#14. My Closest Relationships Can Wait

Fortunately, this Comes as a sequel to the previous topic which says "I Don't Have Time For Anyone Else". Having this kind of thought could seriously affect your closest relationships.
Firstly, how would you define a close relationship? The answer to that is relative. But, one very important thing is the people you keep close relationships with. Learn to keep close relationships with good people; those who have earned your trust and family. Yes, some are just family by name but there is no close relationship.
When you have close relationships, the people involved with you become an essential part of your life. At some point, they have very important roles to play in achieving your dreams through support in every wise.
Do not keep your closest relationships aside for the purpose of achieving your dreams, they are more important than you think. If you think you're not getting all the support you need from a close relationship, work on improving it. We all have flaws yet we can make things better when we involve each other, work and walk together.
Always involve the good and close people in your life. Perhaps, it may be much easier to get to the goal when you take their hands and at some point, allow them take your hand.

#13. I Don't Have Time For Anyone Else

Every individual life is a personal race. But, where is the beauty in a life that cannot be shared? What is the essence of doing it alone when two good heads are far better than one?
This kind of thought may arise as a form of reaction to previous disappointments, heartbreaks, betrayal and every negative thing that people could have done to you. You feel withdrawn and you may even go ahead to decide that you don't need people in your life anymore. It is okay to feel betrayed, disappointed and any of such feeling because at a point, we meet disappointments and betrayals, but it is not enough to give up on people. Look! There's still people who would stand by you through thick and thin. No one can survive alone for long.
Obviously, the number of bad people is larger than that of the good. Yet, there are still a few good people. Some people are there to help you move higher the ladder perhaps in those times when you get weary.
If you don't have time for anyone else, how then can others hold your hand and pull you up when you're down? On the other hand, how can you show love and kindness? Do not forget that what you give is what you get, maybe bigger.
You do not have to involve everyone all the time but there are some good people you can involve sometimes. Do not always do it alone. Learn to share some things about your dreams, goals and aspirations but you must be careful in doing that. Some people are brought to you, so that through them you can achieve your dreams.
Merci.

#12. I Don't Have What It Takes

One of our network providers here (MTN) used to give a ring back tune which starts with the line "you have all it takes to be better."
That line has so much good content and that is the good news I bring to you today.
Certain circumstances can bring up such thought of not having what it takes in your mind, it is not unsual. At one point in my life, I heard people sing with so much talent and I eventually said to myself that if I wanted to be a singer, I didn't have what it takes... But, guess what? That's a fat lie.
Never let your current situation or circumstance becloud your judgement, rather do not reach conclusions yet. No matter what, learn to always encourage yourself. Be your own source of strength and let others build on that.
You have all it takes to make it good, you have the power to make it better and you can do more to make it one of the best if not the best. It is within you.... You have all it takes to make your dreams come true.

#11. I Have Too Many Flaws

A famous tale among the Chinese says that "there are only two perfect men, one dead and the other unborn". Assuming that was true then you would agree with me that naturally, It is not wrong to have flaws, no man is perfect. Everyone was born with a potential for greatness in them but not without flaws or imperfections.
I love to say constant practice and work makes one better while others believe it makes one perfect. While it is natural and not quite bad to have flaws, it is very bad when you do nothing to correct, improve or totally move away or perhaps rise above your flaws.
It is not enough to give the excuse that you have too many flaws and then let it go on to override you. If you think your flaws are much and you wouldn't succeed, at least first give a try. It is okay if you mess things up because it is better if you try and fail than not trying at all. Not trying is failing. Do not let your flaws be a stumbling block, rather step on it and make progress. There is a stream of perfection running through nature, but you may be hindered access to that stream if you allow your flaws be in charge.
The thought of you having too many flaws may be a source of discouragement, but while you might want to give discouragement a chance, remember, you have a very big dream, do not let your flaws drive you away from achieving it. Do not forget, you can achieve anything you want to achieve.

