https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BLYBdHlAYdg Students under the aegis of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South West zone, on Monday blocked the road leading to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, protesting against the ongoing strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU). The students who were blocked by security operatives from gaining access to the airport took over the road, preventing traffic flow both inward and outward from the facility. The protesters were led by NANS National Taskforce Chairman, Olumide Ojo; Vice President, External Affairs, Akinteye Babatunde; Public Relations Officer, Giwa Yisa Temitope; Zone D Coordinator, Adegboye Emmanuel Olatunji; Deputy Senate President, Ekundina Elvis; Ondo JCC Chairman, Omotosho Surprise; Lagos JCC Chairman, Olusesi Tolulope Samson; Ogun JCC Chairman, Kehinde Damilola Simeon and Oyo JCC Chairman, Adeleke Quadri Abidemi. The students, in their hundreds, demanded an immediate end to the strike which has entered its seventh month, urging the Nigerian government to meet the demands of the striking lecturers to enable them to return to class. They could be seen singing and dancing on the road, creating gridlock on the busy road. In what appears to be an attempt to forestall the protest, SaharaReporters gathered that the students were earlier intimidated by armed police officers. “We have taken over the road already despite the rainfall, they mobilised lots of security operatives to tame us but nothing shall shake us until our students resume back to class,” NANS Zone D coordinator, Adegboye told SaharaReporters. https://saharareporters.com/2022/09/19/breaking-nigerian-students-protest-block-lagos-airport-road-over-prolonged-strike cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

Abdul05:How is Peter Obi a secessionist master? If you prove that Obi is a secessionist master then prove that Tinubu is not oduduwa nation financier. Also prove that Atiku Abubakar is not a sponsor of bandits and Boko Haram. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ALZyq8cshhc (UK military pay last respect to Queen Elizabeth) Over 500 world leaders, comprising heads of state and government will grace the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II today. The guests and dignitaries have started to arrive in London for the final rites of the UK monarch, who passed away on Thursday, September 8 at the age of 96. The Queen’s death has literally brought the UK to a standstill as the funeral rites have dominated activities in the country and beyond in honour of the Queen, who reigned for 70 years, the longest so far in the history of the British Monarchy. US President, Joe Biden and First Lady Jill on Sunday paid their respects to the Queen at Westminster Hall. Earlier UKraine First Lady Olena Zelenky was seen paying respect to the Queen. The Nigerian Delegation is led by Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, who is representing President Muhammadu Buhari, who is in the United States for the United Nations General Assembly. Canadian Prime Minister Justine Traudaeu, the Emperor of Japan, Naruhito and Empress Masato among others have also confirmed their attendance. Meanwhile London police chiefs and medics are bracing up for a security nightmare at the Queen’s funeral as they balance the need to protect the world’s top leaders and dignitaries with the public’s desire to mourn their much-loved monarch. Some have compared the event in scale to the London Olympics, but in truth the state funeral, the first in Britain since Winston Churchill died in 1965, is likely to dwarf the 2012 sporting extravaganza. Codenamed “Operation London Bridge,” arrangements for Britain’s longest-serving monarch have been carefully pored over for years by the many agencies involved, with the Queen herself signing off on every detail before her death. The city has already seen unprecedented crowds viewing the official lying-in-state, which will run until 6.30 a.m. (1.30 a.m. ET) on Monday, just hours before the funeral procession to Westminster Abbey commences. The sheer numbers caused queueing to be temporarily paused on Friday. In an interview with Sky News earlier this week, London Mayor Sadiq Khan said of the scale: “If you think about the London marathon, the carnival, previous royal weddings, the Olympics — it’s all that in one.” The three police forces which operate in the British capital — the Metropolitan Police, the City of London Police and British Transport Police — initiated their well-rehearsed plans across London as soon as the death of Elizabeth II was announced on September 8. The funeral will be the “largest single policing event” that London’s Metropolitan Police force has undertaken, its Deputy Assistant Commissioner Stuart Cundy told reporters Friday. “As a single event, this is larger than the 2012 Olympics. It is larger than the Platinum Jubilee weekend. And the range of officers, police staff, and all those supporting the operation is truly immense,” he said. It is also set to “be the largest global protection operation the Met Police has ever undertaken” as “hundreds of world leaders and VIPs” descend upon London, he said. When asked specifically how high-profile guests would be transported to London’s Westminster Abbey for the funeral service, Cundy declined to give specific details, saying it would not be conducive to a “safe and secure event and policing operation.” Meanwhile the mammoth logistical operation has involved myriad