Claudiusdeux:Sure, then she should have gone to the court if she wanted redress instead of exposing her son on social media. 2.The mother of the victim should take down the videos really...so that any investigation won't be affected by something called prejudice...which can, for example, affect the selection of a jury.
Quite agree. At least for her son's sake. 3.The crime has to be investigated thoroughly, and reforms need to be carried out in all schools in AKS immediately. Methinks it is also high time we abolished boarding schools really. They have outlived their usefuless
. Well, whether boarding school are relevant or not is a matter for debate. 4.For those wondering why such bad boys as the ones who molested the victim exist in a 'religious school' like Deeper life...many parents send their bad egg children to such schools so that they can get some 'morals' knocked into them...unfortunately it doesn't work (unless you want to run a regime like NMS, Zaria.....scary man)...and the kids end up poisoning other children.
. Wonder how you arrive at the conclusion that the child was molested just by watching the video posted by the accuser. Seem the prejudice you mention in your #2 is in full effect here 5.Also, it is something of a disgrace that AKS education commisioner is trying to cover up this case. It should be seen as an opportunity to prove her worth as an administrator. Recall how 20 years ago they were saying that Edo girls were prostitues, and instead of the then first lady of the state to lie and say that Edo girls were all pure as the white snow, she did something about it...and that something eventually led to action on the federal level IE NAPTIP.
. Again, calling the commissioner a disgrace after only hearing from the accuser again shows the prejudice you talked about in #2. Seems the video has taken it toll on you . Beside, the accuser said she stopped them from asking the her son 'sensitive' questions. I guess if you've ever had encounter with a person who expect you to just gulp in every word said without probing, you won't hesitate to show the way to the door. 6.Finally..in my opinion, this case is not going to be sorted. Yes, government inaction and incompetence...but the fact is, assuming you were one of the parents of the accused boys, and your son was proven to have violated the victim....well, the case will be tried in open court, meaning your family would be labelled as a family of bad people...which can have implications for things as marriage stuff....remember Nigeria is not an individualistic society.(and morals is still very important. One young lass I knew once turned down a suitor...because he listened to music she considered 'bad'. She's married now though..to someone who presumably does not listen to bad music)
. Again you alleged the boys are 'proven' to be guilty when all you've only seen is the video from the accuser. Here comes the prejudice you alluded to in #2 So the mother and father of the victim are going to be pressured...because the sister of one of the bullies is getting married, and if the groom's family finds out...or the brother of one of the bullies too is also getting married...and if the bride's family finds out that their future inlaws nurtured a brutal pedo....questions get asked.
. Yet again, you've already assumed the accused are guilty. You even went as far as calling the accused pedophile when in fact they are minors. Are you sure your bias isn't kicking in? Then there is the reputation of the church to consider. The sad thing about Nigerian churches...and I say this as a born again christian, not perfect myself....is that they are far more concerned about looking good than about justice and righteousness. If we as a church of God in Nigeria are ready to sacrifice justice, righteousness and truth on the altar of 'GOOD IMAGE'...then what next? I expected that the DEEPER LIFE school, should have conducted their own inhouse investigation, notified the police , and then punished the boys appropriately. Apart from their letter on 'We will investigate' ...there is silence.
. Pls, do you realise investigation takes time given that one need full cooperation of the accuser and the accused? Being silent doesn't imply that nothing is done. Given the way words are taken out of context nowadays, it is more prudent to do a thorough investigation and send the report than having to change your stance every now and then. No wonder christians are suffering in Nigeria...from all our 'enemies.\' We are not worshiping God...we are worshiping 'Good Image'.Good Image is a poor subsitute for God. We better stop worshiping her.
. Well you are not in position to judge if one worship God or Man. Let God be the judge. By the way, how does this in anyway relate to the issue at hand? Finally, it is a shame that here on this site, people are defending the bullies, while subtly accusing the mother and her victimised son of lying...without proof. Yes, people lie...but I doubt any mother would go on line to tell tales about how her son was raped...risking his reputation just to pull down a few people. To those people...this is not about you or your church..this is about justice.
