Politics / President Jonathan's Salary Revealed ( Photos) by edygistvilla(m): 12:49pm On Feb 25, 2015
For presiding over the affairs of Nigeria as its president in the last three years, you won’t believe how much President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed as salary.
Vanguard reports that in the last three years President Goodluck Jonathan has pocketed N43.231 million as salary while he had in the last three years, paid N6.264 million as tax to the country.
The years which the president earned the salary and paid the tax, according to document from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS, he released to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, were 2011, 2012 and 2013.
Vanguard also made it known that the document which was placed at the INEC office at Area 10, Abuja, showed that the president, in 2011, 2012 and 2013, received the said amount.
The document showed that the president’s salary stands at N14,410,290.48 per annum. The president also paid a total of N6,264,221.75 as tax in the years under review.
The income tax clearance certificate from the Federal Inland Revenue Service, Abuja, with Ref. No: ABJ/MDA/PAYE/09690150 and dated July 2, 2014, revealed that in the years 2011, 2012 and 2013, he received a total of N43,230,871.44 as salary.
While he paid N1,242,670.21 as tax in 2011,

President Jonathan paid N2,510,775.77 for 2012 and for 2013.
The document tagged:“To whom it may concern”, indicated that the president’s source of income was “employment”.
The clearance which was stamped and received in the Legal Services Department of INEC on December 18 2014 reads:
This is to certify that Dr. Jonathan, Ebele Goodluck (Presidency) has paid income tax assessment for the past three years.
The details of the president’s tax payment also showed that the president did not earn any other income besides his fixed income as president of the country in that period. There were no indications of income from stocks or other businesses that the president could have had.
Meanwhile, the Code of Conduct Bureau has cleared Vice President Namadi Sambo to contest the 2015 general elections.

Family / Nigerian Parents Give Birth To White Baby (Photos) by edygistvilla(m): 1:23am On Feb 25, 2015
When Angela Ihegboro first saw her newborn daughter, she was “speechless.”

“She’s a miracle baby,” the 35-year-old mother said yesterday. “But still, what on Earth happened here?”

What happened is that baby Nmachi is a blond, blue-eyed white baby born to two black Nigerian immigrant parents at a London hospital.
“The first thing I said was, ‘What the flip?’ ” said the father, Ben Ihegboro. “We both just sat there after the birth staring at her for ages — not saying anything.”

He quickly sought to dispel any speculation.
“Of course she is mine. My wife is true to me,” the 44-year-old customer service adviser said. “Even if she hadn’t been, the baby still wouldn’t look like that.”

Genetics experts don’t believe in miracles, but they didn’t have any simple answers to the mystery of baby Nmachi. Instead, they offered three theories:

She’s the result of a gene mutation unique to her. If that is the case, Nmachi would pass the gene to her children — and they, too, would likely be white.
She’s the product of long-dormant white genes, passed on to her by her parents, that might have been carried by their predecessors for generations without surfacing until now.
While doctors have said Nmachi is not an outright albino, or lacking in all pigment, they added that the child may have some kind of mutated version of the genetic condition — and that her skin could darken over time.

Politics / APC Gets A Major Boost ;ACF Backs Buhari by edygistvilla(m): 9:20pm On Jan 14, 2015
The aspiration of the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Maj.Gen. Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), got a booston Wednesdaywith the umbrella body of the North, the Arewa Consultative Forum, throwing its weight behind him for theFebruary 14 election.
The Forum noted that the earlier endorsement of the former Head of State by its National Chairman and former Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie, was in order.
The Chairman had in the wake of the APC primary that brought about the candidacy of the former military ruler, said the region would support Buhari for theFebruary 14 election.
Coomasie’s statement appeared to have divided the Forum members on the grounds that they were yet to meet to arrived at such a decision.
On Wednesday, however, the ACF reaffirmed the position of its chairman.
It said, “That the NEC Chairman’s statement on the issue of the Forum supporting a northern candidate in the person of General Muhammadu Buhari is hereby reaffirmed.”
According to a communique signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Ibrahim, the Forum noted that it was part of its policy to support northerner in any presidential election.
The Forum, also warned against disenfranchising Nigerians in the next elections.
Part of the communique read, “It is the policy of the ACF to support any northerner in any presidential election.
“The ACF therefore wishes to reaffirm that statement and dissociates itself from any contrary statement issued by any other member of the Forum.
“The Chairman is constitutionally empowered to direct the affairs of the Forum in a manner that is in consonance with its aims, objectives and policies and also project the image of the Forum at all times.”
The Forum expressed concern over the continued insecurity in the country, particularly in the North-East states of Adamawa, Borno and Yobe.