other aspects, such as medics, toilets, street cleaning and road closures. The size of the crowds turning out to pay their last respects is “impossible” to predict, according to Andy Byford, commissioner for Transport for London (TfL). Byford described the funeral as “the biggest event” the transport network has ever faced in an interview with Britain’s PA Media news agency. Comparing it to the Olympics, he said: “This is more challenging. It’s over a long period and although there are estimates, it is impossible to say with certainty how many people will turn up to the various elements, so we’ve assumed the highest possible number and we’re aligning our service to match that.” Invitations have been sent to world leaders, politicians, public figures and European royals, as well as more than 500 international dignitaries. The security considerations are mind-blowing. The British government is taking the lead on logistics but has refused to comment on specific “operational security arrangements.” US President Joe Biden was among the first to confirm his attendance at the event, which will be attended by up to 2,000 people. Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako will also travel to London, as will many other royals and global leaders. Hundreds of police officers from other forces are supporting the Met, yet the attendance of so many VIPs will pile on the pressure. “Everything will have been negotiated,” said Morgan, explaining that some concessions will have been made. There simply aren’t enough police and protection officers to give an escorted convoy to everybody who would normally get it on a standalone visit. Therefore people are being put together on a logistical basis,” Morgan said. Huge crowds have waited for hours to catch a glimpse of the Queen lying in state before her funeral. Simon Morgan is a former royalty protection officer who was responsible for overseeing senior royals including the Queen and new King between 2007 and 2013. “It will be seamless,” Morgan, who now runs private security firm Trojan Consultancy, told CNN. “The policing plan and security behind it is a two-fold operation: security and public safety are both intrinsic.” Morgan said the events surrounding the state funeral have been in the pipeline for decades. “London Bridge came to fruition in the 60s. It’s been subject to review at least three times a year. “Elements are discussed and indeed some elements have been already used in isolation,” he said, citing the Queen Mother’s funeral in 2002, royal weddings and the Platinum Jubilee as examples. Regular reviews were vital in combating the changing nature of security threats — from Irish nationalism in the 1970s and 80s, to Islamic extremism more recently. White House aides have declined to provide specific security details for President Biden’s visit, but say they are working with their British counterparts to ensure the demands of presidential security are met. The FBI will monitor potential threat streams and share any information with UK security service MI5. When reports emerged last week that world leaders would be required to ride on a bus to the funeral, US officials were skeptical and shot down the suggestion Biden would travel to Westminster Abbey in a coach. In 2018, when other world leaders traveled together in a bus to a World War I memorial in Paris, then-US President Donald Trump traveled separately in his own vehicle. The White House explained at the time the separate trip was “due to security protocols.” “Everything will have been negotiated,” said Morgan, explaining that some concessions will have been made. There simply aren’t enough police and protection officers to give an escorted convoy to everybody who would normally get it on a standalone visit. Therefore, people are being put together on a logistical basis,” Morgan said. https://leadership.ng/over-500-world-leaders-to-grace-queens-funeral-today/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6kuFLpfAf4 (Video showing attack on Peter Obi supporters) The Labour Party has condemned the attack on Peter Obi's supporters in Ebonyi state by the police. Photo: The Punch A statement published on the party's website said that Abure condemned in strong terms the disruption of a rally by supporters of LP's flag bearer by officers of the Nigeria Police Force. His words: “I wish to condemn in the strongest possible terms the unprovoked, barbaric, uncivilized behaviour of the Ebonyi State Governor for mobilizing the police to disrupt a peaceful assembly of our party supporters in his state. “The action of the Governor is not only uncivilized, but it is also a rapee of the constitutional rights of citizens to peaceful association and assembly." Dangerous precedence for the 2023 election Stating that the attack on unarmed Nigerians who were conducting a rally in the state will set a bad precedence for the 2023 election, Abure alleged that the ruling party has failed Nigerians. He also said that the party, its supporters and the presidential candidate will not be deterred by actions and gimmicks showcased by those opposed to their move to rescue Nigeria from all her woes. He added: “This is setting a dangerous precedence for the 2023 general elections. The APC which has failed Nigerians in all indices of governance from security, the economy and welfare of citizens, healthcare delivery and the provision of basic amenities is engaged in a shameful and condemnable attempt to muscle citizens from peacefully exercising their constitutional right of peaceful assembly