Please be informed that a major accident and roadblock occurred earlier this morning along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, resulting in serious traffic congestion and restricted movement. All commuters are advised to avoid the route for now and consider alternative roads where possible. Travelers should also inform their contacts or clients if their movement or appointments may be delayed. Authorities are working to clear the obstruction, and normal flow is expected to resume once the road is safe. Safety first — please stay alert and cautious.

The Vice Chancellor of Caleb University and former Director of Center of Financial Studies, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) Prof. Olalekan Asikhia, has launched a profound offensive against the scourge of national examination malpractice culture characterizing it as a “silent epidemic” that produces graduates who are a “fraudulent promise” and a direct danger to society. Prof. Asikhia, the former Director of Centre for Financial Studies (CIBN) is not just speaking out but is leveraging the power of cinema to drive his message home, having produced a new feature film, “The Gracious Couple,” to illuminate the devastating consequences of academic fraud. In a powerful articulation of his stance, the Vice Chancellor condemned the practice as a “corrosive act” that weakens societal pillars. “Examination malpractice devalues hard work and rewards deceit,” he stated. “It creates the immediate illusion of success but masks a devastating reality: the creation of a generation of graduates who hold the credentials of competence but lack its substance. He saved his most grave warning for the medical field, where he said the consequences are fatal. “When medical students cheat, they are not merely breaking a rule. They are snapping a critical link in the chain of trust,” Prof. Asikhia explained. “The transition from the fraudulent exam hall to the genuine hospital ward is where the abstract sin becomes a tangible tragedy. This is the doctor who makes a fatal misdiagnosis or miscalculates a drug dosage. Their very presence becomes a danger to the public they swore to serve. To make this critical lesson visceral and unforgettable, Prof. Asikhia produced “The Gracious Couple,” a compelling narrative that exposes how this “devil” of corruption extends beyond the classroom, poisoning marriages and jeopardizing national integrity. The film, which he describes as both a “stark warning and a powerful source of inspiration,” follows the unwavering stand of Mrs. Tope Henry, a principled Vice Principal whose fight against a deeply entrenched system of corruption (Principal, teachers, students and parents) brings her face-to-face with hatred and life-threatening conspiracies. Her struggle is interwoven with the story of a desperate teacher, showcasing the human pressures that perpetuate the cycle of wrongdoing. “The movie is a strategic intervention,” Prof. Asikhia noted. “It proffers a robust solution centered on faith, courage, and systemic change. It champions the need for individuals to operate with unwavering personal integrity and demonstrates that divine guidance, coupled with courageous leadership, is essential to dismantle these corrupt systems.” By uniting his academic authority with the persuasive power of film, Prof. Asikhia’s campaign presents a multi-faceted attack on a deep-seated societal ill. His initiative underscores that the battle against examination malpractice is a choice between building a society on the solid rock of merit or the shifting sands of deceit, a battle where the stakes are nothing less than the qualit I’my of Nigeria’s future, the integrity of its professions, and the very lives of its citizens. Dear Deeper Lifers and Jesus Lovers across the globe, Nigeria has undeniably become a hub and home for end-of-the-year Christian gatherings, conferences, congresses, retreats, and camp meetings that draw believers and God’s seekers from across the world. These events have become rallying points for spiritual renewal, divine encounters, and the empowering of saints for kingdom advancement. The Peace House Camp Meeting with Brother Gbile Akanni echoed God’s call to action with "Put in the Sickle", charging us to engage the spiritual harvest with diligence. The RCCG Holy Ghost Congress inspired us to advance boldly as "Onward Christian Soldiers", reminding us of our mandate to move forward in faith and victory. At Shiloh 2024, the Winners’ Family received the blueprint to soar through life with "Ever Winning Wisdom". These gatherings have set the tone for what God is doing globally and have prepared the stage for what is next. Now, in this season of divine visitation, the Deeper Life December Retreat comes as God’s clarion call to His people: "Power for Present Possession". This is not just another event on the calendar; it is a divine appointment for restoration, renewal, and empowerment. From Friday, 20th December to Wednesday, 25th December 2024, at the Deeper Life International Conference Centre along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, Lagos, God is set to release extraordinary power to equip His people to lay hold of His promises—not in the distant future but NOW. Why This Retreat Matters The call of God is unmistakable. He desires His people to possess their inheritance, walking in victory and power. Yet, many believers continue to live below their spiritual privileges, holding empty vessels while heaven’s abundance is ready to pour. Just as the Israelites stood at the brink of Canaan, hearing God’s command, "Arise, go in and possess the land which the Lord your God gives you" (Deuteronomy 1: , so does God speak to us today. This retreat is an opportunity to receive the power needed to overcome every limitation and lay hold of your spiritual, physical, and emotional breakthroughs. What can you expect at this retreat? 1. Reclaim Your Spiritual Authority The rod of Moses performed wonders because God’s power was present. At this retreat, you will rediscover divine power to conquer giants—whether they be sin, sickness, stagnation, or spiritual dryness. 2. Ignite Holiness and Righteousness Power for possession comes to hearts that are sanctified and set apart for God. If compromise, distractions, or weariness have crept into your walk, this is your moment to reconnect. Holiness remains the hallmark of power. 3. Tarry in His Presence for Transformation This retreat is not for casual attendees but for those, like Jacob, who will wrestle with God until they are changed. Set aside every distraction—technology, comfort, or worldly entanglements—and focus on God’s presence. Avoid the Pitfalls of Modern Worship The enemy’s strategy is subtle in today’s world. Many come to retreats and conferences not to meet God but: • To update social media during sermons. • To seek entertainment instead of edification. • To attend outwardly but neglect inward transformation. Let us not honour God with our lips while our hearts are far from Him. Instead, let us come with brokenness, humility, and hunger for His power now. Practical Steps for a Transformative Retreat 1. Prepare Your Heart: Begin now with fasting, prayer, and a clear determination to meet God personally. 2. Leave Distractions Behind: Switch off your devices and give God your undivided attention - remember Apostle Arome's charge. 3. Seek a Spiritual Reset: Be honest before God. If power, holiness, or fervency has waned, seek renewal. 4. Pray Without Ceasing: Tarry in prayer, join every session, and come with expectancy. The Time Is Now The theme "Power for Present Possession" is a prophetic declaration for the Church and for YOU. Whatever you have delayed or lost—be it salvation, sanctification, healing, or power—it is time to receive it. God’s promises are for today, not tomorrow. As you gather under the ministry of Pastor W. F. Kumuyi and other anointed servants of God, let your heart cry be: "Lord, I will not let You go until I possess all that You have for me!" Beloved, do not delay. Come and experience transformation at the Deeper Life December Retreat. This is your hour of power! Date: Friday, 20th December – Wednesday, 25th December, 2024 Venue: Deeper Life International Conference Centre, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Theme: "Power for Present Possession" "Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses." – Joshua 1:3 "Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers." – Deuteronomy 1:8 "Therefore, I say unto you, what things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." – Mark 11:24 Let us arise and possess the land—the time is now! Can you imagine this guy? |
As a matter of fact, this is where I study in my quiet time this morning. I actually saw the news headline last night on Nairaland but didn't open it. But on getting to my next chapter of study of the book of Isaiah (Read chapter 16 yesterday) today and seeing Damascus, I had to read the news. Beloved, thanks for always lifting the banner up. To everyone, Jesus is coming soon. The Bible is Real and True. Let's stop playing ignorance. Kiss the Son...... Shalom. Righteousness2: |
Zaxbash1:No Qualms. I feel it's because he was trying to babysit his grand-daughter and there is every possibility that the belt may injure her if not loosed or removed. Good evening, intending parents/grandparents. |

