Nairaland / General / Prophet TB Joshua's Grace And Anointing Lives On - Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin I by edikandavid(m): 1:31pm On Jun 09, 2021
Renowned Nigerian Billionaire Prophet and founder of Christ MercyLand Deliverance Ministries (CMDM) located in Warri Delta State, Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin while addressing his congregation said that the death of popular televangelist TB Joshua, was a rude shock to the body of Christ, globally.

Fufeyin expressed his emotions as being at an all-time high since the demise of the globally recognized Man of God. Describing him as a Kingdom General who should be celebrated and remembered, dead or alive.

Fufeyin, who led his entire congregation in a one minute silence to mourn and honor the deceased Prophet TB Joshua. He maintained that he was a good man whose life and ministry has touched millions of lives across the globe.

TB Joshua passed on last Saturday, at age 57 in an undisclosed cause. The preacher founded The Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN); a Mega Christian Church in Lagos.

Observing a minute silence to honour the great Man of God, Prophet Fufeyin prayed for his family, asking that God Almighty gives them the fortitude bear this great loss.

“The church of God has lost a soldier but heaven gains a soul. We pray for the family and the entire members of SCOAN and Emmanuel TV, that they will be comforted in Jesus Name,” Renowned prophet, Fufeyin, said.

“When you look at the ministry of Jeremiah is like TB Joshua’s Ministry. Why? Through his ministry I saw cancers were healed, … mad people recovered instantly, … one on one prophesies, deliverance, one on one touch, I learnt a lot from this man”.
“The same thing you’re seeing there, you are seeing them here. Is there any difference? The souls he had won is uncountable. Anybody that knows Christ, every household today knows the name TB Joshua. Politics / Governor Emmanuel Revives Extra-curricular Learning Culture In Public Schools by edikandavid(m): 12:34pm On May 02, 2021
... As Students Visit Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company On Excursion

On Friday, 30th April 2021, Completion Agenda Exposition Campaign kicked off with participating schools drawn from Nsit Atai, and Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State.

The event which took place at the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company located in Awa, Onna Local Government Area, saw over 48 students from Essien Itiaba Community Secondary School, Nsit Atai Local Government and their counterpart from Secondary Commercial School in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, participating in the exercise.

Participating students were carefully selected by their various schools based on excellent and unprecedented academic performance.

Speaking during the event, Mrs Josephine Bassey, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, and the progenitor of the campaign stated that she was motivated to embark on the exercise after she had discovered that the extracurricular learning culture in public schools had long gone into extinction.

The Completion Agenda Exposition Campaign, which is part of her project monitoring activities, but this time educating and exposing the younger generation to the activities and projects undertaken by Governor Udom Emmanuel led administration, is aimed at providing a learning platform for students in public schools who don’t have the advantage of embarking on academic expeditions like their counterparts in private schools, but this time, in a whole new experience.

During the event, Principals of the participating schools expressed their excitement, saying that this is the very first time since they took over their various schools as principals, that their students are having the opportunity of going out on excursions, emphasizing that it is part of the school curriculum, but no budget to cover the trip expenses.

A student from Essien Itiaba Community Secondary School in Nsit Atai who spoke with us during the exercise thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel, the Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebet, and the Special Assistant to the Governor on Project Monitoring, Mrs Josephine Bassey for affording them the opportunity to visit the largest Syringe Manufacturing Company in Africa.

"Today, I've been shown the step by step procedures in syringe manufacturing. I have learnt the safety precautions in the production areas, we have been introduced to the raw materials we only hear in class rooms used in the productions, the machines needed and everything one would love to know about the whole process.

"I want to especially thank our education-friendly Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel who has made education free and compulsory for us, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, and Mrs Josephine Bassey for this experience, it has shaped my future, and I would love to work here someday", he said.

Also, a teacher from Secondary Commercial School, Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area who joined the exercise expressed her fulfilment in the campaign, reiterating that it was a very good learning exercise, and she believes the students have learnt so much as she has learnt.

Miss Ruth, the Quality Assurance Officer of Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company who took the second batch of students through their facility was elated at the level of adaptability from the students and was forced to express her happiness.

"I am very happy today that the students were following up everything that they were taught, and it was evident in the Q&A session, and I must say, this is the first time, public school students have visited our facility on an excursion, and it is a welcome development." She said.