#10. I Have Nothing To Be Thankful For

If you've heard the saying that "dead men don't talk" then you should understand that being alive is enough reason to be thankful. Being grateful for the little you have now can fetch you something bigger tomorrow; appreciation can open doors.
Do not always compare yourself with people who you think have it much easier than you, by doing that you might get discouraged and when discouragement sets in, you are already on the reverse gear and that won't lead to a happy ending. Be contented with what you have. It doesn't really matter if your glass is half empty or half full, be thankful that you have a glass with something in it; you have life with a lot of potentials.
Be thankful for your yesterday and your experiences, be thankful for today with its opportunities, be thankful for the people you love. Like the saying goes: all is fair in love and war, it will not always be the way you want it. Forget the seemingly perfect situation of others and focus on your big dream.
Even in nothing, be thankful.

#9. People Have It Much Easier Than Me

Everyone was created equal. Naked and bare, that's how we all came to this life, though we met different conditions, but everyone was given a shot at survival. Some couldn't survive but you did.... Now, that's a good starting point for you and I and everyone else.
As everyone is different, so are their problems. Some people may be so wealthy and influential but trust me when I tell you that many of them have more problems than you. Do not compare yourself with people, there's absolutely no need to do that. Life in itself is not easy, there are wars to be won if one must be great.
Hard times would always come, like an adversity. It may last for such a long time but then, do not be overwhelmed neither should you be discouraged, take it up like a challenge. Know that in every adversity, there is a message. Every great success requires some struggle to get there.
Discard the very thought that people have it much easier than you as soon as it springs up, it is a thought of discouragement that will take you nowhere.

Where is that Wike?
I thought he said he has fixed all the roads Amaechi abandoned.

Where is 'Mr Project' who devotes his time trading blames and criticizing an ex-governor instead of working.
This same failure mobilized contractors to go construct roads in Benue state just to spite Ortom.

Wike is just like APC at the Federal level...
Always blaming their predecessor for their failures.

Who says a focused governor can't fix a federal road in his state and get a refund from the Federal Government?
Do you go on to fix federal roads in Nigeria without the Federal government's approval or a mutual agreement?
Learn to keep quiet if you don't have what to say.

#8. I know I'm Not Good Enough

I must admit that I've had this kind of thought severally. How can you know how good you are if you don't give a try?
When this thought springs up, it shows you have lost faith and confidence in yourself. When you lose these two essential items, there is not much places you can go because, while confidence makes you walk through some seemingly huge doors, faith can get you what you want once you've passed through the door.
Sometimes, the thought of not being good enough can raise a kind of fear such that in trying, you might fail since you think you're not good enough. But I tell you, your greatest fear should not be your failures but successes in things that do not matter.

Being prepared, setting to work with a mind of achieving your dream without delay makes you good enough already. Do not deny yourself the task which has been given you. No man is too good but desire, hard work, commitment can make any man better while driving Him towards his goal.
You are better than you think and you can achieve what you want to achieve.

#7. I Should Wait For The Right Time

Hey! Why delay? Every time is right for you to put your hands to work that will lead you towards actualizing your dream. Make hay while the sun shines, so that when it comes to that point where the sun might want to take a rest from shining, you could have covered many grounds.
Delay could be dangerous. Do not forget that a stitch in time saves nine. There's no time more right than now; do what you have to do at any given point with the aim of making one or more steps forward.
Sometimes, you might just decide to fold your hands and wait for opportunities, that is very wrong. Learn to create opportunities. The world is not static, move along with the pace of a goal getter. There's so much to achieve but with limited time.
Always keep it in mind that time waits for no one.

#6. I Am Not Prepared

You've been prepared to face life right from the day you were born. But, what gives you the impression that you are not prepared? Sometimes it is laziness, it could be the voice of discouragement and it could even be as a result of distraction.
Having identified your goal/dream, set your mind to work and open your mind to making the best out of every situation; this is the basic preparation you need for preparation basically starts in the mind.
You can achieve what you want to achieve.