Literature / Hope, A Poem By Edygistvilla by edygistvilla(m): 10:24am On Dec 14, 2014
Give a me a reason
Why we shouldn't hope
Things will get better
If we believe and conceive in our very heart
And works towards it without doubt

Our heart and hands
Works better this consolation remains in our heart
Like ship leaving its berth
Sorrows and pains will depart from us
Because hope brings passion and inspiration

The noise of war
The cry of children
The blood of solder and civilians alike
The pains and pangs of war
Can be consoled and it effect cushioned with hope

We yearn for a world
Where the principle of equality is paramount
And wealth will be shared evenly
And war and anguish will be a forgotten mischief
If we never stop believing and dreaming
It can be achievable and feasible
Poems For Review / Life! A Poem By Edygistvilla by edygistvilla(m): 10:12am On Dec 14, 2014
Life! Nothing but a walking shadow
partial and wicked with irregularities like the meadows
Pains like a needle in wounds
And non soothing like sounds of no consolation
What is pains other than our lives
What is wounds rather than the tears we shed
We may live like this for long
But There's a pause called victory
Like an oasis is differentiate desert from farmland
Hunger from satisfaction
Fruitful from barren
Lack from surplus
A cheap consolation satisfying our expired need and unchanging greed and desire

Life! It is full of miseries like a pack of card with only aces
It takes trillion years to understand the prelude
Another billion years to comprehend the interlude
Years and years roaming on the crossroad of mind
Can't solve the deep puzzle in the drama of life
Is it crossword of our aspirations or destiny?
Or jigsaws of our thoughts, ideas, concept and prospects?
The things we shall never know that is within us
Our strengths and weaknesses
Our ups and downs
Our victories and failures
Our inabilities and abilities
Our losts and profits
Our tears and laughter
Our frown and smiles
Even actions and things we portray we are ignorant of these
in the game of life, defeat may be a consolation
Success may be a Greek gift
Flaws we never created
Dreams we never create
Still revolve around us
Like we are casts in a movie
And the script already written
Ours is to act
'No mind tragedy or comedy'
Like pinnochio and the host of the Disney
Our mind have been trained to forecast for seasons
But if we try to live other than it...that's treason
That why people suffer...others feasting

Nairaland / General / 19 Most Inspirational Mandela's Quote by edygistvilla(m): 2:33am On Dec 06, 2014
As the world celebrates the one year of the passing on of the legend and anti-apartheid hero,The lion of Africa and The first black president of south Africa, Nelson Mandela. He lived life on the principle of struggle, freedom and total elimination of discrimination of Blacks worldwide. Indeed, Madiba left his footprints on the sands of time due to his countless achievement and very few men have touched the world as He did. He has been an inspiration and a success lesson to Many worldwide...
To pay homage to this great hero...I present top 19 Mandela's quote...I hope this will inspire us to keep the ball rolling and never quench the fire of hardwork, resilience and determination.