Highpoint of the event was the questions and answers session which was conducted by Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company, where the students exhibited unprecedented performance and winners were given gifts by the host Company. Group photographs were taken, and refreshments were made available to the students to crown it all.

Politics / APC Crisis: ADF Faults Caretaker Chairman, Insists On Akpabio’s Leadership by edikandavid(m): 7:03pm On Apr 05, 2021
A foremost socio-political organization Akwa Ibom Democratic Forum (ADF) has described the recent call for boycott of the stakeholders meeting organised by Group Capt. Sam Ewang (Rtd) by the caretaker committee of All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State which gave rise to the political tension in the party as morally, politically, constitutionally and logically wrong.
Recall that the Caretaker committee leadership of the APC in the state led by Dr. Ita Udosen had pulled out of the stakeholders meeting organised by former military governor and national caucus member of the party in which the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Chief Godswill Akpabio was reaffirmed as the party leader in the state.

Udosen had gone ahead to call for last minute boycott of the event and further summon the former military administrator to appear before the party for interogation..

In a press statement endorsed by the Director General of ADF Rt. Hon. Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo and Secretary General Dr. Anthony Usoro, and made available to journalists, ADF said it is sad to note that people who were duly informed and invited for the meeting with some of their inputs making the implementation matrix could turn around to castigate the convener whom they encouraged, giving the public the hypocritical impression that he (convener) acted arbitrary.

“This type of “tortoise politics” which relies on wiles and dissembling is the reason our great party, the APC is still in the woods and lacking the ardor it mustered when debuted”.
The group regretted that the party in the state acted at the behest of one of its stakeholders whom they said, “desperately wants to appropriate the reins of the party in the state for crudely selfish reasons that are antithetical to public good”.

ADF further recalled with nostalgia that Senator Akpabio was named and publicly declared as leader of APC in Akwa Ibom State on August 8, 2018 by the National Delegation of APC led by the then National Chairman of the party who was in the state to witness Akpabio’s “movement” to APC.

They further explained, “It is trite knowledge that governors are the leaders of their parties in their respective states where such parties are in control. Conversely, where a party is not in control of the State with the attendant reality of not having a governor, the highest political office holder in that State emerges naturally and seamlessly as the political leader of that party. In Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Timipreye Sylva is unnegotiable the leader of APC in Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Rotimi Amaechi is the leader of APC in Rivers State, so is it in all other States of similar underpinning. But in Akwa Ibom State, there seems to be an unbridled and inordinate quest to change the standard to satisfy some odious cravings.

“APC does not have a governor in Akwa Ibom State, having shot itself in the foot in the 2019 election through this same putrefying rancor and acrimony. The highest political office holder is the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, who is an influential member of the Federal Executive Council. The position of APC leader in the State naturally dovetails to Senator Godswill Akpabio as Minister and member, Federal Executive Council as well as former performing governor who foisted a distinctive era in our dear State”.

The group further highlighted, “The muffled hullabaloo by a few desperate and vested interests that it should not be him is strange to sane ears and a shocking realization that hate could replace even good and logical reason.

As a political pressure/support group with undisguised interest in APC, we are conscious of the fact that unless people subsume their interests and personal ambitions under the party, the hope of the party clinching power in 2023 is farfetched”.

ADF said Senator Godswill Akpabio has the competence, capacity and experience to lead the party to victory in the State in 2023 and appealed to APC members to close ranks and extend the requisite support to him.

The group intoned that the stakeholders meeting which attracted topnotch leaders of the party and array of personalities confer acceptability and stamp of credibility on the affirmation exercise..

On the way forward the group suggested,
“To return the party footing of political vibrancy, we call on the party leadership in the State to urgently institute a process to reconcile all political actors and stakeholders, and bring them into one-fold with a new vision that would drive the dream of APC and position the party to take over power, come 2023.

ADF also used the opportunity to express gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for his exceptional and elegant performance across different sectors with the utmost desire to reposition the nation for optimal productivity.

In the same vein, they applauded Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu for his political dexterity and tremendous role as the National Leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC), which has guaranteed the party stability both at the national and different states of the nation.

