Na Real Kraze Dey Worry Am |
Fellow Formites, At times i dont know whats wrong with Nigerian islamic religion as against other islamic dominated countries, especially in the middle east and asia. Take the issue of Pakistan and some other islamic countries which allows women to partake in politics, are they not using the same koran? why should Nigeria islamic issues always been extra ordinary. I think it is high time all these madness of discrimination against women be stopped for God's sake. Are women not human beings created by God? Religion should not be brought into government at any level because every Nigerian, whether male or female has the sole right to contest in any public or political positions in this country. |
Hi nairalanders, I've been hearing about different talks on this issue, but i want you to help me out as i'm interested in opening a domiciliary account with GTB. Hi there, Please can anyone in da house show me how to download a movie from youtube.com to my computer, i have some musicals i hope to download from youtube to my computer. Thanx. |
Fello Naijarians What is President Musa Yar’Adua up to? Just November last year he held a meeting with state governors and national assembly members on his administration’s official position on the purported issue of an America military base in Nigeria. Hear him “The US military will not be allowed to establish a base in Nigeria or anywhere in the West African sub-region.” The governor of Kwara State announced the decision after the council of state meeting also stressed that the leadership was also opposed to the establishment of the proposed United States African Command anywhere in West Africa, a sub-region which is unarguably Nigeria's sphere of influence Few weeks later, (December last year), the same president traveled to the United States and reversed the stands of his administration and Nigeria and the council of states and went on to tell President Bush that; "We shall partner with AFRICOM to assist not only Nigeria, but also the African continent to actualize its peace and security initiative, which is an initiative to help standby forces of brigade-size in each of the regional economic groupings within the African continent." However, as the full import of this new position began to be dissected by critical Nigeria public and political parties, a clarification came from the presidency that the president was misquoted during the Washington visit. In denying the media reports in an interview with the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA), Yar'Adua stressed that he never gave the approval for the establishment of Africa High Command (AFRICOM), in Nigeria. The president said he only asked Bush to help Africa to establish its own version of African High Command, and manage it by itself, without allowing Americans to site their base in Nigeria. The assistance, he maintained should be in form of weapons, gadgets, and training of the soldiers for the joint military command to be established in every sub-region on the continent. He said further: "I did not agree that AFRICOM should be based in Africa. What we discussed with Bush is that if they have something to do for Africa that has to do with peace and security, they should contribute.” “ I told him that we African countries have our own plan to establish a joint military command in every sub-region (as we) have in economic groupings.” "America should assist us, the African countries, with military weapons and training of our solders; they should assist us to establish these sub-regional military commands in every sub-region where African countries have economic co-operation.” "That, instead of them coming by themselves to Africa, they should assist us to form and manage our own military commands by ourselves, Since they already have the AFRICOM, it is only through it they should assist us in whatever way they can, especially in relation to peace.” "I asked him (Bush) that they should help those of us African countries in the oil-rich Gulf of Guinea…since we already have the plan to unite, to establish a joint military command to protect the territory. They should assist us to establish the military command and help us with weapons and gadgets to monitor the happenings in the area.” "Therefore, it is a kind of co-operation, not for them to come and establish the command. This was what I also said back in Nigeria. I hope it is understood.” "Those who reported the matter in the media or insinuating did not actually understand what we said. They did not even wait to understand the kernel of the discussion at the White House." Mr president, can’t Nigeria and the countries in this area form this joint military command themselves? Why call in America? Haven’t we done it before in ECOMOG? I was listening to Radio Nigeria four o’clock news when It was voiced on America’s interest in setting up a base in the Niger Delta area which is approximately around the gulf of Guinea area. The kind of “partnership” a US military base will offer in the Gulf of Guinea will not be different from the well-known American traditional do-gooding which eventually sparks off instability, religious hatred, ethnic violence, radical regimes, wars, revolutions and additional violence in the already volatile region and the country in general. Mr president, it will be suicidal for Nigeria to enter into that unholy wedlock masked in AFRICOM as the consequences of implementing