During his lifetime Mandela inspired us with his numerous
words of wisdom, etched in our memories till tomorrow. And his
words remain evergreen:
1. I am fundamentally an optimist. Whether that comes from
nature or nurture, I cannot say. Part of being optimistic is
keeping one’s head pointed toward the sun, one’s feet
moving forward. There were many dark moments when my
faith in humanity was sorely tested, but I would not and
could not give myself up to despair. That way lays defeat
and death.
2. I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the
triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel
afraid, but he who conquers that fear.
3. Difficulties break some men but make others. No axe is
sharp enough to cut the soul of a sinner who keeps on
trying, one armed with the hope that he will rise even in the
end.
4. It always seems impossible until it’s done.
5. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his
people and his country, he can rest in peace.
6. Real leaders must be ready to sacrifice all for the freedom of
their people.
7. A fundamental concern for others in our individual and
community lives would go a long way in making the world
the better place we so passionately dreamt of.
8. Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve
success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what
they do.
9. Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use
to change the world.
10. For to be free is not merely to cast off one’s chains, but to
live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of
others.
11. Do not judge me by my successes, judge me by how many
times I fell down and got back up again.
12. There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling
for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.
13. Money won’t create success, the freedom to make it will.
14. We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is
always ripe to do right.
15. Man’s goodness is a flame that can be hidden but never
extinguished
16. Resentment is like drinking poison and then hoping it will
kill your enemies.
17. I like friends who have independent minds because they
tend to make you see problems from all angles.
18. A good head and a good heart are always a formidable
combination.
19. When people are determined they can overcome anything.
Health / 10 Things To Stop Doing If You Want To Live Longer by edygistvilla(m): 11:42am On Dec 04, 2014
There are a number of things you can put on your to-do list in an effort to live longer, whether you’re in your 20s or 30s, all the way to your 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond. In fact, research has shown it's never too late to start healthy habits.
But what about the things you might stop doing -- in the name of your longevity?

1 . Stop eating mainly processed foods

One of the major dietary changes that’s taken place in many countries over the last 30 years has been a shift to consuming more processed foods. Along with processing comes an increase in added sodium, more saturated fat, more sugar, and less fibre. The result? More cardiovascular disease, hypertension, cancer, and diabetes.
For example, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) recommends consuming no more than 2,300 mg (less than 2.4g) of sodium each day -– less for many seniors and other people with certain health conditions, like high blood pressure. Still, in a survey of more than 7,000 Americans, the Centres for Disease Control (CDC) found people consume an average of 3,300 mg of sodium per day. Most of the salt comes from restaurant and convenience foods, like baked goods, cured meats and soup.
Do your body a favour, and try to eat "clean" more often, including foods high in fibre(which are linked to greater longevity) and other ingredients you purchase and prepare yourself. If you’re short on time (and who isn’t?), cook ahead in big batches, or splurge on ready-made salads and other fresh or frozen vegetables, while watching the sodium and sugar contents on the label.
2 . Stop smoking

If you’re a smoker, you know how hard quitting can be, but here’s some inspiration: The NIH says tobacco use remains the most preventable cause of death. Some estimates suggest smoking can rob you of a decade of life.
Whether you quit cold-turkey or phase out your habit, your body is surprisingly forgiving; blood pressure and circulation improve soon after quitting, and your risk of getting cancer decreases every year thereafter. Keep in mind that your family members will also benefit from your staying tobacco-free because they'll no longer be exposed to dangerous second-hand smoke. You'll look younger, too.

3 . Stop sitting still

If you don’t feel you have time to exercise, consider this: You may not need to hit the global minimum recommendations of 30 minutes a day, five or more times per week, to extend your life. A huge study published in 2011 in The Lancet, examining the activity habits of more than 416,000 men and women in Taiwan, found that getting just 15 minutes of moderate- intensity exercise each day helped subjects live three extra years. The longevity boost went up to four years of longer life for people achieving the threshold of 30 minutes a day. The results held true even for those with health problems like cardiovascular disease -- and for overweight people who didn’t lose any pounds through their activity.
Brisk walking was one of the "moderate intensity" exercises cited in the Taiwanese research. You might have to make a conscious effort to work it into your daily routine, but 15 minutes of activity for an extra 3 years of life sounds like a longevity bargain.