unleashed the police on them. “I call on all peace-loving Nigerians at home and abroad as well as the international community to condemn this brazen executive recklessness and abuse of power. "We will never be cowed in our march to liberate Nigeria from the shackles of bad governance, crippling corruption and insecurity. “ https://www.legit.ng/politics/1492784-labour-party-breathes-fire-slams-governor-umahi-police-attacks-peter-obis-supporters-ebonyi/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BcV1Bt9-HE Major roads and streets in Owerri, Imo State capital, were, yesterday, deserted, as President Muhammadu Buhari visited for the commissioning of some signature projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma. The President’s visit coincided with the sit-at-home directive issued by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in solidarity with the detained leader of the pro-Biafra group, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, whose case came up for hearing, yesterday. As early as 8:00a.m., the usual bustling Bank, Okigwe, Weathedral, Douglas and Teltow roads were deserted. Also, major markets, shopping malls and commercial banks did not open for business. There were, however, heavy presence of security agents in strategic locations in Owerri, to ensure a hitch-free visit. The President was in the state last September to also commission some projects. Buhari subsequently met with Southeast leaders. However, other governors of the region were conspicuously absent. Speaking while addressing some stakeholders at the Government House, Owerri, President Buhari said his administration had done ‘extremely well’ since its inception in 2015, but regretted that those who ought to say it are not doing so. The President, who was in the state to inaugurate three critical projects executed by Uzodimma – Phase 1 52km Owerri-Okigwe road, dualised 35km Owerri-Orlu road and the rebuilt Imo House of Assembly complex, said his administration has had some economic challenges, including dwindling oil prices, crude oil theft, insecurity largely posed by Boko Haram insurgency, among other insecurity challenges, but despite the hiccups, his administration has sailed on, accusing those who have the onus to highlight it of not doing so. He said: “This administration has done extremely well. Those who are supposed to say it are not saying it now. I don’t know why. “I will continue to support the government of Imo State to continue to deliver the dividends of democracy, irrespective of the party affiliation.” He also said despite earning so much from crude oil, his predecessors failed to develop the country’s infrastructure. “To be frank with you, I blame the Nigerian elite for not thinking hard about our country. Between 1999 and 2015 when we came in, I will like people to check the Central Bank and the NNPC, the average production was 2.1million bpd. Nigeria was earning at this time 2.1 million times, but look at the state of infrastructure, look at the road, look at the railway, it was virtually killed. Power, we are still struggling. “But when we came, unfortunately, the militants were unleashed, production went down to half a million bpd. Again, unfortunately, the cost of petroleum went down to $28 from $37.” The President maintained that the Second Niger Bridge and provision of other infrastructure in the Southeast were eloquent testimonies of his administration’s commitment to the growth of the zone. He recalled that when he visited the state last year, he appealed to the people to support Uzodimma, to bring progress to the state, expressing happiness that his advice was adhered to, leading to the infrastructural growth provided by the Uzodimma administration. Earlier, Uzodimma said the roads were abandoned because of their topography, noting particularly, the Amucha-Njaba erosion area on Owerri-Orlu road, which the late former president Shehu Shagari, about 40 years ago, could not realise, but with Buhari’s support, has now been fixed. He also expressed joy that the Owerri-Okigwe road, under construction, traverses seven councils, leading to Abia, Enugu, Ebonyi and other states. He maintained: “Our goal is to leave Imo better than we met it. We refused to be distracted by pockets of insecurity and social media blackmailers and propaganda, especially those that are politically contrived.” The governor added that but for the prompt intervention of President Buhari, bandits and hoodlums would have overrun the state. “Your prompt intervention helped to restore peace and order in our state. But for your timely, prompt and fatherly intervention through the security agencies, Imo would have been overrun by bandits and hoodlums. For this, I also say thank you Mr President,” he said. In recent times, Imo has witnessed killings and kidnappings by ‘unknown gunmen’. Uzodimma had inaugurated the state’s chapter of the Southeast security outfit, Ebubeagu, but the attacks had continued. In his speech, the President-General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Prof George Obiozor, said in as much as Ndigbo have seen some projects executed by the present administration, they were also firm believer in Nigeria’s project, demanding equity, justice and fair play, as witnessed by other parts of the country. He said: “I wish to reiterate and speak on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, both at home and in the diaspora, that our people are committed to the Nigerian project. That we desire a country that provides a platform and an