short trips. my worst nightmare
When i started late jan. I dont take trips less than 6K on Uber and i dey run 5-7 trips daily, it reduces my confirmation rate. But now i learnt to combine both to balance my scores.

My brother, fare is poor. Instead of us to rally and go to Bolt and Uber office people are saying na to convert to CNG or buy electric vehicle. As if to install the CNG is free. Or to buy electric vehicle is chewing gum.
People fail to realize that d smaller the engine of the car, the weaker it is.
U can't compare Honda EOD engine with Hyundai Accent or Suzuki in terms of ruggedity. So under 2yrs d small engine or gear is dead and u buy another one. Is it still from the shitty prices?
On this matter of protesting every nigerians has lost it, people always point fingers at others adjusting to the situation or doing the protest in a way you feel wont yield positive results. Anyone can start a protest or lead one, but there will always be people who think different and because those people are more so we still remain in same situation.

Not to tackle you bro, but everyone is as guilty as those who do it different. Until majority have a shared interest and think in the right direction things will continue this way in Ehailing, Politics etc as far as na naija we dey.

Thats why people have party systems, Trade unions etc with same agenda and interest. If there is one for ehailing it will be a good way to protest and negotiate our interest. cool

Now pls show me how much uber collects, cus i do the same on indrive, commission is lower by half... Also, most times i even charge more, either for a detour or waiting but I'm sure i even exceed 600/km total in a week, as shown in the image. Problem i have with uber and bolt is the freaking commission bro.
Boss like i explained before. On uber pricing you just need to calculate your average NGN/KM at the end of the day or week. Some fares might surprise you and some might annoy you the next trip go balance am for you

For example for a 9km trip you can get 9K dem fit comot the commission high because the rider is owing uber for time wasting in prev trip or they didnt pay complete, and for that same 9km trip sometimes dem fit pay you 12K base on hourly but rest in mind that your next trip might be shortchanged. Its jst something you study or work with. I hope you understand what i'm explaining

This doesn’t make uber better than indrive. Some of us here go on this short trips for 1k minimum per km.

I can’t start my car for a 3k trip if it’s not above 1k per KM. If passenger can’t enter keke and prefers comfort, then they should be willing to pay for it.

Only indrive can give you abnormal profit on short trips. I have carried one woman for 1.2km for 3k. And I even accepted because she was 300m away.
Ok boss, whatever works for you. For me Uber works for me perfect from Sane passengers to better communications and interactions. I didnt say Uber is better than Bolt or Indrive, we all know none is best we jst have all for different needs. So thats how i use those 3 apps together daily to get my desired trips

May God bless our hustle cool

Pls where do u stay?u seems to get trips on Uber. I don't know when last I completed a quest on Uber. Request always so slow. U will wait tyre and once Indrive enter I'm gone.

But I like Uber sha.
Boss, i treat it like going to work daily grin

If you stay on the mainland like me, In the morning around 5am-6am depends on when you decide to go out but i advice you start early. Set your destination trips to VI or Lekki Phase 1 with Bolt comfort because you have 5 destination trips daily. You can also target island trips on Indrive too but na mostly N270/km you go see if you dont mind but i dont take it sha.

When you get to Ikoyi, Lekki or after Phase 1 target Lekki phase 2. Just dey shuttle btw phase 1-2 and Ajah. By 3-4pm set destination back to Mainland. Offices go don close for VI

Dont get trapped or carried away with trips after phase 2, because if 5pm-6pm nack meet u for that side e go hard to see destination trips back to mainland except u use Indrive to get out.

See how many trips i quickly completed in less than an hour.

So basically you learn Traffic flows with Uber apps for example, in the morning people are navigating towards VI, IKOYI, LEKKI. In the evening people are navigating towards IKEJA, IYANA IPAJA, OSHODI, ILUPEJU etc

Thats just what i studied so far and some other things i'm still learning from looking at the uber map radar cheesy

On Uber you will on AC for riders if dem ask sha o, else dem go spoil your account with reports. Na lekki people dem too like comfort. Person dey go next street carry Uber grin something wey we dey trek for mainland, infact i don carry person cross road before tongue seems like 1km trip dat day i jst dey laff dey look the babe for rear view mirror

Eno add
Bro Do you use Uber constantly? On sunday(yesterday) i calculated my trips and na total N750/km plus my quest money for the 10 trips i did.

