PoliticsRe: Boko Haram: Soldiers Mutiny, Demand Better Equipment by EasternLeopard: 3:43pm On Aug 22, 2014
tit: Some of us believe the only way to fight BH is to get the latest attack aircraft. We discount the fact that BH armory are weapons captured from the NA. Yet we want NA to acquire even more powerful weapons, which will end up getting in the hands of BH.
Why have I not heard any strident criticism of the NA allowing BH to cheaply acquire its weapons? But we want the NA to acquire more weapons?
Why are we not asking the NA why they are deserting in front of an enemy that has, at best, equivalent weaponry with them?
The NA problem goes beyond equipment. (We all saw how the US-equipped Iraqi army disbanded and abandoned their equipment for ISIS).
If Badeh and his chiefs do not weed out those with potential conflict of interest, the NA will continue to lose men, equipment and ground to BH.
God bless you

Man know man recruitment has churn out the worst set of inferior troops
PoliticsRe: We've Disappointed Those Who Want Nigeria To Break 'kutigi by EasternLeopard: 3:13pm On Aug 22, 2014
barcanista: Nothing has come out of the Confab, it was a complete waste of TIME, Resources and Space. There are fundamental issues that needs to be discussed eg We need True Federalism. I am not pro-secession(neither are my people) but truth me told, so many things are fundamentally wrong that need sincere young people to get on the round table and discuss for the growth of our country
I beg to disagree with you that the confab was a waste of time

I know we all want a certain control over our resources and government but you must know that life is in steps

To me

The confab has taken us one step closer to our dream if we want to say we are not fully satisfied

For example

Derivation will be pegged at 18% which is 7% closer to 25% as agitated by SE/SS

Also

New states will be created in the North freeing the minorities from the grip of hausa fulani kanuri elites. This will really change Nigeria politics, creating a cloud of progressive politics.

May I ask you

Please

What are the characteristics of true federalism

I wonder how the TIVs want God to bless them when they failed to practice justice fairness and equity

Its just like Abians who are neglecting Southern Abia especially their rights to rule and yet think the heavens will favour them

It is a well known fact that despite massive investment of FG in some parts of Nigeria, those places and her people never developed because of the conscious oppression of the Igbos

That GEJ's govt is better than other govt is because of his efforts in administering justice fairness and equity.

Boko Haram is toooooooo slowwwwww

Can someone give them war planes to help them capture all far North region and declare it Republic of Arewanistan or better still Boko Haramistan

GEJ pls redeploy all weapons to the South

BH continue its your right

Northern elders start asking for amnesty for BH who are freedom fighters and tell GEJ to withdraw military personnels because they are waging war against Arewa and Islam. grin

Where are those demanding amnesty for BH. Calling them freedom fighters, telling GEJ to withdraw soldiers 3yes ago, saying the military is fighting against Muslims, threatening to take Ihejirika to court

BH continue

GEJ forget them

GEJ's chinko is better than OBJ Buhari Shagari etc marginalization out of ethno-religious pure hatred

Do you also hate Igbos with passion

@OP

Thanks for the info

Just like any other national airport, be rest assured that it will be fixed

What OBJ Buhari Shagari refused to site in Igboland out of hate to keep Igboland subdued forever, GEJ and Stella made it a reality.

A flooded international airport is better than the absence of an international airport cool
PoliticsRe: Chidi Mokeme Slams Suggestion For The Creation Of More States by EasternLeopard: 1:46pm On Aug 21, 2014
POLITICAL ADVANTAGES OF STATES CREATION HE DOESN'T KNOW

1) It will separate minority ethnic groups from majority ethnic groups. This will increase the political influence of minority ethnic groups causing a change in Nigeria's politics
Eg We won't be seeing scenarios where a single ethno-religious group will hold the country ransom because a new policy do not favour them

2) In 20yrs to come, these minority ethnic groups will support weak central(true federalism) because they tend to believe in themselves than some majority ethnic groups that have failed to learn to survive outside federal powers

Pls note

No state is weak economically

It is our political-economic system that have made them weak.

When we practice true federalism, every states will be forced to develop her resources.

In exploiting their natural human technological business etc resources, labour will be employed. This will cause wealth to trickle down to the common

Eg imagine Kano state developing her agriculture. Labour will be employed causing wealth in form of salaries/ incomes reaching the ordinary citizens

But oil money given to Kano is an already developed wealth that do not need any labour to exploit. Since it needs no labour to exploit, the citizens will have no means of exchanging their labour of strength and brain for money. This leads to unemployment resulting to poverty

When will they overrun the far North and declare the Sharia republic of Arewanistan

If am Jona

I will buy new weapons and station it in the South so that when the real BH emerges, they would be wiped off

TamzyTamudo: those drawbacks they don't just like progress, they are simply enemy of progress.
Arewas are worst than draw backs

Unknown to them

If the South is hindered

The North wouldn't even make it

Imagine what will happen to Northern economy as Southerners become financially strong to buy their products

