Egoldman I agree with you that all Nigerians will continue to be regarded as internet fraudsters and narcotics smugglers until such time as the Nigerian state is dismembered into fragmented ethnic enclaves like the former Yugoslavia.plz remind me on what page of the thread where i emphasized this . |
If and when that occurs, perhaps a more accurate picture will finally emerge of precisely which tribal group is primarily responsible for the lions share of internet fraud, when such happens , then Nigeria would start to have good image abi ? |
The day i would agree that igbos are the ones that spoil the name of Nigeria most would be the day that the rest of Nigeria ask the igbos to go and stay on their own ,until that happens all you hear from this igbos haters is nutting but pure crap ,they hate us because we are more progressive than them even in their own backyard we would come there and still progress , this why they hate us . |
ITS THE EXTREMELY PROGRESSIVE AND PRODUCTIVE NATURE OF AN IGBO MAN EVEN IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT, THAT MAKES OTHERS HATE HIM .HIS SUCCESS MAKE HIS HOSTS FEEL LIKE UNDERACHIEVERS,HENCE THEY TAX HIM SO HEAVILY ( DEALT IN SPARE PARTS FOR 6 YEARS IN BORNO STATE ) YET DESPITE THIS HE STILL KEEP PROGRESSING. |
So let this igbo tribe just go and stay on their own so that the Nigerian state would have peace and very good image ,but no they wont let this igbo go ,they need igbos, why on earth would Nigeria insist on associating with the very tribe that it accuses of tarnishing its image ? |
Thank you anyanfe ,now see the % margin between us and the united states ,yet ophra and her team hardly see that . |
The chinese in fact have mastered cloning of credit cards and print fake notes -so when was the last time that ophra and team investigated and produced an episode of her show concerning the chinese credit card crime ? or do you think ophra and her team dont have much info about the chinese cloning of credit card than you do ? my brother , i am not saying 419 is good ,its bad ,but i would like you to ask if nigeria is the only corrupt nation that ophra knows since she started her show . |
Bank loses $1.1m to online fraud Nordea branch sign Nordea says it has refunded the affected account holders Internet fraudsters have stolen around 8m kronor ($1.1m; £576,000) from account holders at Swedish bank Nordea. The theft, described by Swedish media as the world's biggest online fraud, took place over three months. The criminals siphoned money from customers' accounts after obtaining login details using a malicious program that claimed to be anti-spam software. Nordea said it had now refunded the lost money to all 250 customers affected by the scam. "What is important is that none of our customers will have lost their money," said a bank spokesman. "We are doing all we can to stop this." Largest Nordic bank The attack used a program called a trojan, known as haxdoor.ki, to obtain customers details. Trojans are programs that look benign but contain malicious software. Victims were duped into downloading the program after receiving an email, purporting to come from the bank, encouraging them to download anti-spam software. Once installed the trojan monitored the PCs' online activities. "It listens for key web addresses, in this case the Nordea bank address," said Greg Day, security analyst at McAfee. When a user navigated to the Nordea bank login page, the trojan would kick into action, saving the customers login details. It then displayed an error message asking them to resend the information. With two access codes the criminals could transfer money from the customer's accounts. Trade newspaper Computer Sweden said the police had traced the fraudulent emails first to computer servers in the US and then to Russia. Nordea added that customers who had been affected often did not have any anti-virus protection on their computers. The bank, which has 2.2 million customers, is the largest across the four Nordic nations of Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. In August 2005, it was forced to temporarily shut down its online arm due to a sophisticated phishing attack. observe the words in red . why am i posting this stuff ? to prove that nigeria does not have image problem or that we are all saints ? far from it ,however what am trying to do here is to show that the exaggeration by the western people about our problem for their own selfish reasons is wicked,i wonder why ophra does not address this sort of issues .Can someone here tell me when was the last time that ophra addressed the issue of western banks, america and uk incuded, that take care of the loot of african leaders even when they know such money does not correspond to their salaries . no nigerian connection sources ; http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/6279561.stm |
The United States still top the list of top spamming countries in 2006 ; 1 United States======================================= ====21.6% 2 China (incl Hong Kong) ====================================13.4% 3 France ===============================================6.3% 3 South Korea ==========================================6.3% 5 Spain ================================================5.8% 6 Poland ================================================4.8% 7 Brazil ================================================4.7% 8 Italy =================================================4.3% 9 Germany ===========================================3.0% 10 Taiwan ===============================================2.0% 11 Israel ================================================1.8% 12 Japan ================================================1.7% Others================================================= 24.3% source ; http://www.sophos.com/pressoffice/news/articles/2006/11/dirtydozq306.html Yet we don't have Nigeria in this list ,so why is Nigeria the first place to call when they want to talk about identity theft ? Ophra would have done a job nice she would commit a whole program to the spam industries in america the way she did on Nigeria . i don't support 419 ,but if this kind of statistics does not have Nigeria name ,then its shows that there are americans who are into online fraud very much than yahoo boys ,afteral what is the main reasons they send those spams if not get your info like credit card and banking details . |
