After failing to win a single game out of
the three played in the qualifying series
for the Morocco 2015 Africa Cup of
Nations, and after coming under
intense scrutiny and criticism after his
team put up another limp display in
Khartoum, embattled Super Eagles
coach Stephen Keshi has once again
claimed that he has offers outside of
Nigeria and could leave the Super
Eagles job.
The 52-year old has always claimed to
have offers from outside Nigeria and
reiterated that claim as he said he
could leave the post as pressure
continues to mount on him.
“Keshi will leave Nigeria, I’m a
professional coach, and I will get a job
elsewhere. But this is my country and
this is a job I love to do and I want to
give everything I can give, but it’s not
a do or die affair, it’s something I have
to do and that’s it,” he claimed.
And with Nigerians still calling for his
head irrespective of the outcome of
Wednesday’s return leg Africa Cup of
Nations qualifier, the former Hawks of
Togo coach has also claimed that he’s
being sabotaged in order not to qualify
Nigeria for the next Africa Cup of
Nations competition.
“A lot of people are trying to sabotage
what we are doing. I mean these are
the same players I used to qualify to
the last Nations Cup and World Cup
and even won the Nations Cup with
almost 90 percent of the present team,
but what is going on today, some
people are ready to sell this nation for a
dime,” he added.
“They don’t care the consequences
that come with it, people just want to
make sure that this team doesn’t go
anywhere, they want to run it down.
They just want to sabotage the Super
Eagles and make a lot of Nigerians
unhappy and they think it’s Keshi.”
The former Eagles of Mali coach went
further to reiterate that some persons
are working against him, but refused to
mention any names.
“It’s a shame that it is so many of
them, but I don’t want to mention
names, but they know themselves.
They don’t want this team to go
anywhere; they want this team to lose
outright, not to even smell the Cup of
Nations. But they are not God, I shout
Jesus, they’re not God,” he concluded.

Pls can u tell me ur basis of success within the time frame keshi has worked? or u expect keshi to av won d world cup then u can say he is successfull.

I won't argue that winning the nations cup trophy was a great relief to Nigerian football, but here in Nigeria we love football so much that we always ask for more.

To answer your question, these are the things I'd call success within the past 2years.
1. Qualifying to the semi-final of confederation's cup. Yes! We should've defeated Uruguay if we went to that tournaments with a good 23 players not just good 11players.

2. Integration of Nigerian players across the world in friendly games and giving everybody equal opportunity to fight for his shirt.

3. Increased Fifa ranking! Doesn't it baffle you that even the fact that we are African champions we find ourselves down the perking order?? It's simply because we've failed to win so many games under keshi! Too many draws.

4. Attacking fast flowing football! Yes! That's the trademark of Nigerian teams, that's why we are often the neutral's team. Unfortunately, under keshi this hasn't been the case. We've played boring and stiff football. Football is about scoring goals, if you don't create chances you don't score! We do appear clueless in matches with so many sideways passes between our defenders.

5. Selection of players based on current form as long as the person is eligible to play for Nigeria! Not because your wife slept with his brother you shouldn't call him into the team. The fact that he is not your friend does not mean he is not a professional. Under-keshi this hasn't been the case, he has completely ignored Nigerians that do very well with their teams.

6. Quarter-final ticket at worldcup! Yes! France was beatable!! Qualifying from that group was a sure-bet given the fact that we were gona play Argentina as the last game hopefully then we'd both qualify. Beating Iran or Bosnia was not to be a problem as African champions, yet we drew with Iran and narrowly won Bosnia. We had the best chance for Africa to reach semi-final. How I wish Algeria was in our group in place of us!!!

I can go on and on. Even at this moment, there's no cohesion on the field of play. It makes me sad that SIA1 took the super-eagles job when eguavon had fumbled. I wish he is given a fresh opportunity because in my opinion, he is miles better than keshi tactically.

I read people comment that keshi has provided results. Please what results are we talking about here? Football is rated on current form. In the last 10games keshi has coached, how many victories has the super eagles recorded??

I should also remind us that SIA1 was not the reason super eagles failed to qualify for afcon2012, it was eguavon! He lost to guinea in a crucial qualifying match. SIA1 even managed to cut that gap to same points, but we lost out on head to head rule.

Let me also remind you guys that nff couldn't inform the super eagles bench that at 2-1 with Libya playing goalless in their match, we would've qualified as best losers. Nff didn't even know that, SIA1 had to push the boys forward for the 'unwanted' 3rd goal which made us vulnerable to counter attack.
I said it to whoever cared to hear, keshi never overcame a though opposition apart from overrated ivory-coast. We won a nations cup that was less-competitive with a very average performance, yet we keep living in that 2yrs after.

Keshi failed at confederation's cup, failed at word cup! Please don't tell me qualifying in a group of Iran,Bosnia as second is an achievement worth mentioning. Those two teams were debutant at the world cup just after a first world cup win.
Keshi showed his tactical ineptitude in our game against France.

Congo brazaville with non-pro footballers disgraced us here in Nigeria not because the players were better but because their coach outshined ours.

Personally, I think this idea of mods should be killed! Seun take charge of every affair here, or you appoint someone working directly under you that goes through every topic before it makes front page. Also, every nairaland member except you should be of the same level. No one should have super power of banning anybody, moving topics of his/her friend to front page! You should be the boss in all!


2. COMMENTS SHOULD BE VERIFIED BEFORE POSTING.
I know everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but ones opinion shouldn't be an insult to someone else. Nairaland these days has been raided by teenagers who are largely immature in their comments. You can tell someone's personality through his comments. If you read topics of 2007-2010, you'll see very intelligent topics and comments. I guess then GSM wasn't handy to teenagers.

3. UNNECESSARY TOPICS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE BIN ASAP!

Topics like, 'am I the most handsome here?' 'I'm in love with Mrsx', should be sent to the bin immediately! It discourages more matured readers. if you observe most followers of nairaland back in 2007 etc have either stopped commenting or visiting the site lately.

4. TRY AND REDUCE MULTIPLE REGISTRATION.
I don't know how you can do this, but if possible, find a way to make it impossible for someone accessing this site with the same IP address log in with more than 1 account. You are the computer guru, work that out.

5. MAKE YOUR HOMEPAGE MORE COLOURFUL.
Try and make nairaland homepage more attractive to ones' eye. Re-arrange some things and possibly make the green colour more dominant.

This feeling is the reason most ladies venture into same sex ish! There's no risk of feeling worthless yet still get maximum satisfaction. Girls want sex more than guys.