“We also commend in a special way, Senator Godswill Akpabio for his giant strides to economically, politically and socially stabilize the entire region of the Niger Delta as the Minister of the Niger Delta affairs. Sequel to these superfluous records of achievements, ADF credits a vote of confidence to the troika”. The group asserted.

Since his arrival in Akwa Ibom property and investment company limited, Uyo (APICO) on December 11, 2019, the government appointed MD/CEO has been held bent on acquiring unprecedented wealth at the detriment of the company according to reliable sources.

To resist attempt by other management and staff to stop his unethical practices according to our findings, he called for restructuring of the company by the state government, believing that he will be given the free hand to send away his perceived enemies and opponents of his practices.

Our correspondents have also noticed UDONFANG CAMPAIGN NETWORK BUSES back on the roads indicative of activating his political aspiration for Abak Federal Constituency position in 2023. Indigenes of Nung Obong in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area under the auspices of Nung Obong Patriots and Nung Obong Development Association have appealed to the Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel to impress it upon the contractor handling construction of Ikot Eyo/Nung Obong/ Ikot Ntung road in the community to return to site.

Indigenes of the community made the appeal while carrying out interventions on a section of the Ikot Eyo/Nung Obong/ Ikot Ntung road to make it motorable.

The community lauded the Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel for awarding contract for the construction of the road including a broken bridge which had cut off residents of Nung Obong and Mbiekene from accessing neighbouring communities.

The community said the contractor handling the road project, Bulletin Construction Company, halted work on the road during the last rainy season and has not resumed work at the site since then.

The communuty stressed that the road which links many communities including Ikot Eyo, Edem Idim Okpot, Mbiekene, Nung Obong, Ikot Ntung is economically important for the continued rural trading and farming which are the mainstay of indigenes of the area.

The groups added that indigenes of the community can no longer access their rice farm at Nung Obong, which has over the years been the means of livelihood for the farmers.
While appealing to Governor Udom Emmanuel to kindly include the project among those to be completed within the 2021 fiscal year, lauded the member representing Nsit Ubium in the State House of Assembly, Barr Otobong Bob for speaking consistently on the need for accelerated speed on construction of the road.

Nairaland / General / Wonderful Reunion, As Snr. Prophet Jeremiah Crossed Paths With An Old Pastor by edikandavid(m): 3:28pm On Jan 14, 2021
December 27, 2020 was a day of blessing encounter as Senior Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin met with is long time friend Pastor Dominic Nwoko of Mountain of Fire Ministry who paid a visit to Prophet Omoto and he is still serving in Mountain of Fire, Delta State. Amidst church service in Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry, Delta State, Nigeria.

In 2011 whenever there is heavy rain fall, Prophet Jeremiah’s church building and properties usually get submerged in flood. This was a setback of this ministry about ten years ago.

One day Pastor Dominic had a dream and told Prophet Fufeyin what his ministry would look like three years after the vision. In the dream Pastor Dominic told the Prophet that he saw ‘mansions, Big City inside the church premises of Christ Mercy Land Deliverance Ministry, foreigners trooping into the church, and some of them trying to see the man of God’.

See video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHuMSU2t2v8

On noticing Pastor Dominic in the congregation, the Senior Prophet called him out, exchanged pleasantries, both of them recalled how far God has brought them and the dream Pastor Dominic had about this ministry some years ago, Pastor Dominic narrated his ordeals doing ministry work and a few life challenges, the Senior Prophet seeing the way he dressed to church knew that all was not well with him, he had compassion to bless Pastor Dominic with a car, N200,000 cash gift and N1,000,000 for stipend. Worshippers reacted to this show of love by the Philanthropist cum man of God, as congregant prayed for God to continually bless the Prophet and his ministry to grow from grace to grace.

To the glory of God on Thursday 31st of December 2020, during the Cross Over night service those gift items were delivered to Pastor Dominic.

Nairaland / General / Unoma Akpabio, Making Shelter A Must For The Needy by edikandavid(m): 8:06pm On Dec 12, 2020
Some people argue that not every charity deserves our attention as the world is too big for an individual to be everybody's Good Samaritan.

This parochial notion, sadly, derives from our consumer-oriented society which pressures humans to place too much value on material things, to the point that ours is based on how much we have.