I feel stupid to be responding to your views ,so i stop thanks and have a nice day . |
Maybe we should keep quite and tacitly accept her stupid tribalistic views ![]() |
j-girl:tell that the to the person who started this thread ![]() |
If the igbos are the most ones that destroy the name of Nigeria ,then it would be natural that Nigerians would love to do away with igbos so that they wont be associated with igbos who are " bad " . However anytime igboman tries to seperate from the Nigerian nation ,the federal troops will move fast and bring him back to the fold , so the question continues, why wont you let go of someone that brings shame to your image ? If Nigeria would conduct referendum among none igbos to determine if they would want igbos to go ,there would be no doubt that all of this igbo haters would vote for the igbos to remain , how on earth would you reconcile this with their hatred of the igbos ? who is fooling who here ? every tribe in nigeria is part of the reason why Nigeria has bad image today ,to say that Nigeria would be a more honest country without the igbos is arrant nonsense. There could be other reasons ,but the main reasons why Igbos are being hated is nothing but their progress , no matter how you argue it , igbos are the most progressive tribe in nigeria if not in africa , no tribe in nigeria would go to another man's town and succeed the way igbo man does ,no tribe in nigeria would survive the horrow of the civil war and still move forward the way igbos have done ,no other tribe in nigeria have investments outside of their own states like igbos ,other tribes in Nigeria feel nuttin but jealousy when they see houses buit in their state by the outside Igbo man ,check in any state in nigeria and u will see that there is no other tribe that is as self sufficient as igbos ,igbo man dont rely on goverment for his daily needs , he hustles for whatever he needs ,check across nigeria and you will see that most house in igbo land are private buildings and not goverment owned , this and such alike are why igbos are hated in nigeria ,this is why igbos are most compared with the jews cos they have such threats like igbos . ofcos there are bad igbos just like we have bad yorubas and hausa or any other tribe in nigeria ,but i repeat this loudly , ITS THE EXTREMELY PROGRESSIVE AND PRODUCTIVE NATURE OF AN IGBO MAN EVEN IN A HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT, THAT MAKES OTHERS HATE HIM .HIS SUCCESS MAKE HIS HOSTS FEEL LIKE UNDERACHIEVERS,HENCE THEY TAX HIM SO HEAVILY ( DEALT IN SPARE PARTS FOR 6 YEARS IN BORNO STATE ) YET DESPITE THIS HE STILL KEEP PROGRESSING. |
Ok , Igbos are the problem of Nigeria ,all 419 are Igbos and its Igbos that spoil the name of Nigeria ,yet if this same Igbos would declare their biafran state tomorrow ,what would happen ? would th rest of Nigeria let the " greedy, criminal and 419" Igbos go ? no they wont ,what you would see is the Nigerian federal troops will be deployed in the east to bring the Igbo people back to the fold again ,yet they are the same people you don't like ,they are the same people you claim that they bring you bad names and image, why don't you let them go so you would now enjoy your image without igbo man spoiling it by being called a fellow Nigerian like you ? This is like what Ojukwu once said ' A guy is carrying someone else on his back and the guys weight is really pressing him down to the point of braking his back ,meanwhile the guy on his back said he would do anything other getting down from the guy's back to relieve him from his pain ' the guy that suffers that pain is the igbo man and the guy he carries is the Nigerian nation , you say he is bad ,but u don't want him to leave you ,you always want the igbo people who u call criminals to be with you , why would Nigeria insist on having Igbos as part of Nigeria when the igbos are the because of Nigeria's bad image ? who is fooling who here ? Sweet T , Its unfortunate that despite living in the western world where we beleive people have secular and liberal mind ,you still have such destructive tribalistic venom flowing in your veins . |
This is becoming very interesting . |

Some good news about Cornerstone Insurance ; Shareholders approve ACA equity stake in Cornerstone SHAREHOLDERS of Cornerstone Insurance Plc in a unanimous decision at a well attended extra-ordinary general meeting approved the equity injection of N3.4 billion ($26 million) into the company by African Capital Alliance thus raising authorised share capital of the company to N5 billion. Leading shareholders of the company who spoke at the meeting including Mr. Sunny Nwosu, co-ordinator, Independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria, Chief Timothy Adesiyan of Nigerian Shareholders Solidarity Association among others, urged the new investors to bring to bear their expertise, international reach wealth of experience and financial power by way of enhancing shareholder's value. Nwosu, while expressing confidence and attesting to theethical pedigree of the new investors, however, urged them "not to do anything that will jeopardise the interest of shareholders. We want you to add value as you have done in all companies you have substantial investment stake and make appreciable returns on investments for those of who have invested in this company." On his part, Adesiyan urged African Alliance to drive the insurance sector with their participation in Cornerstone and grow in particular, the company to greater heights considering the good brand equity the company possesses, even as he urged that the Cornerstone brand should not be tampered with. Buoyed by additional funds from the leading investment firm, Capital Alliance, Cornerstone is set to embark on aggressive