#5. It Doesn't Matter
At some point, You may find yourself deliberately ignoring some small things while the little voice in your head will whisper to you that it doesn't matter. Do not forget that you need a set of bits and pieces to make a whole.
Everything matters and everything counts; if not today then perhaps tomorrow. Never throw away or neglect any detail no matter how small, you never can tell just when it may come in handy.
Stay focused and keep in touch with everything. Life goes around, life comes around.

#4. THE PROBLEM IS TOO BIG TO SOLVE

Once it is a problem, there can always be a solution. Of course a problem can be categorized as big, but not bigger than having a solution.
In trying to solve a problem, time and energy must be spent. But then you should not see your dream as a problem. Problems would surely come while you have set to work, these problems could be a source of distraction but, no problem too big for you to solve can come to you. If at a point you feel too burdened, discouraged, depressed, do not let go. There's a few good people you can always talk to; no man is an island.
Desist from seeing a problem as too big. If it gets harder, put in more; The harder it gets, the sweeter the taste of success.

#3. I'M NOT TALENTED ENOUGH

My late Dad once asked me many years ago why I wasn't a member of my church choir, my reply to Him was that I didn't have the talent to sing in the choir. That reply hit Him; it was disappointing and the disappointment was written all over Him for a few days. He had heard me sing a good number of times and He had already seen what was in me. Maybe my excuse was childish so He just let it go but not without a great admonishing.
I realized that if I am not so talented, at least I am good at singing and if I had to be one of the best, I have to set to work. We need to learn the difference between talent and work. Most celebrities we see on the screen today may not have been too talented, they are people who just worked a little bit harder.
I believe that everyone has got at least a little bit of talent. Constant practice makes you better, persistence enhances talent. Therefore, you need to work hard and practice to harness your talent. A little bit of talent and a great deal of work can take you to the goal.
Not being talented enough is a thought you should discard as quickly as it comes.

#2. I DON'T HAVE TIME
At the beginning of my journey as a university undergraduate, I was always told about the importance of time management. I have disciplined myself to accept such principle and put it into practice all the time. It has really helped me a lot till this day.
When you say you do not have time, it is another way of saying it doesn't matter. Naturally, what matters should take your time. If you must achieve so much then time management is an effective tool.
What are you doing with your time?
Not having time is not enough excuse. Make a fine plan, such that every activity or work that is aimed at driving you towards the goal fits in.
You have limited time but of course you have time! Only make it count.

#1. MY DREAMS/GOALS CAN WAIT

What should your dreams and goals wait for? Or perhaps who are you waiting for??
Isn't your goals and dreams one of the most important essence of life??
Most times, you just find so many people whiling away time because of other purposes which are not important. You can build for your dream/goal while carrying out other important and necessary activities in life(multi-tasking).
Your dreams and goals must be achieved as quickly as possible and early enough. Such feeling you get with achieving your goals and dreams can give you inner peace for the rest of your life. It will also create a larger room for you to contribute to solving life's challenges.
hey! do not delay. start now for there's no limit to what you can achieve.
EducationThe Sabbath: Why I Observe It On Saturday. by Ebiezprada(op): 1:37pm On Jul 09, 2017

WHY I GO TO CHURCH ON SATURDAY

To many, my Saturday church attendance appears to be out of step with the Sunday Christian tradition. They wonder how I can be so confused as to go on the “wrong day.” So, exactly why do I, and millions like me, choose Saturday over Sunday? Consider these three reasons that may surprise you.

Reason One – God’s Word

I go to church on Saturday because it is biblical and Sunday church attendance is not. While God welcomes worship every day of the week, He set aside the seventh day as a special day of rest. This day is called the Sabbath and corresponds with Saturday. It was given to humankind at creation, about 2,000 years before the Jewish people existed (Genesis 2:1-3). Jesus said the “Sabbath was made for man”—not just for Jews (Mark 2:27).