4 . Stop holding a grudge
Anger can be a tough emotion to release, especially if you feel justified in your outrage. Maybe the best question to ask yourself is this -– is it worth the cortisol? Levels of this stress hormone go up when you’re stressed or angry, with negative effects on your heart, metabolism, and immune system. High cortisol has been associated with greater mortality in a number of studies.
Learning to forgive takes practice, but your body will thank you for it.

5 . Stop keeping to yourself

Staying social can be a good longevity booster, mostly by helping you manage stress and by strengthening your immune system. Good relationships keep you strong, while bad relationships can leave you in a negative frame of mind, and put you at risk of depression and even heart attacks.
Staying connected can be a tough one if you are feeling down, have lost someone close to you, or live far away from extended family and friends. There are ways to re-engage and meet new people even if you are in a new city, including volunteering and reaching out to others with similar interests through networks like business groups and book clubs.

6 . Stop thinking that only big changes count

Sweeping, radical changes in lifestyle might be inspiring, but they can also be too daunting -– and therefore, short-lived -- for ordinary mortals. The next time you resolve to eat healthier or exercise more, try aiming low! Try choosing just one small change at a time, like getting up ten minutes earlier in the morning to fix yourself a healthy lunch for work, instead of a major life makeover. Like the exercise advice above shows, even short spurts of activity each day can reap big benefits for your lifespan.
Small shifts can fly under your own radar, adding up to big benefits over time without causing stress in your busy world. Consistency is more important than a short-term, grand gesture. Besides, looking at what’s already working in your day-to-day routine can help you feel energised and motivated to tweak a little more in a healthy direction.

7 . Stop letting fear (or denial) keep you from being healthy

Of all the personality traits that could affect your longevity, conscientiousness consistently ranks as an important one, perhaps the most important one. Why? Well, conscientious people tend to engage in healthy behaviours like eating well, exercising, and following their doctors’ advice, while avoiding risky behaviours like smoking and driving too fast. However, don’t confuse being conscientious or diligent with being neurotic about your health, a trait that may be linked to negative emotions like anxiety, anger and depression. A simplified example might be that a neurotic person worries he might have cancer, and fearing the worst, doesn’t go to his doctor. By contrast, a conscientious person may still worry, but gets screened or tested, learns about the disease, and gets treated in a timely fashion.

8 . Stop cheating your night's sleep

The amount of sleep you get can affect your lifespan, and not just because a sleepy driver is at risk of a car accident. In epidemiological studies, sleeping too little (fewer than 6 hours) or substantially more (over 9 hours) has been shown to put people at greater risk of death. Quality of life is also on the line: A good night’s sleep can help you ward off stress, depression, and heart disease.
You can learn to fall asleep more quickly and take measures that can help, like keeping your bedroom dark and distraction-free, and having the temperature on the cool side. Meditation exercises can set the stage for a good night’s sleep, and an inexpensive noise machinecan help with relaxing sounds. If you’re still having trouble getting to sleep, or staying asleep, see your health provider for further help.

9 . Stop stressing
Like anger, stress takes its toll on your body and may actually shorten your life. By trying to reduce stress, you can improve your health in the long-term, and quality of life in the meantime.
Journalingor writing in a diary, meditating, and learning to relaxare wonderful ways to de-stress. Working in just a few minutes of meditation a day –- even at your desk -- can give your brain the mini-vacation from anxiety and tension it needs.

