There are many army officers that are very disciplined, strict with their values. They don't smoke, drink, womanise or indulge in any vices. I know an army Captain that is ready to even quit the job than for him to compromise his believe. Infact all his coursemates even know him same for soldiers under him. After he closes from work you will only find him in his room(praying), in Church or going for evangelism the man own is excess even to shake a lady is a difficult thing for him. At a time he even had misunderstanding with his commanding officer, Baba stood his ground o. Make una forget army is not what many people seem to portray it to be. There are many personnel of proven integrity in the army. It's a two way thing, surely there are some that "flex" as if there is no tomorrow, that doesn't take away the fact that there are others who are men with Spartan discipline.

For the person talking about not shooting combatant kids in the name of rules of engagement hasn't either read and properly digest the "Rules of engagement". As a soldier you don't kill women and children and attack worship places/schools. They are referring to noncombatants and not combatants, those kids kill like men, self preservation is the first instinct as a soldier. Even in real life the US and other soldiers of advanced militaries don't follow what is written in the book. When you hear gunshots for battle you go forget everything them teach you for training that one na fact. The first thing that will come to your mind is to return fire and save your life and that of your colleagues.
Ugo God bless you.... Sincerely God bless you

The problem is don't leave the page till you finish o because no continue, you go need start again. Reason I no like the generating application number before the complete registration. The moment you save and continue it wouldn't carry you back o, we all should take note and they didn't ask for BVN sef ......I only saw ikeja as centre in Lagos sef though I no go through as I kuku don see ikeja

Why does it feel like I submitted prematurely... the other applications we’d have had to fill like 4-7 pages before you see the submit button.. but this one is only one page... Please is it only one page after uploading of documents and saving.. that’s all?
Please I need a reply from somebody that has submitted for closure

There is nothing like "Likely" barracks in this army job as you can be sent anywhere the only thing is that the headquarters of diff corp are scattered all over the country and one might have a cause to visit or gravitate within that area especially when it comes to taking courses, seminars etc
There are Chaplains and Imams in the field, infact have seen a video of a Chaplain preaching in an environment that looks like an isolated desert in the north east with his AK-47 beside him it's a funny sight to behold but e get why same for Muslim imams they'll be leading prayers and their AK 47 will be by their side.
If they ain't in a volatile area they won't be needing it. Whether DSSC/SSC just zero your mind as circumstances beyond you can land you in the field. That's why you undergo a basic military course, you are first a soldier before your profession.
As for years to stay on rank or getting promoted shouldn't worry you just discharge your duties diligently and stay out of trouble, the rest is secondary because whether dssc/ssc or even RC the system may or may not Bleep you up, delay or one or two commas wrt promotion is part of the job.
this answers it all. Ugo I see you...good news loading

