You are judging your half brother with your "Nigerian eyes". The western culture is ok with not "taking care of family". They expect everyone to handle their own business. So your half brother is not used to your demands for support.

I am sure you are aware of many celebrities who have siblings that are not well to do.

Also, your brother has no emotional tie to you as he met you as a fully grown man. The support you are asking for has to be developed over the years of growing up together. Being your brother doesnt mean he has to support you. You might be surprised to know that he might be showing more support (financial and others) to a friend he grew up with in the US etc.

Just try to see it from both sides. . . . . . .
