The GEM Programme has carefully reviewed and discussed your business plan, looking at the merits of the plan from a number of perspectives including viability, sustainability, development impact and the strength of the business case presented. You have been awarded a grant of 7,500,000, to be disbursed in two tranches.
The grant memo to this effect will be sent to you in the coming days.

You are invited to attend a grant signature event scheduled to take place on the March 9th at Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja at .

During this event you will:
1.      Present yourself for 45 minute questionnaire on your firm
2.      Attend a face-to-face verification of your firm’s documents
3.      Finalize the opening of a GEM designated corporate account for your firm;

4.      Sign a legal agreement with Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment that        guides the execution of the grant

Kindly arrange for the firm owner to attend the event with original and two (2) copies of the following:

1.      Proof of Address (Utility bill e.g. PHCN/Water/Waste Bill)
2.      Valid Federal Government of Nigeria issued Identification (e.g. National ID card,    International Passport, National Drivers’ License, Voters Card)
3.      Three (3) passport photographs of each signatory to the account with name and signature   on the reverse side.
4.      Tax Identification number(TIN)
5.      Certificate of Incorporation/Certificate of Registration of business name with the CAC
a.      For companies registered as sole proprietorship/business names/partnerships.
i.      Copy of Form 2 showing names of proprietors/partners.
b.      For companies registered as limited liabilities:
i.      Copy of Memorandum and Articles of Association (For Companies registered as Limited Liability)
ii.     Copy of Form C02 (Allotment of shares)
iii.    Copy of Form CO7 (Particulars of Directors).

Our team will be contacting you in the next couple of days to discuss your tranche disbursement and the milestones you will need to achieve.

blink182: If it is a business that is enough time. The name search is usually the slow part taking about 2 weeks, when the name is confirmed, its a breeze from there.

If he tells them its for Youwin, the name search will take only 2 to 3 days.... He shld jst go along wit a printed copy of the mail Youwin sent to all applicant to go register there biz...

If you received invitation for the interview, abeg go and register your company fast fast....
Am even surprised you are asking such a dumb question at this stage, considering the fact Youwin has earlier asked all applicants to go register their biz... If you attend that interview without a registered company, O.Y.O lo waooo....

Please us there a youwin help desk at the cac ikeja branch. Submitted my reg for 3weeks now and no response. I was there this past week and I was told to come back next week. Probably if I talk to them at the youwin help desk, things may get faster

Yes there is a Youwin Help desk there, i registered a biz at ikeja too..... If you tell them you are a youwin applicant it fast tracks your application... When next you go there, ask for the person in charge of Youwin applications, also go along with a print out of the mail Youwin sent to you concerning CAC registration.... The lady there is very helpful.....

Omaobe: @eetua, thanks so much for your wonderful comment abt d CAC registration. Pls, I will like to ask u questions about what I don't understand. That name search you mentioned, is it dat I will search online for the two names myself or I will go to the CAC office to that? Moreso, how and where do I pay the N500 name search fee?
Thanks so much as I await your response or dat of anyone dat can answer my questions.

Go to the CAC office get the form for N500 (Availability check and reservation of name form)
Fill the form with the two names and make photocopy of the form
Ask for the Youwin help desk, thats where you will submit it to fast track it.
Go back to the CAC office 2 or 3 days after you submit the name form to get the result of your search
Remember to ask for the Youwin helpdesk, that is what will fast track what you want, otherwise you can spend a month for the name search alone.

ill tell u what ill do if i were in your situation.... I guess you already have a name for your proposed business? Why dont you do a name search for N500, and if the name is available it will be reserved for like a month or so, the results will definitely be out before the reservation of your biz name expires....So if you win you already have an approved name and you can easily source for funds to complete the registration.....

d result will definitely be out soon....Youwin 2 second round took exactly 7 weeks from March 25th 2013 when applications closed to May 13 2013 when results where announced..... if they follow the same pattern, then for Youwin 3, July 19th will make 7 weeks.... So keep your fingers crossed the results will b out soon..