During the week i dey calcu N550/km

I think what Uber does is give you trips like you are working for a company picking their customers to destination then your Total NGN per Km is average between those trips. Like i have said in my prev post. Some trips you will feel disgusted by the price then the next trip will compensate you and u sef go shock grin. Reason i average my daily income, i make sure i complete 10 trips daily (or complete the lowest quest)

Dedicate 2-3days to test it and give feedback. I dont take long pickup trips sha.

The day a car burnt at Apongbon bridge last week, unfortunately a uber car also broke down on that bridge, i picked the riders request to rebook a ride going to lekki when the driver was fixing his car because i was in Surulere. As i approach the scene Police don dey dey give me voice and trying to harass me cheesy say why i stop beside road, Me wey don greet LASTMA officials for back telling dem my purpose at the scene. See why its nt encouraging to help in Naija. Meanwhile the lady has been stranded since or people might be rejecting pickup.

Bro d different on AC is worth the stress ooo...haaa i have ran d experiment with my 2.5L engine. Haaaaaaa. I'm talking of a difference of 12-15k daily n u r saying not worth d stress shocked....

Haaaa my own big boy no reach like dat ooooo🤣🤣. Abegooo...

It is my covenant to continue running my business like this. Even if the price of fuel never goes down and dey don't increase d base fare cause my profit margin IS NOT TAMPERED I'm good. It has returned to before the fuel increment only thing I don't use Ac. Cause on indrive does 300-350km trip na dem plenty pass if u dey wait 450-500km u go tey.

So in order to keep it moving cause time is money I run it like this. When I hustle finish I go my house collect AC if light dey.

Bro for me I needed to do that experiment and it works for me. My plan now is to either get cng as I still dey torch light am. Someone here said he has worked with them yet he won't do it on his car so I'm still researching or I get a smaller engine car like a yaris and use AC forever grin but for now we must adjust d koko na cashflow make my money complete

D hustle is still very good just we must all adapt to the current realities on ground
So you go dey harsh sun from morning till evening, then collect AC for house for evening cheesy. Radiation go spoil your skin thermostat

If you see a trip more than N350/km on indrive and e tey for dashboard it means something iz wrong with that trip grin

I dey my Uber jeje, make i dey chop N550/km dey go

So this caused a wahala for a rider and his driver just now... Driver tell am say no ac, say fuel matter... The girl tellam to go buy fuel, oga say he no dey go again, she say make he go drop am wer he pick am... Oga no gree, she no gree... Oga come down to go buy fuel, lady no gree come down, he lock her inside car o, according to her, for 25mins...b4 the guy came back, b4 he unclock(story doesn't make sense cus why you no use central lock open from inside) but oh well... She stole the driver's license, sayin she go suffer am.... Many many drama for this stupeed work 🤦‍♂️

I suggest you let them know say no ac b4 wasting ur fuel going, to avoid drama unneeded.
Most of those riders asking for AC dont have AC in their homes and if they have they have cut the wires. I picked two women sometimes last week as one dey request for AC the other one dey caution am say "you no sabi the cost of fuel" i jst dey laff for my mind. From their discussions the other one said they dont on AC again at home because of Band A

This fuel price is taking a toll on the little profit margin and worst still low fare rate and over bearing riders looking for AC mostly from that cheap app called inDrive .. Spent 10k on fuel for a trip of 8500 and 6900 .. how much profit did i realize in such a wasteful
Adventure that took me almost 3 hours to complete .. this job sucks this season and hope it doesn’t go further than this cus for now I’m freaking tired of bursting my head through this Sun ☀️ and roads ..
As you just start, stick to Uber and dont take trips more than 3km pickups. Naso mesef dey do.

If u no sabi like experts or how to negotiate price with distance and traffic no shuck head for indrive.

If Uber see say dem underpay you for ur last trip dem go adjust your next trip to cover. Your waiting time(customer delay) are covered, if customer no gree pay you report and Uber will settle you... na professional & sane people be Uber riders na why we dey use 'ma' & 'sir' grin for each other. My Daily average NGN/KM today is N590/km. When i'm stucked i use Bolt comfort or Indrive
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by Eazilyfe: 7:17am On Mar 21
Kumuyiii:
Indeed. The only thing that makes indrive price get better is traffic, it keeps these lowlifes occupied enough to cause a surge. No wonder these passengers no get respect for person, they be thinking na everybody be errand boy driver 🤦‍♂️
I use Uber mostly, by the time you complete 9-10 trips your average earnings is N550/km with 1230 per litre. Then you get 5K quest money to buy food. grin

For Indrive nobody dey gree set more than N371/km, if you see above na luck and dem dey quick chop am. Infact for long distance ride on indrive na N196/km those people dey set especially if its from Mainland to island and they know Indrive drivers wants to get ride to Island.