But in the view of Mrs. Ekaette Unoma Akpabio, wife of the Niger Delta Affairs Minister, however, once one is determined that a project honors God, one should not hold back. He/she should give out generously and joyfully.

It is a truism that, Mrs. Akpabio is nudged on by the belief that it was not the gift of the Philippians to Paul the Apostle, but their spirit of love and devotion that Paul appreciated most - and so do God. In other words, humanitarian service when viewed from that prism, translates to "Sactificial Giving".

Like the widow of Zarephath, the former First Lady has in extending the frontiers of her quiet but revolutionary works of charity (after donating houses to widows in Ini and Ukanafun very recently), today, Saturday, 12th December 2020, commissioned and donated a bungalow to yet another widow, Mrs. Mfon Mendie Okon, a widow of 40 years with five children in Oruk Anam LGA.

Sadly, Mrs. Okon's husband died while she was pregnant with her fifth and last child. Life for Mrs. Okon became nasty, brutish and seemingly short, as their dilapidated thatched house collapsed on their heads. That triggered their forceful-relocation to her husband's family compound - a house which also had its roof shattered by storm.

Added to that unsavoury state was how widow Mfon each time it rained, frantically searched for corners within their sporadically leaking room to cuddle her children through menacing cold.

Her suffering did not stop there. Her lack of a valid means of livelihood also forced her into taking up virtually all types of menial jobs within the community, which at various times came just in exchange for food for the children, as people she delivered services to, took undue advantage of her precarious situation (which was enough to force any sane human into depression as it did Mrs. Mfon Okon).

However, in the beautiful world of Mrs. Akpabio, Chairperson of Sen. Godswill Obot Akpabio Foundation, lies empathy, care, love and sincere belief in being one's brother's keeper. Hence, when Mrs. Okon's helpless story, as usual, got to Her Excellency, she rose to the challenge, and built/furnished a two-bedroom bungalow, commissioned and donated same to Mrs. Okon and her children, thus putting their gory past behind them.

Expectedly, Mrs. Akpabio further complemented the historic event as she extended a hand of fellowship to other widows in the community through the donation of bags of rice and wrappers.

But the pertinent question is, how is Her Excellency able to sustain the Shelter Support Programme? The answer is simple: You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving.

Nairaland / General / VIRAL: See Photos Of Soon To Be Opened World-class Recording Studio In Uyo by edikandavid(m): 10:50am On Nov 01, 2020
Photos of an ultra-modern recording studio have emerged on social media and have spread like wildfire across the revolutionary media, Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

According to reports, the studio which is situated at Akwa Ima Estate will be set for commissioning on or before December 2020

Tracing of the photographs of the supposed studio to its source, our reporters gathered that the studio is alleged to be owned by one Mr Precious Ewa, who goes by the stage name, Supersonic Blaze.

When contacted, Mr Ewa claimed ownership of the ultra-modern recording studio, which he said will be one of its kind in this part of the world.

Speaking to nowupdateonline.com.ng via a phone conversation, Blaze said he was able to put the studio together from the proceeds he makes from his Palm fruit plantation/oil processing mill, while encouraging young people to embrace diversification and patronise entrepreneurship.

He further added that the essence of the studio was to see how he can give his little support to up and coming artistes, who have good songs, but production fees have been a hindrance.

“The edifice you’re saying there will serve as my little contribution to the growth of the entertainment industry in the state. Let me say this to you first as gentlemen of the press, that artistes will use the studio for free, all they will need do is bring/pay their producer/sound engineer, and I think in the next one year from now, we will see the positive impact this will create in the industry,” Ewa said.

Politics / Coping With Covid-19 The Akwa Ibom Way by edikandavid(m): 2:46pm On Apr 09, 2020
One of the distinguishing features of a good leader is the capacity to think outside of conventional wisdom. The motivating impulse is always the foresight and vision such a leader brings to bear in governance. At the onset, postulating new ideas, and insisting on following through with them often threaten the popularity of visionary leaders. However, the popularity the purposeful leaders begin to soar as soon as their unpopular course of action begins to produce positive and undeniable results.

