Investment / Re: Sad Experience With Mutual Benefits Policies by egoldi01: 4:14am On Nov 01, 2019
GAZZUZZ:

I see nothing wrong here.
Well, there may be nothing wrong if one was aware of no full contributions, no full payment at the time of taking up the policies. That is why I want to create awareness for all before starting such journey with the company. But I'm not sure that is how all other Nigerian Insurance companies hugely penalize their clients.
Investment / Sad Experience With Mutual Benefits Policies by egoldi01: 9:18pm On Oct 31, 2019
I never knew having policies with Mutual Benefits is a crime if I have to be heavily charged for both premature termination and non completion of payments on a matured policy.
I had a life investment of 5 years scheduled to end on October 1, 2019 but only paid for 20 months and abandoned midway due to some reasons. I paid premium of 165k out of 600k and now MUTUAL will pay me back ONLY N137,469 leaving me with charges of N27,530
I took up another 5 years investment along the line and paid up 41 months out of 45 months. I then decided to terminate due to poor service. I have paid up 820k but will now ONLY get N775,758 to part with N44,241.
In all, out of my combined premium payments of 985k, I will part with 72k as charges on my money!
After my engagement with them on the charges, I was told that a policy is said to be matured when expected total contribution has been fully paid and the duration fully spent. This is the ONLY condition where no charges is applied on your policy.
Therefore, should any unforeseen circumstance come up and one is unable to pay up, MUTUAL BENEFIT will not pay.
This is not only unfair, but also grossly discouraging. Their staff will never explain this when trying to get clients.
Has anyone had any similar unpleasant experience with this unfriendly company and similar insurance companies for Nigerians to learn from so as not to be victims again like me.

Nairaland / General / Re: Nigerian Insurance Companies - Real Or Scam. by egoldi01: 5:32pm On Oct 31, 2019
Most of them are scam. They will never disclose all the terms to you especially for medium/long term policies. When it comes to claiming your payment, that is when their true status will be shown. MUTUAL BENEFITS is commonly know for this. I regret ever keeping my money with that crooked company

You have really tried and gone far with the lady with maturity. I want to make the following inputs if you intend settling with the lady.
Seat the lady down and reason together on your present issues - you need to really pour out your mind to her.If you don't address this out now, it may become more complex to sort out later.
You need to have multiple investments personally, in money market, landed properties and others that would be regularly returning some monies to your account.
Try and establish her as much as your finance and ability could go so you won't be continually bothered about her finances. However, you cannot continue to be the survival means of her mother too - you need to really define this - you man consider regular token or petty business for her.
Then, please try and get less engrossed with other people's issues. Make a budget/have in mind how much you can monthly assist people with and be consistent with it. Plz note that U cannot satisfy everybody.
Plz don't heavily invest in any lady before you marry her, if not, you may later have reasons to leave her or the other way round.

Why do some people always dislike peace. There are several schools around that support and will further deepen your children in their religious beliefs. But no way, they must go and proof rubbish. So what legacy are they passing on to those children.

Biglittlelois:

I disagree, it is every parents dream for their kids to outlive them and inherit their properties, that is why most women use their kids as next of kin.

So why is that men too, even with the dream and wish that their children outlive them, still use their wives? To me, men freely trust their wives with high level of understanding, despite having other ladies, while women ask too many questions and still don't trust their husbands

Agriculture / Re: Hidden Truths About Catfish Business!!! by egoldi01: 6:28am On Nov 11, 2017
LaBikerFarms:

How to Know When to Stop Feeding Your Catfishes:

Knowing when to stop feeding is something the inexperienced catfish farmer has to deal with; it took me months to know when my catfishes are well-fed, and I only truly mastered this after around a year.
Knowing when your catfishes are okay becomes a bit tricky once you switch to spot feeding, but you don’t have much to worry about.
If using floating feed, try to avoid having excess feed on the surface of the water; carefully observe your fishes to see what will satiate them.
If floating feed must remain on the water, it should be something that the fishes can finish within 5 minutes of you stopping their feeding; anything more is potentially a waste.

For sinking feed, carefully observe the response of your fishes; they will eat excitedly while their reaction reduces as they start to get satiated, but it’s safe to stop if you can barely see them pop their heads out of the water to eat. If you stocked 1,000 fishes into a pond and can only see 5 – 10 fishes eating after awhile, it is safe to stop; with sinking feed, anything more could be a waste.

Conclusion:

I tried to include everything I believe you need to know about feeding, that can help you grow your catfishes from fingerlings stage to several kgs.
Just as I said earlier, this piece is a compilation I made from the experience of a successful catfish farmer in Nigeria as published on his blog.
When you must have successful raised your fished to the desired weight, the next step is marketing the fish. I am currently working on an article or compilation to educate you on the best strategies to market the produces from your fish farm in Nigeria.
Catfish farming in Nigeria is a very profitable agro-business if done properly. My advice is that before you venture into the business, take out time to learn all you need to know about the industry before starting.

I wish you the best.

What the hell. Just 120 cut off for university? Nigeria is doomed. The level of education has dropped badly. in our time, JAMB regular cutoff for university was 200. And even with 249 no university will offer u admission to study medicine. Cut off 250.
This is so sad
Haba, why not read everything instead of inconclusive reading and wrong deduction. Its stated that all schools are at liberty to raise it to any level. Was JAMB really regulating admissions like this during your time nor was any minimum score set by JAMB?

Business / Re: NIMC's Response To Sterling Bank On Temporary Slip As Means Of Identification by egoldi01: 9:31pm On Aug 17, 2017
The NIMC slip does not have date of birth on it like every other valid means of identification and there is an N.B clause stated on the slip too. The body should rather work on speeding up the release of the permanent cards and retrieve the temporary slips instead is seeking acceptability of its slips. Only the regulatory bodies can expressly advice banks on acceptable valid ID cards - and NIMC is not one of them.
Paragraph 3 of the letter issued by CBN on this stated that the NIN should be confirmed before initiating relationship. Is there any platform on ground for banks to confirn the authenticity of NIN numbers before starting relationship with customers?

ademola1333:

Are you sure he treated the pond well?
You may try this:
Get floating feed of about 2kg, floxinor, palm oil and salt. Pour the feed in a bowl. Using the lid of the floxinor bottle, measure 7 lids and mix thoroughly with the feed using your hands. Add small quantity of palm oil and mix thoroughly too. Floxinor is bitter, so starve them so that they will be forced to eat the feed. Give them the feed, at first throw they will rush it well. Sprinkle salt (500g will do) on them so that it touches their body. After sprinkling the salt, throw the remaining feed mixed with floxinor and palm oil.
Note: If you are going to try this, starve them for about 12hrs so that all will be forced to eat the feed. And observe them for some hours or a day before you continue with the feed you are giving them.
Moreover why would you by local feed whose formula you don't know?!
Thank you so much for the prompt workable advice - it really worked and there is no casualty again. God bless you.