business and human capital development to enhance its competitive edge nation-wide. Capital Alliance Private Equity II Limited Investment emerged as core investor in Cornerstone after injecting N3.4 billion ($26 million) into the latter. Capital Alliance has links with the renowned African Capital Alliance, a foremost investment fund with international affiliation with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) capitalised to the tune of N5.5 billion. Cornerstone Insurance was among the first set of underwriters that recently received clearance from the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) to operate both life and general insurance business. Capital Alliance's investment in Cornerstone Insurance marks the first of its kind in the Nigerian insurance market, a development analyst hinged on the company's track record and brand equity in Nigeria's insurance sector. It was gathered that the consistent rise of Cornerstone's share price on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in the last few weeks even before it was re-certified by NAICOM to write both life and non-life business also endeared Cornerstone to Capital Alliance. Meanwhile, there are strong indications that Cornerstone has signed a technical partnership with a foreign technical partner, to boost its operational capacity, processes, IT deployment, world class expertise and human capital and business development. Financial analysts are of the view that the entry of Capital Alliance will introduce marked and radical changes in the sector's approach to investments and asset management. He noted that the involvement of leading foreign investors in the insurance industry signifies a "vote of confidence" in the insurance industry. According to our source, "Capital Alliance is bringing expertise and global best practices to the Cornerstone brand, which they intend to propel to groups of companies that will diversify under the Cornerstone Insurance Group. Market analysts add that Capital Alliance also seeks to maintain a family of specific-industry funds that seek to make equity-related investment in various sectors of the Nigerian economy. With track record of consistent returns on investment from its various enterprises, Capital Alliance Private Equity II Investment Limited, also has substantial and thriving interests in leading business organisations including MTN, BusinessDay Media, ABC Transport, and Oakwood Park, owners of Protea Group of Hotels among others. source ; http://www.guardiannewsngr.com/insurance/article04 |

Frankly sometimes i seem not to understand exactly what it means to be romantic, have dated only two girl in my life time ,one Indian and the present one Nigerian ,the Indian girl would always tell me ' you are soo sweet ' , well after talking to the Niger one on phone few days back for about 50 mins she said ' you are soo romantic ' yet i dont know exactly how i talked on the phone to make her feel so |
what do u mean ? |
I think you should ,after the recent consolidation in the insurance sector ,its expected that the profit margins of most insurance companies would do well and when that happens the stocks are likely to go up ,just my 1 cents . |
welcome . |
I would have emphasized on the same view like cheexy that it could go either way ,but as u dont go with that ,i guess i dont have more answer for ya ![]() |
I don't really have any inside info, but with the following finds that i have made about cornerstone ,i personally feel that the stock might be undervalued at the moment ; Cornerstone Its the most sought after insurance stock on the NSE . Joint owners of oaks pension limited with express discount limited Its the most sought after stock in the insurance sector In partnership with some reputable international insurance companies as listed below ; * Swiss Reinsurance Corporation * Africa Reinsurance Corporation * Continental Reinsurance Company Ltd * Universe Reinsurance Company Ltd * Globe Reinsurance Company Ltd This i think would help them in underwriting customers claims easily . There five year financial report isn't bad too . with the above details i personally feel that the stock is undervalued and when they declare their profit margin ,people would rush for the stock and the price would go up by then .Of because i could be proved wrong but this is my view . |
if you would not need that money for at the least one year i would suggest that u buy bluechip stocks with it and u will make some kill in about 1 year ,also you can buy some cheap land at some unattractive locations in the outskirts of lagos ,there are good chances that the prices would go up considering the pace with whihc lagos is still developing ,i cant prove this ,but i have been told there are such lands you might get at the rate of between 250,000 and 450,000 naira , remember what i said ,its on the outskirts of lagos where its not yet attractive for now , hence the low rate . |
LondonCool , I think Cheexy have answered your questions . |
the election would come and go and the country would continue on its part to greater heights, we have not reached the promised land yet ,but we are getting there ,maybe slowly but sure we are moving and thats the main thing .God Bless Nigeria . |
if you can ,get cornerstone stocks . |
buy oceanic shares it would do well after the IPOs ,try to buy some cheap land in outskirts of lagos ,they are not too attractive now ,but as lagos is always developing and expanding you would surely make some kill in about 6 months to one year . |
In any business ventures there are risks and i think the risks that comes with stocks concerning the election would be overcome in no time ,surely some people would sell their stocks believing things might get out of hands in the country ,i consider such time as when to mop up some stocks ,when those that sold it see that war didn't happen and Nigeria is still one then they would come back and buy it from us on higher price ,you know if this country would survive June 12 , i dont see why it would not survive this election . |