This scenario best describes the governance style of Mr. Udom Emmanuel. When he started out as governor, his model of empowerment, poverty alleviation and job creation anchored on industrialization, met with doubts and criticisms. Cynics dismissed it as another political gimmick to hoodwink the people. Apart from the innumerable Micro, Small and Medium entrepreneurial initiatives of his administration, which has provided means of livelihood for countless Akwa Ibom people, a number of foreign industrial concerns have also sprang up in the State.

Five years into his administration, he has attracted and facilitated the establishment of about 18 industries that have emotional and economic connectivity with the people. The meteoric rise in the number of foreign investors that have moved in, to do business, has led the state to being adjudged twice in the last five years as the second largest destination for foreign direct investments in Nigeria by the National Bureau of Statistics.

As if he knew the global community will be plunged into a socio-economic catastrophe, as occasioned by the current Coronavirus pandemic, Governor Udom Emmanuel had, from the inception of his administration, among other things, insisted on industrialization alongside agriculture and food sufficiency as the main pillars that will underpin the welfare programme of his administration.

Today, through his investments in agriculture, staple foodstuffs such as garri and rice have remained within the reach of the common man.

This, he achieved through the establishment of rice mills in Ini and Ibiono local government areas and several garri processing plants in the state.

The icing on the cake in Governor Emmanuel’s devotion to kitchen table issues saw the establishment of Kings Flour Mill, which was commissioned by Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo in September 2019. As global economies struggle to cope with the new realities and dynamics, confectionaries, such as bread, cakes and associated items are easily available at the right quantity; at the right price and at the right time. Periodically, the administration of Governor Emmanuel has continued to release garri and rice from the State Reserves into the market to cushion the effect of the biting economic realities.
Since his assumption of office in 2015, Governor Emmanuel has taken up the issue of healthcare delivery as a major area of concentration as reflected in the numerous achievements in that sector. Apart from upgrading facilities at the Ibom Specialist Hospital to meet originally intended standards, several secondary healthcare facilities have been remodeled, reconstructed or refurbished, and equipped enough to render affordable healthcare services to the people. As if the Governor knew the world will be hit with a major health challenge, many of the hospitals in the state have been upgraded to digitally handle their operations.

Beginning with strategic interventions in structural facilities at the St. Luke’s Hospital, Anua, Uyo, General Hospital, Etinan; General Hospital Ikono; General Hospital Iquita, Oron; General Hospital Ikot Okoro; General Hospital, Ituk Mbang, as well as Immanuel Hospital, Eket and Awa Comprehensive Hospital have all been turned around, courtesy of the purposeful leadership of Governor Emmanuel. A number of other health facilities are still undergoing transformation across the state. Also, construction of a 300-bed Isolation Centre in Ituk Mbang, to complement existing ones in Ikot Ekpene and Ibom Specialty Hospital.

Another notable, significant and futuristic investment in healthcare sector by Governor Udom Emmanuel is the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Company. The factory, which is the largest in Africa, has the capacity to produce over 400 million syringes, expandable to 1Billion annually. It has not only created employment opportunities for youths, but has also made Akwa Ibom and Nigeria, exporter of syringes, thereby improving the nation’s economy in general. During its inauguration on September 23, 2017, Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, overwhelmed by the magnitude of the project, described the initiator, Governor Emmanuel as an asset to the economic development of the country.

While the world lay comatose due to the global Coronavirus pandemic and the rising need for medical equipment, this great investment has ameliorated the impact on the populace, thus giving further credence to Governor Emmanuel’s visionary leadership.

With the Jubilee Syringe Manufacturing Factory, the largest in Africa; the King's Flour Mill and several other companies spread across the state, Governor Emmanuel’s dream of industrializing the state has been a promise kept.
Given the deep insight, huge investment and enabling environment that Governor Udom Emmanuel has brought to bear in his industrialization strides in the State, the people of the fast growing and peaceful state can now look ahead to a better and more secured economic future.

At a time like this, when communities, cities, states and even nations are on lockdown, the major challenge confronting families is how to feed. With fast dwindling finances, families are in dire need of basic food items. As a people oriented-leader, Governor Emmanuel has commenced the provision of palliatives to the good people of AKwa Ibom State.
The palliatives of the Udom Emmanuel administration for the people include rice, garri, flour and other essential food items, to cushion the effect of the Quarantine and Restriction of Movement Regulations 2020.