10 . Stop relying on -- or blaming -- your genes

Having parents, grandparents, or other family members live into their nineties and beyond might suggest that you will too, but don’t rely too heavily on that family history. Studies conducted on twins in Scandinavia suggest that geneticsmay be responsible for only about a third of your longevity potential. This is, of course, good news for those of us without that exceptional ancestry. Environmental and lifestyle factors like diet, how much exerciseyou get, whether you’re exposed to workplace toxins, how much stress you experience, how conscientious you are about medical tests and screenings, and even the strength of your social relationships all play a huge role in how fast you ageand how long you might live. Besides, why focus on the genetics you can’t control, when the factors you can will benefit from your attention?

Crime / Man Burns Nine-year-old Son For Allegedly Stealing Biscuit by edygistvilla(m): 2:39am On Jan 06, 2014
A 36-year-old man, Mohammed Suleiman, is being detained at the State Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigerian Police, Kogi State Command, for allegedly inflicting burns on the face and mouth of his nine-year-old son, Yakubu Mohammed.
The state command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Redengha Tampa, on Sunday said Suleiman used a log of burning firewood to inflict the burns on the victim because the lad had allegedly stolen some biscuits.
The police spokesman added that neighbours, who prevented Suleiman from inflicting more harm on Mohammed, reported the incident to the police, leading to the suspect’s arrest and detention. He added that the victim, who attends an Arabic school, was receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital.
Tampa said, “The suspect will be charged to court at the completion of our investigations.”
The PPRO also said that the police arrested another suspect, Elijah Adamu, with a polythene bag containing 264 rounds of AK47 live ammunition; 15 rounds of barretta pistol live ammunition and two empty AK47 magazines.
Tampa also stated that police officers from the command on New Year eve raided a hideout of an alleged notorious suspect, Zakari Yaro, at Anyigba.
He said, “Yaro has participated in many bank robbery operations. But the suspect fled on sighting the police.”
Tampa added that items recovered from the hideout were one English made single-barrelled gun, one AK47 rifle, three AK47 magazines with 18 rounds of AK47 live ammunition, a golf car with number plate, FD 373 ABC, and many household items, including a bag containing bags and shoes.
Tampa said, “Two young men also fought at Idanuha area of Ogaminana in Adavi Local Government Area of Kogi State and were arrested by the police for an offence of disturbance of public peace.
“When a search was conducted on them, two live cartridges were found in possession of one of them, Abubakar Sadiq.
“During interrogation, the suspect confessed that the objects were for his locally made pistol.
He subsequently led police to his house where the locally made pistol was recovered. Investigation is still in progress and the suspect will be charged to court on completion of investigation.”
The PPRO added police arrested two suspects, Isaac Dickson, and Abdullahi Amidu, for criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, house breaking, theft and being in possession of property reasonably suspected to be stolen.
Tampa stated that men of the command arrested some suspect over the clash of two masquarades on New Year eve.
The masquerades were said to have come from Okengwe and Obechira communities in Okene LGA of Kogi State. The clash allegedly led to the death of one Lamisi Ojo and destruction of property.
Nairaland / General / Re: MUST READ: My Encounter At Pastor Chris Okotie’s Church In Lagos by edygistvilla(m): 2:38pm On Jan 04, 2014
Please give it to you us,infact kill us Pastor i continued.
By now she had kept quiet and was watching me.
The whole church was in a frenzy, estatic ,singing and dancing.all dance steps were on display, skelewu, konkon below, kukere, name it,even apala dance join.ewooooo
Some were jumping up and down like people possessed by spirit. Some were even running from one end of the auditorium to another.
The beautiful ones that occupied all the front rows, stood up and were dancing close to the alter,as if to say Man Of God,we are still available o.
But chris Okotie must have been used to it because, he no even look their side. He was singing in languages that i never understood.
I even saw a popular actress among them
After over an hour of singing,Okotie now prayed for two nations,Nigeria and Israel (why Isreal,i don't know) but i heard those were the two countries he prays for weekly.
After the prayer which lasted for about five minutes, he entered gear two,he kpet on sining, singing, singing and sing.
Haba, which kain Church be this nah,no wonder all these people are trooping here, they came to see Okotie perform every week, definitely not his preaching.
After he must have satisfied himself, he now settle down to speak on the birth of Jesus Chris and the three wisemen that came to visit Joseph and Mary.
It's was easier to understand Patrick Obhiagbon and Wole Soyinka than listening to chris..At a point i i asked the babe beside me what chris just said, she said she didnt know,i then asked how,how come you were shouting Praise the Lord.
She told me that i just have to accept what he is saying with open minds without questioning.na him i tell am say ok,i hear.
The average age at the Church was 40 years.
chris Okotie has die-hard converts who from all indications are ready to do anything for him. he is to them,a role model of a sort.
The babes are well polished. Not the type you see at most of these orthodox churches like Anglican and Roman Catholic.
Okotie went on to say, Love without Money is not complete.
According to him, shower a woman with money and see how she ll cherish you for life.To him, love is not enough.it must be backed with money and big time gifts. According to him, that is why he buys the latest expensive cars.
When i asked the babe beside me who don dey already squeeze my hand whether she believe that, she said ofcourse,i can't go out with a guy that cannot take care of my needs. Who is not ready to change my car every other year
With that i kuku gradually remove my hand, before the girl go collect my car key and i come take leg waka go house.
She asked me if anything was wrong i told her no, that i was just feeling dizzy and would need some fresh air outside.
To add to my stress, chris Okotie now shared free birthday cakes for people born in different months of 2014 (yap 2014).
He only shared it among ladies; no single guy was allowed to pick a cake.
He also conducted quiz among us, he only allowed women to answer the quiz and each of them were given cakes and gifts.
Of the over 20 gifts chris Okotie gave away today,no single man or guy was given any.
He said his gifts were ONLY for women.
At that point, i knew i have over stayed my welcome. I told the babe that i wanted to go and take some fresh air outside; from there i disappeared and drove off.
It's obvious that chris Okotie and his babes still have a lot in common.
If you need fine babes,go to Household..If you need superlative Music, chris Okotie will give you several doses, but if you need serious preaching, i doubt if Pastor chris Okotie will be my first Church, maybe because of the big big grammar and effizy.

