officialchikzy0:Thank you sir. We are under the same roof of Nairaland. Togetherness. 👍 |
Omiterionimi:■■ I don't think there is any group or platform for mock training for now. Meanwhile, why not research this section very well and study related visa transcripts in order to master possible questions and how to answer ? ** Over- Relying on groups or platform might make you sing the normal songs to the consular eg A = for Apple. B = for Boy. ** But with self idea and not following generalised ways, you can say ' A = for Applause , B = for Bravery. This will clears you of any pre-meditated or commonplace answers . 👍 |
charlesizi101:■■ The number one brickwall you might encounter is called " Genuine Intention." You can be a 70 yr old but are you a CEO of a fast-growing firm who needed international management experience to excel ? Do you need an MBA degree in order to be promoted or for your business (es) to acquire a big contract as the administrator? Why cannot you acquire the MBA from UNN, UNILAG. ABU or the Lagos Business School ? The number two brickwall is called " Profile/Misrepresentation." Are you a professional doctor or a dentist or a lecturer or civil servant, etc, who does not have any personal or private businesses to grow or develop but wanting to go for MBA ? Have you been working full time as a clergyman/pastor ? Then, all of a sudden, you need an MBA in the U.S.A ? Therefore.aligning your profile in tandem with your visa application is important. The number three brickwall is the twins known as " Proof Of Ties & Proof Of Funds (POF). Okay, you got pass marks from the above. Now, do you have the money to execute your plans without getting stranded and becoming illegal in america ? If you have the money , how are we certain that you will not fall-in-love with American societies and the goodies it offers and decide to stay behind ? Do you have a wife and children who will make you come back home for a holiday ? Or other commitments that will mandate it for you to be in Nigeria at least once a year ? 👍 |
[quote author=BruceXavier post=135903534]I think your submission here has helped with some clarity. Let's imagine a scenario where an applicant was denied a visa, like Canada, UK,New Zealand or Schengen. These countries also share information with the US. Would the applicant have to disclose visa denials of other countries in the DS-160 even when the form does not provide avenue for such? I believe the answer is No Hello Bruce. Any applicant who is applying for any kind or type of U.S visa , and who have been denied, banned , or flagged by any of the 5 - EYES ( Australia , New Zealand, UK, U.S.A, and Canada) will have his or her information spring up only by typing his names, passport numbers , finger prints, etc. *** Even with today's technologies, U.S.A, Canada , and UK have the ability to know your visa history from any country of this world just by inputing your passport number or via finger print. ** In this respects, all your travel or visa histories either you say it or write it inside your ds-160 or not will automatically be revealed to the U.S embassy immediately you are ten-printed and the information will be circulated to all U.S consulate all over the world right there as you are standing. ** The best logic that is good for any visa applicant is to answer ds-160 questions regarding visa or travel history with honesty. You do not have to write about other countries, they knows those one themselves. 👍 |

Ashleydolls:Hello Dolls. I think pre-approval for f1 visa applicant is cancellable . Cancel it and start all over from the beginning. Remember to date sign your I-20 before you upload it . Also be certain that you have filled and submitted your ds 160 completely. I also think that all prospective international f1 visa applicant should indicate yes on DS-160 regarding their travel plans. 👍 |
Timi3272:Timi, YOU : 1. Reason for Refusal: I was denied an F-1 visa on ***2024 under section 214(b) because I couldn’t demonstrate sufficient funding due to a $25,000 deficit. Since then, I have been awarded a Graduate Assistantship at ****Uni covering full tuition and *****annual stipend. My funding deficit is now $4,551, which will be fully covered by my Father. This opportunity became possible after I enrolled in a one-year Postgraduate program in *****. That academic progress strengthened my profile and helped me secure the assistantship through a competitive interview and academic review process *** The hook of the INA 214b has caught another fish, and you are the fish. The U.S. embassy does not give the reason (s) for visa denial. They just give some headline or clues under which you might have been denied , so where did you see the denial reason you listed ? So when they say reason for denial, they only pushed you forward as newly caught criminal, and the denial- reason you listed is just your mindset because visa officer will never tell you any reason other than handing you a 214b slip, and 214b also never list any specific reason. *** I WAS DENIED UNDER INA 214B, WHICH WAS BEST KNOWN TO THE CONSULAR OFFICER, BUT MY PRESENT RE-APPLICATION IS DONE ABSOLUTELY UNDER THE IMPROVEMENT GUIDELINES PROVIDED BY THE SAME INA 214B. YOU 2. Current employment/Training Should I fill it as ‘Education’ and enter the institution I just completed the first year master OR fill ‘Unemployed’ describing my current situation that I just finished OR fill an employment in Nigeria. *** Yes. Education. ( You are also free to indicate any outside sources of income). YOU 3. Person paying for trip: ‘School’ or ‘Other Person’ ** Other person. Then, explain the situation of your GA and the part you are covering . Your I-20 has already indicated your financial status. 👍 |
