Reality TV star, Mercy Eke, has said that she has nothing other than a business transaction with businessman, Ikechukwu Ogbonna popularly known as IVD who has been accused of battering his wife, Bimbo, to d€ath.

In a post shared on her IG page, Mercy stated that she only visited the auto shop run by IVD to purchase her Range Rover that she gifted herself on her 27th birthday in 2020. She also shared videos she made where she returned the car after she found out the car was an accident one that was refurbished and sold to her for N36 million.

She also shared a video where she was complaining about the faulty key of the Range Rover.

A distraught Mercy went on her IG live to also lay curses on anyone alleging that she had an amorous relationship with IVD.

Alleged domestic violence: Popular Lagos businessman, IVD’s wife, Bimbo is dead

Bimbo, the wife of popular car dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna, better known as IVD, has died. Her sister confirmed her passing on social media some hours ago.

Bimbo was rushed to the hospital sometime this week after suffering severe burns during a violent incident at their residence in Megamound estate, Lekki, Lagos. Sources claimed Bimbo confronted her husband IVD on Wednesday, October 12, 2022, over the constant beatings she received, and a fight ensued.

The fight resulted in their house being set ablaze. IVD was said to have escaped with minor burns while Bimbo suffered severe burns and was rushed to the intensive care unit. Sadly. she lost the battle to live.

Announcing Bimbo's passing on social media, her sister wrote:

Her demise comes after many years of physical abuse she suffered from her husband and the father of her five children.

In May 2019, Bimbo regained consciousness after she was allegedly beaten to a coma by her husband during pregnancy. She was 8 months pregnant at the time.

Then, on October 4, 2020, IVD released a video of him reconciling with his wife days after she released an exposé explaining how she allegedly suffered domestic violence from him for 19 years.

Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressive Congress political party (APC), has shown he is still as fit as a fiddle in a video of a workout session in the gym ahead of 2023 general elections.

In the one-minute visuals, which has gone viral on social media, the 70-year-old politician can be seen clad in his white and black sportswear while using the gym apparatus to perform sets of rigorous fitness exercises.
Oshiomhole also appears to have mastered the different exercises as he can be seen doing them without supervision more often.

Some of you read but you don't understand. The court has discharged Nnamdi Kanu, but his lawyer made it clear that the federal government can still appeal the case.

Unless you see Nnamdi Kanu in his house, nobody should celebrate yet. This is not the first time he was discharged and the DSS refused to release him.

Attorney General Abubakar Malami has said he will not release Nnamdi Kanu despite the ruling of the Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal that freed the Biafra separatist leader of terrorism and other charges instituted against him by the Nigerian government.

A three-judge panel of the appellate court ruled on Thursday afternoon that Mr Kanu was illegally extracted from Kenya by Nigerian agents in a process known internationally as extraordinary rendition but which rights experts define as an abduction. The judges said the Nigerian government could not charge Mr Kanu for any offence in Nigeria until federal authorities are able to explain how they moved him from Nairobi to Abuja in June 2022.

The judges described the government’s action as not only illegal but reckless and dangerous to national security, adding that the extradition process exists for the clear purpose of preserving human rights and maintaining international peace. 
But Mr Malami, in a statement shortly after the ruling, said he would continue to hold Mr Kanu in custody with the aim of pursuing other charges against him.
The attorney-general falsely claimed that today’s Appeal Court ruling was only about the illegality of Mr Kanu’s forced removal from Kenya and transfer to Nigeria. But the judges specifically said no charges could be filed against Mr Kanu on any other matter unless the question of how he was brought back to Nigeria had first been resolved, and, from all evidence tendered before the court, it was a case of abduction sanctioned by President Muhammadu Buhari. 

“For the avoidance of doubt and by the verdict of the Court, Kanu was only discharged and not acquitted,” Mr Malami claimed in a statement circulated on his behalf by his media aide Umar Gwandu. “Consequently, the appropriate legal options before the authorities will be exploited and communicated accordingly to the public.”

“The decision handed down by the court of appeal was on a single issue that borders on rendition,” he added. “Let it be made clear to the general public that other issues that predate rendition on the basis of which Kanu jumped bail remain valid issues for judicial determination.”
“The Federal Government will consider all available options open to us on the judgment on rendition while pursuing determination of pre-rendition issues,” the attorney-general said. 
Mr Kanu’s supporters have begun nationwide celebrations after news of his discharge and acquittal by the Court of Appeal spread through the country. 
Rights groups, including Amnesty International, have similarly welcomed the ruling as a plus for democracy.

Ugandan paratroopers miss target and crash lands on spectators during the country’s 60th Independence Day celebration

The Airforce of Uganda were displaying their military power and the recent innovation they introduced to their Airforce which is parachute.