AFRICOM in the Niger Delta and Gulf of Guinea would be disastrous for the nation. The reasons being that; First, America's Presence in Nigeria will make this peaceful country a target of global terrorism and this will spell doom for Nigeria especially when there are rumours of Al Qaeda recruitments into the militia groups. Secondly, when Al Qaeda is combined with the militant groups in the Niger Delta, it is tendentious to suggest that AFRICOM will further instigate interminable internal insurrection that is capable of destabilizing the Region. Already the Niger Delta is inundated with militia groups and the establishment of America military bases in Nigeria and in the Gulf of Guinea will facilitate the disintegration of the country. At least we all remember last year when America predicted that our country (Nigeria)will disintegrate in the next 15 years, this is their trick to make it happen, but the Almighty God no go allow am happen. Mr president don’t forget that these people will make matters worse for the inhabitants of the host communities by dropping heavy bombs on our territory in the name of training, which will eventually have a deadly catastrophic effect on the people living in those areas, e.g Kenya and other countries hosting these bases. Don’t forget that these bombs can cause cancer, hearing defects, blindness, rashes and other deadly diseases on our population. It will also be an opportunity for the Americans to test their latest bombs that can destroy our ecosystem and the entire host communities. By allowing foreign military bases on our lands, just think of all the possible crimes these unruly GIs will commit and get away with, e.g sexual harassment of our women and girls, even forcing our men into homosexuality as it happens daily on the countries harbouring these bases. Some of the risks associated with hosting US military installation include terrorist attacks, the destruction of national culture and more direct US control over the lives of their hosts. Then there are fears about the continent being drawn into the US war on terror Think of the secret CIA prisons and torture camps across Europe, Middle East, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, Zanzibar, Djibouti and South East Asia, Nigeria could potentially become one of these countries if we allow the US to build a military base on our territory However, the protection of the territorial integrity of a nation, safeguarding the safety of lives and property of her citizens, and the protection of her sovereignty are essential ingredients of our core national interest and not to put it in the hands of America. There is also the concern that Africom is really an attempt to protect US oil and mineral interests in Africa, amid growing competition for resources from Asian economies. By entering an agreement through AFRICOM project, we will be selling our birth rights to them and must be ready to play games with the US, even at our own peril, it has happened to nations that have once romanced in this direction with the them. Saddam Hussein the late tyrant in Iraq was propped up in power by the U.S. when they saw him as a man capable of checkmating Iraq by eliminating Iraqis who dare to oppose their evil activities and guaranteeing the free flow of oil. It was America who supplied Saddam Hussein with Anthrax and other poisonous biological weapons to liquidate the Kurdish rebels, the same US turned out to demonize him when he refused to do their bidding thereby ending his life in that process, The U.S. government values her economic interest in crude oil than the blood of the inhabitants of its host nations America the self acclaimed police of the world is enemy number one in the whole world and this venom of hatred is worst in the Arab world as a result of the problems they had created for them. The United States of America is a Country that is not interested in the development of any Country in Africa or elsewhere, all they want is to exploit countries and milk them dry to their own selfish advantage. Even a country like Britain who is the number one ally of the US cannot boast of any benefits from the US aggression of the world. In Ghana, the capitalists facilitated the ouster of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and initiated what turned out to be a protracted, corrupt military, In Somalia, Liberia, and Sierra-Leone, America propped up local capitalists' ,funded militia groups and later pretended to be peace keepers. For decades, those countries have known no peace, but America's armament industry witnessed a boom. America coming to Nigeria to establish a military base will be like dining with thw devil because it will be an opportunity for them to carry out their nefarous activities in our political life. The will also be the tendency for them to arm several ethnic, religious or militia groups to fight the authorities in power and cook-up false reports against them should they become a threat on their interests. The story is the same- from Panama to Iran, from the Philippines to Iraq, American corporate colonialism, which has been thoroughly laid bare by Perkins, has left a long trail of gunsmoke and blood. Algeria, has just recently turned down a request to host the headquarters for US Military operation in Africa So why is our government so eager to allow bases(s) in Nigeria when others are turning away from such installations? South Africa, Libya and other African countries