Heard our Wellington kid in Brazil is doing good though he's been playing as sub coming on in the last ten mins of his clubs games. |
Dayo, what did you expect him to say ? His wages are paid by Ribery's home country. Chico la pimpo is not not a shame, utter disgrace that the best Milan player can't even make the provisional squad for his country not to even mention the real world cup squad ? |
dayokanu:Ribery went with malicious intent, there's a big difference between 1st degree murder and involuntary Man slaughter ![]() |
Dayo just heard about Ribery, please accept my consolences |
Say this guy was not caught in the act, he'd be a legislator by next year giving hell to Oshiomole. On the other hand i'm just wondering if the FG has ever considered drugs as an alternative source of income to oil ? |
hermosa:My good citizen i don't know what you mean by that but you have to understand that sahara reporters have performed admirably in the short time they've been in existence. They provided citizen Mutallab's pix, gave us an insight into the Yaragate conspiracy and even were among the first to tell us of Dora's memo. |
I now understand it when some people say many NLers post from abroad and don't know didley squat about Nigeria. What is 6k a month for stable electricity ? Many of those people who live in face-me-i-face-yous have i-pass-my-neighbours running on petrol bought at 70 naira per liter if you don't know . Even unemployed Nigerians who sell recharge cards and charge phone batteries for a living have gen. sets which they also have to service regularly. Look at the rubbish some ignoram(uses)i are saying here, that 6k is too much to pay so the plan is not viable Did anyone ever tell you that 6k was the flat rate ? Nigerians already pay some of the highest rates for phone calls so what are you on about ? |
@ OP, do you know how much the FG spends on subsidizing fuel annually ? Any one who has those figures should please present so we can all see the monumental savings we'll be making just for spending 3 years worth of oil subsidies on a really brilliant project. Remaining in the status quo is actually where the corruption is. |
He declared, “Naturally, heIt would be the greatest gift to Nigeria for Jonathan to run and make the dream of all realists come true, BREAK THE COUNTRY UP ALREADY. |
This is what i worship these days
|
^ google the name of all 36 govs in Nigeria and see how many of them spring up save for Fashola and a few others i can count with the fingers on my left hand. The hausas who are trembling now know that their source of livelihood is leaving for Abuja, all Patrick Yakowa will be doing is changing the direction where the money has been flowing to, no more no less. We'll see new contractors and new commissioners coming on board to take their own share, pastors will replace imams as beneficiaries of the states freebies. |
@topic hope you know there're people who'd end your over 72 virgins, let's leave those guys alone they're hurting no one ![]() @elrazur why don't you join me in my new religion. We'll worship either Seun, kosovo, aisha2 or just plain old Nairaland ROTF ![]() |
The amount of dodgy decisions Bayern have benefited from this season is mind boggling. Look at the phantom goal against Fiorentina, the red card Man U's Silva got for barely touching Ribery and now this mysterious penalty against Bremen. It's a shame, SHAME ! SHAME !! SHAME !!! |
Phd. has a global standard and is not a Nigerian thing. Go to anywhere in world, Trevor Manuel in South Africa to even Ghana, you just don't bring someone in from anywhere cos they've distinguished themselves in business- which Sanusi didn't do by the way. If you're bringing people who've distinguished themselves then we'd be hearing Coscharis, Dangote, Okoya et al. Becoming head of such economic institutions is a totally different ball game from growing a business if not people like Oprah, P. Diddy and Jay Z would be contenders to become chairman of the Federal reserve |
^^ Nigerians and their proclivity to worship god or anything. They don't care what the message or ideology is but they still must worship god and he will bring about a better life for us all. God dey |
Gordon Brown with a Phd. in history and 5 years as shadow minister was still considered as unsuitable for the job of chancellor of exchequer, he still held the job for ten years and England experienced considerable growth in that period. You cannot come here and tell us banks in America and the Uk also had a rough time last year so we shouldn't expect Nigeria to be different. Thing is most of the Western world was in recession last year while Nigeria had a GDP growth of almost 7%. Sub saharan Africa on the whole didn't do too badly except for south-Africa which had about two bad quarters, but even there the banks came out with good results. In Nigeria anything goes, that's why a pharmacist is Information minister, we've had political lobbyists become Aviation and transport ministers. The result of this is : 1. While countries like Ghana, Ethiopia and Kenya have national carriers Nigeria doesn't. 2. Rail services, an integral part of economic growth is totally absent. 3. Poor information management system in the country. I'm one of those that will go to hell and back to support what befell Cecilia and co but i also can't deny the fact that Sanusi shouldn't be the one doing the job. |
I know it might sound funny right now, but these people are breeding more and more of these things in their communities in sokoto, kano, zamfara, bauchi et al and exporting them to progressive communities. Just see what they are turning jos into, personally i can't wait for kaduna state to be divided so my people to can expunge them from our midst. They don't want to be educated or contribute to development and that to me is utterly unacceptable, eventually Nigeria must be divided so they can continue in what ever manner they desire and it is imperative that all forward thinkers understand this. THERE IS NO ONE NIGERIA. For a people to be one they have to share the same values and aspirations, i want my children to go to school and grow in a free developed society. |

