I am not a fan of pupular Igbo thought but I think you are wrong here. Igbos do not need resources in the ground to thrive because for some time now it is the resources of the mind that has mattered over resources in the ground.

Actually, it has always been so.

That being said, they do have deposits of oil that are being drilled today. They contribute to the oil wealth of the country (at least 2 of the 5 Igbo states).

But even if they do not have oil and they become Biafra, nothing stops the Igbo man from continuing with his business in Nigeria and all the other places in which they do business now.
Successful Igbo men will still remain successful.

That being said, since they seem not to like constructive criticism, perhaps if we, the rest of Nigeria, aid them in getting a country of their own, they will begin to see some of the things that we told them constructively as fellow Nigerians as they will be experiencing these things first hand.

But I don't know if Igbos realise that they really do not want to go. Somewhere inside, they have come to love the feeling that they struggle against unfairness and injustice.
