Before the discovery of oil and when the country was in zones, each zone developed at their own pace with their peculiar products. The north was known for their groundnut pyramids, the west by their cocoa production and the east had a lot of palm produce. The discovery of oil however, evaporated these agricultural efforts and consequently propelled people to go for white collar jobs. This is the beginning of Nigeria's woes. I think every zone can still survive 'without' the oil. Necessity is the mother of invention, whenever the oil is no longer forthcoming, everybody will go back to the drawing board. But until then, no zone can ignore the black gold. I rest my case! |

Bleep fashion! wear simple t-shirt, jeans, sandals and have yourself a heavy wallet and every girl will think you the most fashionable . |
Its Liverpool's, no need for bets |
Yea, the dull white and black colour of the network news, the scratchy sound that overshadows the news report. Can't wait for 9pm; time for bed. |
@poster, is the gate supposed to mean 'the good, the bad and the ugly'? You can start by posting something happening in the school. |
you seem to be telling us rather than asking us. what are your parameters? |
Yes the informations are on www.unijos.edu.ng/admissions Returning students commence registration on Monday, 2nd June 2008 and late registration also attracts N5,000.00. |
My mistake! Thanks for the correctiion. |
Hey people, I wish to let Nairalanders know that the 2nd Group of Batch A National Youth Service corps is out. It has been pasted in concerned schools. The orientation exercise starts on 17th April to 12th may 2008. |
Rebellious, you've said it all. This is simply outrageous and uncivilised. Damn! Are we in 18th century? |
Terry its like nobody has heard about your 'school' in this whole forum. I was wondering why the thing is so dry. Anyway, I don't say what I don't know. I come from Anambra state and I know the SCHOOLS there. Believe me, your school is actually a last resort when it comes to choices. You talk about Unizik, ANSU, Madonna, Okopoly, even Nwafo Orizu before you considering your 'school' when all hope is lost. I'm not discouraging you though but you were shouting on top of you voice as if you are in Oxford. Talking about rotting at home, that was interesting. I was a student of NAU; i did my Diploma there and I know the bush your school is located along Enugu Onitsha express way. I guess you are reading me from Awka now. It may also interest you to know that I am a law student in the University of Jos, if you doubt you can check me out at mogboe@unijos.edu.ng or better still at www.unijos.edu.ng. That is if you will still have time, you may not get okada back to your village community secondary school. |
Well bros, why join Pirates that you are doubtful of. I mean it makes no sense since you may learn reality the hard way. I am not saying they are cultists or not, just that one doesn't play with such thing as cultism. It ruins your future, your career and your life generally. Why donut you join other social and religious organisations which will improve your life in school and after. I REST MY CASE. |

Terry, what's this post supposed to mean? An advertisement of some new secondary school in town? I thought you should have waited and prayed for accreditation of your courses of study before comming to shout on top of your voice about admission letter. I'm sure the 'school' is your last resort when all hope was lost |
Yes we are Nigerians, but the truth is that we can never 'Nigerianise' the English language. There is nothing like 'my names are', the right thing to say is 'my name is' wether you are referring to many names or just one. The reason for this argument is that those names belong to one and only one person. Guys please check out the Oxford Advanced learners Dictionary, 6th edition, page 778. Study the box at 'more about names and titles' . You may also want to Read the meaning of 'name' there, it says ', word or words, ' Wether the question is 'what is your name?' or 'what is your full name?', the answer is 'my name is'. |
The truth is, there's going to be a second list. However, for people that did not see their names on the first list, their chances of seeing it are really slim. The second list is always characterised with very few names; say 3 to 4 names to a faculty. These ones are serious insiders, if you know what i mean- don't ask me. |
@poster my friend wake up your ideas! You see a girl, a single girl, you love her, you haven't told her your intentions yet. And you are considering the fact that she is in a relationship. You can't loose what you never had. How can you be dying in love for the sake of a girl you already know she isn't interested in the present guy. If you don't make the move this night maybe I'll help you with it. |
