Investment bankers are urging Ghanaians to take advantage of the lower share prices on
the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) to buy stocks of listed companies for future gains.
With only a handful of listed companies doing well on the bourse this year, stock prices have been plummeting since the beginning of the year with many investors shying away from the equities market.
The GSE Composite Index (GSE-CI) stood at 1,787.50 points as at June 30, down from 2,352.23 points at the same time in 2015 with total market capitalisation dropping from GH¢64.62billion to GH¢54.79billion over the 12-month period.

Hundreds of people lined the streets of the Bosnian capital Sarajevo on
Saturday to bid farewell to the recently identified remains of more than 120 people murdered in the 1995 Srebrenica massacre.
The bodies of the 127 victims began their final journey from the central Bosnian city of Visoko on Saturday morning on a truck covered with a large national flag and laden with flowers.

The Food and Drug Authority (FDA) is threatening to prosecute palm oil
producers found to have adulterated their products with Sudan IV dye. This is part of the authority’s resolve to rid the markets of all adulterated palm oil.
In August 2015, the authority warned the public against the consumption of palm oil on the market after 98 percent of palm oil samples from markets tested positive for the deadly Sudan IV dye.
The FDA has since carried out intensive surveillance in all major markets nationwide to clamp down on adulterated product and declared the product safe for consumption.Communications Director for the FDA, James Lartey told Citi news that “we picked up samples from the various markets and tested them.
