I tried your suggestion exactly, but it is still not working.

The funny thing is some styles apply to the html page why some do not apply even when they are correctly typed and

arranged.

Dhtml thank you much.

I have a lot of question to ask as regards this new solution to our headaches.

NO 1. (Though funny and seemingly stupid but really bugging)

I am having problem linking my css file with my html file. I used the correct linking syntax as in <link rel="stylesheet"

href="mystyle.css" type="stylesheet">, but it is still not working unless I include my stylesheet in the head section of

the html document. I have tried this overtime on different computer systems and it still did not work. What could be the

problem ?

Sorry if the questions might have sounded strange to you, However I am happy they

sounded with the same seriousity as JAMB questions. Those questions where meant for

self-examination of ourselves.

I would answer some of the questions and leave some of them to be answered by

ourselves.

QUESTION

1. Was the MAMA's an award show organized by the same MTV Base that you and I know?

ANSWER 1:

Yes, to the best of my knowledge the award show was initiated and organized by the

same MTV Base that you and I and everybody in the Nigeria music industry

respects. The international music industry recognizes and respects this same MTV Base

and whatever it has offered and will continue to offer.

QUESTION

2. Were the awards given to the artiste on preference by the organizing commitee of

the MAMA's or were they awarded on the basis of votes by africans like me and YOU. ?

ANSWER 1:

MTV base informed the public that the process would be an open voting process

that would involve people voting for their prefered nominees through a voting medium

as provided by MTV Base. MTV Base have been conducting well respected award shows

over the years. They have stuck to whatever they said and whatever procedures they

chosed. The first african episode of the awards (MAMA's) wouldn't be any different.
Music/RadioRe: Mtv Africa Music Awards 2008 by efeboy(m): 7:34am On Dec 31, 2008
Please O,

Anybody who cares should answer my innocent and simple questions.

1. Was the MAMA's an award show organized by the same MTV Base that you and I know?

2. Were the awards given to the artiste on preference by the organizing commitee of the

MAMA's or were they awarded on the basis of votes by africans like me and YOU. ?

3. Was there room for individual artiste to bribe the organizers of the award ceremony

with money (be it in Naira or Dollars)?

4. Should we ever respect any award ceremony ever conducted by MTV BASE

International?

Yes and that question that is in Your minds, please answer them all.

And as for the 9ice stuff, I used to be angry when I see and hear people critisize

him unjustly and without any solid reason.

But now, guess what, I am happy becuase I found out that the most successful artiste in

our time has been those who had been heavily critisicized either justly or unjustly.

As for those who just hate to see their brothers progress, They should be comforted

because their species did not start yesterday. They should just admit that they hate 9ice

just as some of my brodas on NL have done.

Those who Insult, Should remember that one day it might be their turn to do something

that they should be encouraged for. Lets see how they would cope if they get insults

instead of encouragement. Sure they won't survive like 9ice, because 9ice has got backs

and that makes him unstoppable.

One more thing, those who go about doubting the credibility of awards shows

just because some dudes are winning the awards, should answer those questions i

posted and then go and ask the organizers of those award shows for more information.

Some one summarised everything.

The YAHOO boys cool should be happy if they see Ribadu even die.   grin

Those who had and still have plans to display their corruption skills  cool, should be happy to see Ribadu resign or sacked.

Those who would love to see Nigeria wallow in corruption and all the stupidity sad and poverty cry that comes with it,

should be really enthiusiastic about Ribadu's sin.

The fact is that Nigeria will never be able to fight corruption because she herself is corruption. Her children, Her

citizens do enjoy corruption even though they do not admit it. And they like to remove the straw in a corruption

crusader's eye, even when they know that the corrupt are carrying big rafters in their greedy eyes.

I repeat

NIGERIA WILL NEVER BE ABLE TO FIGHT OUR MOTHER CORRUPTION.

Bringing her father into this is unwise. She might have frowned to what her father had allegedly done in the past. You probably were not there when that happened. And for God's sake we are talking about the Girl not her father.  angry

Those who have been condemning the girls action at the scene should please answer this question.

Was the incident between a girl and some men, or a girl and some NAVAL OFFICERS ?  angry

Where is the navy suppose to perform their respective duty? In the streets of Lagos or in the water or in the air or in the warfront ?

In my area, if a man enters a quarrel with a woman, People spit and criticise against it . They threaten the man with the possibility of facing so-called LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS.

Remember, Some bad eggs in the navy have succeeded in killing and putting an end to the lives of two young men  angry. Can you justify the actions of those guys.

