Our front three will be Aubameyang, Ozil and Lacazette. Front 3 will be Aubamayeng, Lacazette and Mkhi. We'll be going back to a back 4 if we sign Evans/another CB. An inform Mkhi and Ozil linking up will be stuff of dreams |

daveP: If it's that formation, Mkhi would simply slot into Sanchez Spot provided he and Aubameyang don't start the same time. else Iwobi would see the bench, but adapting would make Iwobi have an upper hand. Malcom deal is now weak. Yeah he is the Walcott replacement but Iwobi can play there too. But if results are what PA wenger wants he better let Iwobi and Wishere play in the middle together and let Auba stay central..... and Lacaz would stay on the right. This Transfers would displace Wekbeck though and not Iwobi. Don't know why you guys think Iwobi is good as a CM. Personally I think that is his weakest position. That was where he was playing when he nearly got released. His best position is as a 10 or on the left. I'd never play him as a CM. Auba will play central while Laca plays on the right...they'll rotate. As it is, it's Mkhitaryan and Ozil playing in his best positions. Welbeck is a pipe. That one should be sent to the u12. |

TheSuperNerd: Hmmmm... wait maybe you mistook me then for someone else on Arsenal's first 11. I know TheGoodJoe also said same thing. And I said based on the goals output of Arsenal back then and Nacho's showing for man City, he stands a great chance of making the first 11 with Sanchez moving to the left and Ozik just behind in a 4-3-3/4-2-3-1 or in a 3-5-2 (this formation was not even in discussion then). I agreed with theGoodJoe because truth is back then, Giroud was misfiring and I supported that thought because if you constantly create chances for nacho he will bury most of them. Sanchez and Ozil behind Nacho sounded really sweet to my ears coz it will all suit Nacho nicely.
And you try to have a balanced view... plsss don't stop. You must keep at it until you get there. You didnt watch UAE 2013? wow... and you still know some things about this lad to some extent... You dey try. But if you had really watched. you will see little more vital details.
And yes, he is still the alien kid... I believe he has the traits of many great footballers which is what makes him hard to define really. He can score, he can create. He is not the fastest but he is also not the slowest. He has very good pace but does. it run much.... A deeplying hybrid of a forward I can say for now and nothing more. He is intelligent with the use of the ball and has got great Vision to create openings or plays for teammates. He knows how to bring others into play even out of nothing. His finishing is well... great. Nuff said on that.
But his strengths lie beyond just finishing. His Vision is key. That is what enables him to give a final pass. And his reading of the game is also exceptional , he knows when he needs to run or when he needs to slow down... ofcos you also didn't mention his positioning.
Nacho still has to work on his first touch despite the encouraging show. He needs to keep practicing more freekicks so as to build on what he let the world take notice of received against Argentina and also need to increase his workrate levels. Mbappe's workrate levels and skills are bad ass and he is more physical and faster than Nacho. Mbappe is like the complete teenage athlete. But Nacho is simply more brains than brawn. That is the truth and he should just keep working harder to get better. His situation at Leicester is not encouraging at all. Wouldn't have gotten into Arsenal 11 as Alexis was playing well as a false 9 and his holdup play isn't/wasn't that great at that moment. Like I said, I didn't watch him at the U17s so I'm basing my view on what I watched from his first preseason at city till now. I hope he can display all the qualities you mentioned in due time. At the moment, his allround game is simply lacking. |

daveP: Mkhi won't and can't display Iwobi cos they don't play the same position. But agreed, He is a time bomb waiting to explode at Russia if he just shows an iota of what he showed Vs Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. Those were world class Midfielders he was passing thru said twas mere amateurs. I'll give him that credit. And yes, he can get better too..... But I don't have a problem with him(shrugs), inasmuch as he scores in the GWG without hassle. Let's always remember the Brazilians..... Club under perform, Country dazzling performance. I'm still of the school of thought that club performance doesn't equate to country performance..... In a 4-2-3-1/4-3-3, Wenger will most likely play Mkhi on the left as an inverted winger (on the right if we're truly getting Aubamayeng as Lacazette might play on the left). I'm honestly starting to get worried with Malcom being linked as well. It means Iwobi will be have a harder time getting in the team. Let's not forget Wilshere and Ramsey are around so playing as a CM go be war. Wenger seems to like him though so he'll somehow manage to find space for him |

daveP: Iwobi's form against Chelsea made me know what he's capable of Being the top pivot of the SE. If Iwobi doesn't work on his end product, he'll start having problems. Mkhitaryan is coming. People are pushing for Reiss Nelson who is stalling on a new deal as Psg and madrid are rumored to be looking at him. He needs to be more assertive and take more risks. He's certainly way better than anything he's shown this season. |