Nairaland / General / MUST READ: My Encounter At Pastor Chris Okotie’s Church In Lagos by edygistvilla(m): 2:36pm On Jan 04, 2014
When i decided to worship at Chris Okotie's Household of God on (Sunday 29th December 2013),i knew i was going to have a lifetime experience. I have heard so much about my namesake and his exploit that i was so eager to visit his sanctuary today. For those of you who do not know, Household of God is situated along Oregun road Ikeja Lagos.
Chris Okotie owns all the land and buildings on that street. His Church shares the same fence with Chris Oyakhilome's Christ Embassy Headquarters.
Arriving Church was easy.. I made my way into the Church after the normal searching at the gate. The first thing that will hit you, were the bouncers, whose chest were as huge as bags of cement, even the devil in his wisdom dare not make a move near that Church at this time.
The inside speaks of the taste of the man, sparkling, well decorated to taste.
Parked outside was not his new Rolls Royce but another Mercedes Benz Limousine with customized plate number.
As it is customary, my seat must be beside a fine babe. Kai, they were not in short supply at Household. Infact this Church has the highest concentration of fine babes that i have ever seen in any Church.
Chris Okotie must have selected them himself. The organizers of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria will envy what i saw today.
chris Okotie can successfully organize ten good pageants with what he has in that Church. He even said ,they accuse him of marrying fair babes.
See shape, tall, short, dark, fair, half caste see catwalk, see stepping, see mini skirts, see fine steps, see clean smooth skins. See nails,i say come see cloth. Brazillian hair,no be that type wey all those Lagos babes dey do under Ikeja bridge.
It was like a competition.
Abeg if you no get designer clothes ,shoes, bags etc no come Household, because, dem go think say you be steward or waitress.
After taking my seat, beside my lovely damsel,i quickly adjusted my lens and snap some pictures while people were settling down.
Within minutes,a very huge guy that will make Hulk Horgan look like a baby wrestler walked up to me asking me to follow him.
My heart sank, wetin i do now..who i offend, who send me make i come chris Okotie's Church..Na today i go see wetin my eyes dey look for.
I asked my latest catch to kindly look after my seat while i followed the guy outside