It is imperative to mention that the flour, rice and garri that the administration is giving as relief materials distributed to the people, down to the village level, are all produced in Akwa Ibom State.
Akwa Ibom people are indeed blessed to have a leader in the mould of Governor Udom Emmanuel. Notwithstanding the gloom cast over the global economy, no thanks to COVID-19, Governor Emmanuel’s visionary leadership, through his robust industrialization agenda, had set Akwa Ibom on the path of socio-economic sustainability, particularly, for a time like this.
GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL IS TRULY A LEADER FOR A TIME LIKE THIS!

Politics / Covid19: Governor Emmanuel's Proactive Steps Incontrovertible by edikandavid(m): 2:35pm On Apr 09, 2020
I read with sadness in my heart the bias analysis in Daily Post purpotedly written by a nameless writer on the caption: "Coronavirus in Nigeria: List of the Best and the Worst Performing Governors so far", in which the writer attempted to evaluate how each state governor in Nigeria is handling covid-19 pandemic in their respective states. After a careful study of the piece, I have come to the conclusion that the writer is not only deficient in facts and accurate data, but has sold his conscience to the devil.

As good as the caption may appear to sound, such piece is not only vague and shallow in content, but malicious, misleading and more of the figment of his imagination.

Even before we had the five reported cases in Akwa Ibom, Gov. Udom Emmanuel had proactively stepped in to put things in place, in case of any eventuality. Hospitals were furnished and isolation center prepared, before the recent construction of a facility to accomodate 300 beds, as isolation center. Medical kits have been provided including hand gloves and hand sanitizers. The Quarantine and Restriction of Movement Regulation has been signed and a total lockdown has been ordered in the state, as it's being recommended by The World Health Organization(WHO).

Not only this, palliative has been given to help cushion the effect of the lockdown on Akwa Ibom residents. What else do they want the governor to do? Where is the governor lagging behind?

It was glaringly clear that the NCDC did not take appropriate procedure in the announcement of the result of the sample sent to them by Akwa Ibom state government. There was a breach in the process, which the Managing Director of NCDC admitted. How would they expect the state government to react to such sensitive mistake?

This pandemic is of a global scale and there is no country or state that can claim to have been 100% ready for it.

For someone to sit in the corner of a room to concoct such fake analysis is to say the list, is criminal in nature. It is a crime against humanity and a mockery to the souls of those we have lost in the war, the world over. It appears as if the national lockdown has locked the brain and sense of reasoning of the writer who has seen nothing else in this world to write than such balderdash.

Gov. Emmanuel will not be deterred by such paid and poorly evaluated piece. He will continue to do his best to ensure that the state is protected, in line with the oath of office he took.

Stay safe and keep praying for Akwa Ibom State.

Business / The Ibom Blue Sea Project And Its Prospects For Akwaibomites by edikandavid(m): 8:30am On Dec 24, 2019
On Thursday, December 19, 2019, the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel flagged-off the reconstruction of the moribund Science and Technology Park in Uyo amidst cheers from the host community and the people of the state.

The Blue Sea Science and Technology Park which is situated in five villages in Itu and two villages in Uyo Local Government Area, covers a stretch of 548-square-kilometer in the state.

The project which was initiated 13 years ago by the Victor Attah administration was stalled by the immediate past administration on grounds that its location is erosion prone, and that no matter the building erected there, it would be threatened.

However, the China Blue Sea International Holdings, after surveying the region and certifying it as most suitable for the edifice has assured that the same abandoned site which was said would be more costly to fix, than the cost of the project itself; will comprise a Technical University, Vocational Training Base, a High-Tech Building Materials Plant, a five-star hotel and a hospital.

From all indications, the project which will carry the design concept of leading science and technology, intelligence, foresight and ecology, will become of symbolic historical significance.

The decision by Gov. Udom Emmanuel to revisit the Science and Technology Park Project initiated in 2006 by the then governor, Arc Victor Attah is another well-thought-out initiative of Gov. Emmanuel to create an enabling environment that will situate Akwa Ibom strategically in the world's technological map. This project on completion will leave generations unborn in awe of the visionary disposition of a man who sees tomorrow.