TheSuperNerd: He has been as cautious since the first day he stepped in here attacking Mikel and calling him irrelevant to the team.
Mickael2 have always never had a good thing to say about Nacho. Never and never... nacho has a bad game, he is cautious... Nacho has a good game, he is still cautious... nacho has a blitzkrieg of a game and he is still f**king cautious... abeg who is deceiving who? Is he more cautious than Chief Icon4s? Is he as genuinely conservative? very funny indeed.
I recall your comments on Nacho too from all those time man, how you also undervalued his potentials speaking only of his finishing... so it is no surprise seeing you take sides with Mikael's views. Wehdone. Loool I try to have a balanced view of Nacho. I didn't watch the 2013 U17 tournament, but I was genuinely excited when I heard about Nacho. Watched some of his game at preseason and I noticed 2 things - his final pass and good finishing. I honestly didn't see much to suggest he was going to be a 10 or a messi like "alien kid" like you used to call him. He's a great striker but I'll never say he's better than Mbappe, Jesus and would get into Arsenal's first 11 like you said then because it's simply not true. Nacho's main strengths are his final pass and finishing. Simple. |

This Nacho thing is getting boring. It's quite simple - all Mickael2 is saying/trying to imply is while Nacho had a good game and scored 2 great goals, he isn't getting carried away by it as it was against a weak side and doesn't in anyway signify that "Nacho is back" or he has made drastic improvements. He's merely just being cautious. Personally, I loved his first goal as it was great finish and it's one of the reasons why I want him to improve as a lone striker. He's easily the best finisher we have in SE and honestly, I can't think of a SE striker whose finishing excites me as much as Nacho with that left foot of his. |

Report: Arsenal to end Nwakali’s loan early By Arseblog News Hound - January 18, 2018 3
The brother and agent of Arsenal youngster Kelechi Nwakali has revealed that Arsenal are planning to bring the Nigeria youth international’s loan with Dutch side VVV Venlo to a premature end this January.
The 19-year-old midfielder moved to the Eredivisie outfit in the summer on a season-long deal but has struggled for minutes. He scored on his debut back in September but has been restricted to just 11 further appearances.
Speaking to allnigeriasoccer.com, Allwell Nwakali revealed: “Arsenal decided to bring him out from VVV Venlo because the coach was busy playing the players that came from relegation with him leaving players like Kelechi and some other loan players on the bench.
“There’s a Real Madrid player (Mink Peeters) that is about to leave the way Kelechi is leaving.
”Arsenal never wanted him to be on the bench because they have their plans for him.”
His brother also revealed that Portuguese side Porto have shown an interest in taking the player in the second half of the season.
”FC Porto of Portugal are interested and even wanted an option to buy but they are discussing with Arsenal now. Arsenal are not interested for such opinion because they need Kelechi soon in the main team.”
Last season Nwakali was also in Holland with MVV Maastricht. |