Baller234:*** 1. Yes all students who have done the needful (paid sevis fee, completed ds 160, paid mrv successfully, and date-sign form i20) that I know have been able to secure an appointment. 2. There is no preference, but Lagos post have more population of students than Abuja. Therefore, in my personal experiences, the possibility of getting a date at the Abuja post is very very high than Lagos. Note: This is not an official record. It is absolutely based on my personal experiences, therefore it may not be 100% accurate. 👍 |
ugorjimicheal:Michael. If you defer your admission, yes you will need to fill another ds-160 entirely. After the completion of the new ds-160 you will then login to your avits profile and raise a ticket so that the avits help-staffs can auto-update your DS-160. After the update, your old ds-160 would have been erased while the new one will reflect in your appointment letter. * You also have to print another appointment letter after the update. Everything i have narrated is free of charge. You do not need to pay another mrv. 👍 |
preetyslim:Yes, you are the only one because i have logged in and out of different avits profiles today. May be your browser or gadget is misbehaving. 👍 |
CultureSmart:*** You don't need anyone to connect you to a group and it is not compulsory to connect with anyone to engage in mock practise. What you need to do is to go back to the previous thread together with this present one and familiarize yourself with all F1 visa transcripts. You are a Nigerian and by so doing you are reading and studying 100% Africans or Nigerians possible questions and answers that is consistently asked by the U.S embassy in Lagos, Abuja, Ghana, etc. Even if Seamlessvisa is connecting you with a human being for mock trainings (which am doubting) then i can bet it that you will be cramming generalised questions and answers from all over the world. Knowing possible questions and knowing how to answer and the ideas used by the successful ones as well as the mistakes of others from Africa or especially Nigerian applicants is all you need. It is not absolutely compulsory you engage with any individual. Note: Nairaland is still the best for all Nigerians or Africans (no matter where you are) to study the minds of the U.S. visa officers. Comb this thread very well. Study F1 transcripts to understand, dont study to cram answers like a student going for a quiz or debate. If there is a teacher figure to train with good otherwise you dont really need a teacher figure to do mock training or practice.. 👍 |
Timilegoo00:** If your application for visa is non immigrant then ordinary original birth certificate is sufficient for you to back the claim if you have it. If your application is immigrant you will need court affidavit and do a notarization .👍 |
Timilegoo00:** No. Just as @Taal17 has stated but let me elaborate . We are like doctors on Nairaland so any patient shouldn't hide his or her ailments. Are you being adopted ? Is the person a distance relative ? Did you know him online and never met but he's just interested in becoming your guardian? 👍 |
Lee310:** No. I don't usually recommend schools. Google is sufficient to look for schools and send an application enquiry to the admissions office. To me, getting any kind of schools in the U.S. or anywhere is a piece of cake if someone is dedicated . Infact, you can break another record by discovering what others have not discovered or have overlooked. Why not focus on @ADbb's opinion since you have shown interest in applying? You need to overlook and be focused and pray along. 👍 |
Lekan2348:@Lekan. You are right. I actually thought she was an F1 who made mistake on resumption (I have lots going on at hand) 😊 She actually doesn't need to fill another ds-160 if the intended travel date doesn't tally with the day of interview. Nevertheless, she is likely going to follow my opinion because there is no way she is going to get her passport within 4-days. Not even with premium pick up, and remember the consular knows this timeline, so she should guide against desperation. 👍 |
Jane8999:** Yes. You must fill another one. Ds-160 is what the visa officer will use to interview you on the D-day so you have to fill it responsibly. Flimsy mistake in your ds-160 can be used against your visa success. 👍 |
