ETH, sha. Very sluggish coin. Will keep accumulating.

Boss Jedisco, ADA seems like a hyped coin sometimes.

For me, it is all about real user case scenarios, before future potential. I thought of buying this but skipped. Sticking to Eth as a safer bet for my core portfolio You're a TA guy so you may know better.

Any idea when eth will moon? lots of institutional guys lately. Some say July.

Personally, I dont bother so much about the news... I focus more on the charts... I believe the news most times are already priced in

When something pumps very quick, the dips are also quick.

A measured move on the eith chart shows there's been an average of 35% increase between the last 3 peaks. That should correspond to between 0.0042-0.0044... I'd be looking to take 25% into eith at this level and watch what happens. Generally, I prefer taking profits on the way up rather than on the way down
Sure, bro.

Honestly, I am not too concerned with a correction (which must surely happen). I am keeping majority of what I have in theta till year end while I monitor the project.

The upside potential is too much. The team is solid. Sony just joined as a validator. Looking good so far.

if you are very much aware of the recent development surrounding theta coin & tfuel sudden price spikes?...$theta & $tfuel in 41 days time somewhere around 2nd week of apirl 2021 will launch the theta mainnet 3.0 that will produce the first genesis block meaning in a simple term; they will be migrating all their current erc20 compliant coins and tokens from the ethereum blockchain to run on their theta blockchain 3.0.
"for most of the other mainnet projects, the token price at the mainnet launch time is higher than that 90 days before and 90 days after the mainnet launch, which means the price increased before the mainnet launch and decreased after the mainnet launch"...look at $ont as at 2018, it was traded at $5.24 per coin before the launch... But today where is ONT coin sitting? At a stagnant $1.11 per coin position though temporal giving by the volatility nature of the crypto realm..a lot could happen to price actions with 24hrs..so many other altcoins tend to follow similar pattern prior to pre-launching of their mainnet or even testnet and a dwindling price of 10% to 400% afterwards..vechain, Tron, eos etc..they all went throw dz same pattern..and the one that happened most recently; $ada. It was trading at $0.8 - 0.9 per coin before the march 1st 2021 project Mary hard fork launch that will usher in the deployment of smart contract features for the creation of third-party dapps on cardano blockchain. We saw $ada spiking $1.30 per coin just three days before the launch...analysts described $ada as the next altcoin to take the moonshot to $10...but she currently sits at $1.12
$Theta and $tfuel will face same pattern and so it has been for several other altcoins before them.

My not-a-financial advice analysis.. I will wait for a dip of $theta or $tfuel to retest their support levels previous-one or two time back before going 50% in and apply the concept of dollar-cost averaging and buy 25% more should it dip further, another 25% more during the price dip episodes probably...then wait it all out with my use of proper stop-loss and OCO LIMIT, for a week after the launch to dispose all my $theta bags and just like some previous projects back, there is always a staggering month or two of price dip after the mainnet launch...I may come back and buy 50% more from my available bal. And look elsewhere.
Why should it have to be this way? a little lesson on repeated pattern of crypto history.

Posted below is an extract from the
21CRYPTOS |
MAGAZINE
How Mainnet Launches Affect Price was written by David Akilo, and it’s included in issue #12 of 21Cryptos Magazine:

So, what’s a mainnet?

A mainnet is a blockchain network that is capable of transferring a digital currency from a sender to a recipient. This is the network where transactions take place on a distributed ledger and are a step-up from testnets which merely test the transaction functionality of the blockchain network. The mainnet helps give investors and speculators confidence in the practicality or real-world application of the project.
Does a mainnet launch really determine project value?
Wouldn’t it be great to have a trusted indicator for knowing when the price of a coin will go up? Some investors think a mainnet launch is the best way to tell if a coin will reach the ‘moon,’ but the truth is, it doesn’t always pan out this way.

Paying some attention to the crypto market will reveal that many tokens get huge spikes around the time of their mainnet launch; this is no surprise since we have already established the fact that mainnets boost the investor’s confidence in a project. However, something else happens after the initial price hike, the value gained seems to trickle down a few weeks after the mainnet.

There are two possible reasons for this. It could be that there has been a miscalculation regarding the actual value of the project or the price of these tokens has been artificially inflated only to be sold off for profit. Any of these two outcomes are realistic in the current crypto market; however, it is difficult to actually get a read for how mainnets affect cryptocurrencies, because the current market structure’s loose regulations make it tough to determine the real base value for any cryptocurrency.

coolwe shall see..#teamHODLERS! we will hoard for life...but in the meantime a little 5-20% bull rise in the weekly altcoin market spot trading won't hurt or strip me of my hodler's badge. I should to be both...bcuz my loyalty lies in the profits I make off selling and buying cryptos and not to some hibernating nomenclature extension called "hodling".
Brother, na money all of us dey find o whether trading or holding! All is allowed.

Good feedback though, you are right. We should be prepared for anything.

Theta have since switched from erc20 to their own mainnet. This version 3.0 is an improvement to staking and burning of tfuel. In their launches so far, price has steadily increased apart from the huge dip in March last year.

Thank you Theta, and Tfuel.

Thanks Jedisco and Sailor. Still riding both since $2 and ,$0.03.

How do you know people have benefited? Because most times the same people replying thanking the poster seem to be posting too.

Yes, it can benefit, but it can also ruin many. Besides, why post what you cannot defend? It is important that they state that it is copy paste so as not to mislead people o! It is that simple.

If a person cannot defend what they are posting or is NOT honest enough to say that they are not the author nor can discuss the stocks, why should we encourage it then??