At creation, God performed three deliberate acts to make the seventh day uniquely different from the other six—he rested, blessed and sanctified the Sabbath (Genesis 2:2, 3). This is extremely significant.

First, we need rest from labor and time to reflect. God wired us this way. This is why He drew us aside that very first seventh day of creation for special time with Him. Second, God packed a spiritual blessing into the seventh day that He didn’t put into the other six. Lastly, God drew a boundary around this 24-hour period and designated it as a day to be wholly dedicated to pursuing a relationship with Him.

If one takes every verse in the Bible on the Sabbath they discover some amazing things: all the Old Testament people of God enjoyed its blessing—remember, that until Abraham they were not Jewish (Genesis 11:26), Jesus honored the Sabbath by keeping it every week (Luke 4:16), the disciples kept it (Acts 18:4, 11; 16:13), and it will be kept in heaven and the new earth (Isaiah 66:22, 23). The Bible presents an unbroken cycle of Sabbath observance from man’s creation to the earth made new.

So why do most Christian churches worship on Sunday? The answer—tradition. You see, the Bible never records God changing the Sabbath from the seventh day to the first. The only change of God’s law mentioned in Scripture is attempted by a clever inside attack on the church (See Daniel 7:25).

This change came in long after the disciples died. By the third and fourth centuries, history records some Christians kept the pagan worship day of Sunday in Rome and other places where the church was compromising to escape persecution. As the church at Rome grew in political power and developed into the Roman Catholic Church, it officially sanctioned Sunday keeping instead of the Sabbath. Today, it points to this fact of history as proof that its authority and tradition is superior to the plain teaching of Scripture.*

Reason Two – Love

Sabbath keeping is not legalism. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep my commandments” (John 14:15). Since the Sabbath is the Bible day for weekly worship, is the fourth commandment, has never been changed by God—only by man, and since Jesus kept it Himself, I observe the Sabbath out of love for Him.

There are many reasons why I love and obey Jesus. Two primary ones are that He is my creator and redeemer (John 1:1-3; Titus 2:14). Jesus created the earth in six days and rested on the seventh. The Sabbath is God’s official memorial or “sign between” Him and His people that He is our Creator (Exodus 31:17). And just prior to Jesus’ return, a message from God calls everyone to “worship Him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters” (Revelation 14:6, 7). Every time I “remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy,” I honor my Creator as the one who holds my life in His hand (Exodus 20:8-11).

Not only did Jesus create humans, He also redeems us from sin. The Sabbath is a special sign of this salvation—“a sign between them and Me, that they might know that I am the Lord who sanctifies them” (Ezekiel 20:12). Refraining once a week from secular employment to support ourselves reminds us that we can’t work to earn our eternal salvation—it is a gift of God and we are wholly dependent upon Him (Hebrews 4:4-10). For if I can’t trust God to care for my earthly livelihood one day a week, how can I truly say that I trust Him for my eternal life?

Every Sabbath reminds me of the love Jesus has given us through creation and redemption. Just as anniversaries are memorials designed to refresh our love for those closest to us, so the seventh day Sabbath reminds us of God’s love and our utter dependence on Him for life in this world and the next.

Reason Three – Experience

The third reason I keep the Sabbath is because I’ve responded to Jesus’ invitation to try it and see if His Word is true. God often invites us to test Him. One such occasion is in Malachi 3 where He challenges us to give Him one-tenth of our income. To those who accept, He promises to pour out a blessing.

The Sabbath also contains a challenge. God invites us to give Him one-seventh of our time. If we do, He promises to bless us. “If you…call the Sabbath a delight…then shall you delight yourself in the Lord” (Isaiah 58:13, 14). I experience this Sabbath blessing every week.

Resting on the Sabbath restores me physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. It de-stresses me from the burdens of life. I enjoy uninterrupted time with family and friends that keeps our relationships alive. Worshipping with fellow believers energizes me. I gain insight and inspiration from Bible study and sermons on the Sabbath.