Lee310:Hello Lee. I will still leave @ADbb to respond to you as he or she may have another eye opener to share with you, but I need to quickly point out something in your response. First, You should not only focus on just an MBA but STEM-MBA from a reputable and well ranking (in business & finance) institution in the U.S. STEM-MBA or STEM-Msc in any course of study now gives you the room to stay back in the U.S. after graduation by rounding off with STEM-OPT. Again, STEM-MBA stands out from the old commonplace MBA by combining. Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in your modules which gives room for STEM graduates employability in almost all fields. Secondly, I have a natural inclination for researching any topic ranging from geography, politics , people, languages etc just like you, but I am not in anywhere near to be called an educationist or a natural scholar because I was also an average student on graduations (Bsc & Msc) and I don't like teaching academically or reading any subject for a pass-mark. Can you see that I myself is not fit for a PhD application except if its extremely necessary for my earnings or promotion ? Phd studentship has the highest record of drop-outs more than other level of University degrees in almost every given year. It's not about coming out with 1st-class. It's about the passion. 👍 |
Janet04:Hello Janet. I don't think you have done everything. And that thing you have not done is for you to go back to few pages from this current page and read all the instructions. Your question have been treated by various people with same or past experiences. If you cannot find your solution then keep waiting and checking or defer your admission. 👍 |
OlaSammie:@OlaSammie. @BrighterSyde asked the question you quoted last year 2014. I wonder why answering him today 😎 ▪︎ Anyways Seamlessvisa does not focus only on U.S. visas, they are giving visa services and clues to UK, and few other countries. ** As at today. Nairaland F1 student visa and B1/B2 sections gives the best practical visa processing clues, mock trainings (possible questions & answers and other empirical U.S visa informations related to Africans than majority of those external websites. Note: I am not underestimating Seamlessvisa, but the best place to aquire 1st-class practical U.S visa informations for Africans (esp Nigerians ) is here on Nairaland. 👍 |
Lee310:Hello Lee. I don't think you are an educationist or a natural scholar. You need either of the two hallmarks to succeed as a PhD applicant. Go for STEM MBA. ** If you however need the doctorate certificate for profile or promotion purposes well i dont know if anyone would suggest a magic route. 👍 |
preetyslim:@preetyslim, @Aramide, and @PotentialLake. I am still reiterating that you should be able to pick a date in Abuja or Lagos as a prospective and new F1 visa applicant either for 2026 or 2027. @preetyslim having answered most of your questions to the best of my knowledge still keep coming with same questions but you have never answered mine . ** Have you paid sevis fee ? Have you filled ds-160 form completely and submitted or you saved it for future editing? Have you signed and date your form I 20 in agreement to section 3 of the form ? Is this your first time or you were denied not long ago ? These are what we need to consider because i usually discovered at the end of the day that there are lot of hiding mistakes from most visa applicants that they wont reveal to us openly. ** Nevertheless, all of you should follow this instruction as a last resort otherwise you will keep waiting or defer your admissions or give it to someone knowledgeable to cross check your applications. If you are unable to create a profile on AVITS or you encounter other error while using your profile, email us at LagosNIV@state.gov with the following information: CC: nigeria@usvisaappt.com USE THIS SUBJECT LINE: V77 - Profile Issues on AVITS Full name Date of birth DS-160 confirmation number (starts with AA) Passport Number A short description of your situation including screen shots if applicable. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? Upon receiving your request, our team will assess it and contact you with next step of action. ABUJA If you have challenges with your profile, account creation and activation, confirmation email, or user errors (user inactive error), email us at consularabuja@state.gov with the following information and as much attachments as possible. CC: nigeria@usvisaappt.com USE THIS SUBJECT LINE: V46 - FULL NAME - SYSTEM ISSUES Full Name (as listed in passport) Passport number Copy of DS-160 Copy of MRV fee receipt (GTB or First Bank) if applicable An explanation of the issue, including system screen shots if applicable ** Attach your signed I 20s, Ds 160 confirmation. MRV receipt. Sevis fee receipt and the screenshot of your dashboard with the error message. Send the message via your registered email and pick any date they give you after 24hrs in order for you to be able to request for expedite appointment. Send the email during working hours. Ciao. |
preetyslim:** There are 2026 dates in Abuja that i can guarantee. If your profile is complete and you have done everything accordingly you should be able to pick it. After picking it then you apply for an emergency appointment under student . ** If you are finding it difficult to navigate the computer yourself and you have a friend or knows someone personally who wants to assist you with minimal fee then you can go ahead but they will eventually do what i have recommended on your behalf. No agent is going to sell another person's date for you that is not going to be possible. They can only find your own date for you. I am not recommending it but if you are finding it difficult doing it yourself then approach someone you know personally. 👍 |