I still stand by my word that Cecilia and co should be sanctioned. But by God, do you guys actually mean the CBN gov of Nigeria is a product of religious studies, Msc ? Back in school lecturers couldn't even become HOD without a Phd. |

Prince kevo are you sure of what you're saying ? I know a couple of folks who just travelled and returned from China a few weeks ago. Anyways which country doesn't make it hard for Nigerians to get entry visas ? Yesterday i read that 5 Nigerian drug lords were arrested in Zambia of all places. On the funny side these guys have a way of telling stories with pix ![]()

Time after time i see Nigerians taken for granted when such projections are made regarding what we can afford. But we already know that : 1. We pay some of the highest rates for phone calls on the continent already. 2. We pay the highest rate for fuel amongst OPEC. 3. Being the 2nd largest importer of cement(2007 figures) on the planet, we still pay expensively for it. So it baffles me when people use the price of electricity to deny Nigerians of this necessity. Paddylo are you telling Ghanians can afford electricity but we cannot ? ![]() |
How did i miss this, Some people are actually asking where states without gas or coal will their fuel for power generation from ? ARE YOU GUYS FOR REAL lol.Where does the kaduna refinery get crude oil from ? |
Go and check any real economy in this world and tell me where provision of such essential services like water, light, health, telcom and transport is left entirely in the hands of the private sector. By decentralising power generation serious minded states like lagos that already have a plan on what they want to do will be able to carry out their industrialisation process without being buoyed down by other parts of the country that are clueless and depend on the center for everything. About the telecoms sector, that to me is even an embarrassment. Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world where organisations leave mobile phone nos as contact nos. Do we even have 911 or 991 ? |
I think this is a wonderful idea. While serving in minna i was really unimpressed by the constant black outs, i know for a fact the govt house would go for hours everyday on gen. The absurd thing is that Niger state has got shiroro and Kainji dams which are probably two of Africas most impressive hydro plants. I never went to any of them but corp members who visited shiroro said you'd be awed at the magnificence of the edifice. And that's the irony of Nigeria all over, crude oil but no petrol, dams but no electricity, land but no rail roads. I'm beginning to think we all have a bit of cabal in all of us. |
What Sanusi did nd wat he saidSimply put, investing in the stock market is Good, but buying those stocks with bank loans with the insane idea that stock prices will appreciate for ever is lunacy. |
Please understand the man. WhatPertaining to the bolded parts, either two different people wrote what you just posted or you're adept in the art of contradicting ones self. You just talked about Dangote and others creating wealth and dismissed money invested in the stock market as playing no role in wealth creation. Now if i might ask you, where do you think the money for building Dangote sugar refinery and Obajana plant from ? From sugar cane and suya sellers i presume. If you don't know anything about money i'll tell you something, if i've got 1 million naira in my pockets right now that money is no where near as valualable to Nigeria's economy if it remains there than the one naira i put into the stock market. Do you even know the different functions and services the stock market provides to different interests ? Buying stocks is more or less intelligent gambling, can you believe this guy ? Better not let anyone in that business see that statement. Is everyone in the stock market for the same reason ? NO . Is there any investment on gods earth without risk ? NO. Even land could lose it's value overnight if you don't that. |
Gloria Okon and Maman Vatsa, names that keep springing up any time IBB is mentioned. But for the love of . . . . ,do you actually mean IBB bled this economy by as much as $35billion ? Does any know the implication and effect of this on this country ? OP i'd like to get the source of this material. |
The very first time you're holding the right end of the stick.
And what exactly are you saying ? @paddylo , i agree with you when you say the CBN is as guilty of the crime as the people it accusing, so may be we should see some heads rolling in that direction too. But that again doesn't translate into what this banks did going unpunished, with the litte i know about corporate governance i know it's a crime against humanity for heads of companies to grant themselves uncollateralised loans- just one of the many charges. On the otherside i personally think that SLS is not qualified to be governor, i reiterate that this is my personal opinion. Internally there were people like Dr. Obadiah Mailafiya, former CBN dep. Gov, who i think would have been more suited for the position if Soludo was no longer the toast of the presidency. But then again i can only speak of people i know of. The posts of Minister of Finance, planning & statistics and CBN gov are the most sensitive in a developing economy but we can see how they play politics over here. I wouldn't mind foreigners manning those positions if need be . |
Nobody has still come out with any evidence to show that Cecilia, Erastus and co did not grossly flout financial lending codes by their actions. They made crazy money illegally and there's no country on earth where they wouldn't be in prison. 2. Sanusi is saying they, "manipulated the system" in their bid to redistribute wealth. Now, when you sell a stake in your company to innocent investors and months later declare phantom/false profits that keep driving the price of those stocks upwards(which is an outright lie and deliberate attempt to deceive), is that not financial fraud ? Market dealers round the always try to manipulate the system to their advantage and it is the duty of regulators to protect the investment naive people like me from exploitation. As we speak the American arm of Olusegun Aganga's former employers are being investigated from making money at the cost of innocent people. Though both cases aren't similar, i still think what happened in Nigeria is far worse than what happened in the US. |
What's all this talk about the price of oil ? My boys Ahmedinajat and Chavez have this situation on a lock down, they can send it swinging the other way with just 5 words. |
