The main road leading to the Joseph Tarku University of Agriculture, formerly known as Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi has collapsed.

IDOMA VOICE observed that people living around the university have been trapped in their houses due to the development.

The road collapsed after a heavy downpour in the riverine community.

It is no longer news that students at all levels I.e nursery, primary, secondary as well as tertiary institutions have been clamouring to know the exact date that schools would be re-opened so that they can do back to their classes.

Most of these students are tired and frustrated after spending close to four months at home now with no sure date on when they would resume exactly. However, it is important to know that the Federal Government is maping out different ways so as to enable students return back to their classes soon enough.

According to the Federal Government, schools can only re-open when it is safe to do so, but due to the daily rising of confirmed coronavirus cases, the government does not think it is safe to re-open schools now.

The Federal Government had to rescind its initial plans to re-open schools for graduating students such as primary 6, JSS 3 & SS 3 students because it was still unsafe to do so.

The Federal Government believe that the health of Nigerian students is more important than writing examinations and this is why the government prefers that students lose a whole academic year than to expose them to the coronavirus which is still very much around.

However, students are already growing impatient at home and want to resume back to school soon as most of them have been idle at home since the closure of schools began almost four months ago.

Some of them queried why markets, churches, mosques and even airports can be re-opened while schools remain shut. To them, they see no reason why schools should not re-open even when the ban on inter state travel has been lifted. Nevertheless, the government at the central wants it to be safe for schools to re-open before students would be allowed back to their respective classes.

As things stand now, all primary, secondary as well as tertiary institutions should take note of these concerning school resumption:

1. Federal Government does not plan to re-open schools if coronavirus cases keeps rising in the country.

2. All students should obey laid-down protocols such as regular hand washing, social distancing, appropriate use of face masks e.t.c so as to limit the cases of the virus so that they can resume on time

3. Students are advised to continue reading their books as no new date of resumption has been announced by the Federal Government yet.

4. The most recent news about school resumption is that the Federal Government has suspended earlier plans to re-open schools as well stopped graduating SS3 students from writing WAEC

5. Only the Federal Government has the power to declare schools open and as at the time of writing this article, no exact date has been set yet.

Let’s unpack Governor Seyi Makinde’s N48billion
asset declaration in 13 different ways.
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State is worth
N48billion. We know this because he just told us
so.
By this latest public asset declaration, Seyi Makinde
will now probably rank as one of the richest
politicians in the land—one who amassed so much
wealth before actually assuming public office.
Not even President Buhari and Vice President
Osinbajo came any close to Makinde’s numbers
when they declared their assets publicly in 2015.
For context, President Muhammadu Buhari said he
only had N30million in the bank, 270 cows, 25
sheep, five horses, birds and economic trees, five
houses in Kaduna, Daura, Kano and Abuja, a plot of
land each in Port Harcourt and Kano; farms, an
orchard and some cars.
President Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo,
laugh it off in the power corridors. They really are
worth less than Seyi Makinde combined
(Presidency)
Buhari had added that his Daura houses were made
of “mud.”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo fared better on the
asset declaration stakes.
Osinbajo, a lawyer before his foray into politics,
declared that he had a bank balance of about N94m
and 900,000 United States Dollars, a four-bedroom
residence in Victoria Garden City, Lagos, and a
three-bedroom flat on 2, Mosley Road, Ikoyi; two-
bedroom flat on Redemption Camp along Lagos-
Ibadan Expressway and a 2-bedroom mortgaged
property in Bedford, England as at May 29, 2015.
Seyi Makinde is clearly the richest known politician
in Nigeria [SaharaReporters]
On Monday, July 15, 2019, Makinde picked up his
asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct
Bureau (CCB).
In this explainer, we unpack the governor’s assets
declaration form:
1. Gov Makinde is actually worth N48billion in
assets, companies and cash in the bank.
2. The current value of Makinde’s companies
stand at N48, 150,736,889 (forty-eight billion,
one hundred and fifty million, seven hundred
and thirty-six thousand, eight hundred and
eighty-nine Naira), with 33, 730,000 units of
shares as at May 28, 2019.
3. Gov Makinde owns the following companies:
Makon Engineering and Technical Services
Limited, Energy Traders and Technical
Services Limited, Makon Oil and Gas Limited,
Makon Group Limited, Makon Construction
Limited and Makon Power System Limited.
4. All of which tells us that Seyi Makinde has
invested in oil and gas, power, construction
and engineering—all of this while fighting to
be governor of Oyo State.
5. Makinde’s four companies have additional
assets denominated as loan notes including
Makon Engineering and Technical Services
Limited (N1.7 billion), Makon Power System
Limited (N148.4 million); Makon Oil and Gas
Limited (N341 million); Energy Traders and
Technical Services Limited (N1.159bn)
totalling N3.389 billion.
6. Now, wait for this: Makinde has cash at hand
and in the bank worth N234,742,296.01,
while in dollar terms, SeyiMakinde has cash
valued at $30,056.99 as at May 28, 2019.
7. Take properties in isolation. We have just
been told that the governor is worth N2,
624,800,500 (two billion, six hundred and
twenty-four million, eight hundred thousand,
five hundred naira in properties, including
developed and undeveloped ones.
8. Let’s strip it bare to what Makinde’s worth
comes to in international currency, shall we.
In Dollar terms, the governor also declared
property, developed and undeveloped as well
as household items valued at $4,400,000
(four million, four hundred thousand dollars
only).
9. In South African Rands, the governor declared
buildings and household items worth four
million, four hundred and fifty-seven thousand,
five hundred and fifty-four and four South
African Rands.
10. The houses declared by Seyi Makinde include
nine buildings in Nigeria, two in the U.S. and
one in South Africa. One of the properties in
the U.S. is described as ‘jointly owned’.
11. The governor has existing Bonds (Eurobond)
worth $3, 793, 500 as well as shares,
debentures and other securities valued at
N120,500,000 (One hundred and twenty
million, five hundred thousand naira).
12. To put it mildly, Seyi Makinde is currently
richer than most states in Nigeria. Only
Lagos, Nigeria’s commercial capital, makes
close to N48billion in a month, for context.
Lagos' internally generated revenue stands at
about N34billion monthly. Oyo state
generates about N4billion in a month.
Makinde can actually pay his state and keep
the change, if it came to that.
13. Governor Seyi Makinde, 51, says he declared
his assets publicly to encourage all the
members of his cabinet to do the same thing
” in as much they stay within the ambit of the
law.

