes your lowest to discover a hidden ability in your life and also discover an invisible hand that can provide. Hardwork, skillfulness and daily assertions cannot be overemphasized but a man can still hit his chest and tell you that if birds eat without working, he can also enjoy same grace. If all you think from morning till night is money and how to make it, there will be no space in your head for God. You can get all the money you want and still be suicidal. Money is an instrument meant to work for us and not be chased vigorously. So summarily, God(faith) first. Then money can come in and not the other way around. |
