Education / If ASUU Calls Off The Strike On 25th Nov,would You Like To Resume This Year? by edygistvilla(m): 1:12am On Nov 21, 2013
We've been having so many reports of students supporting
ASUU and even suggesting that schools resume from the strike
next year, simply because they are exhausted by the negative
outcome of the 5 months old ASUU strike.
Now considering that the year has almost ended and also that
most school would close for the year on 20th December, would
you still prefer to resume this year?

Politics / We Won’t Interfere In Pdp’sinternal Affairs, Says INEC by edygistvilla(m): 12:37am On Nov 21, 2013
The Independent National Electoral
Commission on Tuesday said that it would not interfere in the
crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party.
This was disclosed by the Chief Press Secretary to the
commission’s chairman, Mr. Kayode Idowu, when asked by the
press if the faction of the party led by former acting National
Chairman of the PDP, Kawu Baraje, had approached INEC for
recognition.
He said: “INEC does not meddle in the internal affairs of political
parties,”
While the PDP mini convention was going on at the weekend, ex-
Vice President Abubakar Atiku, six northern governors and Rivers
State Governor Rotimi Amaechi had announced the formation of a
splinter group from the main PDP.
The other governors involved are those of Niger, Babangida Aliyu;
Sokoto, Aliyu Wammako; Jigawa, Sule Lamido; Kano, Rabiu Musa
Kwankawanso; Adamawa, Muritala Nyako; and Kwara, Abdulfatai
Ahmed.
The breakaway faction hinged its decision to split the party on the
emergence of a ‘Unity List’ at the special national convention of the
PDP, which held in Abuja. It alleged that some supporters of the
seven governors were stopped from contesting party offices.
As the chairman of the convention electoral committee, former
Senate President Ken Nnamani, announced the names of
candidates for election at the convention, the governors stormed
out of the Eagle Square venue of the convention.
They re-emerged, along with the suspended Amaechi, at the
Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Conference Centre, where they named
Baraje as national chairman of the ‘New PDP’; former PDP Deputy
National Chairman, Sam Jaja as deputy national chairman; and
former Osun State Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who was
recently removed as PDP National Secretary on the orders of the
court, emerged as the national secretary for the new faction.

Politics / Sss Parades 5 Boko Haram Suspects Including A University Lecturer by edygistvilla(m): 10:12pm On Nov 20, 2013
The State Security Service (SSS) has on Wednesday
paraded a suspected commander and a spiritual leader of
Boko Haram and four members of his cell being held by
the Service over plots to carry out attacks in Kogi state.
According to the SSS, the suspects, whose leader, Muhammad
Nazeef Yunus, an assistant lecturer in Kogi state university, were
planning to attack the Igala ethnic community.
However, Mr Muhammad Nazeef denied the allegation as an
attempt to set him up by Boko Haram because he had been
preaching against the sect's ideology.
But the other suspects insisted that he is their leader.

Politics / Re: ASUU Rejects N600 Billion Offer by edygistvilla(m): 11:02am On Oct 19, 2013
ASUU! Small but mighty. Ever since I was born,I have never seen
any union/group that fight the FG to her kneels except ASUU.To
me,looking at this issue critically and holistically, the FG have not
been sincere to honour agrements and ASUU too,is very selfish in
presenting such an ambiguous agrement before the FG.Come to
think of it,they want to live life like their foreign counterparts in the
western world while they dont have the character that is
obtainable there. In that part of the world,no lecturer intimedate
students.Sorting is not found in their system. It is a punishable
offence to sleep with a female students just to let her pass ur
course. There, the relationship between students and their lecturers
is in the class room. But u guys are not like that.U guys are a very
opposite of such obtainable afformentioned characters.I know u
guys are fighting for what is right. But u dont need to do that at the
expense of the innocent students u kept idle at home.U need to
call-off this strike before a week time or else, prepare to start
paying ransom for ur kidnap primary/secondary school
children.Maybe by then u wil knw what it means for varsity
studnts to be idle at home because of strike!!!
Politics / Re: ASUU Rejects N600 Billion Offer by edygistvilla(m): 9:01am On Oct 19, 2013
sometimes i wonder whether ASUU as a pressure group is really a pressure group or a group of desperate intellectuals...students have stayed at home for five good months...dont they have feelings...they should call of this strike at the interest of students please
