Azure is a bit cheap. Set up Linux severs that auto shut down by a time. U can do all Ur stuffs in it.

If u have a fat pocket go for a 2019 Macbook Pro with 32GB RAM.

That is the specs of my laptop and there is no limitation so far. Although I have paid Azure subscriptions and have servers in the cloud to do stuffs.

Yes u need to be able to write a little program to be an effective data scientist.

The good thing is u can learn language like python as a newbie and concentrate on just what u need as a data scientist.