The Paratroopers made a miss calculation and were unable to control the parachute well which resulted in them crashing on innocent spectators.

An embarassing moment was recorded at the 60th Independence Day celebration in Uganda.
 
Videos shared online after the celebration at Kololo Independence Grounds on October 9, showed the Ugandan paratroopers missed their targets and fell on spectators at the stadium.
 
Multirole fighter jets, paratroopers and commandos were part of the drills on display as Uganda showed off its military might. It however snowballed into a full-blown embarrassment for President Museveni.
 
Military choppers dropped paratroopers at intervals, who had to land on the stadium’s pitch.
 
One serviceman was descending with a parachute, and he looked perfectly poised to land on the pitch. All of a sudden, the parachute folded slightly and yanked the soldier, disturbing his hold on it.
 
He lost control of the speeding glider, and it plunged into the drum majorettes who were matching on the track.
 
A second soldier who was in mid-air also lost control of his parachute, and it flew directly onto the mobile toilets in the stadium.
 
Two more hapless paratroopers failed to master their glides, and they mowed into the spectators on the terraces.

A video making the rounds on social media has shown the moment an unidentified Nigerian soldier was being stripped of bullets which he plans to allegedly supply to bandits.

In the video shared online by Goldmyne TV, the soldiers who are attached to the operation Hadin Kai 156 Task Force Dake Battalion Mainok are seen stripping bullets which were hidden on the body of one of their colleague.

They accused the soldier of planning to supply the ammunition to Boko Haram who may later turn around and use it to attack them.

An early morning fire has engulfed the Kogi State House of Assembly complex located at Crusher Area, Lokoja.

The fire ripped through the roof of the Chamber, causing extensive damage to the floor of the house.

The Speaker of the house, Mathew Kolawole, and the state security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, were among the early callers at the assembly complex.

As at the time of filing this report,no one has been able to ascertain the source of the fire.

The Speaker of the Assembly said that he suspects sabotage but fell short of where the suspected sabotage might be from.

Asked whether it might have been linked with the recent happening between the Assembly and Dangote group, he said that that is left to the security to determine.

“We should leave security people to do their work and give us a report going forward,” the speaker said.

However,a source who do not want his name in print said he suspected explosion but couldn’t say who might be responsible.

FCT police command begins investigation into viral video of a lady claiming one of its police officers attempted to r@pe her

The FCT police command says it has begun an investigation into the allegation made by a lady, Miss Ugwoegbu Ugomwa, claiming one of its officers, DSP Jude Ifeanyi, attached to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) of the FCT Police Command, attempted to rape her in their office.

In the video, Miss Ugomwa,  claimed Jude lured her to his office and asked her to follow him so he can ease himself. She said when they got there, he attempted to r@pe her. She alleged that while defending herself, he pushed her from the staircase and she injured herself. She also alleged that he tried to k!ll her.

In a statement released, the FCT police command spokesperson, DSP Josephine Adeh, said facts surrounding the situation have not been fully gathered as of now.

''However, ongoing investigation suggests that both parties are most likely in some sort of erotic relationship. and had gone out to drink and were highly spirited that evening.

The alleged Officer had promised to drop miss Ugwoegbu off when he branched into the office to ease himself as the video insinuated. An argument ensued between both parties on the stairways resulting in physical struggles hence the rash pronouncements that were regrettably too late to be retracted." Tge statement read in part

Adeh stated that while an internal investigation for necessary disciplinary actions has been instituted against the erring Officer, it is important to state that earlier that same day, miss Ugomwa had been to the Command’s SCID where she had earlier reported a case of Blackmail, Threat, Defamation of character and sexual Harassment and sundry offenses against another person and had lauded the investigation approach of the Officers. Adeh stated that it is however disappointing to have seen the command dragged into their undefined private episode.

The FCT police spokesperson mentioned that due diligence will be carried out without any restraint in ensuring that justice is served in both instances.

Some youths have accused personnel of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission of extortion.
The youths organised a protest against the EFCC on Thursday in Ibadan, Oyo State. The protest comes days after some youths held a similar protest in Warri, Delta State.
The PUNCH gathered that the youths, who took the protest to the Oyo State Government Secretariat, Agodi, Ibadan, expressed displeasure with the conduct of the anti-graft agency, as they alleged assault on innocent youths.

The protesters were seen holding banners, some of which read, “Enough of the extortion from EFCC,” and “End EFCC,” among others.
The youths, who also caused traffic around Bodija area of Ibadan, accused the EFCC of carrying out illegal house searches and arrests in their operations. They sought the review and reform of the agency’s activities.
The ‘END EFCC’ is coming in a few days to the memorial of the October 20, 2020 #EndSARS protest, when shootings took place at Lekki Tollgate by the Nigerian military.

