Politics › Re: If Buhari Was Igbo; The Double Standard Of The Yoruba. A Must Read! by egift(m):
Full Disclosure: Am a complete Nwafor Igbo and am kicking On over here in 042

@Post: If Buhari was an Igboman. (As a former head of state, with too much integrity and running for Presidency in 2015 under APC)
- There will be many Rev. Fr.Mbaka who will be enthroning his virtues.
- You will see many fellow Igbo men going on Radio, TV, Internet to juxtapose the historic and ecclesiastical need to elect Buhari.
- Every community will be bestowing on him many titles. And historic landmarks named after him.
- A VP from the SW will be promoted as epic and a grand unification of the southern Nigeria against the North.
- A VP from the North will be regarded as a landmark reconciliation and unification of Nigeria.
- A VP from the SS will be sold as restoration of the Eastern Region superpower beyond Africa.
- Some dubious Igbo business man will sell him out to protect their selfish interest
- His being an Army General will be trumpeted as that of a Lion, a warrior, a liberator and exactly what Nigeria need. Even compared with the fame of the Warriors of Aro Ndi Izogu.
- All the current insults will not be heard and anyone that insults Buhari will be called a Sabo. And many more.

My only question with the reality today, is if Ndigbo are not approaching this election with open minds as it should, rather than demonize Buhari, how then can the rest of Nigeria support an Igboman for President?

Anyway, I know for certain that when Buhari wins, Ndigbo will rally around Buhari because of two reasons:
1. Majority of my people do not play Opposition Politics. That is when you will be hearing "in politics there are no permanent enemies".
2. Support and being part of Buhari's Presidency will help keep 2019 election an open race.

As for Jonathan, forget that one. He is gone. grin grin grin

barcanista:
1. I have been writing about the failures and shortcomings of Jonathan and the PDP(though I left out the positives). I wasn't wrong. But lemme add that I criticised the government for not going so hard on BH(Check my points on why I support Buhari). Today, the story of BH is different, the government is coming hard on them. But I talked more on Buhari positives/managing his image on nl and disputed some propaganda.

2. I have no reason to apologise to Jonathan when I never lied on him. I said he wasn't too hard on fighting corruption for instance. I also talked about how the economic growth is yet to be felt on the masses(this point Mrs Alison reitrated few days ago). My defection to PDP only made me to appreciate the good done so far by the government, suggest ways for improvement, constructively criticise and expose the double standard/hypocrisy of the APC. I have never said GEJ has done excellently(Majority of GEJites won't say such either except when in comparism with APC).

3. I don't play zombie-like politics where I say things out of politics. My number 1 and 2 spoke in-depth of my position.

4. When I look at Buhari's antecedent as a candidate, I see a patriotic citizen and an astute administrator. GEJ even spoke well of Buhari. Many people have their own view of him but his assertiveness and other leadership attributes makes even his critics marvel. As ANPP and CPC candidates, Buhari was in firm control of the party. He refused to support the GNU of Yaradua after the 2007 Obj organised flawed election. However, the APC Buhari has shown that he is not what we use to know him. He is not incharge, his party countered him on fighting corruption when the chairman said "they have agreed not to probe the past". He once said that Nigerians will fund his campaign but we see corrupt politicians doing it. The Buhari of the past participate in political debates. The Buhari of the past run his own campaign and not through a proxy(in Osinbajo). The Buhari of the past had his campaign team fill with reputable men and women like Odumakin and Bakare, not the Tinubu and Atiku type. The Buhari of the past says something and means it. He wouldn't say "No of office of First lady" and turn around to involve his wife in his campaign. It is either he has lost it due to old age or he has been compromised. Meanwhile, the true character of any leader is reflected on majority of his followers. If he can't influence his associate and followers, then something is wrong.

On this note, I restate my alignment with Jonathan. He isn't "perfect" but there is positives and hope to change the negatives.
Cheers for your responses. No need going back and forth so I will let it be, though you made a lot of flawed conclusion and I disagree with you on not running a one-man show, having more stakeholders in his campaign, expanding his campaign to penetrate all the Geopolitical regions in Nigeria, entertaining and considerate to diverse opinion on issues - these an others are very positive evolutions that will work well for Buhari as leading in a Democratic Settings.