God saved so many of us here but we are hell bent on leaving earth so quickly by our own choices in life. It's good to join the armed forces and defend our dearly beloved country, but it's never the job of us all to do it. Some will serve in other fields aside the armed forces. I was among those in NDA for course 46 (PL 43). Fondly known as the prophet who keep giving details to how and what next was to be unveiled. I met Sikowitz (ON14) met other of guys here. actually I wasn't preparing for the army but Navy when army shortlisted me and I decided to use one stone to kill two birds but I was caught up and I lost both. God opened my eyes to the terror coming and this terror will engulf many and only reason I wasn't slaughtered was because I had forgotten my rifle and had to go back to pick it up and when I had returned all the troops where no more. I read how we make suggestions here and how best it is to fight bokoharam, buying kits and so on but sometimes I laugh. Do we think we are more sensible than those dying daily? haven't some bought gears from Amazon? Let's be realistic and know that it's not PS4 it's a life and death scenario. No second chance like we get in game's. Even in game's we still die despite the many life's and trials. Sometimes I feel fighting bokoharam in the navy and airforce is much better than in the army cos they are more kitted and welfare is top notch for their troops in north east. The ratio of death of Navy/air force to army can't be compared. Sikowitz your way no be army oh(this is your 3rd trial I guess), Ugo4u your way no be army oh. Captain Isa told us when we went for review in anger that we think he is happy doing this job again? He had grey hairs already and always ready to finish you if you enter is trap. Let's know the mind of God before forcing ourselves into what's not meant for us( I remember the woman who took my b.p asking me why I opted for SSC and if I have a better job opportunity outside I should accept it diligently. She told me that they prefer their RC guys to us SSC I couldn't ask why but I could smell something and I thanked her and left. Tho I almost cried leaving academy for no reason but I give God the glory. Another chance will be here soon let God have his way and guide us. Make lack of job no guide us oh (lolzzzzzzz) cheers guys. Victory is from God alone.
sorry to say o, with all due respect this is utterly rubbish, you don't tell people what to do, army is not your way ,bye which one is " sikowits it's not your way, ugo4u army is not your way" please delete that rubbish.... I know someone that tried joining the army five different times and was unsuccessful,he got it the sixth time and today he is the Corp commander of a whole Corp in Nigerian Army..... Which yeye prophet are you, do God speak this way. God is not a God of confusion please , whatever you saw is for you not for another person, please let's take caution . And that oga always coming with yeye analysis everyday please keep quiet e don do, una no dey let us read again , people just dey scroll and pass. Better info go just come and go..... Abeg make we take caution, nobody is really anonymous on social media, reduce your negative comments about the military you post online, no go use your hand do yourself, I have said this alot of times, make we all take caution abeg.

the thing is army recognize graduates from their school of nursing more. So after they graduate they will enroll for dssc and get commission not that they jump into commissioning o, they go through everything we do too , the thing is they have better connect since they school with the military plus they know the right buttons to press. Medical school ojo produces 90% of soldiers that are commissioned as officers in d medical Corp, just get admission there as a soldier, graduate, press button , then the civilians there get to know big men, get to interact, the school is in front of my house so I know they have alot of civilians there and they do everything the soldiers do too, so better understanding and easier route to commissioning unlike their counterparts in University or civilian school of nursing.... I hope we understand small

Promotion is automatic after 5 years for DSSC officer in d Army (Airforce is 4 years), 25/5= 5 ranks above lt; lt,cap, major, lt Cornel, brig gen.

So deres a possibility or tho, dere r usually some frustration along d line, one may stay in a particular rank more Dan d expected duration due to situations like vacancies, Politics etc
point of note, not every promotion is 5years for dssc .....major to Lt col is 7 years , the new HTACOS divides it in such a way on your 35th year in service you should be at most a major General

Lol all this long talk about these cadets ...lol they've started their military career...let's be on nairaland claliming right and wrong...

It's simple...you don't agree doesn't mean it's a tradition they will stop...
Besides I never said it was right I just told you to try and understand it..

Big big English and grammarians na him full here...
I'm still telling you for a fact that if you entered NDA as a regular, you'd be in that video...

But no...let's claim this high moral standard and continue to ride on this high horse....

It's bad for cadets to beat their juniors ..but most of you here were beating your juniors in secondary school but you know...since there's no record of it, high moral standards..

Until you wear the uniform, never ever abuse a man who has done what you are trying to do...cos you'd never understand..

The rest of you can continue your okoto mew mew discussions ....

Wasn't there a time when cadets wrre beaten to death during "welcome beating" the academy abolished it...did it stop?

Na una ooo...High standards fc..
been long i spoke here ...but lemme just drop this....all dox pipo claiming wrong and right dey lie....brother of Dem been enter academy Dem go do worse.... Those who knows know that plumming is compulsory....those boys are plumming...some of them don't even want to do it but out of compulsotion for Senior cadets in their location, they must do it....my younger brothers did it, anybody here will av done so aswell....make una dey complain wetin una no no....oga Tomi leave Dem to deir moralty....Dem go soon go afaka, deir mouth go only be yes sir yes sir to this children wer go be their prep wingers....noise makers everywhere....enter army and you go see saw.....Dem Neva no anything....