AllforJesus7: Cont......
Q: Does France have the best squad?
A: Yes. Along with Brazil and Germany. And let's not forget Argentina. Argentina is at the same level as Spain, but the thing is that they play with so much pressure that they're unable to perform. It's not true that they don't have midfielders. I think Banega could play for Barca. Can't Mascherano play as a pivot? He obviously doesn't have the technical level that Busquets does, but he's improved a lot. When he came to Barca he had trouble positioning himself because he hasn't needed to do this before. He would play long passes or pass the ball to Gerrard and it was enough. But at Barca he had to do more. You have to look, visualize, see what player is unmarked and has enough space and time to work the play... Barca is the final exam for a player. It's the most difficult and most demanding club in the world. Madrid doesn't have the same neat football. If their defender boots the ball into the stands it's fine. That's the culture. People applaud. At the Camp Nou if you do that there are already noises in the crowd. Since Cruyff s time.
Q: You don't think the Bernabeu is demanding?
A: Both sets of fans are demanding, but the difference is that at the Bernabeu the demand is to give your all. They can't stand lazy players. Their reference is the spirit of Juanito. The culture of Madrid is the spirit of Juanito or Camacho. What's Barcelona's culture? It's not Victor Murioz's, or Caldere's. Barcelona's cultura is Cruyff s cultura. And he would turn, look, understand the game and not lose the ball.
Q: PSG is a reference in football now, but their history is still recent. How do you build a team when the players are more important than the club?
A: The player still respects the coach a lot. I mean: the idea that even if the player makes 20 million and the coach makes 5 million you still have to listen to him is internalized. We might reach a moment in which a star thinks "what the hell is this guy telling me?" But more than physical and tactical work, what a coach has to do is group management: talking to every player and knowing how to manage the difference maker. Being honest: "If you don't train well you won't play regardless of how much of a star you are. You should know that." And telling the group: "We have two things that aren't negotiable: respect and attitude." Thinking as a coach I think these are the two things that you can't do without. Player can fail. But let them fail with my ideals. Emotional intelligence is basic for a coach. You can't fight with your players. You have to seduce them.
Q: PSG's squad has always been very professional. Don't you think that with Neymar they're introducing a hedonistic incertitude of a guy who is capable of going to his sister's birthday in the middle of the season?
A: Neymar is a good guy. He likes to have fun. So does Alves. People think that Alves parties all the time because he posts videos on Instagram of him playing the drums. But he's professional. That's his life style.
Q: But Alves never left to go to his sister's birthday...
A: That's up to the coach. Cruyff had to manage Romario and that wasn't easy either.
Q: Do you think Neymar is a leader?
A: He's an incredible leader. He's amazing on the pitch. He has a strong personality and never gets scared. That's a quality. That's what makes great players great. The fact that in the most difficult moments he will say "give me the ball". What happened at Barca was that when things got tough everyone wanted the ball. Everyone had that personality. The problem with PSG and City in recent years was that their players weren't used to having this weight on them. Now you look at PSG and you see Cavani, Di Maria, Neymar, Verratti... They've won things. They've been there. Neymar gets mad when they don't pass to him. That's something.
Q: Does Mbappe has more potential than any player since Messi?
A: Yes. Mbappe is going to be... I think there will be a time after Messi and Cristiano when Neymar will be the reference. Because he's also Brazilian and Brazil have a good chance of being WC finalists. So Neymar's gonna have his period of 3-4 years. And then it's going to be Mbappe. He has brutal potential. He's very young. Just 19. And he's a beast. But I'm not sure... I think that talent ends up winning over physicality. Neymar is like Messi: talent and physicality. Right now I think that Mbappe has more physicality than talents. And the way I understand the game the players who make the difference more do so by talent. Neither Iniesta nor me had any physicality. Just talent. The ones who were touched with the magic wand have both: Maradona, Pele, Ronaldo Nazario, Messi, Neymar, and Mbappe has that too. But I see him more as an Henry. I'm sure he'll improve with Emery. He works well. He's a very good coach. But if you play him at Barca he would improve much more. He would understand everything. If Guardiola coaches him he goes from being an 8.5 to a 9.5. Neymar is already a 9.5. Difficult to improve that. Mbappe has to improve a lot, especially in terms of understanding the game. But because of the fact that since he was in the U16s o U17s he could go and do his play based on pure ability he hasn't had to think a lot about the rest of the game. I want to see what he does against an organized defense like Atletico. Based on the way I understand football, right now, Neymar is better. Link?? |

Did anyone see the Gernot Rohr super sports interview where he called his players "average players warming the bench in their clubs"? I read that and felt he was directly responding to the 94/2018 debate we had here last December. Lol Wouldn't surprise if he said this.