opportunity to contribute our utmost best to the growth of our fatherland. “We seek justice, equity, fairness, and going by our antecedents, we are in every part of Nigeria and therefore claim to be the most federating of all Nigerians.” Obiozor’s remarks came at a time when some Igbos seek the secession of the Southeast geopolitical zone from the Nigerian State. One of the arrowheads of the agitation for secession, Kanu, of the proscribed IPOB, has been in court facing terrorism-related charges. Leaders of the region had, at different times, appealed to President Buhari to consider a political solution for the release of Kanu. Although the President promised to consider it, he later made a U-turn, maintaining that he would not interfere in the judicial proceedings. Those at the reception for the President were the governr’s wife, Chioma Uzodimma; the Deputy Senate President, Omo-Agege; his counterpart in the House of Representatives, Idris Wase; deputy governor of Imo, Prof. Placid Njoku; Chairman of Elders Council of Ohanaeneze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu; a former military administrator of Imo State/Foreign Affairs Minister, Maj.-Gen. Ike Nwachukwu (rtd); former governor of Imo, Ikedi Ohakim; Minister of State for Education, Goodluck Nana Opiah and former deputy governor of Imo, Dr. Douglas Acholonu, among others. https://guardian.ng/news/owerri-streets-deserted-as-buhari-commissions-projects-in-imo/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4s2KAoP_EAU FORMER NIGER-DELTA warlord and Founder, Niger-Delta People Volunteer Force, NDPVF, Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has cautioned the leader of moribund Movement for the Emancipation of Niger-Delta, MEND, Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, who the Federal Government awarded a pipeline surveillance contract, last month, and soldiers working with him, to keep away from oil pipelines in his Kalabari territory, Rivers State. Dokubo-Asari, said the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, spite him by awarding the pipeline surveillance contract in Rivers State to Tompolo, bragged in a viral record that he would serve it hot to anybody who entered his Kalabari homeland in connection with an oil pipeline. He also said he would prefer to collaborate with President Muhammadu Buhari than with detained Nnamdi Kanu, who he accused of carrying out genocide in Igboland. Dokubo-Asari said: “You (Tompolo) took pipeline contract in Delta, your place, and then you come to Kalabari to take pipeline contract because you are an Ijaw man; because only you know how to chop (eat). “You take from Gbaramatu land, you take Itsekiri people own (portion), you take Urhobo people own (portion), you take Isoko people own (portion), you take Kwale people own (portion), you take all. “You take the whole of Bayelsa own (portion), and then you come to Kalabari. If Timipre Sylva gave you because he wants to clip my wings, when he was a House of Assembly member, did I clip his wing? “I am older than he is. When he was governor, did I clip his wings? “That I am becoming too powerful, so he connived and gave pipeline contract so that he will destroy what we are doing to make the government he is part of, stable. “Therefore, he brought Tompolo and Tompolo gathered people and told them he would buy guns and give them. Let them come. “I am not boasting. I think soldiers will guide him here. Let them come. I did not talk about Rivers state. I said Kalabari. They cannot take it. Let them take any place they like, not Kalabari. “You are collecting over N4.5 billion a month for doing nothing and people come to Oporoza to support you. “Leave the pipeline in Kalabari here, you cannot take it. Take other places, it is Ijaw land, yes. But this one in Kalabari, you cannot take it.” Maintaining that Tompolo did not save him as some people purported, he asked, “Where did Tompolo save me? I am the one that saved Tompolo. “People are alive, they know. Does Tompolo leave Oporoza? Does he not know me? Saved me where, how? “I took my things there. I went to fight them with my men. When I want my things back, they did not agree to give me. “Tompolo brought 48 rifles for me which I take go. Did they give me one human being? I take my boat go, I take my guns to go, I take my General Purpose Machine Gun, GPMG go, take my rocket launchers go in 1998/1999, 2003(sic). “Igbo blood flows in my vein, so that is it. I come from five generations of educated people; I went to the school when some of you were in the bush. “If anybody has betrayed Ijaw nation, they are the ones. Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, is dead today. “Even the amnesty they took is sabotaged because of them. In their greed to have everything to themselves, they destroyed everything. “‘We want to take chairman, managing director of NDDC. I must be the person to nominate, NDDC, NIMASA, I must be the person to nominate’. “These are the people and betrayers, evil men that have kept Ijaw land like this, believing that they must have everything at the expense of other people. “You are saying Tompolo saved me, how? Since we have been fighting, did you hear Army has entered my camp before since I fought? “They destroyed his Camp-5 in three days. Until today, the army is in Camp-5, which is a military base. “Since we have been fighting, did you hear the army sent troops to my camp?” https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/09/stay-away-from-kalabari-dokubo-asari-warns-tompolo-soldiers/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