The Sabbath gives me a reason to stop all earthly pursuits every week. Since it is God’s command, it leaves no room to compromise for a pressing project at work, or any other thing that might come up. This protects the Sabbath rest from simply becoming a good intention that I will get to one day. It is God’s command— no questions asked—so I happily do it and leave everything else to the other six days as God says.

I found Jesus’ words to be true—He made the Sabbath for man (Mark 2:28). That is, the Sabbath is not something that God does to us, but is something wonderful He does for us. In this busy age in which we live, I treasure all of the positive blessings that I get to experience because God has kindly given us the Sabbath.

I understand that my going to church on Saturday may appear strange. But now you know that I do it because I am committed to following the Bible, I love Jesus as my creator and savior, and I have discovered God’s Sabbath blessing. You can also enjoy this wonderful experience. If you’d like to know how, or you want more information, just contact any of the following:

Theme: CONNECTING PEOPLE TO NATURE.
It is another important day in history yet more significant because it is the World Environment Day(WED).
The WED is the United Nations principal vehicle for encouraging worldwide awareness and actions for the protection of our environment and our earth at large.
First held in 1974, it has been a flagship campaign for raising awareness on emerging environmental issues from marine pollution and global warming, to sustainable consumption and wildlife crime and many other issues with plans to mitigate these issues as a global community.
Man is the moulder of His environment, a beautiful gift handed down by nature. This gives him physical sustenance and affords him the opportunity for intellectual, moral, social and spiritual growth.
Our environment is ours to preserve and protect in order to get the best out of it and make it retain its originality and high quality for future generations. This is a duty for the old, young, small, mighty, the strong and even the weak.
Happy Environment Day to the World!

PoliticsOgoni Land Clean Up: One Year On by Ebiezprada(op): 2:09pm On Jun 02, 2017
02/06/2017
Exactly a year ago, the clean up of Ogoni land in Rivers state was flagged off by the Federal Government of Nigeria, a project that is supposed to yield more benefits than one can imagine for the Ogoni people and perhaps spread to its surrounding environs.
The United Nations Environmental Program(UNEP) report gave a detailed description of the situation of Ogoni land as regards the level of pollution through oil spill and its impact on the people and their environment. This report equally stated the need for a clean up without delay. It was also stipulated that the clean up is to last for a period of not less than 24 years, one of the biggest, if not the biggest in history.
It was a good thing at the time that our Federal Government accepted to carry out the clean up and that brought some sort of relief to the people of Ogoni. Today is exactly a year after the clean up was flagged off but what tangible or substantial work has been done to show the Federal Government's commitment towards achieving this task?
Of a truth, this is a project that will take time but then, the journey of a thousand miles begins with with a step and as at today, I can say that the Federal Government has failed to take ideal and proper steps to actualize this proposed project because of insincerity on its part. The Federal Government was quick to flag off a clean up project without carrying out a scoping exercise, a baseline survey or having a good environmental management plan, a project manager, a legal framework and all other necessities. It is also on record that the Board of Trustees for the clean up was set up almost six months after the flag off; these show a high level of failure on the part of the Federal Government.
The slow response of the Federal Government in carrying out this clean up is so disheartening and to a large extent, shows a lack of sincerity as seems to be one characteristic of the present day Federal Government of Nigeria. One may not be entirely wrong in thinking that the people of Ogoni are being marginalized.
The government has to step up its game by carrying out the clean up processes as speedily as possible as this will improve the socio-economic status of the people of Ogoni and even its surrounding environs. There is so much oil in Ogoni land but very little to show for this abundant resource.
May God help us!

It is about four months now after the December 10th, 2016 Rivers state re-run election. There was an audio-visual recording of two SARS operatives who were involved in marring the electoral process.
As at today, how has the Nigerian police Force disciplined Mr Fakorede and Mr Hasso??