Without any dispute, we are living in a world of technology. In fact, technology drives our world. Our economy, Banking system, Automobile industry, Agriculture, Medicine, Education, Fashion, Media, and many others are technology- dependent. Till the end of time, the world will still be sustained by technology and without which, life will be miserable.

A cursory look at this shows that the future of Akwa Ibom state is not only sealed, but we are on our way to creating a guaranteed destination for our children and youths.

Analysts have foreseen that the Ibom Blue Sea Science and Technology Park will bring jobs, employments and development to the people of the Area and as well promote the construction and transformation of the state power plant, Sea port and free trade zone when fully constructed.

This initiative is in line with Gov. Emmanuel's determination to make Akwa Ibom a tourist destination and project the state to the world. Investors are already trooping into the state to be a part of this generational blessing.

This is the kind of project that leaders of nations initiate for their countries and are celebrated throughout their lifetime, and Akwa Ibom is so blessed to have a governor who is not only technology-driven, but has a clear vision for the future of Akwa Ibom people.

For those who do not know and are still in the dark of what a Science Park portends for a nation, a science park is an infrastructure of the global knowledge economy which provides locations that foster innovation, development and commercialisation of technology where governments, universities and private companies can collaborate.

According to Link and Scott (2015), Science parks are commonly described as physical areas where multiple knowledge-intensive organisations and institutes co-locate and where innovation is formally and informally leveraged.
They differ from high-technology business districts in that they are more organized, planned, and managed and lead to commercialized products from research.
They also differ from industrial and business parks which focus on manufacturing and administration only.
Its benefits are numerous as it offers a number of shared resources ranging from programs to activities, uninterruptible power supply, telecommunications hubs, reception and security, management offices, bank offices, convention center, parking, and internal transportation; where one can shop at a stop.

This is so that knowledge can be shared, innovation promoted, and research outcomes progressed to viable commercial products.
For a nation, a Science park contributes to national economic development, stimulating the formation of new high-technology firms, attracting foreign investment and promoting exports., while a host community enjoys the presence of a science park in the area of job opportunity.

This is because people from all fields and skills are needed to assist the developers of technology to bring their work to commercial fruition.

From masons, to artisans, stone carvers, bricklayers, skilled and unskilled labourers, all forms of crafts are required in the make-up of the Park.

For example, sports facilities, restaurants, crèches or pleasant outdoor areas would require the inputs of vendors from within.

Notably, Science parks are found across the globe. Research has it that they are most common in developed countries like North America which has over 170 science parks.
For us in Nigeria, the Akwa Ibom situated Blue Sea Project is the first of its kind and will yield huge benefits if lauded and allowed to sail through.

The project, when completed, will boost our sagging economy which is its paramount essence.
It will provide abundant space for growth courtesy of its large outdoor spaces that facilitate business growth and expansion.

Comprising adequate office space, fully-equipped laboratories, proper storage and warehouse facilities, and high-quality conference rooms and meeting centers, organisations with limited funds and high preliminary expenses can benefit from these facilities.

As startups grow, they often require bigger offices and more facilities. Most technology parks provide ample space for business development.

A key advantage of the Blue Sea project is that it will be a consistent following stream of the latest technology equipped with high-speed broadband internet and telecommunication facilities that will make it easy to establish and manage a business.
Also, Science Parks come with a range of social amenities such as gyms, shopping centers, swimming pools, restaurants, recreational centres, nurseries for rest, workers’ and family recreation.

Furthermore, a Science Park is equipped with various security features for the protection of workers, properties and information.
To prevent data theft and vandalism, technology parks are equipped with state-of-the-art security features. From surveillance cameras to a network of security guards, these parks have several measures in place to reduce the likelihood of criminal activities.

With these juicy prospects, it is of cardinal importance that Akwaibomites key into the making of this emerging giant in the state which will not only upgrade Akwa Ibom on the pedals of industrialised states, but will as well seat Nigeria among developing nations.

Just as some leaders of thoughts has called for the protection of the project by the host communities, Akwa Ibom people should also ensure that the hitherto abandoned site which had become a beehive of criminal activities, returns to its intended state of prestige and tourism.
The Blue Sea project has come, let us make it stay.

Akwa Ibom people in particular, and Nigerians in general will ever live to be grateful to Gov. Emmanuel- A man who sees tomorrow and "seizes" it for his people.