Fejoku:You have said it all |
Now we know what Wike is fighting for. Ayu must resign |
cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1UfV-xRfvmc The governor of Rivers State has revealed why he wants PDP Chairman, Ayu to resign. In the recent interview Wike revealed that there was agreement in PDP before the party's presidential primaries that if the winner of presidential candidate comes from North, the chairman of the party must come from South and if south wins presidential ticket, north was to produce the party's chairman. Wike said this was agreed upon to balance the powers in the party and make all regions feel a sense of belonging. PDP NWC Insisits Ayu Must Remain As National Chairman After weeks of splitting hairs in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by gladiators and loyalists of two camps – Atiku Abubakar and Governor Nyesom Wike’s – the major opposition party, yesterday, ended its 97th National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja, with a successful troubleshooting exercise. Party stakeholders arose from the make or mar meeting with some far-reaching decisions aimed at dousing the tension that had gripped the party since it concluded its convention in May. First, the NEC passed a vote of confidence on its national chairman that had been in the eye of the storm, Iyorchia Ayu, as well as the National Working Committee (NWC), putting to rest the clamour for Ayu’s resignation by some aggrieved party members. Second, chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Jibrin Walid, at an earlier meeting of the board, resigned his position to pave way for the emergence of the BoT secretary, Senator Adolphus Wabara, to become the acting chairman. Third, Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, emerged as the new chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum minutes after the former chairman, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State resigned from the position. But national publicity secretary of the PDP, Debo Ologunagba, denied reports that Tambuwal resigned his position as chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, stating that no such development took place at the meeting. The communiqué read by Ologunagba stated that NEC approved the structure and organogram of its presidential campaign council for the 2023 presidential election. However, the membership of the council is yet to be constituted. “NEC approved a unified campaign structure across the country for the 2023 general elections, which will focus more on the grassroots,” he said, with no reference to Makinde contained in the communiqué. The meeting was poorly attended by governors as only four were at the meeting. They were Tambuwal, Darius Ishaku of Taraba, Douye Diri of Bayelsa and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi. At the meeting, members expressed worries about the crisis, but encouraged the party to take further steps in addressing the issues. Atiku, however, cautioned that all efforts at resolving the issues must be within the Constitution and rules of the party. He said: “Many speakers have alluded to family disagreements, which are normal in families as well as political families. But what I can assure you is that we are determined to resolve those issues internally. “As a political party we have our Constitution, our rules and regulations. I want to urge that no matter the level of disagreement, it should be resolved within our rules.” In a comment while resigning as BoT chairman, Walid said his action was to help the party and Atiku win the 2023 election. “All we want to achieve is that Atiku becomes the president of Nigeria by all means; that is why I decided to step down from the BoT. And I discussed this with the candidate and he agreed with me. If the party wins, I will be given a bigger position,” he said. Wabara cautioned against reckless statements by members, especially during this crisis. He said the PDP has an inbuilt mechanism to solve problems. “I want to advise us that we should always de-brief ourselves in-house no matter what the anger is, rather than playing to the gallery. We should watch and control our utterances, because by and large, only God knows tomorrow.” A total of 397 NEC members, including past national chairmen of the party, immediate past vice president of the country, Namadi Sambo; PDP presidential candidate, Atiku, among others attended. All the 397 NEC members present voted in support of Ayu to continue as chairman of the party. In his remarks, Ayu commended Walid for sacrificing his position as BoT chairman for the progress of the party. He ordered that a standing ovation be observed in Walid’s honour, which was promptly done. He expressed delight at the attendance recorded by the meeting saying that whatever impression anybody may have, the party is making progress. HOWEVER, the Rivers governor, Wike, has vowed to sustain the fight for the return of a healthy party structure that will allow an even representation of the interest of the North and South in the national leadership of the party, insisting that Ayu must go. The governor said the current leadership structure, with the North holding the presidential ticket as well as the national chairman positions, was against the Constitution of the PDP and a gross injustice to the South. Wike made the observation at the inauguration of the Ahoada Campus and staff quarters of the Rivers State University, which was performed by Makinde, yesterday. Wike said the resignation of the BoT chairman was a distraction, because Atiku had told him that Ayu must relinquish his position. The governor said: “Ayu said if the presidential candidate comes from the North, he will resign after the convention of our party, and that the chairman of our party will come from the South. When the North-Central leaders met in the house of the Bauchi governor, Bala Mohammed, he said so there. When he met the caucus of the Senate, he told them that. “Now, when we finished our convention on Sunday, the candidate of the party came to see me in my house in Abuja on Monday around 10:30 a.m. The candidate told me he wants us to work together, and then he said: ‘Look, Ayu must go.’ “I said, why? He (Atiku) said because when a candidate comes from the North, the chairman will come from the South. “They have today told the BoT chairman to resign. Who is talking about chairman of BoT? What is the role of a BoT? It is an advisory body. We have never zoned BoT. It is not a decision-making body. Those who run the party as it is today are the presidential candidate and the chairman. “They will sit down and take decisions. The candidate is from the North, the chairman is from the North, who will represent the South in decision making. It is not about me. They are flying propaganda; will I be chairman of a party? No” The governor said it was erroneous to think that he was bent on destroying the party when he was actually advocating for justice and equity. “Some of you don’t know what’s happening in the country. You’re being deceived, they’ll tell you this Wike is causing problem. Wike is not causing problem. Wike is bringing peace to this country. Wike is advocating for justice, Wike is advocating for equity, Wike is advocating for development.” Wike further traced the arrogance of the party’s presidential candidate and the national chairman to a deal they struck with somebody at the Presidency. He said the presidential force was working for Atiku’s victory in 2023 and promised to disclose the identity of the person at the appropriate time. He recalled that the same presidential force promised someone the presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) but failed to actualise it. The governor insisted that the deal was the main reason why Atiku and Ayu had failed to honour their promises of restructuring the party ahead of the election. MEANWHILE, the PDP in Oyo State, yesterday, expressed happiness over the emergence of Makinde as the chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum. Speaking with The Guardian in Ibadan, the state’s Publicity Secretary of the party, Akeem Olatunji, said the development was a good omen for the party. Olatunji added that it showed that the PDP is a serious party, which is poised to coast home to victory next year. While saying the governor will bring his experience to bear on the new role, the publicity secretary added that the appointment is a round peg in a round hole. A PDP chieftain in Rivers State, Ogbonna Nwuke, has said the resignation of Jibril as BoT chairman, as well as the stepping aside of Tambuwal as chairman of PDP Governors’ Forum, was not enough to appease Wike and his team. Reacting to the outcome of the NEC meeting in Abuja, the former member of the House of Representatives said BoT was only an advisory body, which has no much effect. He said: “The situation is very clear, you cannot have a presidential candidate from a particular zone and the national chairman from that same zone. That does not answer the equation question inherent in the PDP Constitution. We must do the needful if we want peace as we get closer to the kick-off of campaigns.” The former APC spokesman in the state, who recently defected to PDP commended Jibril for always being on the path of truth. “Wahid Jibril is a gentleman. From the beginning, he was always on the path of truth. But that is not enough to balance the imbalanced equation as we see it in the PDP today. The national chairman of the party has to resign. That demand is very key to us,” he said. AN APC chieftain from Rivers, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has urged Wike to moderate his boastfulness. He reminded the governor that his inability to maintain PDP in the state is enough warning that he was not all-powerful, stressing that the governor’s threat to crush Rivers APC is, therefore, empty. Wike had, while commissioning one of his projects, the Ogbunuabali Sand-filled area in Port Harcourt, declared that he and his team have a huge task of bringing down the structure of APC in Rivers. But reacting to the threat, in a statement, Eze, who was the spokesperson of defunct nPDP, disclosed the governor’s serial failed attempts in the past, noting that he will continue to fail in such an unfortunate and ridiculous mandate. “It is laughable to see the governor deploy very flamboyant claims as a gimmick to sway presidential candidates and political lobbyists to continue to see him afloat the waters of political relevance ahead of 2023 elections. https://guardian.ng/news/pdp-ayu-survives-as-nec-passes-confidence-vote-wike-defiant/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4osCDKd0IY In a trending video seen by SaharaReporters, the governor was heard bragging he could handle a gun, despite not being an official of a security agency. The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has said he is ready to deal with anyone saying bad things about his administration in the state. In a trending video seen by SaharaReporters, the