TravelRe: Horrific Crash Involving Petrol Tanker On Lagos-Ibadan Road by edatika(m): 10:58am On Oct 31, 2007
i think we shd not always trade blames o the Government.

look at the luxury buses/other commercial vehicles that travel to Abuja for example

the accidents they rarely have on the inter state routes, happens when they enter Abuja

reason: too good roads (that is the roads are too smooth for them and hence overspeed)

these driver(s) are not strangers to this roads
they know the roads are bad
they dont have to overspeed
not for any reasonable reason, lol

i think we all shd turn the saerchlights inwards
and stop blamimg Govts
Governments will only approve the award of contracts
sow such are administered is left to the people carrying the files about

i happy for you o
at least you are an American citizen now

i feel for you
the kinda situation you have put yourself

it's good for you
you need to help a fellow human being
she's your wife, she needs all the love you can give

and you really need to go the extra mile in giving her the love she needs
and mind you, think less of smthg happening to you,
be mindful that nothing shd happen to her as well.

love her well, and i can assure you
God will bless you for that
maybe that's the whole essence of you union

all the best
and think less of it as a problem
dont get depressed either by weighing yourself down over it
it sint a problem, but a challeng

involving the press might help out a little,
at least reduce the customer strenght of such hospitals
then it might have a better impact

but "law court"!!!
o boy you need to be powerful to win such a case.

well maybe if you combine the two sha
court + enough "press noise"
even if they win (which is most probable in Nigeria)
some seeingly prospective patients will have a rethink
HealthRe: An Innocent Life Wasted By Negligence Of Eko Hospital by edatika(m): 1:31pm On Oct 25, 2007
sorry about all this
it's really sad, VERY sad, especially when it is avoidable
but there's really nothing one can do about it.
of u really think it's negligence, (and you in the Nigerian legal system, which i dont)
you can sue.
but mind you it can take years, if it ever ends.
and the memory will remain fresh and renewed often
and can be worse if you eventually loose (that's Nigeria)

i would rather say we all shd face the future and put the past behind us
especially for mumsie.

may God continue to give you guys the strenght to bear the loss.

PoliticsNigerian National Anthem! How Is The Proper Rendering? by edatika(op): 1:35pm On Oct 22, 2007
when i was much younger,
i can remember in school then
we were told that when rendering the National Anthem or Pledge
we are to be erect and be still where we are
that it's a sign of respect /patriotism to our country (that's what we we taught)

but this days i dont know how it is being taught now

My point is this;
on TV yesterday, when the National Assembly (or maybe it's House of Rep)
they were rendering the national Anthem to open the session (i guess)
they were all walking about, moving up and down, some sitting down etc and they were all rendering the Anthem
some were even receiving phone calls

is it that i'm outdated or what is going on,
i cant remember when i rendered the Anthem or Pledge, but
the thing is, the world will be seeing this,

IS THIS HOW IT IS BEING DONE NOWhuh?

PoliticsVAT To Be Increased To 15%? by edatika(op): 9:56am On Oct 10, 2007
The last time, amongst the parting gifts of the former President left for this present dispensation
was the increment of VAT from 5% to 10%. Every thing sky-rocketed.

It was later reversed, but unfortunately neither transport fare nor price of food stuff etc has come back down.

Now the Federal Govt is already telling us, they will increase same come 2009 January. Meanwhile inflation rate is going up already so by end of next year things will have gone up seriously.

And by 2009, God help us.

And, I would agree with you that it's quite a disrespectful thing to do. The cake (IMO) should rather bear the name of the celebrant (or, at least, the occasion being celebrated). Anyhow, the many things that some of "us" now practise - na only God go help us. smiley
thank you jare

can u use your father's name like that?
and say that em, u want to remember for father, (say he is not around at the time)

it is, in my opinion, disrespectful
and unfortunate

it is almost traditional now for Birthday cakes, wedding etc
to be cut, by spelling the name J-E-S-U-S

especially Christiand who claim to reverend the name
and who dare not play with "just" their Surnames
will dare to use JESUS to cut a cake

can u imagine ur surname being used for the same "silly" thinghuh

wha's ur candid opinion on thishuh