. Hmmn, permit me to use your words against you... Finally, it is a shame that here on this site, people are supporting the accuser, while subtly indicting the accused for rape...without proof( the video isn't an evidence in the law court). And please never underestimate the length people can go even if it involve making sacrifice. Google is repleted with even more 'unlikely' stories. Indeed, if the Church of God in Nigeria does not stand for what is right...then what right do we have to criticise the government, to ask for help from God.? When we can't even do the right thing.....even if it means sacrificing good image? Well, we can always blame other bogeymen
. If the video from the accuser (which is still being investigated) is all you need to arrive at the conclusion that the church is not standing right then more to this unless you are be privy to some evidence we don't have. Beside, I don't see how criticising the church or not should stop one from criticizing the government. The two aren't mutually exclusive. And please the government isn't the boogyman here and every citizen (regardless of religious affiliation) has the right to criticize those who control the affairs of country. And less I forget, do your away with your caveat, anyone can claim to be a born again christian. I can see your end game through the veil. Edit: And pls, before anyone comes with the usual what if he is your child? be reminded that appeal to public sympathy won't hold in the law court. And the video doesn't stand a chance as evidence either. I may sound cold and unfeeling but so is the law court where logic reigns over emotion. So a wise man will rather keep his finger crossed until investigation has been thoroughly done. |

Ojiofor:So you expect the northerners to put secession clause in the 1999 constitution when 'no secession' turned out to favour them? Only fools will do that... Azikiwe fought fiercely against 'secession clause' while Ironsi and Ojukwu doubled down and even fought against the first secession from Nigeria with the myopic thought that Igbos will dominate the political scene of Nigeria which backfired and put the northerners in the position of power...now you don't expect the northerners to play a fair game in the 1998 constitution and include 'secession clause' when the table has turn against the Igbos. The Igbo leaders made a grave mistake by creating the loopholes which the northerners still exploit till today so much of the blame still goes to them. You don't get to blame your opponent for hitting below the belt when you did it first but missed...You should learn to take responsibility for your actions and the resulting domino effects. |
Stancrus:What about Kangal? Heard few were in Nigeria then... |
Juliusmalema:I rather you check the statistics before you begin this your habitual tribal slur. The analysis below should tell you something. In the list, 6 candidates are from Southwest, 5 from Southsouth and 2 from Southeast. 10 of them reside in the Southwest. They all chose Universities from Southwest as their first choice. Abeg jump on something else to gloat about and leave these young innocent champs out of your usual tribal banter. It is getting nauseating. |
African Hobby... This specie of falcon is scattered across Africa but Its close relative, the Taita Falcon is endemic to the southern part of Africa.

Xda59:Opossums are native to the Americas. only few species are found in Africa (around Congo) but none in West Africa. |

Please, the headline is a bit misleading... The Chinese aren't donating any ventilator , rather, the Chinese company is simply shipping the previous Us order that has been left unattended to because of high demand. The only incentive here is free shipping thanks to Jack Ma but the goods are paid for by the Us. This is just a case of profit oriented company doing business and not charity as the headline will like you to believe... Pls if you doubt the authenticity of my claim, a little google research wouldn't hurt. This is even an old news which has been debunked severally on Reddit. By the way, has anyone noticed the sudden rise of Anti America threads on this forum? Has anyone also noticed the connections between the monikers that post the threads? Please I advise these monikers to thread carefully with the way they desperately churn out any news that paint the Us in a negative light. This site is more popular than we know so let's be mindful of the contents we post because when it comes to propaganda we can't hold candle to the Us. Don't let this be the case of party politics gone wrong due to the overzealousness of some individuals. Trust me, the Us can sell Nigeria to the world as a terrorist country just like Afghanistan within a couple of months and many will swallow the cool aid and even support the Us without asking question. This is how powerful the Us propaganda can be. So let's not give the war mongering Us an excuse to evade us under the guise of liberating the citizens. And to be realistic, I don't see Nigeria emerging strong after a face off with the West. Libya hasn't recovered yet. So let's be guided and stop dabbling into dark politics we know little about . When it comes to world politics we have always maintain neutral stance regardless of the party in power and I hope we continue with that. Pls let's mind our business. People's lives over politics any day, anytime. Peace# |