This CP can shaa attempt to steal glory for what he didn't do. That no 4.....it was the army that shot the 'lord ben' and not the police. The boy and his gang almost stripped the police men present of their guns and uniforms but they ran with one police man injured on the head. This CP has come again. I just hope he doesn't follow the path of his predecessor.

What exactly is the problem and what do u want? Have many atheists been stopping u recently to preach atheism to u and are they telling u that u are foolish for believing in God?
Stopping me to preach atheism to me would really be a beauty because I don't allow religion create an obstacle for me.
The problem is.....in trying to show how superior they think atheism is, they don't have to abuse my right to a belief system.

I agree with a lot of what you wrote, and I do not question your right to believe in the god of your choice. However you should be aware of the centuries-long persecution of non-believers at the hands of believers, and even the insults directed at us on this site.

For my part I will continue to question and criticise religion; that is one thing I will not stop doing. However insults directed against other users of this site are inappropriate wherever they come from.
Do you best to be at peace with all men
Christianity EtcAtheism Taken To The Extreme by Ebiezprada(op): 9:15pm On Feb 21, 2017
Dear Atheists, as much as you think you have a right not to believe in the existence of God (or a god) so do I also have the right to believe in the existence of God.
If you tell me that God doesn't exist, well...If I'm in a good mood I'll try to put up a little argument with proof to tell you that God exists and if I'm in a bad mood, I'll probably just walk away. But, you coming to tell me how foolish or how wrong it is of me to believe in God...That could be the source of a serious problem.
Basically, we don't exactly need religion to make the world a better place. If everyone loved their neighbors as themselves and showed kindness all the time even to strangers then the world would be much better than we can imagine.
Even as a Christian, I don't agree with every preacher and sometimes I keep religion aside when trying to solve some of life's challenges.
If you have a problem with any Christian or whosoever, face them squarely and address the issues as they come. Stop this abuse of people's religion and stop your generalising thing because it makes them actually feel bad and unhappy.
Being an ATHEIST doesn't make you better than others but practicing love and kindness can keep you high above even your supposed equals.
I believe a word is enough for the wise.

EducationOur Earth Environment And Our Roles by Ebiezprada(op): 9:33am On Feb 04, 2017
We as humans were assigned to earth to conquer, dominate and take good care of our earth while making good use of our available natural resources.
Over time, studies have shown that our resources are becoming scare as a result of depletion. This is as a result of the ever increasing population of the earth. This increasing population also bring about increase in waste generation which leads to environmental pollution.
In other to save our earth from breaking down totally, the principle of sustainability was adopted to reduce these problems to the bearest minimum, while utilizing available natural resources as well as conserving and preserving the environment.
Achieving sustainability will enable the earth to continue supporting human life.
Sustainability involves a state in which the demands placed on the environment can be met without reducing its capacity to allow all people to live well, now and in the future.
Some people are so religious and heavenly minded that they've abandoned the beautiful earth given to us by God. Taking good care of our earth is a duty which belongs to you and I!
And for those who want to go to heaven without first taking good care of this earth you're in, do you think God will let you in? So that you'll come and keep keep the heaven disorganized?
Now that we are on earth, let us first take care of our earth!

Christianity EtcPRAYER: Things Worthy Of Note. by Ebiezprada(op): 2:54pm On Dec 24, 2016
I bring to you some things that are worthy of note about prayers. For people who pray fervently, honestly, humbly, occasionally and just to fulfill all righteousness, look at these points and make necessary adjustments.

» Prayer is not intended to work any change in God; it brings us into harmony with God.
» Prayer should not take the place of duty
» To expect that our prayers will always be answered in just the way we want is presumption.
» Prayer has not merit in itself to cleanse from sin.
» The most eloquent prayers are but idle words if they do not express the true sentiments of the heart.
» Prayer is no evidence of conversion if the life is not changed.
» Prayer is no substitute for obedience.
» Hurried, ocycasional prayers are not real communication with God.
» God abhors the prayers of the selfish.
» Dry, stale prayers help no one.