My brother if I'm not planning to hold for 5 years, I no want. Statistics shows that long term investors gain more. If that's the case why are you stressing yourself doing short term/swing trades when the one that pays you more (long term) does not require much stress.

Another short squeeze? Isn't that strategy exhausted?
That's the thing with these wallstreetbet picks...no one knows whether or not. But I think for majority, that ship has sailed already.

The latest fad now seems to be cannabis stocks. Very volatile and risky, though some people make money from it, most will be left holding the bag.

If the intending stimulus plan works out, a boom might occur so stocks may go up more until another correction. From what I have read so far.

Forget the hype. AMC is not a good stock to trade right now. They narrowly escaped brankruptcy due to the intervention of capital from private investors
True.

Some people are still hoping for another short squeeze. Mostly folks that missed the last one. GME seems better as they look like they are pivoting their business model from what I have read so far.

There are better stocks in the market than both of them.

I noticed this too.

So many traders forming pro based on copy paste without reference.

From my experience, there intention is not always good.
Sure. I honestly cannot say. It is not a crime to admit to being a learner. Many of them are newbies in investing but treat it as ponzi. On observing, you will notice a trend.

Whether to give off a better opinion of themselves or not, one cannot say. Because one does not want to be misunderstood as a person discouraging others, you are most times tempted to keep quiet and keep observing.

I can never know why a person will pretend to give information he or she cannot defend. This copy paste habit discourages good conversation here. Sometimes they will even modify the post a bit, sometimes over dramatic motivational posts are included..that's one of the reasons the thread is loosing it's value slowly, in my opinion.

Well, I hope things improve. I don't day trade but a lot of us like the learnings here.

I am not a cry.pto guru, I am a learner like many of us here. But I think it is good to still pass this on, as the senior guys have done.

While trying to learn trading and make quick money, remember that most of these coins are shitcoins and pump and dump schemes. Make sure your strongest portfolio holding is in the leaders of the pack - BTC, ETH.

And also read and research more on a few very good projects.

Cryptic is not ponzi.
There is no need for advertisements.
I don't know why people are still writing about it here.

The discussion is not wanted nor needed - the leaders of the gang have outrightly shown there disdain for it. Although the level of ignorance is shocking. Especially for Emma who subtlety compared it to ponzi with his "how market?" Post. I like the SEC post though. Shows the govt is saving face and will together look into the situation.

Go to the crypto thread, else they assume you want to "advertise" it to them.
InvestmentRe: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by EarlyCareer: 8:51pm On Feb 11, 2021
Liberty reserve is an interesting case study, but I am not sure it compares to crypto.

Also, if a person bases his or her financial decisions on ego, and not on doing some research or being slightly open minded to try and understand, then I don't know what else to tell you. If that person also does his or her research and decides not to invest, all well and good. I have learnt a lot reading all the insightful comments here for years. It is not all advice or tips I took too.

My brother, nobody wants your money or is advertising here as an agent...at least not me. Agent for who if I may ask?

If a discussion irritates you because it is not what you want to hear, then ignore. Since interest rates went down, different discussions have come up here, with arguments and counter arguments too. Don't be condescending. Also, it is not nice to mock people when they are down. Resist the urge to shalaye.

It is not by force.

Do not confuse a financial institution choosing the safe option of earning fees by being a custodian of crypto currencies while the party is on with meaning they will not be banned in future by all central banks. When they become banned, the likes of BNY Mellon, Paypal & Mastercard will loose nothing. Holders of crypto currencies will be the losers (big time). Be warned.
Earning fees, WITH the approval of some Central Banks who are also working on their own digital currency...I think you forgot that part.

People resent what they don't understand, but change is inevitable.

Few decades back, most of the present mainstream financial/investment instruments were non-existent. Stocks, Bonds, Banks and all, are only an improvement of existing systems.

Now, it's time for the old order to be revamped but many won't like it.

Someone/persons conceived the idea of stocks, banks, bonds and all. Now, we have some advancements on those ideas.

Let's not be too comfortable with the status quo. The future holds more. With open-mindedness and curiousity, we'll enjoy!

Innovate OR DIE of frustration.
Very true.

However, before anyone sticks his/her head in, please do your research. Read, read and read.

As long as low interest rates continue in this present world, innovation remains the key to survive.

- putting money in credible NDIC recognised digital banks like piggyvest and a few others for up to 13% p/a seems a better alternative for now compared to standard savings accounts and/or some mutual funds.

- NSE remains a very smart choice for anyone interested in stocks, however, if you are still interested in hedging against further devaluation of our naira, then sound US stocks or ETFs is the way. Bamboo and Trove are the leading guys for this. Both are SEC recognised. There is also no harm in playing in both NG and US stock markets.

EDIT: for Nigerian stocks, honestly, there are very few sound ones, follow Emma's picks, or join their thread here, for better learning.

- if you have the mind for huge ROI, or huge loss (depending on which coins you buy), then crypto is the future. Currency will be digital. It seems inevitable with the way it is going. Big countries are already looking at it, regulations will further legitimize crypto.

To the open minded, this seems the way to go. But as all have directly or indirectly said, it is YOUR money, only you decide how and where to put it. And you should also be ready to take the consequences with your full chest too.

To the close minded, we all make money at the end.

EDIT: the harsh truth is that close minded people may loose out eventually or not. The future belongs to innovation.

I am referring to diversification. It is good to spread your money across different classes of assets. I have about 5 to 10% in crypto. Some people have higher.