Dear fellow Deeper Lifer, Retreat Is Here! again with the theme - The Final Solution: JESUS 21st To 25th Dec.,2019. I took my pen to write this after listening to our father in the Lord, Pastor W. F. KUMUYI, today at the Headquarters church, Gbagada, Lagos. I want you to pay attention and make this viral so as for many if not all would read and I hope majority will get their ears and hearts circumcised to understand and cry out to the chief harvester before harvest day is suddenly declared in heaven (Jer.6:10) like we did last year. The G.S quizzed and challenged us at the combine service today to mention one person who has never miss the Deeper Life December Retreat since inception in 1975 to 2019? And lo and behold, there was silence everywhere....Then He said, "I, KUMUYI, is the only one who has never miss the Deeper Life December Retreat since 1975." Retreat started 44 years ago in Deeper Life Bible Church when some of us, my readers, were not yet born. Never at any time in the 44years of the Retreat was G S. cancelled or suspended it because of sickness or challenge. The man of God has always been at the retreat. Pastor KUMUYI is now asking every member and friend of the Deeper Life Bible Church to participate in this year special retreat full of solutions. Lamentations 1:12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger. ✓Brethren, is it nothing to you that there are problems everywhere you can think of and no solution? ✓Is it nothing to you that sin, worldliness and backsliding have taken over so many of our flock? ✓Is it nothing to you that the number of the barren among the saints are alarming? ✓Is it nothing to you that lots of our young ones finished from colleges and higher institutions of learning and have nothing to do for a living than chatting on social media? ✓Is it nothing to you that strange sicknesses and diseases are taking our beloved ones to grave untimely? ✓Is it nothing to you, is it nothing to you, is it nothing to you that there is lack of fire among the young and old? ✓Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? (Jeremiah 8:22) Psalms 50:5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice. I call you to a solemn assembly before God as you determined to make this retreat a time to cry like Jabez of old till the needed solutions come. Pray and fast and come and see God in action..... Let's make this year retreat a time of solemn assembly and time of fresh encounter with God of our fathers. Brethren, this is the season of solutions. These are the days of solutions. Come and behold JESUS: THE FINAL SOLUTION. What to do? 1. Publicise it. 2. Invite your circle of friends and family to come and meet the final solution to their problems. 3. Plan and prepare to come. 4. Pray, Listen to the teaching of the word of God, write during the messages, meditate on it and Internalize it. 5. Determine to have divine encounter at the retreat. 6. Don't be distracted or sidetracted. 7. Get the solution. Get the solution. Become a solution JESUS: The Final Solution. The Final Solution: JESUS. I don't know about you, but I don't just read the news here and go. I always pay close attention to the comments session. The truth is, I learn more in the comment session than other parts of nairaland. I can't recall now the particular thread I saw the comment but I was conscience-smitten and awe-struck with this comment: IF EVERYONE WERE TO BE DOING THEIR WORK PROPERLY, THIS COUNTRY WOULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER PLACE. Think about that. Think again. For today, this is the most piercing and truthful comment that has affected me. What about you? Please, share any comment in Nairaland that got you thinking today. Mine is "If everyone were to be doing their work properly, this country would have been a better place".

What is this for goodness sake? It's high time we follow due protocols and systems. Short cuts aren't paid. NYSC has a purpose and I beg you, don't let us defeat that purpose. If everyone were to be doing their work properly, this country would have been a better place. |
Well done. I do not totally agree with your write-up sir. However, I wish to make it known that you know how to write well, tactically. God bless Nigeria. Amen |
Congratulations to our Hero, Father and Mentor. Happy Happy home always. |