Portable is having serious problems with some promoters who organised show in the United States for Portable to perform.

According to the promoters, Portable was not able to come to the show because he was denied visa 5 times for insulting the American consular and inability to speak English. The promoter said Portable was speaking Yoruba at the embassy which resulted in the visa denial.

However, Portable has replied to those who said he can't speak English in the video above.

Some Nigerians on Twitter have tackled the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for releasing a video showing as he was riding a stationary bicycle to prove that he is alive and in good health.

SaharaReporters reported on Sunday that the ailing former Lagos governor on social media posted a video showing him exercising on a stationary bicycle, saying, “Many have said I have died; others claim I have withdrawn from the presidential campaign. Well... Nope.

“This is the reality: I am strong, I am healthy and I am ready to serve Nigerians from Day One.”


Reacting to the circulating video, some citizens questioned Tinubu’s purpose of jetting out to London if he is fit and strong as he claimed.


Tinubu was absent at an event held last Thursday in Abuja for presidential candidates to sign a peace pact. He was represented at the event by his running mate, Kashim Shettima.

 “Why did he travel in the first instance if he’s strong and healthy? Creating a nightmare for his party,” a Twitter user, Akinnawo Olayinka asked.

Another user, Chudé said it will be better for Tinubu to address the nation about his plans for his presidential ambition, instead of playing politics with his health.

He said, “Wait o, is it not more sensible to have just did a live video and address Nigeria on the reasons why you've been away for some time now? Tell why you were not available for the peace accord signing. Even if you tell us you took time to reflect on everything. At least!”

Meanwhile, in 2021 alone, Tinubu spent over 80 days patronising hospitals in France, the United States and the UK where he underwent surgeries amid the poorly equipped hospitals in Nigeria led by the APC government.

He was flown out of the country some days before Christmas in 2020 to Paris, France.

There were speculations that he tested positive for COVID-19 but his media aide later denied such reports.

The APC leader returned to Nigeria on January 24, 2021, after an absence of about one month from Nigeria.

He then went for a medical check-up on Thursday, June 10, 2021, to France and was conspicuously absent from the one-day working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos State.

"Tinubu is in Paris, France for a medical checkup. His health is deteriorating due to old age," a top source had told SaharaReporters.

Tinubu, amid death rumours, was forced to return to the country on Tuesday, June 15, 2021.

Nigerian socialite des while undergoing liposuction surgery in India

A 28-year-old Nigerian businesswoman and socialite, Amelia Pounds, has died in New Delhi, India following complications during liposuction surgery.

It was gathered that she passed away on Friday morning, October 7, 2022.

Although, it’s unclear what led to the complications, she was said to have given up the ghost while being operated on at the hospital.

In a video filmed shortly after she passed, the doctor was heard apologizing to her.

Tinubu Speaks After Returning From UK

Osheokwu Onochie, a senior special assistant to Delta state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on youth development, has resigned from his position to support the presidential candidate of the Labour party (LP) for the 2023 general election, Peter Obi.
Onochie tendered his resignation letter to Governor Okowa, who is the vice-presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), on Thursday, October 6, through the secretary to the state government.
Onochie, in his letter of resignation disclosed that his decision to resign was premised on moral grounds, and the call by Nigerian youths for a new and better Nigeria, adding that the resignation was with immediate effect.
The letter reads: “I wish to officially inform Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of my resignation as senior special assistant on youth development with immediate effect.
“My decision to resign is premised on the call of every youths for a new Nigeria in 2023.

There was jubilation in the camp of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Thursday when he returned to the country.
While he was aware, reports were suggesting that Tinubu was ill and could be receiving medical attention in London.
The situation forced the candidate and his handlers to release a series of photographs and videos to dispel the rumour of his ill health.
Elated party chiefs and loyalists were at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja on Thursday to receive Tinubu.

They were led by his running mate, Senator Kashim Shettima; and a former APC national chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, among others.

The PUNCH learnt that Tinubu will immediately engage in a series of political consultations.
The former Lagos State governor is expected to host members of his Presidential Campaign Council, Progressive Governors Forum and the National Working Committee of the APC in separate meetings to discuss the contentious campaign list.
A former Minister of Communications and Director General of the Asiwaju Tinubu-Shettima Coalition for Good Governance, Adebayo Shittu, told The PUNCH that the wild jubilation that greeted Tinubu’s arrival was enough to make some people cover their faces in shame.
“They probably thought he won’t return to the country. I told you earlier he is coming today, didn’t I?
“Let us even assume he went for medical treatment abroad, should that be an issue? His fitness video and the eventual return have put an end to all their speculations,” he said.