Please those who are defending should please reconsider again.  angry

To all those trying to speak civilized or as civilized persons thereby defending those angry and pathetic naval animals, Have you heard?

Some members of the naval force has succeeded in KILLING- I mean STABBING TO DEATH- two young men.

They started by beating both guilty and innocent okada drivers (commercial motorcyclists). Then they progressed to beating their fathers anyhow on the streets. Now they are beating women and even killing men.

what shall you say if you were a family member of the young men that were killed by navy men ? What will you do if you saw an ordinary navy person beating your own father or mother or brother for no tangible reason? What will say if you saw a navy person beating the same okada man that carried on his bike, for no reason ?

Please, if any body can, let him or her stand up and speak out so that this recent trend in the street of Lagos should stop, IF NOT, it will continue till the day it gets out of our hands.

For those doubting, please try to confirm what I said from your relied source(s).

@Yawa-ti-de,

I must thank you for the Lesson. I must admit it is practical.

The link you gave me was also relevant. Thanks.

However, as i told Yolu, i just started learning dreamweaver. I am not a pro.

I would appreciate if you help me by breaking down the solution into pieces for me. While going through the thread you referred me to, i saw lots of differring ideas, and so i was somehow confused. I tried the Yahoo User Interface (YUI) stuff, but nothing happened to my page.

@Yolu,

Thanks. Let me make my question clearer.

I did not apply margin and padding values to my layout cell.

I am also testing with mozilla firefox and Internet Explorer 6.

The cell I am talking about is the layout cell that is usually drawn using the icon on one of the bars in dreamweaver. Why I described it like this is because I am a bit confused about the table cell-div thing. I think it is the table cell, because i clicked on the icon after the layout table icon, and then dragged across through my layout table.

Yolu, the truth is that I am not a pro when it comes to dreamweaver. I just started learning.

Please forgive me, if it took lot of time for you to understand my unclear description.

once more, Thanks for your concern. Am awaiting further posts.

@ People like tonye-t, who have been talking about criteria.

I want to believe that the people who gave 9ice those honors and awards, are the same people who had at one time or the other given big time stars and celebrities respective honors for their respective achievements.

The organizers of the MOBO awards do not have their office at our backyards of houses here in Nigeria. They are 'INTERNATIONAL'. Neither did they start organizing awards of this kind yesterday. At least to the best of my knowledge, they have been there for some reasonable time now. Before you speak or criticize, they know that people will be there to criticize. So please be aware that they would have planned their nomination and award strategy well, so that no one spoils their long time reputation. Another thing, 9ice did not bribe the organizers of MOBO awards. He will look for a better place to invest any such money than to bribe an organization as international and big as that.

Let me come to Nelson Mandela. Mandela and im boys no be small boys. If the organizers of the Mandela 90th birthday concert performance allowed Celtel to parade 9ice as the representing artiste from Nigeria, then what are you talking about. I mean, the organizers made sure that planned every bit of the concert to become a success.

Remember, the people we are talking about here are not to be passed for nonprofessionals.
Music/RadioRe: 9ice Wins 'Best African Artist' At Mobo Awards by efeboy(m): 10:01pm On Nov 02, 2008
Any body who has been saying 'this person did this in his own language, that is why i dont appreciate him, or that his why his fellow language people loves him', should remember say na turn by turn.

One day you might get inspiration to do a wonderful thing whith your own language or in your own language. And then imagine what it would be like when somebody refers to your work as rubbish or not well done because you did it with your own mother tongue which is nigerian.

Understand me, it might not be in music. But someday it could be your own turn to achieve something like others such as 9ice have achieved in his life time.

omo na turn by turn,

Music/RadioRe: 9ice Wins 'Best African Artist' At Mobo Awards by efeboy(m): 9:44pm On Nov 02, 2008
@Dis Guy

You might be correct. Although i think tribe shouldn't be an issue here, but unfortunately some people seem to be tribalistic.

I know of a guy who criticizes 9ice's gongo aso, just because he does'nt understand what the word mean. What the guy does'nt know is that the western musics he fantasizes and sing so much is not his, because the westerners do music that really relates to their own world. The whites buy their own song because they understand that even if they can meet up with the lyrics, the music relates to their society. They enjoy and promote their own music.

Instead of criticizing our own Nigerian artiste just because we are affected by language barriers, we should learn to rather find out about what we don't understand about them and then learn to promote them. For God's sake, d'banj, Asa, 9ice and 2face are all our own. Let's get this right. Though its not bad listening to western music and acknowledging their successes, western music (nelly furtedo, justin timberlake and so on) can never be our own.

this is just to clear the air for those who fall into the category Dis Guy metioned about.