governor was heard bragging he could handle a gun, despite not being an official of a security agency. “If I hear any rumour or hear anybody murmuring, even if it’s in the person’s room and I said I want to see the person and you cannot provide him, then be prepared to be the person’s substitute,” Bello who contested the ruling All Progressives Congress presidential primary was heard saying. “That’s why I’m saying it loud and clear for everyone to hear. Not just Ihima, not just about Ebira but the whole of Kogi. Because some of those people who are prepared to do evil, may be some of them are older than me. “You cannot hold gun more than me. For that, everyone should receive and disseminate the message. Record and play it for them that I’m ready this time around.” In December 2019, thugs said to be loyal to Bello and the ruling APC burnt opposition Peoples Democratic Party’s women leader, Salome Abuh, to death over some scuffle during the governorship election. In April 2021, violent youths working for the Kogi governor descended on two middle-aged protesters who were pasting Buhari-Must-Go posters in Lokoja. The APC youths flogged the two protesters, filmed them and brutalised them before they were later handed over to policemen attached to the Kogi State Government House. Few days after, the state government in a statement supported the mobbing of the youths, saying they were from Benue State. “The Kogi State Government wishes to commend the gallant and ever vigilant youths of the state for rising to the occasion to crush the ungodly campaign by some imported and sponsored youths who came to the State to campaign against President Muhammadu Buhari. “The sponsored youths congregated at Benue State from where they moved to Kogi State and began to paint walls as well as display anti-Buhari posters that were printed in a South-South state,” the state Commissioner for Information and Communication, Kingsley Fanwo had said. During the APC presidential primary in April, 2022, some of Bello’s supporters were arrested by the police after guns and ammunition were found on them. Some of them were arrested in vehicles branded with the logo of the Kogi governor. https://saharareporters.com/articles/nobody-here-can-handle-gun-better-me-ill-deal-anyone-murmuring-about-my-administration Yahaya Bello’s Inciting Video Is an Act Of Terrorism - PDP The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says it is alarmed by the disturbing video of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State allegedly inciting his supporters, threatening to burn and unleash maximum violence on Nigerians during the 2023 general elections. In the video, Governor Bello was reportedly heard issuing terrorism threats in which he said, “I will personally light a fierce fire in my hand whoever want it we shall use it to burn them, whoever survive it will thank God… Whoever is against us we will make him or her join my mother and lie with her (my mother) in grave.” The PDP said this brazen threat by Governor Yahaya Bello raises apprehensions in the public space of the existence of a killer squad established to inflict violence on Nigerians ahead of the 2023 general elections just because they have rejected the corrupt, divisive and rudderless All Progressives Congress (APC), which failure is most manifest by Yahaya Bello’s abysmal performance in Kogi State. In establishing its claims, PDP spokesman, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, explained that by FBI definition, terrorism is the “unlawful use of force or violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives”, hence, the reason Gov Bello’s statement can be classified as an act of terror. “From his outburst, Nigerians now know the individuals who engineered the gruesome killing of many of our citizens including the PDP Woman Leader in Kogi State, Mrs. Salome Abu, who was burnt alive in her house in 2019. “Also, Nigerians now have more insight into the disappearance of Hon. Adelabu Musa, the PDP Chairman in Okene Local Government Area for over three years now. “Furthermore, the PDP recalls how the Bello-led Kogi State Government was accused of breeding and arming thugs as well as fake security operatives to harass and attack Nigerians in Kogi State during the 2019 general elections. “This threat to violence and actual violence to Nigerians especially at this time have the capacity to cause a breach of public peace, truncate the 2023 electoral process and derail our democracy,” the PDP spokesman stated. The PDP therefore called on President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately call Governor Yahaya Bello to order and place him and his supporters on security watch list as threat to democracy ahead of the 2023 general elections. The opposition party also charged the Inspector General of Police to immediately commence a comprehensive investigation into the activities of Governor Bello with a view to nipping the ugly trend in the bud as well as prosecuting him at the end of his tenure as Governor of Kogi State. PDP urged Nigerians, especially those in Kogi State not to be deterred by Yahaya Bello whose days in office are numbered but remain vigilant and continue to rally with the PDP in the determination to liberate the nation from the stranglehold of the APC and the likes of Yahaya Bello, come 2023. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.channelstv.com/2022/09/07/yahaya-bellos-inciting-video-is-an-act-of-terrorism-says-pdp/amp/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dm2LIGsHsF4 Spokesperson for the Atiku Abubakar Campaign Organisation, Dino Melaye, and a former minister of aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, have engaged in a war of words over the crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The ex-minister had in a post on his social media handle asked the Federal Government and security agencies to take Melaye up on the statement credited to him on the emergence of Iyorchia Ayu as PDP national chairman. Melaye had in a chat with journalists recently said all the PDP governors spent money at the party’s national convention held in December last year to ensure the emergence of the former Senate president as national chairman. Fani-Kayode also demanded the disqualification of PDP presidential candidate from the 2023 race. Reacting, Melaye in a tweet said Fani-Kayode’s comment lacked comprehension. “My attention has just been called to a statement issued by Femi Fani-Kayode, which as usual, was an incoherent gibberish produced from his temporary relief from insanity.” “How can one explain his momentary consciousness to react to an interview long granted, if not that his world of reality is not in sync with the world of sound minds. “Truly, an idle hand and heart like that of FFK is the devil’s residence. Ordinarily, his rambling would have been ignored, but in this age of unrestricted access to the media even by unwholesome minds, care must be taken to put issues in the right context and perspective,” the post read in part. Responding via his Instagram handle, Fani-Kayode wrote: “What can one say about a par*site of a man that licked the arse of Nasir El Rufai for years, then moved to Bukola Saraki’s, then moved to Yahaya Bello’s, then moved to Nysesom Wike’s and then finally moved to Atiku’s and licked far more than just ar*e.” Fani-Kayode and Melaye have both switched membership of the two main parties in their political careers. Currently, Fani-Kayode is of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while Melaye is a PDP member. https://dailytrust.com/dino-melaye-fani-kayode-fight-dirty-over-pdp-crisis cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uymu5yDKkEo Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi and his supporters have been threatened as some yet-to-be-identified gunmen attacked members of the party, who were holding a meeting in Awgu Community of Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State during the weekend. Vanguard gathered that the gunmen, numbering about four, unleashed attack on unsuspecting party faithful at the venue of the meeting, shooting sporadically to disperse the party members. The incident occurred at about 5:30 p.m on Sunday. Reacting to the incident, the chairman of the party in the council area, Ikechukwu Igwebuike, told newsmen that no life was lost in the attack, but he confirmed that some members sustained injuries from the attack. He said, “They just stormed the venue on three motorcycles and started firing.” Igwebuike informed that the gunmen shot in the air, attacked party members with their rifles, before disrupting the meeting. He further stated, “We believe strongly that this is the handiwork of the opposition party,” he said, without mentioning the party. “The windshield of one of our members’ vehicle was shattered.” Earlier, in a similar occurrence, some members of the party were also attacked by gunmen in Nenwe, a community in Aninri Local Government Area of the state last Wednesday. Also numbering about four, the unidentified stormed the venue on two motorcycles. The Chairperson of Labour Party in the Local Government in the council area, Benjamin Ajah, confirmed the attack, saying the incident happened at about 2 p.m. According to Ajah, the meeting was earlier billed to hold at the community secretariat, but was moved to a civic centre in the community. The change of venue, according to him, comes after the administrator of the secretariat, Israel Anih, asked the party members to vacate the complex. Ajah said, “Mr Anih said we should not hold the meeting at the secretariat.” According to reports, the administrator of the secretariat, Mr Anih, is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Ajah further narrated, “We just finished arranging the hall and just about saying our opening prayer for the meeting, then the armed men came and pursued us. “They started shooting and we ran,” he said. Ajah informed that no life was lost to the incident, adding that the incident has been reported to the police. The police in the state have yet to make an official statement on the incident. In the wake of palpable fears, there are insinuations the attacks might have been allegedly influenced by some members of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state. The PDP members in the state are perceived to be “disturbed” by the increasing popularity and growing support for the Labour Party LP in the state. Recall that Enugu is a PDP-led state and the party has a record of winning elections in the state over the years. Lately, supporters of Obi have been holding million matches across the country to rally support ahead of 2023. Members of the Labour Party under the auspices of the coalition for Peter Obi presidency have held a various ‘million-man-match’ walk for Obi and his running mate, Datti Ahmed in Ogun, Lagos, Kaduna, Rivers, Benue and still ongoing. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2022/09/how-gunmen-threatened-peter-obi-supporters-in-enugu-video/amp/ cc: lalasticlala, mynd44, mukina2, seun
