This is tantamount to receive a package without making effort to know what is inside. |
Whitemanbongo:None. |
This kind of information is capable of creating problem for us at the international arena. You don't wake up and start producing doctors. They have to undergo training for them to become better doctors. Dishing out this type of information may give impression that we are after quantity rather than quality. Instead, government on her part should create more medical departments and employ qualified teachers that will guide this student on the necessary rudimentary processes. |
The last salary was paid on the 1st of this month. Our salaries will either be paid today or tomorrow. |
When will all this rubbish stop? If the governor is not physically and mentally strong to lead, he should make way for his deputy. |
Why now? The current Minister of Education, Tahir Mamman, was once the vice-chancellor of the Baze University. Why didn't he use his position to correct the anomaly. Again he was once the Director General of the Nigerian law school. How come they didnt point out the anomaly as that time. Why now? |

I was asked to buy augmentin for my wife. On getting to the pharmacy, I was told the price is now 14000. I quickly did about turn. Even the doctor was shocked on hearing the news. He had to quickly prescribe a more affordable but effective antibiotics. Mehn, if things should continue this way it's not going to be funny for the common man especially for those suffering from ' Egyptian sickness'. |
Sam Altman will return as CEO of OpenAI, the startup said early Wednesday morning on X, formerly known as Twitter. The move follows immense pressure from employees and investors on the board that ousted him less than a week ago. Former Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers will join OpenAI’s board, the Microsoft-backed startup said, with Taylor holding the chair position. Adam D’Angelo, co-founder and CEO of question-and-answer startup Quora, will remain on the board. “We are collaborating to figure out the details. Thank you so much for your patience through this,” OpenAI said in the X post. On Monday, hundreds of employees, including co-founder and board member Ilya Sutskever, signed a letter saying that, if the board didn’t resign and bring Altman back, the overwhelming majority would move to work with him at Microsoft. Satya Nadella, Microsoft’s CEO, said in an X post on Monday that Altman and his co-founder Greg Brockman would join Microsoft to form a new AI lab. That followed an announcement late Sunday that OpenAI had hired ex-Twitch CEO Emmett Shear as Altman’s interim replacement. Originally, the board had said OpenAI technology chief Mira Murati would assume that role, but she soon joined the parade of employees calling for Altman’s return. “with the new board and w satya’s support, i’m looking forward to returning to openai, and building on our strong partnership with msft,” Altman wrote in a post of his own on X. “Returning to OpenAI & getting back to coding tonight,” Brockman wrote in an early Wednesday X post. Immediately after OpenAI’s board announced Altman’s firing, prominent Silicon Valley investors and founders loudly voiced their concerns and even compared the move to Apple’s decision 38 years ago to fire Steve Jobs. In 1997, Jobs would return and eventually lead Apple to create the iPhone and become the most valuable company in the U.S. “What happened at OpenAI today is a Board coup that we have not seen the likes of since 1985 when the then-Apple board pushed out Steve Jobs,” longtime startup investor Ron Conway said in an X post. “It is shocking; it is irresponsible; and it does not do right by Sam & Greg or all the builders in OpenAI.” Former Google CEO Eric Schmidt called Altman a “hero of mine,” who built a company that “changed our collective world forever.” Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky described Altman as “one of the best founders of his generation.” And venture capitalist Vinod Khosla said he is a “once in a generation CEO.” Nadella, who made a surprise appearance earlier this month at OpenAI’s developer conference, was reportedly surprised and upset by the announcement. His company has invested billions of dollars in OpenAI and is a close technology partner, hosting hefty GPT workloads on its Azure cloud infrastructure. “This was the pathway that maximized safety alongside doing right by all stakeholders involved,” Shear said in an early Wednesday X post. “I’m glad to have been a part of the solution.” https://www.cnbc.com/2023/11/22/openai-brings-sam-altman-back-as-ceo-days-after-ouster.html |
I'm not from Abia State but I live in Abia State with my family. Believe me when I say the present administration led by Alex Otti is the best thing to have happened to Abians. The man is really good. Workers unlike before get their salaries. Go to Aba and I see what that man is doing in terms of road construction. By next year Umuahia capital will definitely experience a massive transformation. |
Nigeria 'happened' to him. |
Henryjp:Let's hope for the best. |
It doesn't matter whether you are in Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt or Enugu. Na the same cry everywhere. Common food is no longer common for an average man. 'Give us this day, our daily bread'. Unfortunately, bread has become a luxury food. A painter of garri now above 1500. Some of the promises made by the government to workers are yet to fulfilled and you expect the workers to keep calm Ironically, the same government asking us to endure keeps channelling billions to their own personal pocket. Just read today government directives to RMAFC to increase the salaries of judges. |
OAFMods:It's quite unfortunate how we introduce tribalism in every comment we make on this forum. My dear brother that pain can only kill me if this post was made from an insincere heart. Unlike you, I'm not going to wish you bad that's not part of my upbringing. I was going through 'spaghetti', trending on twitter when I came across this post. Same thing I would have said irrespective of the tribe. We need to learn that Nigerian politicians that don't give a f***k about us. You don't know me neither do I know you. The same thing that happened on that twitter post is exactly what you are doing to me right now (the same economic reality is affecting you and I but not the politicians). But unlike you, I would rather prefer to channel that energy to something positive. It's not worth it. |
I feel pained seeing twitter post such as this. Look at how Politics has succeeded in dividing us instead of uniting us. It's well.

In fairness to Yorubas, I know of so many Yorubas who didn't vote for this present administration. Infact, a colleague of mine was seriously angry at the assumption that all the Yorubas voted for Tinubu. It is quite unfortunate that we have decided to associate or introduce tribalism in the last election. No matter how you see it, the truth remains that so many persons in the last election wanted a change (irrespective of tribe) which unfortunately didn't not manifest. That would have given us the opportunity to correct some ills experienced from the previous government. From the look of things, I don't see that changing. Same story. The rich getting rich at expense of the masses. When Obama came into power in 2009, the economy was in a total mess. He had to cut down to a large extent the cost of governance. He brought efficiency and effectiveness in the way things were down. This government need to find an efficient and effective way to manage the economy of this country by cutting down on the cost of governance. This should be done before it becomes too late. |
Peter Obi's wife is from Akwa Ibom My former neighbour, Kingsley, his wife is from Akwa Ibom. |
Irrespective of party affiliations, the highest bidder always wins the election and this is usually determined by party in power except for some few cases. |
There will always be that woman that is incomparable to other women - your wife. I'm happy to see Davido and Chioma happy together irrespective of side distractions. |
Keep them on their toes. |
The federal government recently announced the award of 35k palliative to all Federal government workers pending the agreement on the minimum wage. This announcement has suddenly led to hike in the price of commodities. For instance, a painter of beans in my area is now 3000. A liter of fuel is now between 600 and 700. A kg of gas is now between 1000 and 1200. A bag of rice is gradually getting to 60k per bag. etc. The most unfortunate thing is that some federal workers are yet to see the 35k palliative. Some state government just managed to add a little token to their workers' salaries. With the way Nigeria is going currently, I wonder how some families manage to cope in this hard times. Government is not helping matters. The same government asking you to endure is allocating billions to herself and cronies. |
Time to increase school fees. |
Okoroawusa:Quite unfortunate for him. |
They call him Darlo. I came to know about this man during the election period. Alot of good things were said about him including numerous projects he embarked on. I pray and hope he wins at the supreme Court. Oops! I didn't know the matter wont get to the Supreme Court. Quite unfortunate for him. |