fairfora:Bro, having read through your submissions, I noticed you keep making the same mistake which is confusing strong Immunity with being healthy... they aren't the same...a man who hasn't had his bath for years has a stronger immunity than an healthy man...between the two, the former has a higher chance of surviving a viral disease even in his unhealthy state because his body is used to frequent attacks by germs and has become immuned as result. But the healthy man whose body seldom get attacked because he lives in a germ-free condition will find it hard contending with virus as he is not accustomed to being attacked. Also, using life expectancy as basis for strong immunity is a flawed logic. Life expectancy is largely dependent on the environment in which a person lives. Of course it is no rocket science that a person living in an almost germ free environment is expected to live longer than one who has to battle with different kind of germs in his environment everyday. But that doesn't imply the later has lesser immunity, rather it is the opposite. To truly know who has a stronger immunity, put both of them in the same germ packed environment and see who lives longer...the answer is obvious. |
uniRankTM, in a bid to answer the question of “What are the most popular Universities in Africa and Nigeria?”, published the 2020 African University Ranking of the top 200 recognized higher-education institutions in Africa and of 160 Nigerian higher-education institutions in Nigeria respectively. The above statement doesn't have anything to do with the best...how does being popular equate being the best? This is more of a popularity contest than otherwise...please stop misleading people. |
Cletus77:.Nice Analysis...but this beg the question... Why stake the life of Iran high ranking officer for mere ranking? What does Iran stand to gain from this? Here comes a possible answer which we haven't really look into... The Ayatollahs see Soleiman becoming popular and over reaching...A man who may overthrow if given the chance...a threat to them...Hence, the need to cut him off... But how can he be gotten rid off without backlash from the populace? This is where Trump comes in... The U.S.A strikes him outside Iran, Trump takes credit for it and see his rating soar... The Ayatollahs succeed in putting in grave a would be usurper without raising suspicion... The ignorant populace chants 'death to America'... Iran send missiles to soft targets feigning retaliation... Iraq prime minister gets pay check for allowing his land to be used as a battle ground and acting as a meditator... A win-win for all parties involved and the world moves on. |
Ferdinandu:I see how you quickly jumped to defend the stance of the USA in this case of polygamy...no condemnation of their act rather a desperate attempt to justify... If the right of persons in polygamous marriage(consenting adults as you always say to make case for homosexuality) are infringe on in the USA and no one bat an eyelid then isn't it hypocritical to condemn African countries who do same to homosexuals? Imagine the table being turned and an African country tells the USA government to allow incest and polygamy or risk being sidelined? |
wirinet:I knew someone will toll this line when the issue of incest comes up and you didn't disappoint. Replace incest with homosexuality in those statements of yours and you will see how it also fit in. The case of incest destroying the basis of the society is also true for homosexuality as the end result for both is continuous decrease in the population of a society. |
IamAnderson:Yes the pitbull is said to have high endurance... but I think this assertion is subjective because most time its endurance level is tested mostly within its own breed and other average sized dogs...not the these large breeds. Take Boxing for instance, Floyd Mayweather is reknown for his high endurance level but that is within his weight class and he can't sustain the same endurance when pitted against heavyweight lords like Wilder, Fury, Joshua etc. How long can the pitbull withstand the brute of let's say Kanga which have the highest bite force for dogs? Mind you the average Kanga is twice the size of the pitbull with a good height to compliment it's sheer size, has thick double layer coat even around its neck region, possess large jaw and lethal paws where as the Pitbull is almost hairless making it susceptible to fatal injuries. The pitbull only saving grace is the Kanga ignoring it as if is non existence otherwise it will be in its own pool of blood within a few minutes. The Americans know this and has taken advantage of it to make the Pitbull look like the winner just to massage their ego. It is like declaring Mayweather the winner of a boxing match after being brutally battered by Fury just because he made it to the 12th round. I see the pitbull as that kid who bullies and command respect among his age grade but is seen as just a nuisance by older kids. The older kid beating the boy silly will be seen as normal but an upset from the boy by luck will spread faster than a wildfire... |

IamAnderson:I am tired of hearing the false assertion every damn time. I mean these are guard dogs bred to ward off bears, lions, leopards, hyenas, wolves etc and they are quite good at that... can the pitbull be trusted with this task? trust me the overhyped medium sized pitbull with bite force less than the Gsd will become a minced meat before one says Jack Robinson. |
Goldicon2:Abeg enough of this pitbull overhype...it is hightime we saw through this bulshit and stop gulping down everything dished by Americans. Americans love hyping their own to the heavens and this is one instance. There are dogs that will incapacitate trained pitbulls before you bat an eyelid...the Chinese/Japanese Kuta inu, Italian Cane corso, Pakistani Bully kuta, Turkish Kanga, Russian Volkasoby, pure breed South African Boerboel etc ...but they wouldn't tell you this because they are not of American origin. |
They are heartless to stop him...he's probably going to give a befitting burial to a loved one who reincarnated as a keg of petrol... I had the bet keg in the casket is a royal while the others lying beside it are the 'abobaku'... |