A married woman has gotten herself into serious trouble after she visited her married partner in his house.

Reports gathered that the married man collapsed after sex romp with her. The lady however denied having anything to do with what happened.

She pleaded innocence, while regretting the fact that she left her kids at home to visit him, only for him to collapse after sex.

She also begged eye witnesses to allow her go back to her house and take care of the kids she left at home.

The Muslims recently celebrated end of Ramadan followed by the Eid celebrations. Some section of Arewa Twitter which comprises of northerners have used the opportunity to flaunt various types of wealth, exotic cars and expensive properties they own which have generated mixed reactions from many Nigerians.

A young man identified as only Mustapha on his social media page is currently being slammed by Nigerians over the caption he used on his Eid celebration picture he posted online. He uploaded a picture he took with a Lexus car behind him and captioned it with, "just to let you know, the car worth is over 100m and the clothes is about 15k per yard".

I broke up with my boyfriend today,

I met him while I was serving, he was nice and the only friend I had, I served in a village. While we were serving he doesn’t give me much, I practically kinda fed him cause he was always in my place. He had a roommate and I didn’t. Before he gives me any money we always had issues, not like he doesn’t hv to give. He just doesn’t want to. I don’t even ask for much.

After service we continued dating, he had no job so I told him to get a teaching job he said never ever, he rather follow he’s friends up and down , I kept quite watching what his plans maybe, I hv never asked him for a dim since we finished service mid last year, got a teaching job so taking care of myself.

My birthday would be coming up, his just passed, I told him that I would be expecting some cash on my birthday. We talked today and he’s telling me he spent all he’s money for he’s birthday, that if money comes he will send but right now he has no money, placing me on the probability table, so I said u couldn’t keep the one u would send me, he said people were buying drinks and buying drinks and he couldn’t tell them to stop. Am like are u serious ? I had to remind him that my birthday is few days away and he started saying he won’t be able to send anything. I told him without him doing the needful that there is no us.

Am tired, he has no vision, No focus , no aim , he depends on his friends and it's annoying. I think about he’s future more than he does , he’s always in the present. He’s making me feel like a bad person that he would make it. I hope he makes it but the relationship is so draining and I am 100% faithful to someone with no sense of reasoning. He’s Saying I am dating someone that’s why I want to leave him. He isn’t even addressing the issue we hv on ground .