Okotie's Church on the day of visit
On getting there,i was shocked by what the Chief bouncer said.."CKN ,we know you. We ve monitored you since you entered this Church. We don't allow any camera work or taking of pictures in this Church or premises.. Please let me see the pictures you just snapped ,because our CCTV camera caught you taking pictures"..Who wan argue with this kin person..i opened my folder and showed him the singular picture on the folder..He asked me to delete it..which i did..His next words,"As i said CKN ,we like your job and what you are doing, just relax and have a nice service with us at Household, God bless, you can go back in but no more pictures please"
I was relieved, from that moment, i just respected chris Okotie and his security agents, these guys were not being paid for nothing.
On resuming my seat,my concentration now focused on the Service of songs which was being led by a lady..it lasted for close to an hour before the man of the moment finally came in, ushered in and surrounded by six huge bouncers, the type that will make Goodluck jonathan's guys look like kindergatens.
He made straight for the pulpit.Three of the bouncers took their positions in front of the alter, just like you saw in that picture that was in circulation last week.
Okotie looks more like a pop star than a pastor. He has not changed one bit from what i saw of him about ten years ago..His jerry curled hair was shinning. He wore a golden colour Jacket with black patches over a black trouser. You will mistake him for one of those Hollywood actors.
Immediately he picked the mic,he went into solo songs..Okotie does not have a choir or back up singers. He is the Choir,Choir master and chorister all put in one.His is the only Church i have visited that does not have a choir.
He was moving from one song to another, for over one hour he didn't stop.
I was forced to ask the babe beside me,if it was a service or Song festival. She didnt even bother to answer me, all she was saying was give it to me,give it to me Pastor,i can feel it ,give it to me as she sang along..Haaa,give it to you.give you what i asked..
She took a long look at me and continued in her frenzy,i say give it to me my pastor.Oti o.
This is another level, since i didnt want to be left behind,as Okotie was singing i joined her in saying,Give it to us,give it to us pastor, give it to us oooooo.biko give us,give her, give me too lalalalalala.
The lady suddenly stopped and pinched my hand .Keep quiet, you are not singing like someone that is in the spirit she told me.I asked her what she meant, after all i just wanted pastor chris to give it to us and you are asking me to keep quiet.

Religion / 'bloodshed Will Occur In Nigeria On January 25' - Prophet by edygistvilla(m): 2:27pm On Jan 04, 2014
There's this trend that's been on for sometime now where men of God at the beginning of the year, predict what will happen in the new year.
There has been a lot of prophecies already for this year 2014 and more are still coming up.
To join the list of Prophets who have prophesied about 2014 is funky man of God, Prophet (Dr) Chris Okafor, who is often referred to as 'oracle of God'. He is the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, aka Liberation City.
According to him, there would be bloodshed on Saturday, January 25, 2014. This he made known during the December 31, 2013 cross over service held at his church in Ojodu Berger, Lagos.
He said also that there will major bomb blasts in the country which will claim many lives, adding that these blasts will happen simultaneously.
More so, there will be major air disaster in the early month of the year. This air crash, as the man of God said, might claim the lives of many eminent Nigerians.
He explained that God warned that Nigerians should be very sensitive to these prophecies and pray fervently to avert the disasters, while warning that if the country can come together to pray, God might listen to their cries and avert the dangers.
Prophet Okafor however revealed that 2014 is a year of increase in all ramifications for those that believe and serve God diligently. He pointed out that all those who labour on the right part will reap the fruit of their labour.