aramide000:Hi Aramide. Clicking on pending appointment is what will take you to a calendar where you will pick a date. Date is not meant to be displaying like an advertisement on your dashboard. Click on pending appointment. You should also navigate between Lagos and Abuja so that you may be able to pick an appointment regardless of the year. Doing so will enable you to apply for expedite appointment automatically as an F1 visa applicant. Note: I do hope you have paid your SEVIS fee, date-sign your I 20 , filled and have submitted your ds-160 completely and your MRV payment is confirmed ? By this, you are now a complete F1 visa applicant who is ready to go to school. If the pending appointment is not taking you anywhere then navigate my appointment option. 👍

Spiceyspicey:Morning Spicey If you are applying within West Africa ie Nigeria , Ghana, Gambia etc and those countries that are grouped together in Africa AVITS just cancel your present appointment and start all over (in your same profile) and you will have the opportunity to choose within those countries and continue. If this applies to you pls abandon the new profile that you have opened. If you are applying in Europe, South Africa, UK, Canada , or in any country that is not listed in your options then you have to visit that country avits and register as a new user. If this is the case you have to cancel all your pending appointments in any avits profile you might have opened. Your question is a generalized one so i don't know how to answer based on your specific situation. It's not only the matter of same email, it's the matter of both same email and your travel passport number that is being detected as already registered. 👍 |
Spiceyspicey:Hi. No. You cannot use your account still. You have to visit the avits website of the country you wish to apply (as indicated in the attached) and registered accordingly. If you experience double profile in that country avits you have to login to your avits-Nigeria and cancel your pending appointment. 👍

Poormanpikin:Poormanpikin. This is an interesting but a delicate question in which i have researched and answered privately to some individuals. To start with , having a social media account (s) is not a requirement OR compulsory for any type of U.S visa application as of today, because making it a requirement is like a modern enslavement of others and forcing people to making decisions out of their beliefs, religion, policy, likes and dislikes etc. ** However, it is indirectly expected (not compulsory or mandated) from some advanced visa categories, eg an MSc or a PhD F1 visa applicant who doesn't have at least a social media account is absolutely going to be rated as a withdrawn or absolutely secretive person. Same goes to a STEM MBA or a B1 applicant attending conference on behalf of a multi-national organisation and claiming to not have at least a LinkedIn account ? ** In summary, some visa applicants ie F1 , B1 business visits , H1B are expected to have at least one social media handle and the reasons for this is for the U.S. embassy to verify your beliefs, mindsets towards others, aggressive tendencies, etc because majority of past and wanted evil perpetrators in America usually expressed themselves openly or codedly via various social medias. Do not delete any of your social media posts. No matter how obscene or irrelevant your posts kindly leave it as it stands. U.S embassy are not looking for you. Deleting or making hasty editing makes you look suspicious. 👍

Wealthypips:Hello. The email shared by @MrMighty was probably sent when both AVITS and the U.S. embassy has not gotten their bearings. As of today , U.S embassy will not ask you to cancel a pending appointment after you must have sent the appropriate emails on payment issues. They will only send a mail asking you to click on pending appointment which will automatically takes you to a calendar or they tell you that your payment cannot be verified. Below is the only avenue recommended by the U.S. embassy to sort out your payment/appointment booking issues. You will have to send the email via your registered email and remember to COPY AVITS amentum nigeria@usvisaappt.com Start clicking on pending appointment after 2 days. If this one doesn't sort it out you will have to pay another MRV no doubt. 👍
|
AdisaMighty:Mr Mighty. Your own response was directly from the U.S. embassy in Lagos and they referred you back to AVITS (your dashboard) because they have notified avits or they thought it is the duty of the support team helpline. For clarification, this is the only email directed to avits nigeria@usvisaappt.com any other email like LagosNIV goes internally to the sightseeing of the embassy officials. U.S embassy investigates MRV payment themselves because they are guiding against fraud. Thank you for the awareness sir. 👍 |
Wealthypips:Hello. Don't follow the customer helpline from avits (ticket raising feedback) as they are not the one to sort out MRV payment issues. U.S embassy has a way of sorting out or verifying all mrv payment issues internally. In this respect, you have to follow the instructions of VISA NAVIGATOR by emailing the U.S embassy directly. If you cancel that appointment you will very likely pay another visa fees. 👍 |
Alvinaknight:Yes. It is untrue. Case closed. And thank you for another enlightenment. 👍 |
Teledom1:** Sir don't quote me wrongly to the public. Let's end this conversation. Everyone should acts according to his or her experiences. God bless you . 👍 |
