Congratulations to her. This is the kind of news we pray and hope for. |
When they say, age gracefully, this is what they mean. Happy birthday, OBJ |
PulaPower:Is not enough reason to ban them? What about the economic cost? What about the job loss that may result in the ban of the satchet drinks? Instead of banning why sensitise them in partnership with other agencies such road safety, NOA etc Alternatively, the government could consider increasing taxes on sachet alcoholic drinks. A price increase may discourage excessive consumption and reduce patronage. |
I initially thought the ban was based on health concerns. However, if the reason is road accidents, then it would mean that all alcoholic drinks should also be banned, since alcohol in general can contribute to such incidents. If the justification is banditry, then a stronger argument would be required, especially considering that alcohol consumption is not supported in Islam. Does this imply that bandits, including groups like Boko Haram, consume alcoholic drinks? If the concern were drug abuse, that would be more understandable, as past arrests and interviews have shown links between certain drugs and criminal activities. As for suicide, I do not believe that this alone is sufficient reason to ban satchet alcoholic drinks. If that was the case, then all alcoholic drinks would need to be banned, because an addict does not discriminate when seeking for an alcoholic drinks to take That is my humble opinion. |
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooners!! I'm so happy even though we still have a long way to go. |
Because the hen that lays the golden egg is doing exclusive and need to be fed well. Unfortunately, what her body needs are expensive and that equally has affected the egg as well. |
Mynd44:Even though you have an ulterior motive for this question, yes he is. He eventually apologised and went as far as inviting him to his house. Btw, are you still one of the moderators? If yes, you are meant to be impartial in your judgement. Your actions say otherwise. |
The way we Nigerians carry this war for head. Very soon the prices of pms and other products will increase courtesy of this war. Just look at the way the whole world is affected by this war. I hope there won't be another economic depression as experienced under George Bush. It's not going to be funny considering the amount of debt being owed by this present government. |
I'm impressed with what I'm seeing. |
Parachoko:Whoever mixed your medication with c.ana no try at all. ![]() |
It's not advisable to have access to your phone while drinking. This is the result. |

See person face like stone cold. A teacher for that matter. Hustle oo. Make poverty and desperation no push you to talk wetin you no fit defend. |
Some of those criticising him for buying a car for his mum instead of his dad might do the very same thing if they were given the opportunity. Dear men, I have come to realise that some of us spend all our time hustling to provide for our families, yet we hardly spend time with them. That period of bonding, especially when the children are young and tender, is extremely important. No amount of money can replace presence. Make out time to be with your children. Be present. Pay their school fees yourself when you can, attend their events, keep records, and let them see your involvement. These little things matter more than we often realise. When a man dedicates all his time solely to hustling and leaves the emotional and visible responsibilities to someone else, the narrative can easily be controlled by that person. In unhealthy situations, a spouse may present herself as the only one carrying the burden, even when that is not the full picture. Over time, this can shape how children perceive their father. Provision is important, but presence is powerful. Children need both. Till date, I have not forgotten my experience with my dad to British council, Enugu. Create fond memories with them and when they grow up, they won't forget it. |
Otilo for lecturer, HoD and any other person directly involved. The lecturer may be suspended if care is not taken. The others may be placed on half salary. The HoD is supposed to vet question papers after submission. If had done this properly, they should have spotted the mistake or anomaly on time. |
This is totally wrong. Live and let's live. That should be the mantra. |
Nigeria will stain your white. Such a beautiful lady gone like that with her potentials. |
When you force boys and girls into men and women's affairs, this is the result. Tell me, what's 19 Yr old teen doing in a marriage. Marriage no be beans. You need to be emotionally, psychologically and financially ready. The first two are very important. Women can be dramatic and if you don't have the emotional intelligence to follow them na big wahala. Rest in peace to them. |
It's necessary to avoid had I known type of situation. If you don't understand forget about it. ![]() |
If you can record that threat or evidence, that's seven years in prison. |
Among my four children, only one truly gave us a serious scare, our first child. He was stooling and vomiting. As first-time parents, we had no idea what to do. We panicked and rushed him to the hospital. The paediatrician we met prescribed medication, but he was responding very slowly, and that worsened our fear. Out of desperation, we started consulting some of our friends and neighbours who already had children. Everyone had a suggestion. Some advised us to give him Flagyl and anti-vomiting drugs. Others recommended buying oral rehydration solution. We tried what we could, yet he continued vomiting and stooling. Thank God for breast milk. My wife was practising exclusive breastfeeding, and that helped sustain him through that difficult period. One particular night was the worst. His condition seemed to deteriorate, and my wife broke down in tears. I kept reassuring her that everything would be fine, even though I was equally afraid. The financial strain added to the emotional stress because we had not planned for such an emergency. The next day, we rushed back to the hospital. After examining him, the doctor noted that his face had become pale, with clear signs of dehydration owing to the vomiting and stooling. He immediately recommended that he be placed on intravenous fluids along with injections. Within three days, he made a remarkable recovery. We continued giving him teething medication afterwards, and soon enough, his teeth began to come in gradually. By May this year, he will turn eight. |
Disrespect! No matter what, don't ever disrespect me. I can tolerate every other thing but not this one. |
Berankis:I knew something was wrong. They were really proactive at the initial stage they started. May be the approval for State police may help.to bring them back. |
It's been long I heard of Amotekun. I thought this is one of the reasons they were created. That initial support from South West governors are no more there. Unfortunately, some of the people behind the project such as the late governor of Ondo State are no more alive or in position of power. |
This is highly impressive and affordable. Aba to Umuahia at N800 is highly affordable. Currently N1500 if you are using commercial transport. Umuahia to Ohafia at N1000. Wow! The current cost to Ohafia with other transport companies is almost N5000 It will definitely impact on people's lives positively. That's what governance should be. |
I joined Nairaland in 2009, and I can confidently say this is not the same Nairaland I once knew. It is not the platform I proudly introduced to my dad and some of my siblings. It is not the forum that I used to recommend to our students whenever I want to give them examples of online forum. What makes it to the front page these days is quite disappointing. There was a time when informative and educative content dominated the space. That seems to be fading. The moderators really need to step up. Some appear politically biased or otherwise, and that raises concerns about fairness. How can moderation truly be impartial when personal leanings seem to influence decisions? |
Thus need to be invited by DSS. There're certain statements that shouldn't be made especially in this politically charged environment. |
His name is Alireza Arafi and he's is not the supreme leader. Rather he was appointed to join the decision making body- leadership council which is made of the president, judiciary and Parliament pending when decision is made. |
That's cross carpeting ![]() |
Iran should stop attacking Kuwait, Dubai, Bahrain etc. The idea of if we must go down, others will join will not augur well at all. |
How dem they talk am self 'small body dey shake' ![]() |
From the question alone, it's obvious the journalist has an ulterior motive. |
I'm so happy even though we still have a long way to go.
