The difference is that You don't see those friends around you when your electronic gadget is taken away from you. Also, you are at a risk of meeting fake people. Don't take it wrongly, meeting friends online is very cool. I do that a lot too. The emphasis here is that you shouldn't let it affect your ability to make cool real friends in the 'Real world'. Don't be too rigid on people that approach you, be nice and friendly. Try this from today, and see how things will turn out in your life.

If you are guilty of a situation were your phone, laptop or tab is taken away from you, you become very lonely and isolated like you are in the world of your own you need to do the following and more:
1. Be open minded to people around you.
2. Smile when someone approaches you.
3. Stop chatting in a public place, look around and say hello to someone.
N/B: I'm not trying to act as one guru or something, you can do what works for you. It's not bad to make friends online, I am more concerned about how it affects your ability to make friends in the real world. CHEERS!
