I have checked out some youtube videos on both devices and I must say the iPad 2 is really cool but when I think about using these things in naija I still lean towards the 3G pad having to go buy a MiFi for 24k and two of them around is well   not so okay by me. However in terms of running games and apps is there any that iPad 2 can do which iPad cannot do besides apps that need camera or gyroscope?

I am being offered a choice between iPad 3g 64gb (1st generation) and iPad 2 Wifi 16gb. Which will you go for, please I need your suggestions, especially if you have used the two before. What are the advantages and disadvantages especially here in Naija. This choice is being offered as a Christmas gift by my sis in Yankee. what a nation we live in, so much rubbish on the news and dailies every other day. What the hell does passing a bill to criminalize same sex marriage add to our lives positively other than taking us back to the outcast days, and soothing our collective warped religiously hypocrite egos and sense of love for "Godly" things.

I have seen a colleague loose a leg after getting shot in a robbery attack because the "Honorables" has thrown aside the bill that would have enabled him get treatment without a police report. I see the Niger-Deltan still living a most wretched life and going towards the brink of great upheaval because the Petroleum Industry Bill has been allowed to go into obscurity.

We have relegated important issues to the background and irrelevant inconsequential matters are being brought to the fore.

Not playing to the wishes of the people only gets us into situations like this man below. (Sorry for the gory picture it's just for emphasis)

Just my own opinion, Nigerian online shops are still very far behind. Their prices are always much higher than what you get in the market especially for gadgets. Website contents are not updated always showing stale information. As for Circuit Atlantic buying stuff thru them particularly of relatively small value will mostly leave you on the losing end. We need our own Amazon, Bestbuy, Tigerdirect, etc. where you can get prices that are even lower than is offered by direct distributors. Anyway we are getting what we bargained for when we went scamming buyers and sellers on ebay and other web markets thus resulting in our being shut out of the international mainstream online market.

Nairalist came close to craiglist, but it also seems to be going by the way of the dinosaur because it it seems not to be in use, for some time now.

This is just my 2 cents.

@lynxnoon what android brand phone u on I noticed you running an MIUI rom and u have FM radio is it working for you or its just sitting there I have an sgs and tried MIUI roms but FM radio is not working and that is a deal breaker for me. That aside however it is one of one of the android flavor I have ever experienced.

@ lynxnoon I feel you I just tried the MIUI rom 1.8.26 on my sgs few days ago I uninstalled it next day cos no fm radio but I could not stay away so am back on it. Its just so cool and smooth best thing to happen to android right now but I just wish I can have fm radio on my sgs.

Guys these China guys don step up. Check this out, the Mi One (Official MIUI phone) android phone. If you are having battery issues try out the app "PowerMax" I use it to conserve power a lot when am not using the phone it automatically turns off a lot of things on your phone just try look for it on the market.

Am looking at buying an android tablet 10" not expensive but with good specs tried computer village but did not see much any recommendations? Important, with wifi and 3g capabilities.

Just my thoughts too. What's so special about the iPhone. I use android and love it I have used an iphone and I don't think it is worth the price peoples pay for them. Its pure exploitation.

Android users let us shame these devs and fanboys who hang on to apple with the excuse that android is a poor platform where users are less likely to buy paid apps than on the ios platform thus launching most of their apps on ios and leaving android users in the cold. Lets hustle less for cracks and hand me downs less often and buy more of our own. You can use your ATM cards to purchase on the android market after obtaining your i-pin (just go to you atm machine select change password and choose i-pin option key in new i-pin password and you are done) I have used my Zenith VISA to purchase apps this way. I am not writing this because am a big boy with money to waste but guys, Steve Jobs and him zombie followers (aka apple fanboys) insult us too much. Let us smash this impression that android users are not ready to spend on apps. Thanks. If you download the new android market you will see price of apps in Naira they are quite cheap.

HELPOOOOO!!! Fellow nairalanders, make una see me see Nigerian Immigration Service wahala. I was issued an e-passport in 2008. I it use for identification mostly and have never used it to process a Visa application. I processed the passport application myself and it cost me just the around N10,000. In 2010 I was involved in a robbery incident and I lost it to the robbers this was promptly reported and a police report obtained. I was expecting that applying for a replacement would be a breeze but was shocked to find out from the Benin office of NIS where it was originally issued that I had to part with 50k to 55k in order to get a replacement. My inquiry was made at their helpdesk. I also went ahead to ask other officers of the NIS there and was told the same thing. Now this has left me very angry and frustrated because normally in a sane country with sane institutions you would expect to get a replacement at a lower cost than you originally paid for the lost item. I have been told I cannot apply for another e-passport until the stolen one expires however I cannot continue without a passport, I don't see it as a privilege but a necessity as a citizen of Nigeria that I should have my passport back without paying thru my nose. So please, nairalanders how una see this matter? If you have any useful suggestions please post it here it will be very much appreciated.

Lol why compare galaxy s to blackberry torch. galaxy is way better thinking of size go for galaxy s instead of tab or better still check out the unbeatable galaxy s II. Believe me man am on the galaxy s right now.

Lagos is big and rich enough to setup independent power plants. But I keep wondering why this issue is not taken up rather than use tax payers money for planting of trees and painting of roads. Just my thoughts.
