Ok... time to share my Poe experience... 3rd missionary journey. Left Nigeria on the 15th sept with two toddlers and hubby with emirates. Emirates asked for fit to fly from dr and the one on their website. The flight was good just that my younger son disturbed my hubby all thru.
Anyway arrived Houston Poe there was no queue met a black cbp..
Cpb:what are you here for
Hubby: Vacation for me child birth for her
Cbp:how long are you staying
Hubby: 2 weeks and 12 weeks for them
Cbp: Did you inform the consulate of your intention
Me: Yes during my 2nd visa interview last year
Cbp: why did you have a second interview didn't you do drop box
Me: yes I did but was called for interview
Cbp: Why
Me: Cos I have my first child here but didn't say I was coming for child birth
Cpb: so u used ur visiting visa for childbirth
Me: yes
Cpb:ok... so you sorted it out at ur second interview

Cpb: So your visa of f last year is what you are using for this birth? Thts one visa 2 kids?
Me: yea

Me Yes and gave him all my drs correspondence from dr f

Me: No I usually don't make payment until I arrived ve
Cpb: Stamps us in and asked if we have food

Interview number 2
Got to agric one over Sabi officer collected my passport and started round two: went to his computer and started asking plenty questions: checked his computer oooo
Cbp: This is your 3rd birth in the Us
Me: yes
Cbp: did you pay ur bills
Me: yes
He kept checking computer ooo
Cbp: did you open any account her in 2014
Me: yes with Boa
He continued checking for his ancestors on the computer
Cbp: Do you have any outstanding bill?
Me: yes I do from my 2nd child's birth
The hospital sent me a bill of 13650 for treating jaundice for 3 days. I asked for a price breakdown and they gave me a discount of 6500: when I insisted on a price breakdown they further gave me another bill of 4400 so I started a payment plan of 200$ monthly
Cpb: do you have a copy of all these bills?
Gave him the 3 bills of 13500,6500 and 4400
Cpb: so it you and the hospital one year to negotiate this bill
Me: yes I just started the payment plan 3 months ago .
He kept looking at his computer oooo
Cbp: ok make sure you pay all your bills and keep your receipts. Scanned our bags and checked all the egusi, Maggie etc then said ook you seem experienced after 2 kids so you didn't bring any contraband. I just faked a smile cos this guy no understand say I don tire from emirates journey and all their investigations. I have been speaking in tongues since I got down from the plane and I just went to heaven to ask God for favor especially when he started asking about my unpaid bill... so I was tired physically and mentally. They sha let us pass o. Hubby was in shock till we got to the house we. Me sef I shock o but thank God. Av gone for my appointment with Dr F and waitin for baby to come. Thts my testimony.

Methodist hospital and their bills,..I had my baby on the 11th of Aug... He spent 4 days in Nicu for Jaundice and they charged us 13500 for just jaundice treatment ..lol.. Meanwhile in 2014 when I had my son in oakbend, he was in NICU for 2days jaundice things too and we were charged 850... it's so funny how methodist gather their liver to dash pple bill. Texas children also sent Bill of 1900 as per pediatrician that took care of the baby's treatment in NICU... it is well with them. Nonsense

Well i remember when I had my son thr I paidb before leaving the hospital but I got a bill of 3k, I called Dr F he said it's normal tht they 'll update their records tht I should call them and say am his patient etc etc.. they later sent me my zero balance..so I guess it's normal, they 'll send u ur zero balance later..this was 2014 and I paid 850$... Besides how much is epidural now sef?

@Lajole I booked him as an infant o... But they gave him kids meal, fruit cup etc. You just need to ask nicely.

I bot one way ticket for him, when returning i 'll buy another one way ticket.. it's cheaper that way for me..

Pls i want to ask how u booked ur toddlers ticket, cos now she's 21 month and she's still eligible to travel as an infant but if u are spending 16weeks she will be 2 and dat makes her a child traveller, How did u manage this? My dear traveling witha toddler isn't easy... But I understand we have to cos I can't leave my son for anybody.... Just jejely follow Emirates o.... The plane is very big and comfortable, when we got to Dubai, we showered in d bathroom and went to eat.. I allowed him play in the airport nursery so the layover went fast. When we boarded my son started his "wahala" one of the air hostess offered me anoda sit with 3 empty seats beside me, he refused to sleep on the seats just wanted to lay on my long belle( very annoying) when d crying was too much etc they came and carried him for a walk upstairs... An hour later I asked after my son( make e no b say dem don use my pikin do oil money .....) They took me upstairs,see d boy lounging in first class, sleeping on the bed peacefully with sleeping seatbelt in case of turbulence... Mhen! This children no like suffer o...( but first class sweet sha) 16 hrs journey to Houston is like10 mins! Chai anyway I jejely left him thr and went back to my economy ... When he woke up ddey brought him to me and we managed ourselves to Houston...walked round the planee etc.. he Is 21 months and they gave him kids meal... The flight was long but they were of great help.

@ ebiv please how did you manage to travel with your toddler via Emirates?? I will be traveling alone with mine ( she's 2 toddlers in 1!) and I'm having 'nightmares' already! The airlines with shorter layover cost an arm and two legs! I hear Istanbul airport is like idumota , layover is at least 8 hours!

Me: yea just my appointment for Thursday and cost from doctor
Cbp: ok how much do you have
Me: 6k
Cbp: I can see you paid ur previous bills so make sure you pay ur bills and don't accept any aid if not we ll cancel the visa ( In my mind I say cancel wetin abeg no prophesy negative things ontop my visa o.) Enjoy your stay.
Off to agriculture...nothing was seized they didn't even ask plenty questions... Thank God for every every... Chilling for my appointment with Dr F on Thursday...

Yes oh,that's very true,people who have collected APL and are in training should give us update on how is going so we can prepare cause we are not hearing anything from them. Thanks all

Travelled via emirates on the 29th with my 14 month old,the journey combined is about 24+ hours(preggies beware!!!)

No secondary inspection but had to go to agriculture cos of the orishirishi my mum packed for my sister.
In my experience Emirates is a fantastic airline but the downside is the flight is too loonnnggg especially if you are traveling with a toddler,the stress was a bit too much for both of us.the upside is that I was given a meal voucher and I got to choose whatever restaurant I wanted to eat at,lo was given alot of toys however he was a tad bit too restless to play with them,the 4hours transit went by fast.
That's about what happened people.

I applied for visiting visa with hubby in 2014 though preggy I didn't disclose had my baby in Houston with Dr F etc etc
I even went on another6weeks vac later in 2015. Long story short. Time to reapply I applied with hubby via drop box hubby got his visa while I was asked to come for interview.

Vo: was is your intention to have a baby in the us

Vo: So you lied at your interview
Me: Am sorry I was scared tht I may be refused if I said I was preggy

Did you actually get a United flight from Abuja? As far as I know they don't fly from Abuja, even tried when I was about traveling last month and was told they only fly from Lagos.
Unless maybe it's a new development?

. Yes Uniteda airline is affiliated with Lufthansa so you can book a flight with United from abj and they'll connect you to Lufthansa even thoughy you'll pay to United.