The most annoying thing is the scenarios of seeing so called educated Arewas thinking like illiterates
PoliticsRe: Ibos Are The Pillars Of Gejs Administration. by EasternLeopard: 11:13am On Aug 20, 2014
size38: They can rally from zone to zone. But one thing is clear, GEJ will never hand power over to the Igbos after his time in office whether in 2015 or 2019. because the Igbos have made themselves professional political praise singers in Nigeria to whoever that becomes the president of Nigeria. Ya, I like the new political position the Igbos have given themselves.
You are right that GEJ will return power back to the North in 2019 but he has achieved one thing which is the most important thing

That thing is, the liberation of Northern minorities through states creation

Very soon the politics of Nigeria will change and this change will transform Nigeria's socioeconomic activities such as 50:50 resource control State police etc

PoliticsRe: Soldiers To Koboko Wives Of Army Officers Who will demonstrate again:COAS by EasternLeopard: 8:43am On Aug 20, 2014
realborn: @ Post,

This I why soldiers sabotage the efforts of the few who remain gallant. Are soldiers not human? These men are complaining of inadequacy of combat equipment and infrastructure, and the COAS action is to issue threats. Soldiers are dying everyday with no insurance to cover their families' support after their demise. What we keep hearing is they will procure more weapons. When some Governors raised the uproar that BH was better equipped, those Governors were tagged anti-government. Several fine officers and combatant soldiers have passed away since then.

To fight a war of this magnitude you need to keep the morale high. Unfortunately, our men have lost theirs. Since I was born till date I have never seen the amount of resistance we are seeing today from our soldiers.

Instead of issuing threats, they should re-plan the intelligence network, improve welfare, introduce adequate insurance and immediately get these men the weapons they require to put an end to this scourge.

Leadership is about influencing and motivating. Management is about, directing, coordinating, organizing and controlling resources.

When Mosul fell, as a direct consequence, it was reported on July 6 2014 that Iraq's Prime Minister Maliki retired his Army Chiefs and appointed his son, Ahmad as the new Chief of Army Staff. I was stunned to see him fit and at the battle field commanding the Army. Since then, several Iraqis have flown from abroad to join the war against the insurgents. Today August 20 2014, 6 weeks later, Mosul dam has been reported Reclaimed. This is what combined apt leadership and management entail!

Why don't the soldiers resign

Is it not madness to remain in a job you term risky and suicidal

Any soldier that feels he being sent to his grave by corrupt generals should do the nation a favour by resigning

They are lots of Nigerians who will do the job without running away

War is not picnic that is why only those that are mentaly prepared to die that volunteers to serve

So many Nigerians like me were denied opportunities to fight likw SIRIUS who despite poor weapons, keeps fighting.

I don't blame the soldiers but the corrupt recruitment that selected them.
PoliticsRe: See New Map Of Nigeria With 19 More States Proposed By National Confab by EasternLeopard: 7:03am On Aug 20, 2014
TamzyTamudo: SE having 4 new states, with what they concluded each geographical zone will have a vice president and allocation to the 9 states of a region will go direct to its VP then he will now share to the state administrators but there will be a president and a deputy president in the central together with NASS lower and upper house,so with this every zones are meant to develop at it own pace with the resource revenue formula of 50 50 between zones and the FG/central government, this is what I heard general ike nwachukwu explained in oghene show on AIT to the igbos.
I accept that 50 50 sharing formular but Arewas kicked against it.

It was only oil and gas that was increased to 18% and solid minerals derivation which should also had being increased to 18% was opposed by Arewas and so was pegged at 5%

REASONS WHY YOU SHOULD SUPPORT STATES CREATION

1) It will separate minority ethnic groups from majority ethnic groups. This will increase the political influence of minority ethnic groups causing a change in Nigeria's politics
Eg We won't be seeing scenarios where a single ethno-religious group will hold the country ransom because a new policy do not favour them
We won't be seeing scenarios where a single group will want to use their national assembly numerical strength to impose their philosophy on others

2) In 20yrs to come, these minority ethnic groups will support weak central(true federalism) because they tend to believe in themselves than some majority ethnic groups that have failed to learn to survive outside federal powers

It is our political-economic system that have made them weak. This faulty structure was sustained by some majority ethnic groups who saw a means to survive without work

You don't understand how global economy works

If Ghana exports to Nigeria, Innoson will export to Ghana. This will open door to more profits for both nations.

What we need is for Ghana to agree and produced superior advanced multipurpose cheap vehicles.

Now you see why Igbos do fine in businesses. We don't fear COMPETITION

katman9x: You have heard of how more than half the ebola fatalities in other countries have been health care personel who were poorly protected. Now you wish for the same health care workers i.e the Doctors here to go back to work when your government is yet to provide standard protection gear talkless of sorting out the 24 point agenda. You dont understand how lucky you are that Doctors are on strike. If Lasuth had been working? Enough Matrons and nurses would have touched Patrick Sawyer. Talkless of House officers and medical students and resident doctors and Lab scientist etc who would have dealt with his blood and sample collection. Then those same people would have gone out to the rest of lagos to spread it. After all, Lasuth is just next to the airport............ I guess its a pity things didnt work out that way huh? I did take an oath to save lives and though that oath allows me to risk my life for others? It doesnt mean I must risk the lives of my loved one with inadequate protection and policies that dont work.
You are right about we being lucky that doctors were on strike but continuing the strike because of any reason except for better protective material is wickedness
