Another funny thing with bolt pricing now.

Bolt calculates Linear distance to pickup not Driving distance.

They also use the same linear distance to destination to price a trip not Driving distance.

You see a trip of 10km by the time you start it turns to 18km, if you arrive earlier to destination Bolt will still reduce your money from the initial amount you saw when you accepted the order

For the app companies, it's all about survival for them too, they don't care an inch about drivers. They want to get more riders by reducing fares and make more money as their commissions are not affected at the expense of the drivers. Government is looking the other way too. If all sectors are regulated, things go balance, money will flow, you won't pay a mason that work the whole day N15,000. Which is just a little above $10, when someone elsewhere around the world earns over $10 an hour. Politicians won't like that, big businesses won't either. Ever wondered why the stinkingly rich do not japa? The system pays them cos Labour is too cheap in Nigeria. It's too cheap to live here, not real laws, our laws na for mouth.
Make Una de play. It's going to get more worse. The system is just taking advantage of all you fellas. Find a side hustle, cos this situation has come to stay somehow and may not go away anytime soon.

Exactly my point, not to be pessimistic. But see how Govt act nonchallant to labour problems. Nigeria Labour Congress is toothless and useless. Remember how many months ASUU & ASUP will strike for Salaries and salary increment but the govt wont raise a finger or feel bothered. How do you want them to show priority and attention to ehailing? Only the app companies can make that decision by increasing Base fares. Govt wont do anything.

Now people who use only Bolt are stranded waiting for drivers for 2-3hrs. Drivers know better. They will tell you "ALL OUR DRIVERS ARE CURRENTLY BUSY" when they blocked everyone and chase them to go offline with ridiculous prices.

It's all in the hands of government. Normally, There should be standard fees for cabs set by Lagos government, but they will not impose it because they are already in the business themselves, it is to their benefit that other competitors chicken out and they get more control.
Who is the winner when it comes to Uber exit? It's lagride. The best standard closest to Uber is lagride and zero cab.
If the drivers make enough noise to get enough attention, then the government may set the standard.

Baba Govt will never set standard, Apps should do that. Take for instance minimum wage is 70K but people still pay their staff less than N50,000 salary for monthly work. Govt need to regulate all sectors of labour if the economy is to balance.

You mean 65ltr on a 2.5l engine?. I have same 65ltr installed on a 1.6ltr engine and I can average 140-150km before it will enter reserve.

In this bad price time, as a good driver 140-150km should have given you 70K plus net.

The issues have been the issue and is still d issue since 3years. No be hear we don dey talk am. Everything don has failed. Strike ooo, punch ooo, retreat oooo everything failed.

Drivers are the problem I don't even blame d app companies anymore iz like Politicians in Nigeria are lucky to have dormant/dorsal citizens same way app companies in Nigeria are lucky to have unfortunate selfish and disunited drivers and of course esp hungry poverty stricken drivers cause part of d world is poor and oppression thrives

People will pick ridiculous prices for different reasons, maybe destination trip, hunger strike, CNG car, Suzuki etc. If app increase the base fare things will improve. But i dont see them doing so because they are in competition to dominate the market and i dont see Bolt sacrificing their commission for that, Thank God for Low indrive commission

Bolt vs Indrive competition is the problem. If Indrive increases Base Fare and blocked that Loophole where people can reduce fare by trick things will be better.

My Trips today.

Whats funny is that Bolt reduces the Base fare, then after they give you ride they will still reduce the Net when you end the trip.( for example if you picked the trip at N7500 when you end am dem fit give you N7100).

Do you think everyone that converted to CNG have not complained about fuel price & maintenance before they finally converted? You as a fleet manager should know this things wont change.

In one breath u are saying if Bolt increases price people will not request. In thesame message u are acknowledging that Lagride and Cabzero makes more money than us even with the same category of cars.
Meaning people are requesting those "expensive" cars irrespective of their high prices.
During surge, don't u still see trips? The fares are so poor that even the surge prices are just like normal price. I saw 8k trip on X2 Priority Surge from Yaba to Walter Carrington yesterday and I was asking myself 'so without surge how much would it be?'
Why should u be managing what u have instead of demanding a fare wage for ur effort, stress, time and dignity?

The most annoying thing is Bolt still has Economy Category on the App. If Comfort Category is showing N1,500 net trips meaning Economy will be N900. In this era of 1400/litre of fuel. U barely make profit on Bolt Category, only Comfort prices can carry u over the margins now, but does it now mean people should go n be buying above 2008 vehicles just to make profit? Or instal CNG? That's ur own Premium Preference if u can afford it or so desire cos it's not cheap to do so . But the minimum standard to make ends meet must be maintained by the App companies.

