PoliticsRe: PDP Rejects 8,000 Polling Booths Allocated To South-east by EasternLeopard: 11:14am On Aug 25, 2014
johnugwu: Yea if the whole of the north has 21,000, then it is not a big deal and i will advise that Metuh be ignored, but if it is only the northwest, or only northeast or only North central that has that number then it is a shame on INEC and need to be addressed.

But from what Metuh said in paragraph 3 line 2 then i will have to say that the problem of Nigeria is our politicians and we need to get rid of them asap.

Rawani: The population and land mass of the North far exceeds that of the SE, what is he screaming for? Common sense dictates that a higher number of voters requires a higher number of polling units, otherwise there would be congestion and consequent disenfranchisement of voters.

Sealeddeal: the whole of North has 21,000 or just the North west? If its the whole of North, then its not a bad thing if SE has 8,000.
Point of correction

8000 For the whole of Southern Nigeria

tochukwuifeduba: there cannot be any substantial response until after the Election. To crush boko haram we need total declaration of war against Boko harma. A DECLARATION OF WAR AGAINST NORTH EAST NIGERIA and bring them under MARTIAL LAWS!
Any such move now will be seen as a clandenstine move by PDP to undermine Apc voting capability

Go and bring the debt data cheesy
PoliticsRe: Ignorance Of Those Praising APC/ SW Debts by EasternLeopard(op): 6:00pm On Aug 24, 2014
arresa: I wonder why you didn't. Because you know nothing about it.

Your said Lagos state should do what japan did by establishing industries?

B honest with yourself and your flawed rants.

Pls ask questions politely for clarity

They won't agree with your because all your assertions are pointless and bigoted

But on the DMO debt list, your own state and entire region is on that list and you are yet to say anything about their debt which you can not show us one single thing they did with the same debt, not even a classroom...

Again, your flawed and ignorant argument in this thread is all about the same SW fixations, bigotry and lack of any sense of belonging...
I repeat

Go and bring out Lagos state debt data from 1999 - 2014

Prove me wrong and I will bow to superior point
PoliticsRe: Ignorance Of Those Praising APC/ SW Debts by EasternLeopard(op): 5:52pm On Aug 24, 2014
arresa: If you feel like changing topic or moving your goal post, you need to start a new thread to do that.

This thread as titled says people like me defending the SW and APC states regarding their debt are ignorant because they are not doing the right thing with their debts and also that they need to invest in profit making enterprises...

After forcing you be specific, you raised key areas which I patiently dealt with one by one and in the process exposed your ignorance and knowledge about Lagos state.

I set out not only to prove you wrong, but also to back up my views that you are clueless and ignorant which obviously you are and this is not insulting you. Ignorance means lack of knowledge so obviously, you failed to display that knowledge hence me shoving it in your face and you really need to thank me for that effort.

If you need any info about rising or falling debt, visit the state's budget office website for info because it has nothing to do with the thread and your displayed ignorance.

Btw, you can not determine what's too much debt or not too much debt without proper analysis of debt to income ratio, loan terms and agreements.

You need to get off this layman and ignorant track, it's really embarrassing...
I want you to get it, so that you can show the world that you never understood what debt management is.

Since you are good with bringing out data just as you did

Go and bring out Lagos state debt data from 1999 - 2014 so that we can know if it is rising or falling and to know if it is being reduced. cool

When you do this and prove me wrong, I will accept I thought poorly.
PoliticsRe: Ignorance Of Those Praising APC/ SW Debts by EasternLeopard(op): 5:45pm On Aug 24, 2014
pheliciti: Amusing that you accused someone of insulting you but you have in one fell swoop accused other people of being myopic or blind because their point of view is different from yours. You should apologise to all you accused of being blind or myopic.
You have suggested that govt should invest in transportation, micro credit, agriculture etc. Please think again, is it the govt that cannot manage just civil servants that would run after defaulters of a probable micro credit scheme? Do you think it is by chance that successful economies left ventures like these to private individuals or do you suggest a communist model within a capitalism where govt competes with individuals in the market place?
It is not enough to dreg up ideas; take the next step and research those ideas before spewing forth. Man's senses are 80% accumulatory and 20% disseminatory.
I have not explained the micro-credit partnership with microfinance institutions and you have drawn conclusion

May I ask you

Are you here to discuss or argue

If you cared to go through my posts you will see where I mentioned privatization and involvement of investors.

Pls ask questions politely for clarity

I believe many SW people who are sincere with facts will agree with me

If any Igbo had defended bad debt, I will also caution his view
PoliticsRe: Ignorance Of Those Praising APC/ SW Debts by EasternLeopard(op): 5:18pm On Aug 24, 2014
arresa: It's kind of hypocritical or trying to be on both sides of your views.

Your basic argument said the state is not exactly what you just admitted that they are doing.

Put a little thought and logic into your argument.

Internet talk is cheap, give him some money to extend it to Czechoslovakia, I'm sure he'll do it.

The project is the largest public works project in West Africa and Nigeria and construction started in 2010 and with so much progress in less than 4 years, saying there's no focus again shows how ignorant you are per the project and details.

But it's set to move way more than 1 million people a day with the blue line alone moving almost a million per day.

On top of that, they have water transportation moving more people in addition and also the cable car system on tap to move hundreds of thousands more.

Try educate yourself a little about the issues before making ignorant assertions.

You sound like JJC. Lagos state under fashola built more housing estates than any government in the history of Nigeria, he's delivery more than 200 units per month and we post this on NL all the time.