To me if Indrive Based and final price model no dey market, things would be better. Lets start from there

This thing no fit end soon because we need to first restructure the system

With all the useless prices today...drivers no even dey allow am land Dem don carry am.

God help us all
Lol, una go say Indrive good today, tomorrow una go say price don bad cheesy

Na Drivers spoil Indrive because of ridiculous price dem accept. If you no fit accept u go wait tire before you see quality ride.

I feel most drivers wey Bolt & Uber don block due to bad car or low driver score etc na hin full Indrive dey accept ridiculous prices because of pressure to meet target

So from ur calculations ur car is not working optimally for a 1.8L. it's doubling like I painted in the two scenarios. 10k making 20k now cause of the increment.

Ur 30k making 60k. Honestly this is about what my 2.5L makes me suing my AC on full blast. I don't think it's sustainable cause calculating depression and maintenance....

Yes u r making money but when the real wear and tear comes. It won't be sustainable. Just one major repair from bankruptcy grin

Add 3500 to this amount and less 30k fuel. Is this in anyway sustainable?
To me sha sad, For this KM driven should be N85,000 above net income if Indrive don comot their share. N550 per km above

Fuel don cost

If you don clock am you go sabi say na Indrive be one of the issue. Although there are so many issues. Bolt & Uber are in competition with Indrive base price. The way my AC spoilt yesterday and it can spoil my Uber account e no be like dat for Indrive. Some cars dont have AC, all body dented and unpainted on Indrive. Indrive don low the standard of how a basic ehailing car should appear and that also reflects on the pricing.

But you know say if na Uber be dis, she fit use this chat report you & na instant blocking

But this is the main sh*t why I dread Indrive. E dey mess with my head 😐

The other day, I pick up an item from phase 1 going towards Ilasan, the trip of <25mins turn almost 40 mins. The trip fare more than doubled 😎. Na me come dey pity the lady wey get parcel
Bro dont pity riders, 99% wont pity you if your vehicle breaks down or get arrested by law enforcement. its business as usual for them.

I carried someone to Lagos island, Lastma later harassed me dem come down dey go. But the woman called back to ask abt my wellness. I later reported to Uber to adjust the price for me

Another one recently, those girls order ride on Uber frm Gym dey go Ologolo because of traffic on Express dem say make i pass Coastal road, i say okay ma, we no con quick see turning she con dey complain asif i opt for coastal road. Na so bill fly from 3K to N12,500 she say na N7000 dey her hand. I say pay let me go, she begged not to report but i later reported to Uber and Uber paid me the remaining money. In her next ride she will pay that balance

Even waiting time or Cancellation, uber will charge riders later if dem think say dem wise. So the lady might be paying for a sin she committed before

One lady too paid huge after i dropped her, she just dey vex but when i see description i know say na because she dont commit either TIME WASTING, INCOMPLETE PAYMENT make her bills high grin

But i cant explain to them e go touch nerves or cause quarrel tongue

A State of Emergency should be declared.
Ones fuel money is begining to be more than your take home profit, then it's no longer a good business.

I only fear one day strike will not really cut it. Plus it was not properly planned and communicated in advance. The publicity is very poor and many drivers aren't aware of the strike so it will not be effective.
Mass action should follow like protests to Uber and Bolt offices, if Indrive refuses to have an office then the app should be shut down by the govt. Everybody must be dragged to a round table and a fare pricing system must be out in place.
The better way is Indrive, Bolt, Uber office protests. This unanimous protest wont work becos there is no proper communication

One of the reason person no need to dey buy small small fuel for car if na personal motor. E good make fuel pump dey swim inside fuel well because of the impurities down the tank and bad fuel being sold in naija

I refill to full tank almost everyday atmost 2days before i start driving. I reset my Trip B to zero after every refuel to monitor usage.

May we not see Fuel pump & Injector wahala. I battle am for 6months when i get starting issue. Changed almost 4 fuel pumps from tokunbo to new. Until i later changed all fuel injectors before motor balance