Also I have observed as you stated, when you were in APC you promoted the Positives of Buhari and more of Jonathan's failures. Now you are in PDP, you promote more of PDP and and attack APC for any imaginable flaw you observe. Also I noticed that you turn a blind eye to Buhari area of strength when it is attacked or miss-represented - though I think it is expected considering your new affiliation.

Finally, it is irresistible of my itchy fingers to ask this (don't take it badly, it is just on a lighter note. It always get me smiling):
I hope those that were threatening you for supporting Buhari have backed out? And that you no longer need Protection?

Cheers! Do have a lovely day.

May God judge your concience. Did you ever accuse Sanusi or Liar Mohammed of telling lies when they told the world $20b was missing from NNPC cofers? Did you ever question the veracity of Stela Oduah and Allison Madueke corruption allegations? You will all reap from your sycophancy.
What lie is there. NNPC is the largest looting channel in Nigeria. The exact amount may be debatable, but make no mistake, a lot is missing.

Is Jonathan a Clown that thinks that military Costume will cover the fact that played politics for 5yrs with lives of over 20,000 Nigerians that died due to his incompetence, and wickedness? Jonathan was busy dancing in Kano as Nigerians were being killed and abducted.

If the Army can sack BH from Baga under 3hrs, imagine why Jonathan deliberately left people die for 5yrs. Pure evil.

Politics › PDP Prepares For Their Work Leave - Time For 16 Years Review by egift(op):
This year Nigerians will be voting for Change to give PDP the time they need to go back to the drawing board. They need the time-out to review their 16yrs in the Presidency and take stock of how it has fared.

I personally will like them to reconsider working for the interest of Nigerians when next they come on board and stop feeding fat on our collective fortunes and shielding criminals and looters from prosecution. Am sure the PDP will also realize that Presidential Election are not ran on attacking your opponents and publishing their obituaries.

As PDP prepare for their work leave from the Presidency after 16yrs of service, we wish them a nice vacation.

Also we task the APC to never tow the path of PDP and prove they can do it better.

The statement read in part: “If Fani Kayode cannot recognise that Tinubu is a talent seeker, man of vision, one who creates opportunities for the best minds to thrive and serve the public, then he deserves our pity. Tinubu’s hand is writ large in the brand of good governance pervading the South West and other parts of Nigeria. Fani-Kayode tried before to be part of the party but left when he found out there was no room for his games. Because APC could not help to free him from EFCC and aviation alleged fraud, he ran away to the party that blocked the EFCC on his behalf.

“On record are Tinubu’s efforts and his contributions to rebuilding the nation and ensuring its democracy. They are his patriotic obligations. People like FFK will never understand this. Patriotism is not part of their personal constitution. Everything they do has a private beginning and personal end. They do nothing regarding the public purpose except lie about it. Sincere9gerian:
But you believed Sanusi when he said $20 billion was missing?
Yes. Here is why?
- The allegations PDP made here is mere speculations and you know it. FFK was not the one writing all the invoice and buying coffee for them.
- Jonathan allowed NNPC to be holding on to money after sale of petroleum to shortchange NGF. So the sales of crude oil was not remitted to Federation account in full. Which was the foundation of Sanusi's revelation.
- All together about $49b were involved. But when NNPC outline how the spent the money (refineries maintenance, contributing to the budget, NNPC running cost, payments of subsidies and a long list of others), it was found the only $10.8b cannot be accounted for.
- Then there is the other money NNPC spent on Kerosene subsidy. Yar'Adua in 3 occasions wrote to NNPC and to Allison for the suspension of Kerosene subsidy. So the particular payment was argued illegal. That is what amounted to the $20 billion Sanusi exposed.
- Today, the new audit of PwC, says that the rest of the $10.8 billion can be explained, but that NNPC will return nearly $2billion.

So before you start castigating Sanusi all over again, ask yourself where has the money PwC ask NNPC to return Where has it been. While we may disagree on the actual figures, but if you believe there is no looting and misappropriation of funds in NNPC, then we have nothing further to discuss.