had also opposed the Africom project in the continent. Others may say that the US military bases in Japan, South Korea and Germany helped these countries to develop. This is contrary to the truth, those countries have been paying hundred’s of billions to the US in the name of so called helping to protect those nations from perceived enemies. In the case of Nigeria we are capable of handling any insurrection from any outside forces, and no country in Africa can withstand Nigeria’s fire power, so we don’t need the US on our soil. Please let Nigerians and indeed the national assembly call President Musa Yar’Adua to order so that if he had entered into any military pact with the US or thinks of doing so , he should think about the future of this great country because years after he might have left office, the negative effects of his decisions will still hunt the country. We don’t want any one to drag this God blessed country in the mire. America can not claim to love Nigeria more than Nigerians themselves, they will be very happy if Nigeria splits and is even working towards seeing Nigeria break up, President Musa Yar’Adua should see the hand writing on the wall. We all listened to Nigeria’s former chief of army staff, General victor Malu on point blank, an NTA interactive programme when he told Nigerians and the world about America’s insistence in training our troops on peace keeping and how Nigeria has been beating the US in military training. His words “No nation can claim they have more interest than you your self. Most of the foreign officers who come here on the pretence to train us or do something or the other are people we have trained together. We attended courses together in their country and beat them. We attended courses with them in the UK and do better than them in those courses. So, how do they come back to start teaching us?” he queried “ Americans cannot claim that they want to train us for peace-keeping. We've succeeded in peace-keeping where Americans have not succeeded”, he said. Lastly, General Victor Malu, also said “America has never done anything for any country because they like the country. They look at what they will benefit out of it. The issue of African Command is nothing but because of the oil interest on the Gulf of Guinea, going out to the Coast of Liberia and so on. Americans are finding an easy place where they can extract oil, and you know is a much shorter route than going around to go to the Middle East. Africa has the capability of taking up such a command.” We have the capability to keep the peace in Africa, we have done it in Liberia, Sierra Leone and even Ivory coast, we are still doing it in other counties like Sudan and so on . America cannot claim to be able to keep the peace in Africa more than the Africans themselves by devastating countries with nuclear bombs. Nigeria should be on the look out. On February 1, this year, the new US ambassador to Nigeria Robin Sanders said "It is not in the United States (U.S.) agenda to site its pet defence project, African Command (AFRICOM), in Nigeria". She said that claims that America plans to locate the controversial military base in Nigeria were very far from the truth. make e be sooooh. In a statement titled: “The U.S. ambassador on AFRICOM: An open letter,” , Sanders insisted that there was not and had never been any desire by Washington to have a military base in Nigeria or to militarise Africa. We no need una-ooh My good Naija people abeg make una talk sense to this una President-oooooh, make de man no come sell us and our generations unborn to America-oooh. |
Hi nairalandaz, I'm trying to bid and buy a laptop computer from ebay. Can anyone tell me how to pay for and get the laptop down from the US to my door step here in Naija. |
Hi man, If i should ask, what is marrage? Simple, a union between a man and a woman in the presence of 2 or more people as witnesses. I am a christian by faith, but i want you to know this that there are different kinds of marriages which are traditional, court, marriage blessings etc. It is unfortunate that we in this part of the world tends to portray white or church marriage as the ultimate, no man. You can do your traditional marriage without doing any white wedding, but you cannot do just white or chuch wedding without first of all going to pay your wife's bride price/traditional wedding. You can call some christians or men of God to bless or pray for your marrige after you have been confirmed husband and wife by the parents and families of your wife including the witneses, you dont need witnesses inside the church, God himself is already a witness that you've respected and followed the rules of marriage. I think we should not be decieved by anyone who will tell you that it's mandatory to do white wedding, please note that there was nothing like white wedding during the time of our forefathers. It is an insult before God and man for anyone to ignore paying his wife's bride price/traditiional marriage in order to go into any other kinds of marriage. It is also necesary to go for court marriage before or after your traditional marriage. Lastly, the most important thing in marriage is for you to pay your wife's bride price to her parents and do the traditional marriage and then you will be free to take your wife home. White wedding is only an option if you will like to do it, its left to you but note that--WHITE WEDDING IS NOT MANDATORY, IT IS AN OPTION. |