If you want to earn like Cabzero and Lagride register as a driver with them and stop being emotional.

In a country where there is unregulated price & very competitive Market why did you think Uber left nigeria? You think its because they dont have drivers alone. Lol

Picking nonsense price is a personal choice there is nothing you can do about it, you can only decide for yourself and not others.

The hard truth is do what works for you in this job. You cant cut your cloth according to someone else size. If you understand the way nigeria(n)s work you know its all man for himself with a capitalism market. There is no amount of preaching that will change bad price picking except Bolt & Indrive increase their base fares

All you can do is not to accept bad price, you cant stop others from taking it.

Who are those justifying? Lol, you drive daily. How many people can afford the price conveniently except companies & high earning individuals? Some cars on Bolt & indrive are almost the same level with those on Cabzero and Lagride but earn less per trip but as you cant be on their platform you manage what you see on Indrive & Bolt.

Many things no get regulations for naija, people still pay House help & security 30K(unregulated below minimum wage) House rent is expensive and unregulated. Its one thing to know the truth and live with it rather than being emotional about it, especially when you cant make personal change for a general society problem

About this ride fares and anything regarding ehailing, we all know there is no change soon. There is no regulated labour law to even start with. We have minimum wage 80K yet people still earn below it by far margin. Its a capitalism economy where if you dont improve/evolve you will be left behind. There is no price control, as you know there is no price control on House rent, Electronics, Goods & services etc. Why are there recent protest against chinese crashing retail prices? As a consumer(rider) or service provider(driver) you will always support the side that favours you, thats the first character of a nigerian.

You’re not being realistic, to net 100k with CNG in a day, what will be the capacity of the cylinder and can full gas of the cylinder net you 100k. If not, how do you get to refill without wasting time to resume work.


Heard 5k CNG gas can gross you about 40k and 5k CNG gas is what fill up 65l cylinder so, let’s assume you’re using 100l cylinder to fill 100l will be less than 10k and 10k gas can only gross you 80k so make it make sense how can someone net 100k with CNG in a day and fill gas twice in a day.

Baba, we work more than each other. For where i dey cherry-pick 15K plus trip pesin don run 2 or more trips. While they start as early as 4-5am. I no need talk too much, most people know where dem dey catch the rides wey go quick Gross/net their daily target. Its not about driving about lagos daily.

If dem tell u say people wey get 2 cylinders for boot dey e go be like say na mouth. Met a guy one time, he didnt believe that i make 60K daily after fuel until i showed him my app and calculations.

I dont even like CNG sef from my little knowledge about the stuff. But i'm willing to learn & make research

Even with ridiculous prices, there are drivers who make 100K plus daily with CNG. Me wey dey use fuel sef dey see 35K after fuel & commission if i take my normal 4-6 trips daily. Jist saving up for CNG, i no fit stress because nigerians have never been united to fight a common problem.

I drove for about 10 mins to pick one foolish guy for okota yesterday, I got to his location, he said he will be out shortly

The destination was somewhere around fola agoro, after waiting for him for about 15 mins he sent msg "do you have AC"

I did not respond, rather I tried to call him both in app & mobile, the guy man did not pick, probably blocked my number

Bolt is a wrong app to use now, if you no sabi use Indrive for strategic places you will barely see fuel money. Just do CNG if you can afford it.

Bolt is a very useless app, sacrificing Drivers for riders satisfaction. Me i don leave dem, i only use them once in a while

Brother, the moment I saw their exit I wasn't surprised. Sad, but not surprised. And when someone asked to confirm here, I replied that it was true and also that is was because their model was broken.
Na so person just attack me instantly say I cheap. I simply lock up. Common sense, if their model wasn't broken and could function why would they leave?
The same Uber that I know? I used to swear Uber was the best thing after fufu when I first started.

Nothing concern me with Bolt, to me Uber first. But it got to a period I'd open my Uber and I'd cancel about 30 orders straight, on consecutive days. I was even scared they'd ban me so I stopped using it, to save my account for December. If it's not distance, it's price. Like you mentioned, Low drivers so you get terrible pickup distance. Low users so hardly any surge. Fuel prices made it worse.

Well bro, everyone has personal experience and different conclusion on these apps. I personally dont think one is better than the other. For where Uber good Indrive or Bolt no fit stand am. So it depends as a driver knowing where to use them really matters.

Using Uber is the best for me i wish they have other features i like on Bolt(2km) pickup, and i also wish Bolt have the features i like on Uber. But this is not possible, we just learn to manage all 3 apps at different locations & time.
