Same with me. My dads class mate in NMS is a rear admiral (RC) working in the naval headquarters Abuja. Dad is a colonel (DRC) working at AHQ, Abuja. Still my name didn't come out.

Am 26, but I already told my parents I won't try the Armed Forces after this year. I just want to shed the final tears and call the military dream career over.

First nda interview was 2009 61 RC (quota system was what I felt ruled me out this year, Chief of defence staff at the time Paul dike was from my local government)

Second nda interview was 2012 64 RC (board chairman who later went on to become the chief of naval staff was from my state) Dele ezeoba or maybe he was the board chairman for 65rc (can't really remember)

Third nda interview was 2013 65 RC ( I don't really remember the details of this year's interview)

It's not all states that requires too much connection to get this military job

Sometimes your connection may not even have your time. When money speaks, every other thing doesn't matter.

I know a major sons that got into nda 65rc and in that same state a Maj Gen son was on reserve list.

Connections sometimes are complicated

Dssc is even more complicated in terms of connection than SSC

Cos a lot feel there is enough cover from combat zones when you apply for DSSC.
.... My brother some state ehn..... Na heavy weight fight...... The main thing na dix shortlistment first..... Wen we reach board..... Medicals, running and intellectual ability will be added advantage for those who have connect and are fit..... No connect can pass medicals and running for anyone.... Except na presidency..... But I know every man must ready fight for these small slots whether with connect or not..... Finally na God and Grace b everything.... Na a whole medical doctor wer get connect die for NAF screening for batch A...... Prayer is key..... Connect is key..... Getting prepared and fit is key.... But God is everything..... Good luck course......

It doesn't really matter even if he claims his father is Buhari, just draw the positives from his post and arm urself for the unforseen, that is one of the traits of a very good Officer who will lead people into battle someday, never underestimate, underrate or trivialise any bit of information you get.
That's by the way sha, why not wait till this week elapse b4 you bash him? pls all this newcomers shud not come and spoil this thread hardworking men has built overtime. Speculations are allowed whether true or false with time the truth will manifest, Moreover anything to keep the thread lively while we await the list is welcomed any post that pepper you just ignore shikenan.

That is how somebody came here and was ranting that his father is a board member that the list will be out this week, today is thursday...some people have no shame, u keep calling God's name for favor while playing wit people emotions, if your father is a Major Gen, Brigadier Gen or colonel its none of our business, becoz u really dont know how the system works in dis country, A single house of Rep member has more chances of getting you to final list than the majority of the 1 and 2 star Gen, Politicians have more upper hand of getting you into the military or any government agency.
My father is this my Father is that....get your childish head outta here.

or maybe the reason for having many officers on board is because they would treat the entire 36 states and FCT in one batch as different from other times when they did it in two batches. just an assumption
army has always been one batch..... Never separated it..... At least to the best of my knowledge....

dis 3 per cops is it for final list after d interview dat would resume training
3 already commissioned officers to screen we d candidates..... That's the highest in recent times meaning the shortlistment may be more this year..... My pops has been on the board for 4 consecutive years from DSSC 19 in Ibadan.... And he always represented his Corp alone but this year one Lt col and two majors from his Corp.... Which makes him ineligible Cox he is higher than those ranks..... So adding one plus one means army may shortlist more people reason they asked for more officers to partake in the screening.... We all should remain prayerful and pray for grace and Favour.... Connection or not......... Prayers and God is everything

To rahull n sojee, very interesting point u made n am grateful for ur information... Once again kudos to eclipsehemmy for his vital information.I have heard u guys loud and clear... My point again at rahull n sojee. No armed forces recruitment has ever been done on a festive period in naija dats a fact, even NN & NAF hastily did theirs before festive period and not during because personnel will b retasked for other security challenges on the said period. u guys re not really looking at the key word recruitment...in recruitment exercises, personnels has to be on ground to coordinate. Mostly senior ranking officials n few NCO who maybe on festive break after a long while on duty or u think they are terminators...anyway just my tots... I stand to b corrected...
..... Good news..... Army jux postponed recruitment/screening from 4th to 18th January...... I am reading the signal right now.....screening to take place in 20bn Sati, each Corp where vacancies were advertised were ask to nominate 3 officers for the board..... 18 corps in total..... ...... ...... List would still come out soon.... Course mate let's continue to get prepared..... All d best to us all

@sojee, very nice comments u have said... But the key word here is recruitment and not Frontline...? Are the personnel to screen applicants in the Frontline? Or HR department or dept of military secretary dat handles recruitment are in the Frontline? Frontline stage or level is not the same as recruitment stage...And like you said festive break is a privilege in the armed forces and u want them to leave their family after the little privilege given to them to relax to come and screen us applicants... Even during cadet training, cadets are given festive breaks, the observe public holidays....so at sojee I don't understand what you mean by in the Frontline and in the military no breaks and anything can happen...care to enlighten me... because the Abuja office that handles recruitment will be on festive break. the MIS room and tech personnel will be on festive break, so what is it that will happen?
the last commissioned officers were in training 2016 December with their instructors..... U can ask the senior men here.... As long as you are on assigned duty..... Public holiday or not you must work.... Don't ever assume public holidays is for you when you are in the military.... The board members would enjoy about 2weeks pass after the selection board, which is far more preferable than two days break of 25 and 26........lets jux be patient..... MS is working hard to release the shortlistment tomorrow or Friday.... Let's just watch how things turn out.... You may be right, I may be right as well..... Things would fall in place finally course.... Kudos

So far you faced the board (Interview panel) you have been selected for cadet training.
The major challenge in military enlistment is the "medicals" if you scale through, you are as good as being a cadet officer.

Congratulations "Officer Cadet" of the Nigerian AirForce
they all faced the board...... Even before their medical results....they have not even ran...... NAF went different because of the candidate that died in batch A screening......