1. The most ambitious and ground breaking transportation system in west Africa is going on in Lagos state.

2. The most ambitious and ground breaking Agric system in Nigeria is going on in Lagos state.

3. The most ambitious and ground breaking real estate program in Africa is going on in Lagos state.

Lagos state is probably the largest landlord in Nigeria and they've built more housing units than any government in the history of Nigeria.

4. The most ambitious and ground breaking waste management system in west Africa is going on in Lagos state.

5. Their Micro finance scheme is well funded and every Lagosian have access to it.

They have 29 empowerment skills acquisition centers in Lagos state graduating students with skills and they all have access to micro financing which happen to be part of their school curriculum...

Ask questions fist before passing ignorant judgments.

There's no area you focused on that they haven't touched and the fact that you are clueless and know nothing about their activities doesn't mean they haven't been there and done that.

If you really care about debts and economic growth, you should focus more on your own state and what they did with their accumulated debts.
If Lagos and other states are properly managing their debts, how come there are deep in bad debts

Since you are so good in finding records, pls tell us the yearly debt of Lagos from 1999 to 2014 let's check if the debt is rising or falling and also check if the debt is being reduced.

Once more thank you for presenting your fact maturely

I think we can now discuss an important issue that has brought shame to black Africa.

PoliticsRe: Ignorance Of Those Praising APC/ SW Debts by EasternLeopard(op): 10:44am On Aug 24, 2014
deeobserver209: You made a point there. But there's danger too. Indiscriminate increase of taxes, levies, property tax etc will increase the cost of living in Lagos State. High cost of living is directly proportional to High cost of doing business. This will further bring down the chances of wooing investors. Increasing cost of living means that Income and salaries will have to increase relative to the cost of living.
This is the red flag investors worldwide are always on the lookout. Remember they are profit driven business enterprise. If they'll have to spend a large chunk of their profits on salaries alone they'll have no option but to look the other way in search for a better investment climate.
That's what happened in the United States. It also happened to Japan. Am sure you're aware that so many US companies are currently doing business in China because of their low cost of living compared to the US.

Also many US companies are relocating to China because an average chinese can live a descent life on moderate salary when compared to a US citizen

but in present Nigeria situation,do u think fed allocation alone can b used to build infrastructures after personnel salary without loan?my broda , y did fg want borrow $1b to buy weapons to fight boko haram?y is fg now borrowing to develop most of d essential infrastructures?my broda,u were bin sentimental by mentioning jst sw because evry govt in ngr is liable,fg,all state govt, even local govt.
my broda,do u know mr president even once said fg will stop employing pple so as to build infrastructures? n dat personnel salary is taking too much money away from treasury, and am sure dis is applicable to all states of d federation
my own opinion.
First and foremost

I never said govt should not borrow

I said borrowed money should be invested into profitable ventures and if it must be invested into infrastructural development, extra should be borrowed and invested into ventures whose profits is huge enough to wipe off the loans and loan interests of both that of the infrastructure and the venture

Secondly

I accused all states of this bad practice of bad debts and presented a better alternative to debt management.

I picked on SW because of the blind support given by pro-APCs

arresa: OK, I apologize, sorry for insulting you. I wont do it again.

Now, can you please tell us specifically what for profit businesses they should be investing in?

Thank you...
HOW SW AND OTHER REGIONS CAN AVOID MASSIVE DEBT
(1)
I mentioned Fashola light rail project

If he had kept focused, by now he would have partnered with Ogun state govt to expand the light rail project into different parts of ogun. This will encourage people to relocate to Ogun to live while using the train services to transport themselves to work place in Lagos. The profit realised will go to Lagos, Ogun and the investors.

If it is designed to move 1million people everyday into the heart of Lagos and each passenger pays at least 200 naira, it will generate a daily gross profit of 200 million and net profit of 100million daily.

In a year it will be at least 30 billion naira. This money can be used to wipe off loans and interests of loans borrowed for infrastructural development with the aid of low taxes that will be collected.

(2)

Real Estate

These massive population expansion into ogun state, will need building structure for housing schools hospitals markets etc.

Lagos Ogun and the investors can aim at 1) Building structures that can accomodate at least 5million people
2) Buying and selling lands needed by at least 5million people

These will generate huge money for them. The net profit can help them wipe out infrastructural loans and their interests with the aid of low taxation

(3)

Agriculture

Lagos has huge market, money and industries. SW has huge land mass.

Lagos, SW and investors can pull their resources together to make available huge agricultural products for Lagos and SW market.

The net profit generated can then be used to wipe off infrastructural loans and their interests.

Lagos can also partner with some Middle Belt states to provide other agricultural products her SW allies can't get for her huge market

(4)

Waste and recycling business

Lagos should find a means to introduce environmentally friendly recycling methods with the intention to

1) Sell all sorts of recycled materials globally

2) Produced safe huge organic fertilizers for her Western/Northern farms and other customers in need.

Profits from this investment, can be used to wipe off other loans and their interests

(5)

Micro-Finance

I will discuss more on this

I will show you an ingenious way Lagos SW investors and micro-finance banks can

1) Help the economy grow through micro-financing

2) Make huge profit at low interests

3) Financially empower indigenes of SW which will lift them out of poverty

But first

I won't to know your view concerning this

Pls note

The profits generated will be used to wipe off loans and interests of that invested into infrastructures such as roads schools hospitals bridges etc.

This ideal is for all regions
