Omimah: On DRAMA you made a big mistake because you lack an understanding of how the first school of drama came about, in Ibadan, and later in Ife. In Ibadan it is called Theatre Arts. In Ife it is called Dramatic Arts. They do almost the same thing, and are reputed to be pace setters, having produced the best graduates and practisioners in that field. The bottom line is this, universities may choose to give different names to departments without the courses being offered altered. What UI and OAU call theatre arts and dramatic arts respectively, is called performing arts in Unilorin. On MUSIC, I believe you reserve your comment because you think it is a waste of money and time studying music in the higher institution when there are people that didn't even go to university are dominating "music" today. A musician, both those that studied it school and those that know about it are different from the Psquares, Dbanj, Tuface, etc, of today. The likes of Tuface, may I surprise you, are not musicians, but entertainers. Can you compare the music of Psquare with that of Dare Art Alade, who read music? Dare knows the nitty gritty of the art, having learnt it from not just Unilag but also from his father, Art Alade. Can you compare TerryG with Lagba? Can TerryG identify musical notes? Did you just say Telly G? ,.,,, no na nefa ,,. He can nefa know dat na ,,,, even keys on the keyboard are strange to him ,,,, even sofa notations na story for for the gods for them ,,,, |

finofaya: @OP, That's nice, really. But let's not get ahead of ourselves here. That is not a formula 1 car, or even any sort of race car. Also, we can already manufacture or assemble vehicles in Nigeria. In fact, cars are assembled and reassembled everyday by auto mechanics without university education. Its nice that these students were able to build their own chassis tho, and possibly other parts, especially with such a tight budget. If we could get the specifications of this car so that we can know exactly what was done, that would be even better. More grease to their elbows! But abeg how many you don Assemble kwanu? |

hardbody: My answer? I wrote Onadeko's paper then. If i recall, we had terrorists in the guys that took as Legal Drafting and Conveyancing. Men who will come and be boasting on how many people couldn't even decipher the requirements of their questions. At any rate are you suggesting that the principles of law and practise have so changed that what they are now teaching you is different from what law practice entails? Do we now approach legal practise from two perspectives; the old and the new school? Your argument and reasoning befuddles even the wise. I now believe that cliche which says where ignorance is bliss, it is folly to be wise. I rest my case sir. PLEASE DEAR LAWYER ,.,,, TAKE IT EASY WITH THIS GRAMMER BIKO,,,,TRY AND SUMMARISE AS WELL ,.,,, NO VEX IF HE IS TALKING VEXABLE THINGS PLS ,.,,, SO THAT THIS WILL NOT LEAD TO QUOTING 1999 CONSTITUTIONS HERE ,,,, well if it gets to dat stage , i go just Unfollow asap.,,,, |

akinsadeez: It isn't always the fault of the senior lawyers or the judges. After Ibori's case, EFCC also prosecuted Dimeji Bankole, Bode George, Ikuforiji,(Lagos state speaker) and lately Fred Ajudua and all those cases ended up in the accused being discharged and acquitted. Infact, in some cases like Dimeji's case, it ended in a no-case submission which is like the lowest of lows when it comes to criminal prosecution. Are you saying the different judges were also compromised in all those other cases? We need to start asking questions of the EFCC prosecuting team itself. Their conviction rate is abysmal. Most times they just rush to court without building a credible case backed by solid evidence just to impress the public. When d court inevitably throws out their case we point fingers at d judges n defence lawyer, calling them 'senior thieves'. Every accused is entitled to be represented by counsel. The onus is on EFCC to put its house in order. Well said Sir,.,,, but i'm not a legal practitioner to understand better what is going on under that field ,,,, thanks for the emphases made to clear my conscience of any doubt,,,, my field is the Military Psychology wher we are more or less Soldiers,.,,, in other words as you rightly said ,,,, EFCC should step up ,,,, just look at the Oscar Pistorious Final Judgement today ,.,,, EVERY THING WAS DONE SYSTEMATICALLY ,.,,, but if you see the way both Criminal and Civil Proceedings are being heard in our Nigerian Courts today ,,,, you will notice we still have more than alot work to do |

hardbody: God bless you sir. It is interesting to hear people talk about JAMB and WAEC not favouring them, a euphemism for saying i failed because i did not prepare well. Now they have been marked down and a different scheme introduced. Balderdash. Failure to prepare well has always amounted to preparation to fail well. We sef go the same Law School when we all had to use the Adeola Odeku auditorium and when there were no hostels or at best they were allocated by ballot. We still struggled coming from all parts of Lagos to write our qualifying examinations. This same OO taught me Civil Procedure and we all did not fail. Pinnacle: Do you really know the meaning of Olodo? You can't be an Olodo for something you don't know at all. Let me put it this way: if you are taught something in class and you forgot during exam, then you are an Olodo. But if it is a field you are not familiar with, l can't call you an Olodo . if I study theatre art in school and I can't balance equation in chemistry, I am not an Olodo in such case. You are very correct my dear ,,,, pls dont take it to heart pls ,,,, cos i was 100% joking pls |
