dublinkmy6: I pray that after graduating you will always find jobs that will treat you the way fg is treating the lecturers. Amen. Like I said, FG should not pay them shishi. After school, many employers want graduates who are less than 26 years of age with NYSC, but ASUU has added 2 years extra to all students, and many are now outside that age bracket. Someone can’t even be in the right age bracket for employment any longer, due to ASUU strike. If FG pays them a dime I will do protest. Stupid union that have wasted my house rents in 2020 and 2022. |

Maxymilliano: No basis for comparison.
Life was much more easier for Nigerians prior to the coming of the evil ruling party. Infrastructure and power, APC is far much better. Corruption, education, insecurity, economy, APC is far worse. But generally, Nigeria was much happier to live inside and work in, under PDP. If PDP can improve their infrastructure performance I will take them over APC. Moh247 |

She is just a lose girl without moral compass.
I never believe anyone who cries crocodile tears that they’ve repented and won’t flirt or cheat again, or that the flirt or cheat was a mistake. I believe it’s in their nature.
If 5 of such flirts and cheats promise not to do it again, 3 or 4 will repeat it, but you can’t blame them cos it’s their nature. 1 or 2 may “change their nature” and not do it again. But you never can know which coin you will be dealt or if your woman will be part of the 2 side that will change, or the 3 side that will never change.
Best way is to just let go! And find someone who never has a history of cheating or being lose. |

Pymetrics: I'm not a lecturer but you don't understand the situation very well. If you stand by FG on no work no pay that's fine, but ASUU member should not continue doing the works that supposed to be done during that strike period. For example, marking of concluded examination script, continue the suspended examination, supervising existing project students, continue ongoing research work and so on. They should just resume and start afresh a new session and forget the abandoned previous tasks. If that is welcome by FG, then no work no pay stand. However, FG want them to complete the abandoned tasks at the same time taking new tasks when they resume. But they don't want to pay. Only the lectures was affected due to the strike, all other tasks will still be completed when they resume. If FG is we will pay 75% of the strike period, I would have agreed to that because ASUU cannot pay back the missed lectures only. Please cancel ongoing research, semester and what have you. The dis-continued semester needs to be re-taught anyway because students can no longer remember what they were being taught. Cancel everything and forget your salaries, let’s start afresh. Are we cool now ? Can schools now resume on Monday? |

I do business, i transport goods and export. Degree is just an appendage. In business especially in one you’re self-employed, there is actually no age limit. That clause is restricted to individuals who are employees and in the seek out for employers. Thanks. Like I said, please continue the strike. No be my salary another person go chop. |

How was your first year lectures? How many times did you sit to write notes? Uncle, FG will not do zilch ! Are you surprised no presidential candidate is speaking about doing anything for ASUU if elected into power ? Because they don’t have plans for you guys. Because they know how selfish you guys are. You speak of all these but in real sense, it is salaries, arrears, increase of retirement age, and other selfish, not selfless demands, that you prefer FG to grant. |

Pathetic thinking, you will graduate in 2030, your parents should better beg them. I sponsor myself to school, so my parents don’t come into the equation. BrutusOj: And a few other greedy people will loot the money budgeted for the salary of university lecturers abi? You can talk about them forfeiting allowances but not their salary. Do you realise that some of them have been living on credit since the strike began? Have they been feeding on grass since the strike began? If not for the irresponsible government, there wouldn't have been strike in the first place. Lett be objective when responding to issues such as this please. Who will compensate the students for 7 months loss in their life? Some can't go to NYSC due to age factor.? Yet banks and other top companies will be asking of 26 years with 2 years experience!!!. ASUU always get paid whenever strikes ends, who pays the students for time lost! |

Middleborn: My question to the FG and whoever supports the FG in this persecution of Lecturers is, who is going to complete the backlog of work that has stockpiled since February 14?
The nature of work done by academic lecturers puts them in a position where there is a lot of work to be done in every semester from the class room to the lab to the office dealing with scripts and documents etc. In most cases, Universities are under staffed, hence the workload. If the lecturers don't do their work for 6 months, that job will be there waiting for them because unlike other kinds of jobs where you can just resume and start from current activities, the lecturers have to start from where they stopped. The students cannot for example move to the next level if they have not been taught, if they don't take their exam and have their scripts marked.
So if the FG can contract the backlog of work stockpiled since February 14 till date to someone else, then their no work no pay policy will be upheld. In fact the FG should be helping the lecturers to resolve this backlog of work that have resulted due to the striking process, this would show their commitment to education. But you see, the FG doesn't give a fvck whether the work is done or not. not paying the lecturers the six months salary would mean that they can resume and abandon the work on the table. The fact that the FG know this and has decided not to do anything about it is what should disturb the students and Nigeria as a whole. You waste 2 years of my life, but want me to support you getting paid for wasting my life ? I will rather waste 2 more years than support FG paying you for those months of strike. You were paid during 2020 strike merely because FG had sympathy owing to covid 19 lockdown. FG can change their mind later to pay you, I won’t know. But if it were left for me as a student, I don’t support you getting paid. My house rent is wasting and I’ll pay new one from nothing, my years are wasting but you want me to support you. Please go on with the strike, who has lost 2 years can easily lose few more months. My joy is you will never get paid for what you had done. |

iezeiyida: The current federal government is very dishonest and stupid. They haven't taken any good action to resolve the issue.. It's shame. You use 1.4 billion to buy cars, use billions for projects in Niger Republic, acquit corrupt politicians and civil servants who have embezzled billions of like naira Abba Kyari, Ahmed Idris and others through the court, but you can't financially provide for ASUU's demands as you agreed with them, initially. Buhari is a leadership failure If you’re never tired of collecting loans, keep on with the strike till new year. You fit no even see money buy bag of rice for Christmas for your kids. |
